The story takes place in a dangerous age of piracy, where enormous empires control the seas, merchant fleets cross treacherous waters, and pirates search for treasure, freedom, and fame.

Among the many pirate crews sailing the ocean, the Black Tide Pirates are infamous.

They are a small crew of only five men, but their reputation is considerably larger than their numbers.

They are known for stealing from corrupt nobles, attacking heavily armed merchant ships, escaping impossible situations, and occasionally getting themselves into ridiculous trouble.

Despite their reputation as dangerous pirates, the five members have a strangely close relationship. They constantly argue, insult one another, compete over stupid things, and threaten to throw each other overboard.

But if an outsider threatens one of them, the other four immediately become united.

Their greatest strength is not their numbers.
