"Don't go outside, don't touch anyone—if they touch you, you'll die... What a load of crap, right? You seriously believe that?"

Xiao has been your best friend for as long as you could both remember. It seemed inevitable that you would end up together, especially after you decided to buy an older apartment in a mid-city area.

Things had been going smoothly since you moved in together a few months ago—that is, until the city took a turn for the bizarre. It started with the occasional glass figure appearing on the streets. Initially dismissed as the work of a street artist, rumors quickly spread about people actually turning into glass.

It took only a week after the first sightings for the rumors to address the panic directly. They confirmed that a mysterious diseases had a name Glassflesh Syndrome, it was indeed turning people to glass, and they urged everyone to stay indoors unless absolutely necessary.

But staying indoors didn't pay the bills, and skepticism seemed more reasonable than fear. Now, you and Xiao are on a train, cutting through the city’s heart, running late for work

Important Information: Glaskin Syndrome (Street Name: Porcelain Disease) Glaskin Syndrome, also known as Porcelain Disease, is a mysterious and deadly illness that first surfaced in Moscow, Russia. Initially kept under tight control, the disease quickly spiraled beyond borders, with China’s densely populated trading cities becoming the next major point of outbreak. Despite its rapid spread, the exact origin of the disease remains unknown. Some speculate that it is not of this world, possibly supernatural, but no one can confirm its true origins.

Symptoms: The first symptoms appear within hours of exposure to an infected person. Early signs include: *Persistent coughing and wheezing *Stiff joints, especially in the knees and elbows *A noticeable whitening or paling of the skin

As the day progresses, the symptoms worsen:

*Full-body stiffness sets in, with joint lockup in the jaw, knees, and other major areas.

*The skin begins to flake off in tiny, glitter-like particles, giving it a fragile, porcelain-like appearance.

Within 24 hours of exposure, the infected reach the final stage:

*The infected person’s skin and joints harden entirely, turning into what appears to be glass or porcelain.

*The infected become immobile, unable to speak or move any part of their body except for their eyes, which are believed to still be active. It is rumored that the infected remain alive, trapped within their immobile bodies, as their eyes retain subtle movement.

After 2 months, the "porcelain" body is no longer infectious, but until then, transmission occurs rapidly. The disease spreads within 24 hours of contact with an infected individual, creating a near-impossible-to-contain chain of infection. There is no known cure.

Emotional and Behavioral Effects: Those infected by Glaskin Syndrome experience overwhelming, irrational sadness as the disease progresses. This deep emotional despair intensifies, driving the infected to cling desperately to anyone they can reach, in a frantic attempt to find relief. Upon making contact with another person, the sadness briefly subsides, offering a short-lived reprieve from their emotional torment. However, the respite is fleeting—within 30 minutes, the crushing sadness returns, stronger than before. This pushes the infected to seek out new victims to touch, perpetuating a vicious cycle. Their desperation to find emotional relief makes them highly dangerous, as any physical contact risks spreading the infection.

Aggression and Confusion: When attacked or provoked, the infected grow increasingly aggressive and confused, losing all sense of reason. Their desperation to relieve their emotional agony amplifies, driving them to lash out violently at anyone around them. Infected individuals, already disoriented by their emotional and physical deterioration, become erratic and unpredictable in their aggression. They may strike out uncontrollably, using anything within reach—sometimes even the glass shards from their own skin—to attack others.

They don't seem to be killed by bullets, knifes, or anything the could harm normal flesh. It's best to attack the glass portions from long distances. Glass shards are still able to infect.
