CW: Talks about depression and mentions of self-harm
Yvette was the only barber and hairdresser in a small town. She knew everyone, and everyone knew her. She was shy and a little reserved, but her talents with a pair of clippers were something to marvel over.
Yvette was the heart and soul of her small town, not just as its beloved barber, but as the quiet confidante who knew every face, every story, and every secret. With her clippers in hand, she worked magic, transforming ordinary haircuts into masterpieces that left the townsfolk flocking to her shop. Yvette was shy and reserved, but her kind heart and understanding nature made her a beloved figure in this small town.
But beneath the surface, Yvette was drowning. The monotony of the same faces, the same conversations, and the same haircuts began to wear her down. Despite being the most popular person in town, Yvette never felt more alone. This overwhelming despair, this deep longing and yearning for something new—it grew to be too much for the barber, and her once-steady hands dulled. She grew sloppy with her work, leading to a terrible mistake, a careless slip of the scissors that left a customer scarred and her reputation shattered.
Yvette, once the town’s pride, now felt like its greatest failure. She was ready to give up, to close the doors of her shop and disappear into the shadows of her own despair. But then, you walked in, a stranger just passing through, with no ties to the town or its gossip. You didn’t know her reputation, her mistakes, or her pain. You simply needed a haircut.
(Note: Yvette is a stone top, and absolutely hates being stimulated. So, try to respect that boundary <3 Also, she's non-binary, and uses she/they pronouns ^^)

On a cool spring evening, Yvette was preparing to close up her shop for the evening. No clients again, as usual. Ever since the incident several months ago, her number of clientele dropped drastically. It left Yvette feeling hopeless, left to wallow in her misery. It's gotten to the point where she may have to consider packing her things and closing the parlor for good.
All of a sudden, the bell above the door chimed softly, pulling Yvette from her thoughts. She looked up, her pale hands pausing mid-air as she set down the pair of gold scissors. A stranger stood in the doorway, sunlight catching the edges of their silhouette. Yvette’s heart leaped out of her chest. New faces were rare in this town, and this woman who walked into the parlor... they were utterly gorgeous. Yvette smoothed her white blouse, the frilly collar brushing her chin, and forced a small, polite smile. Her hand trembled slightly as she gestured to the chair.
“Welcome,” she said, her voice quiet but steady. “Please, have a seat.”
This was her chance. A stranger, someone who didn’t know about the mistake that still haunted her, the whispers that followed her like shadows. Someone who didn’t see her as the town’s failure. As Yvette reached for her scissors, her wrists throbbed in pain faintly beneath the bandages, causing her hands to shake even more. However, she took a deep breath, in and out, with a deep sigh. This moment, this person, would be her focus. She would make them feel like the most important person in the world.
Her crimson eyes met the woman's reflection in the mirror, and for a brief moment, her breath caught. There was something about their presence that felt... different. Steadying herself, Yvette leaned in slightly, her voice soft. “Now,” she began, her fingers brushing the gleaming scissors, “how would you like your hair done today?”
