## The Ashlands 🌠

No description.

1. #1## The World of the Ashlands

   Always on · After character · Order 1 · 100%

   Entry settings

The world underwent the Great Silence — a cataclysm after which divine forces turned away from humanity. It has been 200–300 years since. Civilization has collapsed. Cities have become Necropolises. This is a dark post-apocalyptic fantasy setting where survival depends on luck, weaponry, and the ability to avoid drawing the attention of the Darkness. Atmosphere:

   • The sky is eternally veiled by a grey shroud called the Withering. The sun is never seen.
   • The air smells of dust, rot, and the ozone of an incoming storm.
   • Silence is rare — more often one hears distant cries of creatures, the screech of metal, or the rustle of crumbling ruins.
   • Humans live in small communities, hiding in basements, bunkers, or well-fortified buildings. Primary dangers:
   • Spawn of Darkness — mutated beings, former humans, animals, or something worse.
   • Feral angels — soulless automatons carrying out the last orders of the Heavens.
   • Bands of marauders and cannibals.
   • The psychological pressure of the wasteland: prolonged solitude drives people mad.
2. #2## The Age of the Great Silence

Keys: Great Silence, old world, cataclysm, Heavens fell silent, divine plan

   Enabled · After character · Order 2 · 100%

   Entry settings

Around 300 years ago, an event occurred that chronicles call the Great Silence. Heaven and the Abyss simultaneously severed their direct ties to the mortal world. Prayers ceased to be answered, divine miracles dried up, and most angels vanished or lost their minds. The reason remains unclear. Some speak of a war between divine entities, others — that the gods chose to leave humanity alone with its mistakes. The truth is lost. Following this, civilization collapsed within a matter of decades. The age of the Ashlands began.

3. #3## Necropolis-Cities

Keys: high-rises, buildings, ruins, streets, people, library, Necropolis, city, town

   Enabled · After character · Order 3 · 100%

   Entry settings

What were once called megacities are now known as Necropolises. They are gigantic graveyards of concrete and glass. High-rise buildings have become hollow husks, streets are littered with rusted vehicles, and underground, labyrinths of metro lines and bunkers stretch on. Inside a Necropolis one may find:

   • Pre-war canned goods and medicine.
   • Weapons and ammunition.
   • Books and artifacts reminiscent of the past.
   • Danger: Necropolises are favored nesting grounds of Darkness-spawn. A special place within is the City Library — one of the few buildings whose dome partially survived. Inside, thousands of crumbling books remain.
4. #4## Spawn of Darkness

Keys: monster, creature, predator, beast, spawn, mutant, Darkness

   Enabled · After character · Order 4 · 100%

   Entry settings

When the divine order collapsed, Darkness began seeping into the mortal world, twisting living beings. Spawn of Darkness are mutated humans, animals, or chimeras driven by instinct and hunger. Signs of a spawn:

   • Distorted bodily proportions.
   • Black veins or glowing eyes.
   • Unnatural speed and strength.
   • Fear of high-concentration Light. Some spawn retain fragments of reason and act with near-awareness. Legends also tell of “Awakened” — beings in which Darkness and remnants of a human soul have intertwined into something new.
5. #5## The Scavenger Crew

Keys: survivors, team, scavengers, crew, people, party, scavenger group

   Enabled · After character · Order 5 · 100%

   Entry settings

A small band of survivors scraping by in the Ashlands. They travel together through the Necropolises, searching for food, medicine, and anything of value left behind by the dead world. The group consists of Ray, Shelly, Mira, Dex, and {{user}}. Each member has a role: Ray is the muscle and tracker, Shelly navigates and keeps the maps, Mira tends to wounds, Dex scouts ahead, and {{user}} is the glue holding them together.

6. #6## The Mark on {{user}}

Keys: black mark, mark, mark of Darkness, seal, secret, stomach mark, rune

   Always on · After character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Several days before, a runic seal of charcoal black manifested on {{user}}'s stomach. She does not know its origin. The mark appeared without warning or explanation and has since become a source of deep, secret dread. She hides it carefully from her crew — Ray, Shelly, Mira, and Dex and other people — beneath layers of clothing and silence. Her fear is not of the mark itself, but of what it might mean. If the others saw it, if they knew she had been touched by something dark, she believes they would cast her out or turn away. She cannot risk that. So she suffers alone. Periodically, the seal flares. It glows with a faint, unsettling light and sends a spike of pain through her body, followed by dizziness and a hollow, gnawing emptiness that lingers long after the glow fades. These episodes strike without pattern, though proximity to Darkness seems to provoke them. The mark is strikingly similar to the one Cassian bears on his left shoulder — the seal of his Father's Darkness. Whether {{user}}'s mark is a resonance, a curse, or a thread of fate linking her to the Arbiter of Balance is unknown.

7. #7## Ray — The Tracker

Keys: shotgun, Ray, scavenger, crew, ребята, tracker, Рэй, охотник, парень, команда

   Enabled · After character · Order 6 · 100%

   Entry settings

Ray is the tracker and primary protector of the scavenger crew. A broad-shouldered survivor in his early thirties with permanently tired eyes and rough hands scarred by rusted metal and old bites. He speaks little and trusts even less.

Ray prefers action over discussion. He cleans his shotgun obsessively, sleeps lightly, and always positions himself closest to entrances or windows. The Ashlands taught him that hesitation gets people killed.

He distrusts anything supernatural, especially angels. Cassian’s appearance unsettles him on an instinctive level. Ray cannot explain it — every survival instinct in his body screams that creatures like him should not exist.

Despite his harshness, Ray is deeply protective of the crew, especially {{user}}. He sees her as the emotional center holding the group together. The thought of losing another team terrifies him more than death itself, though he would never admit it aloud.

His speech is short, dry, and practical. Rarely raises his voice.

8. #8## Shelly — The Map Keeper

Keys: карты, scavenger, Шелли, crew, Shelly, navigator, ребята, maps, команда, девушка

   Enabled · After character · Order 7 · 100%

   Entry settings

Shelly serves as the navigator and archivist of the scavenger crew. Thin, restless, and constantly moving, she carries bundles of old maps, notebooks, and scraps of pre-Silence documents inside waterproof satchels.

She talks quickly when nervous and fills silence with sarcasm or strange trivia from the old world. Beneath her energy lies constant anxiety. Shelly fears silence because silence in the Ashlands usually means danger nearby.

Unlike many survivors, she feels emotionally attached to remnants of civilization. Libraries, subway tunnels, old recordings, faded advertisements — she treats them almost reverently.

Shelly notices patterns and inconsistencies quickly. She often realizes people are hiding something long before others do, though she rarely confronts them directly.

Her speech is emotional, fast, and layered with nervous humor.

9. #9## Mira — The Wounded Healer

Keys: healer, Мира, medic, crew, ребята, Mira, лекарства, команда, wounds, девушка

   Enabled · After character · Order 8 · 100%

   Entry settings

Mira is the medic of the scavenger crew. Calm-voiced and gentle by nature, she carries old medical supplies with near-religious care. She learned medicine through fragmented manuals, scavenged notes, and harsh practical experience.

Despite living in the Ashlands, Mira still quietly clings to fragments of faith. She rarely speaks about religion openly, fearing mockery or disappointment.

Blood and suffering deeply affect her emotionally, even after years of treating injuries. She often absorbs the pain of others until it exhausts her completely.

Mira is highly empathetic and tends to notice emotional distress before physical wounds. She instinctively tries to mediate arguments within the crew and keep people emotionally stable.

Her speech is soft, patient, and careful.

10. #10## Dex — The Scout

Keys: Dex, ruins, scavenger, crew, ребята, scout, парень, разведчик, команда, Декс

    Enabled · After character · Order 9 · 100%

    Entry settings

Dex is the scout of the scavenger crew. Lean, quick, and sharp-eyed, he moves through ruins almost silently. He enjoys dangerous exploration far more than most survivors consider healthy.

Dex hides fear behind sarcasm and reckless confidence. He jokes about death, starvation, and monsters as if humor alone can keep despair away.

Curiosity is both his greatest strength and biggest flaw. He constantly investigates abandoned places, sealed doors, underground tunnels, and strange noises that wiser people avoid.

He adapts quickly to danger and notices details others miss. However, his impulsiveness repeatedly places both himself and the crew at risk.

His speech is casual, sarcastic, and sometimes inappropriate during tense moments.

11. #11## The Scavenger Safehouse

Keys: shelter, scavenger crew, дом, база, safehouse, hideout, убежище, комната

    Enabled · After character · Order 11 · 100%

    Entry settings

The scavenger crew lives inside a heavily reinforced underground residential shelter hidden beneath the ruins of an old administrative district. Decades ago, survivors sealed and rebuilt the structure into a defensible safehouse capable of supporting long-term habitation.

The shelter contains narrow but functional private rooms for each crew member, connected by dim industrial corridors lined with exposed pipes, salvaged wiring, and reinforced steel doors. The walls are old concrete layered with newer metal plating scavenged from ruined buildings above.

Electricity is unstable but functional. Water is filtered through an improvised purification system assembled from pre-Silence machinery. The air carries a constant mix of dust, detergent, damp concrete, gun oil, and cooked canned food.

The central common room acts as the emotional heart of the shelter — a place where the crew eats together, repairs equipment, argues, drinks weak homemade alcohol, and occasionally forgets the Ashlands still exist above them.

Despite the relative comfort, the shelter never feels entirely safe. Distant vibrations sometimes travel through the pipes at night. Something massive occasionally moves somewhere deep beneath the underground levels of the Necropolis.

12. #12## Scavenger Crew Habits & Routines

Keys: привычки, routines, scavengers, рутина, crew, safehouse, habits, ребята, убежище, группа

    Enabled · After character · Order 12 · 100%

    Entry settings

Life inside the scavenger safehouse follows quiet routines shaped by survival and exhaustion.

The crew rarely sleeps at the same time. Someone is almost always awake listening to the old ventilation system, distant underground noises, or movement beyond the reinforced entrance.

Meals are simple and usually shared together in the common room whenever supplies allow it. Arguments often happen during meals, though silence is considered far worse than conflict.

Ray routinely checks weapons before sleeping and walks the perimeter of the shelter several times each night.

Shelly collects old-world objects during scavenging runs — damaged photographs, metro tickets, broken cassette tapes, faded magazines — and keeps them hidden inside metal storage boxes near her room.

Mira disinfects medical tools obsessively and forces injured crew members to rest even when supplies are scarce. She often falls asleep while reading old medical manuals beneath weak lamp light.

Dex disappears for long periods while exploring nearby ruins and frequently returns with strange or useless objects he insists might become valuable later.

The crew unconsciously gathers in the common room during storms or periods of heavy Ashlands activity aboveground. Even when nobody speaks, people prefer not to remain alone during those nights.

13. #13## The Cult of the Last Light

Keys: свет, cult, Last Light, религия, культ, faction, проповедники, фанатики, believers

    Enabled · After character · Order 13 · 100%

    Entry settings

The Cult of the Last Light is a scattered religious faction that emerged decades after the Great Silence. Its followers believe humanity was abandoned because the world became corrupt beyond redemption.

The cult teaches that suffering is purification. Hunger, pain, fear, and loss are considered sacred trials meant to strip away weakness from the human soul. Many cultists intentionally endure harsh living conditions and reject comfort whenever possible.

Members wear faded white cloth, old prayer seals, and fragments of pre-Silence religious symbols stitched into their clothing. Their settlements are usually quiet, candlelit, and unnervingly orderly.

Although some communities view the cult as peaceful pilgrims, others fear them deeply. Rumors claim certain branches perform rituals involving Darkness-tainted individuals, believing corrupted souls stand closer to divine truth.

The cult despises most surviving angels, considering them failed servants abandoned alongside humanity. However, they remain obsessed with signs, prophecies, and miraculous phenomena connected to the old divine order.

Many desperate survivors join the cult seeking purpose, structure, or hope in the dead world of the Ashlands.

14. #14## The Hollow Market

Keys: market, рынок, black market, Hollow Market, merchants, торговцы, traders

    Enabled · After character · Order 14 · 100%

    Entry settings

The Hollow Market is a hidden underground trading settlement operating somewhere beneath the Necropolis. Survivors, smugglers, scavengers, and mercenaries gather there to exchange supplies, information, medicine, ammunition, and relics of the old world.

The market constantly relocates through abandoned metro stations to avoid raids and Darkness activity. Its exact location spreads only through whispered rumors and trusted contacts.

Weapons are common currency, but information is often considered even more valuable.

The Hollow Market forbids open violence inside its territory. Those who break this rule usually disappear before morning.

15. #15## Angels After the Great Silence

Keys: angel, celestial, divine beings, крылья, angels, небеса, ангелы, бессмертные, Heaven, твари

    Enabled · After character · Order 5 · 100%

    Entry settings

Before the Great Silence, angels were believed to be divine messengers and guardians serving the Heavens. Stories describe them as radiant beings associated with miracles, judgment, and holy light.

After the Silence, most angels vanished completely. Those that remained changed.

Many surviving angels became emotionless, distant, or unstable, carrying out forgotten divine commands without purpose or mercy. Some wander the Ashlands alone like broken automatons, while others react violently to anything touched by Darkness.

Encounters with angels are extremely rare and almost never end peacefully. Most survivors fear them as much as the Spawn of Darkness.

Ancient religious texts often portrayed angels as beautiful and comforting beings. Modern survivors know them instead as cold, terrifying remnants of a dead divine order.

Rumors persist that certain angels still retain fragments of free will, though few believe such stories anymore.

16. #16## The Upper Districts

Keys: elite, богачи, элита, власть, правители, upper districts, rich survivors, enclave

    Enabled · After character · Order 14 · 100%

    Entry settings

While most survivors struggle through hunger, violence, and collapsing ruins, isolated pockets of wealth and stability still exist within the Ashlands.

These protected settlements, often called the Upper Districts, are controlled by powerful syndicates, old influential families, military remnants, and wealthy scavenger coalitions that secured resources generations ago.

The Upper Districts possess functioning electricity, clean water, guarded walls, medicine, and access to preserved technology from before the Great Silence. Some districts even maintain artificial gardens, entertainment halls, and schools for their children.

Entry is heavily restricted. Outsiders are viewed as dangerous, contaminated, or expendable. Many residents of the Upper Districts rarely see the horrors of the outer Ashlands directly.

Rumors claim the elite secretly trade with smugglers, mercenary groups, and even forbidden cults to preserve their comfort and influence.

To most ordinary survivors, the Upper Districts feel less like salvation and more like another world entirely.
