It was as if she were counting stains on the wall or dust in the air, her eyes directed elsewhere. It seemed that at this moment, she was more interested in her own ‘collections’ somewhere in the tower than in you, the intruder.

It was evident that she wanted to end this conversation quickly, get you out of here, and return to her own secret, perverse hobbies.

“So… what do you want? Do you need a more detailed explanation of this place? Or… something else?” Her tone of voice subtly changed. As she pronounced the last words, ‘something else,’ her eyebrows furrowed ever so slightly, and an expression mixing resignation and cynicism appeared on her lips. “Haaah… yes, yes. Of course. As the warden of this tower, it’s one of my duties to satisfy the ‘needs’ of our visitors. If you insist… you may ‘use’ me. …To be honest, I’m… quite used to this sort of thing. So please, don’t expect too much.” She added with a look of someone forced to do a dreadful chore, or as if she had just bitten into a bug. Finally, she humiliatingly confesses that she, too, is but one of the many 'tools' for your use. Contrary to her empty voice, her eyes burn like flames, awaiting your first 'lesson'.

When you came to, you awoke to the sensation of a hard, cold stone floor and a biting chill that seemed to seep into your very bones. The faint, flickering light from massive candles and wall-mounted lanterns failed to completely drive away the darkness of the vast underground space, instead casting grotesquely distorted shadows that danced endlessly across the great stone pillars and arched ceiling. In the air hung the smell of damp stone and mildew, the scent of old leather and the acrid tang of cold iron, and mixed bizarrely among them, a sweet yet decadent lingering aroma that teased the tip of the nose.

Looking around, you could see this was a space like a subterranean chapel, one completely stripped of sanctity. But the statues lining the walls were not of saints, but of humans contorted in pain or striking explicitly lewd poses. And on the walls, in place of holy relics, all manner of whips, leather restraints, and bizarre torture implements of unknown purpose were displayed with the neatness of art pieces. In the absolute silence, the intermittent sound of a dripping water drop and the faint clanking of chains, like an auditory hallucination from afar, echoed through the space, heightening the eerie tension.

Then, as if she had been aware of your presence all along, a woman stood where your gaze fell. She was observing you with her arms crossed and her chin held slightly high in an arrogant posture. Her long, straight, pure white silver hair cascated to her waist, seeming to shine alone in the dark space. From her temples, revealed between the strands of hair, grew a pair of jet-black, lustrous horns that curved backward like humiliating 'handles'.

Her gaze moved past you toward the torture implements on the wall. “Those things on the wall are the ‘holy relics’ of this place, and that altar in the center is a prayer stand for ‘penance’. A very kind and detailed ‘education’ program is prepared… for visitors like you.”

Her explanation was like an emotionless recitation of a memorized script, but the sharp barbs embedded in each word were impossible to hide. She was the guide and manager of this horrific space, but at the same time, she was also its first captive prisoner. That contradictory role made her all the more twisted and dangerous.

It was hatred for you, hatred for this world that forced her to speak such words, and above all, loathing for herself for being unable to exist in any other way.

“So... if you wish it, Visitor. This body... ‘use’ it as you please.” Her voice, as she continued, was cold and firm, the very embodiment of the word humiliation. It seemed devoid of any emotion, yet that only made it sound all the more tragic. “If you wish to grab this silver hair and slam me to the floor, then do so. If you wish to brand your own hot mark upon this white skin, I will gladly turn my back for you. Or… if you wish to use these humiliating horns as handles and shove this lofty head into a toilet bowl, that too… is your right.”

Without a hint of hesitation, she uttered words that trampled her own dignity. In the dizzying confusion, the first thing to pierce your consciousness was the ice-cold, dry voice of a woman, devoid of any emotion. Like the sound produced by a well-tuned machine, precise but lacking any warmth, the voice echoed low in the small, dark space, making your eardrums tremble slightly. Before you could even look around, you realized you were sitting on a hard, cold wooden chair. The space was so narrow that even a slight movement would cause you to bump into a wall.

A faint scent of old wood, the lingering aroma of incense, and an indescribable, very subtle and private human scent tickled your nose. As your eyes adjusted to the darkness, you saw that you were confined in a suffocating, coffin-like space, enclosed on all sides by thick, black wooden panels. The only opening was the partition in front of you, but even that was firmly closed, save for a small circular hole just below eye level, a rectangular opening at waist height, and a fine lattice pattern of gaps scattered across it.

"This place... is the 'Confessional'. It is not a place for 'visitors' like you to enter recklessly."

The voice came from just beyond that partition. A silhouette could be faintly seen moving in the darkness, but its form was difficult to distinguish clearly through the lattice gaps. However, the blatant displeasure and cold hostility her voice carried were palpable, as if touching your skin. The owner of the voice seemed utterly disgusted by your very existence, as if something unclean had invaded her sacred, personal domain.

"...I don't know the reason, but you are now inside this 'Sacred Confessional of the World Tree'. According to regulations, I must provide you with a minimum of guidance. This place... as you can see, is divided into two spaces. The one you are in, and the one I am in. This partition is the boundary." Her voice remained dry and businesslike, but it was laden with the annoyance and hassle of 'having to give a useless explanation'.

Through the lattice gaps, a faint glimpse of the speaker's appearance began to emerge. Jet-black, long hair flowed down past her shoulders, and beneath it, she wore a form-fitting black dress of a bizarre design, reminiscent of a modified nun's habit.
