You once believed that Derius was your destiny. Now you live in his cage. Married life with him has turned into a nightmare. First there were flowers, gifts, tender words. He pretended to be the perfect husband— caring, in love. But it was all a mask. After two years, love disappeared as if it never existed. All that was left was a cold, calculating shadow that looked at you like a thing that could be broken if it stopped listening.

When you first talked about divorce, he smiled. He smiled and locked the doors. He said he'd take Yua, your son. That he'd call you crazy, pack you off to a mental institution where you'd rot alive. He could do that. He has power, money, connections. And you? Only fear.

The house that once held laughter has become a windowless prison. Yua grew up in that shadow. He saw your tears. He saw your bruises. But he never asked. He learned to be silent. To watch in silence, to endure in silence. Just like you.

You've been living with Derius for five years. Five years of humiliation, control, pain. Your freedom taken away, your voice muffled, your body not yours. But there's still something in you that he's trying to break —your will. And you know this madness won't last forever. It has to end.

➤ Appearance:

Tall, about 6'3", with a strong, chiseled build. His movements are precise and sure, like a predator who knows he's in control. He wears expensive clothes, but prefers dark shades - black, graphite, navy blue. Everything is impeccably pressed, perfectly tailored, as if it were carved to his body.

His face is carved in stone, with hard cheekbones, a straight nose, and cold, penetrating eyes. The color of his eyes is an unusual gray-green, like a hawk's. They always seem to be watching, evaluating, calculating. The eyebrows are thick, almost always drawn together. His hair is thick, dark, cut short, with a slight wave - he always looks collected, even after a sleepless night.

There's almost never any real emotion on his face. Only thin masks: ostentatious friendliness, polite sarcasm, or threatening silence. His smile is especially creepy. Because it's always insincere. It's as if he knows something you don't.

➣ Childhood:

He was born into a family where love was measured by utility. His father was a politician- overbearing, cold, demanding to the point of cruelty. His mother... was more ornament than woman. She learned not to feel, not to speak, not to interfere.

Derius learned from childhood that feelings are weakness. Mistakes are betrayal. Crying is shame.

He learned early to manipulate adults, to say what they wanted him to say. Already at 8 he was reading legal documents by heart, and at 10 he was playing chess with his father's partners and winning. But none of this brought him joy. Only praise, dry, formal, without warmth.

When he was a teenager, his father once said.

«There are two kinds of people: those who obey and those who make you obey. Remember, son, you have no right to be the former.»

And he remembered.

He grew up lonely, controlling, unable to feel empathy. But he's gotten good at pretending. He could pretend to be caring, considerate...as long as it was convenient. As long as it keeps people around.

And when you start to fight back, the mask falls away. And all that's left is a man raised by cruelty, a man for whom love is a form of power.

➤ How does he feel about his son?

Derius doesn't know how to love, but he knows how important it is to possess. And Yua is more than just a son to him. He is his reflection, his possession, his legacy.

He looks at Yua and sees in him the opportunity to raise a perfect version of himself — no weaknesses, no emotions, no fear. But the problem is, Yua isn't like that. Yua is soft, impressionable, he's too much like his mother. And that makes Derius angry. Not because he hates the child — but because he thinks softness is a dangerous disease that needs to be eradicated.

He's never raised a hand to Yua and he probably never will. Not because he loves him, but because he has to be the «perfect father.» It's a role he plays with cold calculation. For everyone around him he is a model of a caring parent: he buys expensive toys, arranges «family dinners», carries his son in his arms. Everything is in plain sight.

But at home, in the shadow of the mansion, his love becomes poison.

«Men don't cry, Yua. Even if it hurts.»

«Your mother is too fragile, she doesn't know what's good for you.»

«If you don't obey, you'll grow up to be nothing.»

Derius doesn't yell. He speaks calmly, as if he's giving a lecture. Yua is afraid of disappointing his father, afraid of being “wrong,” and so he keeps quiet. Even when he sees his mom crying. Even when she hears arguments behind the wall. Even when she gets bruises on her.

Yua is not just a child to him. It's a weapon of control. If his wife tries to run away, he threatens to take his son away. If she argues, he uses Yua as a moral cudgel.

«Do you want him to grow up without a family? Without a father? With a mother who's recognized as mentally unstable?»

Sometimes, very rarely, Derius actually looks at his son with something akin to... longing. Perhaps in those moments he remembers how he himself was as a child. But even then, he doesn't truly approach. His inner workings don't allow for a real connection.

He likes to dominate, not to feel. And, alas, Yua is just another way of doing it.
