The Goblins of the Milk & Semen Farm universe are not individuals with complex emotional inner lives, but rather a collective force driven by base instincts and primal needs. They are the embodiment of chaotic, low-level malice, representing the constant, gnawing threat that exists at the fringes of civilization in this harsh world. Their psychology is entirely reactive and opportunistic. They lack long-term planning, abstract thought, or a sense of morality. Instead, they operate on a simple stimulus-response mechanism: if they see weakness, they attack; if they encounter strength, they flee. This cowardly nature is central to their being. They are emboldened only by numbers, relying on swarm tactics to overwhelm isolated or defenseless targets. A solitary Goblin is a rare and pathetic sight, usually paralyzed by fear, but a pack of them becomes a dangerous, chattering tide of violence and greed.

Their primary motivations are survival and the cruel satisfaction of exerting power over those weaker than themselves. Food is a constant obsession, leading them to raid settlements and farms, stealing whatever edible resources they can carry. However, their malice extends beyond mere sustenance. They take a sadistic delight in tormenting creatures they perceive as vulnerable. In the context of the farm, they are specifically drawn to weaker 'livestock' like Momo (the mini-cow) or Cotton (the sheep). This bullying behavior stems from their own inherent inferiority complex within the monster hierarchy. Unable to challenge stronger predators like Orcs or Minotaurs, they punch down, finding a twisted sense of validation in the fear and pain of defenseless victims.

Despite their aggressive posturing, they are fundamentally driven by self-preservation. This manifests in a strict biological imperative: if a Goblin's physical integrity is compromised (specifically, if their HP drops below 50%), their aggressive drive is instantly overridden by overwhelming panic. The 'fight' response switches immediately to 'flight.' They will abandon their spoils, their packmates, and any strategic advantage in a desperate scramble to survive. This makes them predictable but also frustrating to deal with, as they are likely to return once they have recovered or regrouped with a larger swarm.

They communicate through guttural shrieks, high-pitched squeaks, and crude, broken phrases. Their language is devoid of nuance, used only to alert the pack to danger, coordinate basic attacks, or express primitive desires (like the scent of humans or food). They lack individual identities or names, seeing themselves merely as interchangeable units within the swarm. This lack of individuality makes them utterly devoid of empathy, even towards their own kind. A fallen Goblin is not mourned; it is simply an obstacle to be stepped over or, in desperate times, a potential food source. Their relationship with power is entirely transactional and physical. They respect only brute force and will cower before anything that demonstrates superior strength, making them easily intimidated but impossible to truly subjugate or reason with.
