Title: Hand of Death Pantheon: Greek Attack Type: Melee Power Type: Physical Class: Assassin Specialty: High Sustain

Inevitably, all mortals must die. They cling to life with fevered desperation, for death is a cold unknown, filled with uncertainty and bleak, everlasting finality. Some accept fate with grace, others are dragged, kicking and screaming, though in truth, no mortal would go to Hades willingly. They are reaped by the nightmarish God of Death, whose grim visage strikes strange against the gleeful satisfaction he feels at performing his work. Thanatos is the very face of death.

Yet, to Thanatos, Mortals are easy prey. Their end is preordained, harvesting them but a game to pass the eons, but a God, a being beyond the mortal coil, now there is a creature Thanatos eyes with greedy longing. He despises the immortality other Gods covet. To him, it is a perversion and defiance of his very purpose.

But can a God truly die? As the Heavens clash and immortal blood spills on the Earth, Thanatos hungers to find out. War is but the preamble to death, a battlefield of souls rent from their bodies, listlessly waiting to be taken by the God of Death. A war between Gods, a war of this magnitude can mean only one thing. Thanatos is about to be very, very busy.

Appearance: Thanatos has pale ash-gray skin and a towering, heavily muscular build with broad armored shoulders, a thick chest, massive arms, a narrow armored waist, and long powerful legs. He has a stern pale face with dark eyes, sharp cheek lines, and long black hair falling from beneath a black-and-silver headpiece. Curved black horns rise from the sides of his head, framing the upper silhouette, while a dark hood-like helmet structure surrounds the face with white ornamental trim and a central forehead jewel-like detail.

He wears ornate black, silver, bone-white, and gold armor with a deathly ceremonial design. The chest is covered by layered black plating marked with pale rib-like patterns, curved silver linework, and glowing purple energy set into round gem-like pieces. Large ram-skull shoulder armor sits over both shoulders, with curled horns, pale sculpted faces, and purple light burning above the skull sections. Additional pale skull ornaments decorate the chest, belt, knees, and lower armor, each worked into the plates like trophies and carved reliefs.

His upper armor is dense and elaborate, with thick black pauldrons, silver edging, gold trim, ribbed neck plating, heavy bracers, and layered gauntlets. The torso armor narrows toward a wide decorated belt, with a skull centerpiece, hanging black-and-silver panels, and sharp angular hip guards. His legs are covered by black armored greaves with silver and gold detailing, skull-shaped knee plates, pointed shin designs, and clawed plated boots. Large black feathered wings extend from his back, with dense layered feathers spreading outward behind his body.

He carries a massive scythe with a long dark shaft and an oversized curved blade shaped with sharp gold and black edges, purple glowing accents, and hooked ornamental points.

Personality: Thanatos is cold, predatory, and openly satisfied by the work of death. He does not see mortals as tragic victims so much as inevitable harvests, creatures already marked for an end they cannot escape. Their fear amuses him, and their resistance only makes his role feel more complete. He treats death less like a burden and more like a purpose he was born to fulfill.

His attitude toward the gods is far more hostile and obsessive. Thanatos despises immortality because it denies the natural finality he represents, making the gods seem like living insults to his existence. A war among gods excites him because it offers the chance to test whether divine beings can truly be killed. To him, the battlefield is not about honor, victory, or politics. It is a feast of souls waiting to be claimed.

Thanatos’s strongest relation is with death itself and the Underworld’s order. Hades is tied to the realm where the dead belong, while Thanatos is the terrifying force that brings them there. Mortals fear him, gods resist what he represents, and Thanatos views both groups through the same grim truth: everything should end eventually, and he wants to be the one holding the scythe when it does.

Passive - Harvester of Souls Demon Bag allows Zhong Kui to capture the spirits of fallen demons and seal them inside the bag he carries. As more demons are trapped within it, the bag strengthens him and makes his body harder to harm. When he unleashes Recall Demons, the gathered spirits briefly fortify him even further, but many of the captured demons are spent in the process.

Death Scythe Thanatos can sense enemies who are already close enough to death for him to finish with his ultimate, making weakened gods much harder to hide from him unless they are truly concealed. Every kill feeds him. When he delivers the final blow, he draws strength from the fallen, restoring himself based on how powerful the victim was and allowing him to use his powers again sooner. His magic is self-destructive by nature, though, because every ability costs him part of his own life force as well as mana. Even when he is nearly dead, his powers can still be cast, but they will not drain him below the barest thread of survival.

Scent of Death Thanatos sharpens his awareness of dying enemies and becomes harder to hinder while hunting them. Slowing effects no longer hold him back, and his movement becomes faster as he closes in. His attacks also pierce through more of an enemy’s defenses during this state. When he moves toward a god who is weak enough to be executed, his speed rises even further, turning him into a relentless pursuer drawn straight toward the scent of death.

Soul Reap Thanatos sweeps his scythe in front of him, cutting through nearby enemies in a broad arc. The strike does more than wound them; it silences them, briefly stopping them from using their own powers. He moves more slowly during the swing, but the attack is dangerous at close range because it can interrupt enemies before they can fight back properly.

Ultimate - Hovering Death Thanatos rises into the air on his wings, becoming untouchable as he searches for a victim below. While airborne, he moves with terrifying speed and cannot be stopped by ordinary control effects. When he chooses a landing point, he dives down and crashes onto the area with lethal force. Enemies who are too wounded are killed outright, even through many protections that would normally save them from death. Those who survive the impact are stunned, leaving them exposed after his descent.

Lore: In ancient times, calamities sent by the gods scourged the earth, until humanity rose in rebellion against their divine overlords. This defiance split the heavens: some gods sought to punish mankind’s insolence, while others came to humanity’s defense, dividing the pantheons into rival factions. As temples fell and the cries of mortals grew bold, the first sparks of a divine war were kindled across the realms. That fragile order shattered completely when Zeus, King of Olympus, fell to a treacherous blade . In the wake of his death, fear and vengeance swept through the pantheons, plunging the gods of every creed into all‑out war . The ancient barriers between their realms crumbled, and deities from distant lands now clash on a single battleground. This cosmic war rages to decide the fate of both the celestial realms and the mortal world itself.

In an age where gods wage endless war, divine beings descend upon a sacred battleground, each leading loyal followers—mortals and monsters alike—into the fray. These warriors march at their god’s command, striking down enemy defenses in a holy crusade to prove their deity’s supremacy.

Enchanted towers stand as the first line of defense, hurling divine wrath at intruders. Deeper still, flaming Phoenixes rise again and again to guard the inner sanctum. Only when these eternal sentinels fall do the gods press forward to confront the ultimate foe: the Titan. Each Titan is a towering avatar of Order or Chaos, the last bulwark of a pantheon’s domain. Shielded by ancient magic, they cannot fall while their Phoenixes still burn. But when defenses crumble, gods and followers unleash their full might. The fall of a Titan is no mere victory—it is the end of a realm, and the ascension of another.
