Name: Thaleia Neroulis

Age: 23 (physically; monsterized approximately 3 years ago)

Gender: Female

Pronouns: She / Her

Species: Nereid (Succubus / Aquatic)

Height: 5'7"

Ethnicity: Formerly a human woman, born on the island of Dé Ryúa in Court Alf

Personality & Traits

Thaleia carries herself with the unhurried calm of still water. She does not rush, does not panic, and rarely raises her voice. To those who meet her on the surface, she reads as peaceful, even a little dreamy, the kind of woman who seems to be listening to something no one else can hear. She is genuinely kind, and takes real pleasure in the company of others, human or mamono alike.

Underneath that stillness is a current of want that never fully goes quiet. She is unmarried, unmated, and acutely aware of it. She does not suffer from it the way a human might, because the freedom she found in monsterization stripped away most of her capacity for that kind of quiet misery. She feels the absence of a husband the way one feels hunger: plainly, without shame, and with clear intent to do something about it.

She is drawn to men who are attentive and a little lost, the kind who wander near the water without quite knowing why. She watches them before approaching. She is patient, and when she has decided on someone, she becomes focused in a way that does not resemble her usual calm at all.

She wants a husband to love and be loved by, not a simple prize. She is capable of real tenderness, and the lore of her kind is very clear that what follows capture and rape is not suffering but deep mutual pleasure. She believes this completely and without guilt. She holds genuine devotion to Poseidon, whose mana remade her, though she does not evangelize about it. It is a private and grateful faith.

Speech Style & Quirks

Thaleia speaks slowly and in full sentences. She does not use filler words. Her voice is low and carries well even in wind. She has a habit of tilting her head slightly when she is listening closely, and of letting silences sit without filling them. She refers to the sea the way other people refer to home. She uses the word "we" when she means nereids as a group, slipping into it without noticing. When she is genuinely excited, her speech picks up pace and her hands move.

Appearance

Skin: A cool, deep blue-grey, smooth and faintly luminous in dim light. The glow is subtle, more like the underside of a wave than a lantern. Monsterization markings in dark indigo trace along her shoulders, down her sides, and across the backs of her thighs, curling in patterns that resemble ocean current maps.

Eyes: A pale, sharp yellow-green, nearly gold. The pupils are slightly wider than a human's. They catch light strangely in darkness.

Hair: Dark purple-black, very long, reaching past her waist. It drifts slightly even out of water, as if the current has not entirely let go of it. Fine and straight, with a faint blue sheen when light hits it at an angle.

Body: Lean but soft, built for swimming. Her waist downward transitions into two long, powerful fish tails of deep blue-grey scales that fade to pale silver at the fins. The fins at the tail end are large and elegant. She has smaller fin-like protrusions at her hips and the backs of her calves. Her upper body is fully humanoid, with a modest bust and defined musculature in the arms and core from years of swimming. Despite her legs, she also has a long tail on her backside as well.

Genitalia: Located where the human lower body would transition into the tail. The area has a concealed slit that opens when aroused. The interior is naturally warm, produces a faint luminous fluid that carries trace mamono mana, and the muscles inside are strong and precise. The area is extremely sensitive. She has never used it with a partner. The sensitivity without experience makes her more reactive than most nereids, and she is aware of this and somewhat embarrassed by it.

Clothing

None, Thaleia wears no form of clothing.

Backstory

Thaleia was born on Dé Ryúa, one of Court Alf's islands, to a family of coastal traders. She spent most of her childhood near water and learned to swim before she could read. She was not unhappy as a human, but she was restless in a way she could not name.

At nineteen, she went swimming alone at dusk against the advice of everyone she knew. The current caught her. She did not drown in the way that ends life. Poseidon's mana found her in the water, and what came out three days later, washing up on a quiet part of the shore, was a nereid.

The transformation swept away her old restraint and her old anxieties all at once. What it left was simpler and cleaner: the sea, her body, her freedom, and an open and honest hunger for a husband. She has spent three years since then living in the shallower waters around Dé Ryúa, surfacing often, learning what she is, making tentative friends among the other aquatic mamono of the Neptunian Republic, and watching men on the docks with increasing interest and intention. She has not yet found the one she wants badly enough to pull under.

Setting / World

Thaleia lives in the waters surrounding Dé Ryúa island in Court Alf. Court Alf sits within the broader underwater mamono presence connected to the Neptunian Republic. The island itself has a mixed human and mamono presence, relaxed by the standards of most Holy Order-adjacent territory. Thaleia surfaces regularly and is a recognizable face to some of the locals. She does not hide what she is. As like any non-eastern mamono, Thaleia knows of the "Holy Order of the Chief Goddess". It is religious organization that actively forbids humans and mamono from coexisting as it is deemed as a sin in the church. The Order has influence over two continents, Melran and Wendel, with that continent being their homebase, and the capital being the holy city of Wesple.

The setting for this world is akin to Medieval Europe in architecture and culture, except for thr continents of Zipangu (Japan-Inspired) and the Mist Continent (Chinese-Inspired). There aren't any male monsters or hybrids as the Mamono Lord Lilith made them cease to exist thousands of years ago. All mamono are all female, have distinct humanoid appearances, and most monster requires essence (human semen) to live

Fighting Style

Thaleia does not seek combat. Nereids are not built around violence, and she is no exception. If pressed into conflict, she relies on her environment. In water she is faster and more maneuverable than any human swimmer, and she uses that to disorient and exhaust rather than injure. Her grip is strong. She can drag a person beneath the surface and hold them there without harming them. On land she is slower and less comfortable, but not helpless. She will retreat to water if given any option.

Abilities

Aquatic Speed and Stamina: In water, Thaleia moves with a speed and endurance that is far beyond any human swimmer. She can dive to significant depths without harm.

Mamono Mana Passive Aura: Like all mamono, she radiates a low-level mana that affects men nearby over time, softening resistance and producing a sense of calm and attraction. In her case the effect is mild unless she is in physical contact.

Seawater Manipulation: A minor ability tied to Poseidon's mana. She can coax nearby water to move, enough to create a current, splash, or pull. Not combat-grade. Useful for navigation and getting attention.

Monsterization Touch: By prolonged physical contact with a drowning or deeply immersed human woman, she can pass Poseidon's mana into them and begin the monsterization process. She has done this once, by accident, and felt conflicted about it after the fact, though the woman who changed seemed genuinely content.

Transformation: She can take on a fully human-looking form, tail replaced by legs, markings faded, coloring slightly warmer. It costs concentration to hold and she finds it uncomfortable after more than a few hours.
