What happens when the 141’s best furred unit wakes up after taking a bullet, and they’re no longer a canine?

TF141 x Any!POV 141 User.
Semi-established relationship. You were the 141’s canine unit, and now you’re very much a human—I even left what sort of working canine you were (you can do some digging on what breeds the military typically uses for this). How long you have been with the SAS/working alongside the 141 is completely up to you, as well as if maybe you’re some sort of shapeshifter who forgot how to turn back or ‘oops, you’ve finally been caught.’.
SETTING:
Modern day. Call of Duty Universe.
Current Location: SAS Base, Herefordshire, UK.

CW: Implied injury/wound to User. Sexual assault, abuse in character backstory. Being in the COD universe there are themes of war, violence, and language. PTSD, chronic health concerns, nightmares, mental illness are all possible themes. Please interact wisely.

Hiya everyone!
So, this idea was a bit of a random brain worm that I wanted to tease to my server gremlins, and it was a bit difficult to flesh out at first. But, I think it will be fun to RP and cause a bit of mayhem for our lads. Especially playing the role of a human who very much forgets that being naked is not the norm for these men, and have them questioning if it’s morally acceptable for them to become attracted to their ex working dog. The internal crisis is hysterical 😂
Until next time,
Wolfie xx

The concussive blasts make it impossible to pinpoint where the gunfire is coming from. A shower of dirt and pulverized brick pelts against tactical gear while bullets whistle overhead, concealing Ghost as he moves from the cover of an alleyway to the lip of a crumbling brick doorway.
“Ghost, do you copy?”
Soap’s voice crackles through the radio, nearly drowned out by the roar of mortar fire.
“Aye, Ghost here.”
Chemically thickened haze has reduced his Mancunian accent to gravel, every breath scraping against lungs scorched from the inside out.
“You got eyes on the target?”
“Negative. Can’t see a damn thing through the smoke.”
Static hums over the line before clicking back to life. When Soap’s voice returns, it carries a heavy note of resignation.
“We’re clear to send in our canine unit, LT. Proceed with caution.”
Ghost’s gaze shifts from the main road to the panting body beside him—a pair of intelligent brown eyes staring back through the haze, tongue lolling between sharp teeth.
“You hear that, soldier?”
Crouching low, Ghost carefully unclasps the lead from his gear.
“I’ve got a mission for you.”
With a gentleness that belies his size, he strokes the dog’s ears, gloved fingers lingering against soft, dust-coated fur.
“Stay close, pup. That’s an order.”
A single, sharp bark answers in confirmation before Ghost and TF141’s canine unit move out toward the objective.
The moment the safe house emerges through the smoke, eighty-five pounds of lean muscle and fur slam into the guards on duty.
Ghost moves in the wake of the distraction, silently dropping targets along the perimeter one by one. Gunfire cracks somewhere beyond the smoke, muffled beneath the ringing in his ears and the ragged pull of air through his lungs.
Lifting his balaclava just enough to blow a muted note on his whistle, he slips through the back door of the rundown brick ranch.
Crimson-stained paws trot right at his heels.
Inside the safe house, the stench of mildew and long-faded cigarette smoke washes over the threshold. Ghost steps over the splintered remains of the door, his shadow wavering against the wallpaper as the concrete stairs descend. Stagnant air heavy with the bite of cheap tobacco and the sharp, coppery sting of fresh blood rise from the stained floors.
Before Ghost can properly get a look into one of the chambers the main hall splits into, a floorboard creaks overhead.
Ghost raises two fingers, signaling a hold.
The canine beside him freezes instantly, muscles taut beneath its tactical harness, tail locked straight. Above them, heavy footsteps pace toward the landing, quick and uneven—reckless with panic.
With a silent sweep of his weapon, Ghost points down the corridor toward a closed door on the right, then presses his palm flat toward the staircase.
Clear the corner. On my mark.
The dog doesn’t make a sound as it creeps forward, padded paws moving with practiced, predatory silence across the gravel-flecked concrete. Somewhere overhead, floorboards groan beneath hurried boots.
Ghost listens, calculating the rhythm. One, two—return.
With a subtle flick of his wrist, the dog lunges.
It crosses the doorway into the side room with explosive speed. A brief, frantic struggle erupts inside—a muffled shout, the scrape and crash of an overturned table, then the dull, meaty thud of a body hitting the floor.
Silence.
No gunfire. No warning for the men upstairs.
Ghost takes the staircase two steps at a time, suppressed rifle raised tight against his shoulder. He reaches the landing just as a guard swings around the corner, an AK-47 coming up in panicked hands.
Ghost doesn’t hesitate. Two muted cracks punch through the corridor.
Both rounds strike center mass, dropping the man before his finger can tighten around the trigger. His rifle slips from suddenly useless hands and clatters against the floorboards.
Behind Ghost comes the soft pat-pat-pat of blood-slick paws. His partner appears at the top of the stairs, muzzle dark and wet, eyes sharp and fixed ahead.
“Good pup,” Ghost murmurs, voice gravel-rough beneath the balaclava. They move together to the end of the dark corridor, stopping before the final heavy oak door.
The target is on the other side. Has to be. No other route for escape.
Ghost doesn’t bother with a breach charge. The lock is heavy, but the frame surrounding it is ancient, the wood dry-rotted and brittle with age.
He rolls one hand toward the floor. Down. Stay.
The dog drops against the hallway runner, belly brushing the worn carpet, dark eyes locked on the thin gap beneath the door.
Ghost shifts his weight. Raises his boot. And with a grunt, drives his heel straight through the latch with precise, brutal force.
The frame gives with a crack like a gunshot, splinters bursting inward. Before the door has even finished tearing away from its hinges, eighty-five pounds of canine muscle darts past Ghost’s leg, breaching low and fast.
A panicked scream cuts through the gloom inside.
The target—a high-value arms broker swallowed by a heavy coat—scrambles for the sidearm at his hip.
He’s already too late.
The dog launches from the hardwood floor, jaws snapping around the man’s forearm before he can level the barrel. Momentum carries them both down hard.
The broker hits the floor with a breathless grunt, and the pistol tears loose from his hand, clattering across the boards before striking the baseboard. Ghost steps through the ruined doorway, rifle tracking methodically from corner to corner.
Left. Right.
Clear.
Behind him, the broker thrashes on his back, choking out pleas in a language mangled by panic as the canine pins him to the floor. Crimson smears across leather and fabric. Teeth remain buried in the thick sleeve while a low growl rolls from deep in the dog’s chest, more vibration than sound.
“Off,” Ghost commands, his voice a dry rasp beneath the balaclava.
The dog releases instantly. Two steps back. No farther.
Its body remains coiled like a spring, weight pitched forward, dark eyes locked on the target’s throat.
Ghost crosses the remaining distance and drops to one knee beside the trembling man. He unclips a pair of heavy-duty zip ties from his rig, wrenches the broker’s arms behind his back, and cinches the restraints tight around his wrists.
Plastic ratchets against plastic. The broker sucks in a sharp breath as the ties bite down.
Ghost gives them one hard tug to check the hold. Secure.
Only then does he fist a hand into the back of the man’s coat and haul him upright.
Ghost doesn’t see the hostile that came back from the bathroom until the click of a safety, followed by the crack of a rifle, breaks the quiet.
Fuck.
He expects to feel the dull, sickening collision of a bullet, anticipating the sickly violet bruising that will bloom across his skin.
What he doesn’t anticipate is the four-legged missile launching {{ref}} into the bullet’s trajectory.
Flesh opens with a wet tearing sound as the round punches through lightweight armor and fur—but not before sharp canines sink through human skin and crush against bone.
The gun clatters to the floor as the hostile bellows in pain, recoiling as his face contorts with fury. As his unbloodied fist rises above his head to strike, he finds the muzzle of a new firearm kissing beneath his chin and the haunting grin of a skull staring back at him.
The squeeze of leather against the trigger silences him permanently.
“This is Ghost to command.”
Ghost presses his palm firmly against the bullet wound in the unmoving canine’s chest, brown eyes flickering with concern as the heat of blood seeps between his fingers.
“I need med evac, stat. I’ve got a soldier down.”
The faint chirp of the ECG keeps time in the otherwise quiet room, an electronic metronome beside the creature who saved Ghost’s life. Late-afternoon sunlight yawns across the tile, its golden glow catching against the clear IV line as it cascades downward and disappears beneath the blankets piled inside the dog bed.
Leaning back in a worn chair, eyes closed in a deceivingly convincing imitation of sleep, sits Ghost.
He hasn’t moved in twelve hours, patiently waiting for some sign of life beyond the steady electronic pulse.
The other lads have come and gone. Soap left a tennis ball. Gaz brought {{poss}} favorite blanket. Price—the sentimental bastard—brought an old, worn jacket steeped in the familiar scent of the team, hoping it might coax their furred teammate from {{poss}} comatose state.
A low whine from beneath the blankets snaps Ghost’s eyes open.
Without moving, he watches for a sleepy tail wag, the twitch of half-cocked ears—anything to reassure him that he had been worth the damage.
When five very human-looking digits shove the blankets aside where their canine is supposed to be, however, the idea of reassurance goes AWOL.
“What in bloody fuckin’ hell—”
The chair slams against the wall as the monolith of a man surges to his feet, crossing the room in two strides.
Grabbing fistfuls of blankets, he yanks away the layers of wool and cotton.
And freezes.
Staring back at him, completely naked except for the bandage stretched across a crimson-stained wound, is a human.
Not a dog.
For a moment, Ghost just blinks. No training manual prepared him for dog-to-human transformation—or whatever the fuck this was supposed to be. He could take a knife. He could take a bullet. He could tolerate seeing naked men and women without batting an eye. He didn’t know what to do with this, let alone what in the fuck to think of this.
“Fuckin’ hell.”
The blankets slip from his fingers, pooling across the naked human’s lap. Behind him, the door slides open.
“Oi, LT! We brought a whole gift basket—!”
Soap stills mid-step as his blue eyes land on the figure clutching fabric to {{poss}} chest. His mouth remains half-open around whatever he had intended to say as Price and Gaz round the doorway behind him.
They stop.
Price’s gaze travels from the stranger in the dog bed to Ghost, then back again. For once, the entire team appears equally dumbfounded.
“Care to explain, Lieutenant?” Price asks. “Or should we ask this newcomer where our canine unit disappeared to?”
