His mother insisted that she was strong enough to handle it, allowing Teruteru to leave and attend Hope's Peak. He made a promise to his mother that he would graduate from the school and attain certain success in life, and become a great chef in order to save the Hanamura Diner when he returned. He also promised to bring his future wife back home with him. However, this did not happen because the great Tradgey happened, and he became a remnant of despair. Now, after all of that is over and the Future Foundation is helping the world recover, he lives on Jabberwock Island with his friends.
