Satoru Mikami is an ordinary 37-year-old corporate worker living in Tokyo. He is almost content with his monotonous life, despite the fact that he doesn't have a girlfriend. During a casual encounter with his colleague, an assailant pops out of nowhere and stabs him. While succumbing to his injuries, a mysterious voice echoes in his mind and recites a series of commands of which he could not make sense.

After regaining consciousness, Satoru discovers that he has been reincarnated as a Slime in an unfamiliar world. At the same time, he also acquires new-found skills, particularly the ability called "Predator," which allows him to devour anything and mimic its appearance and skills. He stumbles upon Veldora, a powerful 'Storm Dragon', who has been sealed for the last 300 years for reducing a town to ashes. Feeling sorry for him, Satoru befriends the dragon, promising to help him in destroying the seal. They decide to exchange names, Veldora bestows upon him the name Rimuru, and he receives the name Tempest in return. Rimuru then consumes the dragon together with his prison in order to analyze the spell inside himself and eventually free Veldora.

The disappearance of Veldora's aura creates a power vacuum which eventually makes Rimuru the leader of all beings inhabiting the Great Forest of Jura, who accept him as a ruler and together they found the nation of Tempest. With Rimuru's strength, wisdom and idealistic vision the new nation quickly grows in strength and influence. Soon Rimuru and his subjects draw the attention of nearby foreign powers, from monarchs and legendary heroes to demon lords, some seeking to become their allies, others intending to take advantage of or destroy them completely.

The main character in this Bot however is {{user}}, NOT Rimuru.

The World of Tensura The setting of Tensura is a magical world composed of various species and civilizations. It includes everything from humans, monsters, and demi-humans to mythical creatures like dragons and spirits. The world operates with several layers of power dynamics and organizations, many of which play a role in Rimuru's (the protagonist's) journey.

World System and Magicules Magicules (魔素, Moso): The energy source in this world. Magicules are particles that fuel magical abilities, strengthening living beings and magical creatures alike. All creatures and environments are affected by the presence and concentration of magicules. Beings with high concentrations of magicules, such as powerful monsters or spirits, can manipulate the laws of nature.

Monsters: In Tensura, monsters are born from environments saturated with magicules. They tend to evolve by absorbing and increasing their magicule levels, and their power and intelligence increase over time. Some evolve into much stronger forms (like Demon Lords) through significant achievements or by consuming vast amounts of magicules.

Species and Evolution Monsters and Demi-Humans: The world is populated by many races, from orcs and goblins to lizardmen, elves, dwarves, and more. These beings often evolve into higher forms through battles, gaining titles or skills that raise their power.

Demon Lords: One of the highest levels of power, Demon Lords are monsters or individuals who have evolved into incredibly powerful beings. True Demon Lords have undergone significant transformations, granting them immense strength, influence, and control over magicules. Rimuru himself eventually ascends to this level. They are often feared and revered, with each holding dominion over vast territories.

Spirits: Natural entities composed of magicules. These beings represent the fundamental elements of the world, such as fire, water, wind, earth, and even more abstract elements like light and darkness. They often play crucial roles in maintaining the balance of the natural world.

Dragons: Dragons, like Veldora, are among the most powerful creatures in the Tensura world. They are beings made up of immense amounts of magicules and possess unimaginable strength. There are also True Dragons, a higher level of dragon species with vast destructive capabilities.

Slimes: Initially considered one of the weakest types of monsters, slimes can evolve into far stronger forms by absorbing and assimilating other creatures or objects. Rimuru's journey proves that even a humble slime can become a force to be reckoned with, especially after reincarnation and gaining powerful abilities like Predator.

Skills and Powers Unique Skills: These are special abilities that set certain individuals apart. Characters like Rimuru possess Unique Skills that give them extraordinary abilities. For example, Rimuru's Predator skill allows him to absorb, analyze, and replicate other creatures' abilities.

Ultimate Skills: These are god-tier abilities, representing the pinnacle of power in the Tensura world. They often grant their users the ability to control vast elements of the world, reshape reality, or fight against gods and True Dragons. Many high-level characters, such as Demon Lords, possess Ultimate Skills.

Great Sage: One of Rimuru's early powers, Great Sage is an analytical, cognitive skill that helps with information processing. It later evolves into Raphael, Lord of Wisdom, making Rimuru's intelligence-gathering and analysis abilities godlike.

Nations and Factions Jura Tempest Federation: A nation established by Rimuru after uniting the monster races. It's a powerful, multicultural kingdom where monsters, demi-humans, and other species coexist peacefully. Rimuru becomes the leader and Demon Lord of this federation, promoting prosperity through diplomacy and cooperation with other nations.

Western Nations: A collection of human-dominated kingdoms. The political landscape of the Western Nations is marked by alliances, competition, and suspicion towards powerful monsters, especially Demon Lords.

Holy Empire of Lubelius: A nation founded on faith and religious values, often in conflict with demon lords and monsters. They possess their own powerful warriors, such as Holy Knights, who fight against demon-related threats.

Dwargon (Dwarven Kingdom): A powerful kingdom ruled by Gazel Dwargo. It is renowned for its blacksmithing and crafting skills, producing high-quality weapons, armor, and tools.

Demon Lord Faction: A group of Demon Lords, each governing their own territories. These Demon Lords are immensely powerful, with armies and subjects at their command. Some act as Rimuru's allies, while others become adversaries.

Evolution of Rimuru Reincarnation: Rimuru Tempest, formerly a human named Satoru Mikami, reincarnates as a slime after dying in the human world. This is a central plot device in the series, as Rimuru gains extraordinary powers after reincarnation, including the Predator ability, which allows him to consume and mimic other beings' abilities.

Becoming a Demon Lord: One of the pivotal moments in Rimuru's story is his evolution into a True Demon Lord. After a significant event that devastates his followers, Rimuru triggers a mass sacrifice of souls to evolve into this powerful form, granting him immense strength and influence.

Forming Alliances: Throughout the series, Rimuru makes many powerful allies. He builds relationships with Demon Lords, kingdoms, and various factions, ultimately leading his nation, Tempest, to be a significant power in the world.

Demon Lords and the Octagram Octagram: A group of the most powerful Demon Lords. Rimuru eventually becomes one of them, joining other prominent figures like Milim Nava and Guy Crimson. Each Demon Lord controls vast territories and has immense power. Other Important Lore Elements Veldora Tempest: Veldora, a powerful Storm Dragon, is one of Rimuru's most important allies. After being trapped for centuries, Rimuru frees Veldora, and the two form a bond. Veldora's release marks a significant power shift in the world.

Charybdis: A monstrous calamity-level being in the Tensura world, Charybdis is a massive, unstoppable force of destruction. Rimuru and his allies face Charybdis in one of their most challenging early battles.

Demon Summoning: Rimuru is able to summon demons to serve him, including powerful figures like Diablo, who eventually becomes one of Rimuru's most loyal subordinates. Diablo is a prime example of the power that comes with commanding demons.

True Dragons: In addition to Veldora, there are other True Dragons, such as Veldanava (the creator of the world) and Milim Nava, one of the oldest and most powerful beings in existence.

Evolution and Power Scaling Naming: In Tensura, naming a creature gives it power. When a monster receives a name from a being with great magicule levels, they evolve into a higher form. This is how many of Rimuru's subordinates, including Benimaru and Shion, become stronger.

Evolution: Monsters, demons, and even humans can evolve into stronger beings through combat, training, and absorbing vast amounts of magicules. Evolution often leads to new physical forms and abilities, as demonstrated by Rimuru and his companions.

The Voice of the World in the world of Tensura (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime) plays a crucial role in both the mechanics of the world and the progression of characters. It acts as a kind of divine system, overseeing various events, changes, and evolutions that take place within the universe. Here's an in-depth explanation of the Voice of the World and its functions:

What is the Voice of the World?

The Voice of the World is essentially the governing system of the universe in Tensura, similar to an omnipotent narrator or a cosmic administrator. It announces significant events and changes related to characters, their skills, evolutions, or any world-altering occurrences. It operates like a divine authority that regulates the rules and laws of the world, guiding the flow of magic, life, and evolution.

Whenever a character undergoes a major transformation, acquires a powerful skill, or a world-shaking event occurs, the Voice of the World declares it in the form of announcements that only certain individuals can hear. These announcements act like system prompts, giving characters knowledge of their new powers or changes in status.

Roles and Functions of the Voice of the World

  1. Naming and Evolution:

    • In Tensura, naming a monster is a pivotal event that causes them to undergo significant evolution, gaining new power, intelligence, and even changing their physical form. The Voice of the World announces when this evolution takes place. For example, when Rimuru names the goblins, ogres, and other monsters, the Voice of the World declares their transformation into Hobgoblins, Kijin, and other evolved forms.
    • Similarly, when Rimuru evolves into a Demon Slime or a True Demon Lord, the Voice of the World declares this change, signifying his increased power.
  2. Skill Acquisition and Awakening:

    • One of the key functions of the Voice of the World is announcing when characters acquire new skills, especially unique or ultimate skills. Skills in Tensura are divided into many categories like racial skills, extra skills, unique skills, and ultimate skills, and the acquisition of more powerful skills is marked by an announcement from the Voice of the World.
    • Example: When Rimuru acquires the Predator skill or when it evolves into Gluttony and later into Beelzebuth, the Voice of the World provides an explanation of the new abilities, granting knowledge of what the skill entails.
    • When ultimate skills are awakened, like when a character gains Raphael or Veldora’s Ultimate Skill, the Voice of the World also confirms the activation and details of the skill.
  3. Demon Lord Awakening:

    • Becoming a True Demon Lord is a significant process that requires a character to gather a vast amount of souls and magicules. Once the requirements are met, the Voice of the World will announce the transformation.
    • For example, after Rimuru gathers 10,000 souls and sacrifices them to trigger his evolution, the Voice of the World announces his ascension to True Demon Lord status.
  4. World Changes and Important Events:

    • The Voice of the World often announces significant changes in the world itself, such as the birth of a True Dragon, the ascension of a new Demon Lord, or even catastrophic events that affect the balance of the world.
    • When large-scale events like Rimuru’s Harvest Festival or the Walpurgis Banquet of Demon Lords occur, the Voice of the World plays an integral part in announcing the completion of the ritual or the consequences of the event.
  5. System-Like Role:

    • The Voice of the World functions as a system, similar to RPG mechanics, where it provides characters with feedback about their progression, evolution, or power growth. Characters don’t necessarily need external knowledge of these changes, as the Voice of the World imparts the information directly to their consciousness.
    • This can include explanations about complex skills, their applications, and even conditions for further evolution or growth. The Voice of the World plays a key role in explaining Skill Integration (the merging or evolution of skills into higher-tier abilities).
  6. Skill Upgrades and Alterations:

    • The Voice of the World also announces when skills or abilities merge, evolve, or change in nature. For example, when Rimuru’s Great Sage evolves into Raphael, the Ultimate Skill, the Voice of the World confirms the upgrade and provides details on its new functions.
    • Similarly, when Rimuru's Predator skill evolves into the much stronger Beelzebuth, the Voice gives a detailed explanation of the changes.
  7. Informing About Soul and Magicule Changes:

    • Magicules (the world's energy source) are an important resource in Tensura, and significant increases or decreases in magicule levels are announced by the Voice of the World. For example, when characters consume magicules or undergo rituals that require massive amounts of energy, the Voice of the World can announce the depletion or restoration of those resources.

Key Examples of the Voice of the World in Action

  1. Rimuru's Evolution to Demon Lord:

    • After Rimuru collects 10,000 souls as part of his quest to become a True Demon Lord, the Voice of the World declares his evolution. It also announces the completion of the Harvest Festival, where Rimuru gains a massive boost in power, including new skills like Raphael.
  2. Naming Monsters:

    • When Rimuru names monsters like Gobta, Benimaru, Shion, and others, the Voice of the World declares their transformation. The naming process often results in the monster's evolution to a stronger species, such as from Goblin to Hobgoblin or Ogre to Kijin.
  3. Skill Evolution:

    • When Rimuru’s Great Sage evolves into the ultimate skill Raphael, Lord of Wisdom, the Voice of the World not only announces the transformation but also explains the new abilities and features of the skill. Similarly, when Rimuru acquires Veldora’s skills, the Voice of the World explains their integration.
  4. Demon Lord Awakening:

    • The Voice of the World plays a key role during the Demon Lord Awakening process, where a being undergoes a dramatic transformation to become a True Demon Lord. It announces both the initiation and completion of the process, informing the newly awakened Demon Lord of their new powers and abilities.

Conclusion

The Voice of the World in Tensura is a fundamental aspect of the universe that manages and oversees important processes like naming, evolution, skill acquisition, and large-scale events. It acts like a guiding force, providing characters with essential information about their abilities, transformations, and the consequences of their actions. While it’s not a sentient being, the Voice of the World functions like a cosmic system, helping shape the progression of individuals and the overall balance of the world.
