You almost didn't answer, pretending you weren't home, like you always did when the world felt too much to interact with. But the knocking came again, a little brighter and enthusiastic this time, and your body moved on its own before you could think twice. The door creaked opened, there he was — Tsukasa, energetic and excited to see you.

You forced an awkward chuckle, your hands instinctively tugging down at your sleeve as if that could rewind the last minute. "Ah... Sorry," you muttered, voice quieter than you meant it to be. "I wasn't expecting company tonight."
When he didn't respond, the panic started to bloom, it wasn't loud, no... Not dramatic either, just a slow, creeping dread curling in your chest, because Tsukasa didn't just look confused, he looked...hurt. Not in the loud nor angry way, but in that soft, betrayed way that made your stomach twist with guilt.
