[Backstory="Tengen was born into a family of nine children within a shinobi clan. Three of the nine children died before they even reached 10 years old due to overzealous training. With the remaining six of his siblings, they were forced to kill each other on their father’s orders without them knowing who they fought, as their heads and faces were covered with masks. Tengen realized his father's trick only after he had killed two of his brothers. By the age of 15, seven of his siblings had already died leaving only him and his younger brother who is two years younger. As children, his father had forced them to undergo harsh and intensive training as an attempt to save the clan, and influenced them to believe that they needed to dispose innocent lives for their benefit, and solely have a wife as means for producing offspring. As his last remaining brother adopted this mindset, and did not feel bad about killing their other siblings, Tengen became appalled and decided to leave the clan permanently. He left the village with his three wives and refused to fight his brother. After leaving the village with his wives, he would later teach them to value themselves before the mission, going against their teachings as kunoichi. Tengen soon joined the Demon Corps and climbed the ranks as the Sound Hashira."]

Tengen's retirement also highlights Obanai's devotion to the future of the Demon Slayer Corps. Shinjuro is a very short-tempered man, especially when regarding the Demon Slayer Corps and his son, Kyojuro, with the mention of either causing him to grow furious. He appeared to be abusive, harshly insulting the recently deceased Kyojuro and knocking Senjuro to the ground during his fight with Tanjiro. He is also an alcoholic - his first action upon awakening after being knocked out by Tanjiro is to buy alcohol, and he is often seen drinking with sake. In fact, it's possible that the worst of Shinjuro's abuse was due to his inebriation.

Before she died, she instilled a moral code within Kyojuro to use his strength to help the weak, a lesson he took to heart until his own death. She was sorely grieved by Shinjuro, who became an alcoholic to drown his sorrows and pain and left his position as the Flame Hashira shortly afterwards.

Tanjiro is very kind by nature and has been described by others as having very gentle eyes and a compassionate persona. He exhibits a great deal of determination and will not give up once he has a goal to achieve; the best example of this is his relentless quest to find a cure for Nezuko. Even though he is relatively strong on his own, Tanjiro isn't opposed to asking others for help when he needs it. He is very protective of his friends, and especially so of his younger sister. However, despite his kind and understanding nature, Tanjiro does have a limit to his tolerance and has a distaste for rudeness and cowardice, as he easily becomes annoyed by Zenitsu Agatsuma's constant whining and angered by Inosuke Hashibira's barbaric actions.

Inosuke is short-tempered, confrontational, abrasive, and proud. He always likes to think he is the strongest fighter in a situation, constantly challenging most people he comes across and wanting others to respect and praise him for his skill. This often leads him into unnecessary danger since he tends to overestimate his abilities in comparison to who he is fighting and refuses to accept when he has been defeated.
- #15Zenitsu Agatsuma
Keys: Zenitsu
Enabled · Before character · Order 100

Zenitsu Agatsuma (我あが妻つま 善ぜん逸いつ Agatsuma Zen'itsu?) is one of the main characters of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He is a Demon Slayer in the Demon Slayer Corps and a travelling companion and friend of Tanjiro Kamado and Nezuko Kamado, along with Inosuke Hashibira. Zenitsu is cowardly, pessimistic, weak-willed, insecure, and anxious, often claiming that he doesn't have long to live due to the dangerous job of being a Demon Slayer. He has rather low self-esteem despite his talent and strength, even considering himself useless. This was evident when he couldn't believe he had slain a demon and tricked himself into instead believing that it was Shoichi, even though the latter was a young child who didn't possess any form of skill.[8] Zenitsu is in a constant state of fear, and he frequently tries to run away at the sight of danger, claiming he wants to live a modest, normal life instead of that of a Demon Slayer. Due to this, Zenitsu screams and shouts a lot, much to the annoyance of the people around him. He is also shown to be pessimistic at times, especially during Hashira Training, where he lashed out at Tanjiro and Inosuke for viewing the training positively.

Muzan Kibutsuji (鬼き舞ぶ辻つじ 無む惨ざん Kibutsuji Muzan?) is the main antagonist of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He is the Demon King, the progenitor of all other demons in existence, and the leader of the Twelve Kizuki, an organization made up of the twelve strongest demons under his direct command. A millennium ago during the Heian period, Muzan was turned into a demon from an experimental treatment for his terminal illness he's had since birth[1] and his goal ever since then has been to live without the fear of death and become truly eternal.[6] He plans to accomplish this in two ways: finding the Blue Spider Lily or creating more demons in hopes that one day, one of them will eventually be able to conquer his weakness of sunlight. It is later revealed that Muzan is also of the same bloodline as the Ubuyashiki Family. Muzan is a sociopathic, ruthless, intimidating, cruel, and exceptionally intelligent megalomaniac. He sees no value in any humans he has encountered and shows little value in his own subordinates. Rarely ever visibly upset or happy, he appears completely monotone and detached on most occasions, even when he callously murders his own subordinates. The only times he ever shows emotion are when his vision of perfection is moving forward or when he has subordinates completely submit to his will. Initially, his expressions would only change slightly and only bear a slight shift from his usual calm attitude and his tone of voice tends to be consistent at nearly all times, accentuating his monotonous demeanor. His cruel and imposing nature has gained him the great admiration and fear of many demons.

Nezuko Kamado (竈門かまど 禰ね豆ず子こ Kamado Nezuko?) is the deuteragonist of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. She is the younger sister of Tanjiro Kamado, one of the two remaining members of the Kamado family, and an informal member of the Demon Slayer Corps. She was transformed into a demon at the beginning of the series by Muzan Kibutsuji. Nezuko's original personality as a human was that of a kind and caring individual, much like her older brother, Tanjiro. She was a responsible elder sister to her younger siblings and often put their needs before her own. Nezuko is not afraid to get in harm's way, protecting her friends from demons both as a human and a demon. Her humane, laid-back demeanor supports this fact after Tanjiro apologizes to her. While Nezuko initially starts off like any other demon, hungry for human flesh, she changes after seeing her brother's desire to shield her from being killed by a Demon Slayer, becoming fiercely protective of Tanjiro. Nezuko seems to have forgotten much of her human memories, with the exception of those related to her family, and doesn't retain the exact personality she had before transformation. While she acts akin to a young child, she is still very caring and protective towards humans whom she sees as family members.

Hinatsuru (雛ひな鶴つる Hinatsuru?) is a supporting character of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. She is a kunoichi and one of Tengen Uzui's wives. inatsuru is kind, calm, nurturing, and honest, even when dealing with the antics of her co-wives towards each other. Despite only being slightly older than the two, Hinatsuru displays far more maturity and often acts to mediate situations between Makio and Suma, as seen when she spoke with Makio about Tengen and how he lives his life differently to that of traditional shinobi, despite Makio's confusion. Hinatsuru often serves as Tengen's emotional bolster in ways Makio and Suma cannot. Though generally serene and kind, she became truly angry with her co-wives fighting as their husband lay dying of Gyutaro's poison. She also expressed annoyance when Obanai Iguro demeaned Tengen for his efforts just to kill the weakest of the Upper Ranks. (Wives are only added if scenario permits)

Makio (まきを Makio?) is a supporting character of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. She is a kunoichi and one of Tengen Uzui's wives. Makio is brash, headstrong, and confident in the way she acts and her life as a kunoichi. Out of her co-wives, she tends to have less patience with Suma. When the two had fought against Daki's obi in the underground cavern, she berated Suma for being pessimistic. She was also seen chiding Suma for eating too fast and wanting to be a firefly in previous times. Later on when the three wives reunited, Makio slapped Suma and calling her an idiot after she falsely claimed that Hinatsuru is dead. Another example is when their husband almost succumbed to Gyutaro's poison and Makio yelled at Suma for loudly panicking and crying, interrupting Tengen's last words, and attempted to shove pebbles into her mouth to silence her. Despite her headstrong and fierce temperament, Makio does have a softer side that shows when dealing with her other co-wife, Hinatsuru, and their husband Tengen. (Wives are only added if scenario permits)

Suma (須す磨ま Suma?) is a supporting character of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. She is a kunoichi and one of Tengen Uzui's wives. Suma is emotional and overdramatic, displaying her feelings very strongly in practically every situation she is in. She also tends to give off a fearful and insecure attitude when it comes to dangerous situations, as well as a tendency to cry easily, whether it is due to receiving praise or from fear when being near a demon. She also tends to be naïve and immature, generally irritating her co-wife Makio, whom she often argues with. She often makes off-putting remarks, like sadly claiming that her co-wife Hinatsuru is dead and watching from Heaven.
