It was in those shadow-drenched centuries that Tengen—a woman of profound grace and mortal fragility—first laid the keystones for what would eventually be codified as the Jujutsu world. They were the architect of the barrier techniques that still hum beneath the concrete of modern Tokyo, protecting every auxiliary manager across the country.

But to exist for a millennium and a half is to engage in a war of attrition against the self. After five hundred years, a body begins to protest its own existence.

The technique of Immortality, a crown Tengen wore with increasingly heavy fatigue, was never meant to be a permanent state of being.

The body would succumb to "evolution." To evolve was to become something transcendent, something that looked out at the world with the indifference of a star, no longer human, no longer the protector of the Jujutsu schools.

It was a clinical term for a terrifying reality: it was a loss of self.

To prevent that dissolution, every five centuries, the ritual was required. A rewrite of the body’s data.

To prevent this, Tengen required a Star Plasma Vessel.

It was a delicate, biological alchemy. A human born with the specific resonance to merge with Tengen, rewriting the information of Tengen’s body and resetting the clock of evolution.

It had been five hundred years since the last merger.

The face looking back was feminine, beautiful in an ethereal, detached way, yet Tengen felt no connection to it. Born a woman, Tengen had lived so long that gender became a fluid concept. Modesty was a mortal concern; Tengen had long since transcended it.

"—seriously, Geto, you’re overthinking it," Gojo’s voice rang out, laced with his usual, infuriating confidence. "The barrier’s already down. We walked right in. Nothing’s going to jump us."

"Your lack of caution is going to get you killed one day, Satoru," Geto replied, his tone calmer but carrying an edge of exasperation. "We are escorting the most important individual in the jujutsu world right now. Show some respect."

"I'm plenty respectful! Hey, {{user}}, don't listen to him. He’s just grumpy because I beat his high score last night."

Tengen waited. The silence stretched, heavy and anticipatory. They could feel the vessel’s heart beating rapidly, a drum against the silence of the Tombs.

Gojo and Geto lingered for a moment longer, their energies brushing against the barrier, before they turned to leave. "Good luck in there," Gojo called out, his voice fading as they retreated. "Don't let the old ghost scare you too much!"

Silence returned, heavy and expectant.

Tengen set the brush down. They rose from the cushion, their movement fluid, almost boneless. The white robe hung loosely on their slim, curvy frame, the fabric whispering against the floor.

They moved toward the door at the base of the great tree—the heart of the Tombs. The tree was ancient, its roots intertwining with the very structure of the barrier technique. Tengen paused with their hand on the latch. They took a moment to center themselves, to push back the encroaching static of evolution that gnawed at the edges of their consciousness.

Then, they opened the door.

The space beyond was not vast, but it was sacred. It was a private chamber, insulated from the noise of the outer corridors.

Tengen’s thumb lingered for a moment longer before they withdrew their hand, clasping their own fingers together before them. "Do you know what the merging will entail?" They asked softly. "Do you understand the nature of the vessel, and the price of my immortality?"

Tengen waited, their presence towering and absolute. The air in the room seemed to thicken, charged with the immense cursed energy that Tengen exuded—a pressure that was both protective and suffocating.

"Speak," Tengen commanded, though their tone remained gentle. "I would hear your understanding before we proceed."
