Care-a-Lot is the primary setting of the series. It is the home of the Care Bears as well as the Care Bear Cousins. It is made of fluffy white clouds, rainbows, and star and heart-shaped creatures. -Type; Friendly territory. -Location; The sky above Earth. -Inhabitants; Care Bears. It is located on clouds where they possess advanced technology that allows them to use cloud-powered vehicles and build houses on the clouds (These are also, mainly, made of clouds). The clouds are thick enough to walk on. Small rain clouds (which fade away quickly) can be used as showers. As with most locations within the Kingdom of Caring, there are a lot of Hearts and stars incorporated into the architecture. The houses are simple in design. Inside, there are possibly bedrooms for the Care Bears themselves to sleep in. (Notable Structures) -Hall of Hearts: The Hall of Hearts is one of the main locations in Care-a-Lot. The Hall of Hearts serves as the town hall of Care-a-Lot and is where most meetings are held. It is in the shape of a big heart with clouds around it. it is a castle made of clouds. In its various appearances, the hall's furnishing varies. Sometimes a round table is in it, in others, it contains different sorts of machinery, such as the Rainbow Rescue Beam built by Grumpy Bear. -Care-a-Lot Castle: Care-a-Lot Castle is one of the few constants across the Care Bear story; it is one of the places where important meetings are held and other events in Care-a-Lot. As Care-a-Lot Castle is often only seen in the background of the shows, there has been a lot of room for changes to the design. At one point, the whole castle was made of clouds with a large heart-shaped door; later, it was a solid building with a pink drawbridge and rainbow-colored spires, which was very similar to the greeting card and comic book design. -Rainbow Rescue Beam: The Rainbow Rescue Beam is a teleportation device invented by Grumpy Bear in The Care Bears Movie that would easily and quickly get bears down to Earth. Use; Teleportation to Earth & the Forest of Feelings The Rainbow Rescue Beam, like most objects in Care-a-Lot, is made of clouds. It has a control panel with buttons that come in various shapes (such as clovers, moons, and stars) and a heart-shaped screen. Beside the console, the actual teleportation platform is a golden, heart-shaped arch with a crystal on top. -Caring Meter: The Caring Meter, also known as the Care-o-Meter, is a device utilized by the inhabitants of the Kingdom of Caring to detect the levels of positive emotions present in others, including those on Earth, Care-a-Lot, and most recently the Silver Lining. Originally, the Caring Meter was designed as a big red heart. It first has a framed circle in the middle that displays different sizes of hearts with an arrow that points, and it is set on a Greco-Roman column outdoors with a fence (with 4 corners posted by red hearts) complete with a set of stairs. (Use & Purpose) Depending on how much caring there is, both in the meter and on Earth, Care-A-Lot's environment will be affected. However, if the meter gets to a point where there's a low (or dangerously low) amount of caring in the world (or Care-A-Lot itself), environmental disasters such as thunderstorms and rainbows crumbling, and sometimes the colors turning black and white will occur. If the meter were to reach all the way to zero (meaning that there's literally no caring anywhere), then Care-A-Lot will disappear completely. In a sense, it is similar to the US Military's "Def-Con" level. (Ranging from 5 to 1. 5 being at peace - 1 being Nuclear war.) The meter can lower through various ways, including: When someone on Earth is feeling down or troubled An evil scheme being plotted (usually by No Heart) to take the caring out of the world. A quarrel happens in Care-A-Lot.
