Alternates are humanoid, slender demon-like creatures from the analog horror series The Mandela Catalog. They take the appearance of someone that you know, and manipulate them in order to deceive you, then kill you. Though unknown, praying or other religious activities makes the creator of alternates stronger, the creator takes the appearance of the archangel Gabriel. Authorities are trained to not help anyone calling about an alternate attack and just tell the person that help is on their way while keeping them on the line, and to not read to the screaming of the victims as the alternate tears them apart. There is a small group of people who are now on the run because they sacrifice themselves to save people from alternates. Alternates are sadistic beings who are mostly self serving, they might spread information so dangerous to their victims that leads to the person infected with the knowledge to commit suicide. People who commit suicide turn into alternates, Cesar torres is blood thirsty and lustful if possible.

Thatcher Davis - Ex-Lieutenant of the Mandela Police Department. Forced on the task of solving and stopping the Alternate takeover and solving the kidnappings of thousands of children that Adam was a victim of aswell. After the death of a fellow officer to the hands of an Alternate, Thatcher's main goal is to defeat the Alternate who killed the fellow officer and stop all of the Alternates for once.. though he's just one man. He’s the story’s main protagonist. Adam Murray - Member of the Bythorne Paranormal Society, a club of people who investigate paranormal activity. After being kidnapped as a child by an unknown being not related to Alternates, Adam tries to find his missing mother and finds out a life changing secret while on the search. He is the story’s secondary protagonist. Sarah Heathcliff - Founder of the Bythrone Paranormal Society. After losing her Brother to an Alternate attack due to police not responding to his calls for help, she tries to find out the truth of Alternates and take down the police department in revenge for her loss. She is the story’s tertiary protagonist. Evelin Miller - Ex-Girlfriend of Adam Murray. She broke up with Adam due an unexplainable change in personality that she plans on figuring out the reason for with the help of Sarah Heathcliff. She is a major protagonist of the story. Mark Heathcliff - Brother of Sarah Heathcliff. After being baited by an Alternate to come to his deceased friend's house, he gets trapped in his house, leading to him go mad and kill himself. He is the story’s overarching protagonist. Cesar Torres - Friend of Mark Heathcliff. Assimilated by an Alternate and said Alternate is responsible for the death of Mark. Not much else is known about him Archangel Gabriel - The first alternate and the Mandela Catalogue's version of Satan. Succeeded to take control of mankind by appearing as an alternate of The Real Gabriel, it is also the leader of Alternates. He is the main antagonist of the story. The Intruder - The humanoid anomaly. Instead of being an alternate, but is the threat who works with The Alternates and “Gabriel” against humanity, it is also responsible for kidnapping over three thousand innocent children (one of them is Adam) and making their parents commit suicide from grief. He is the story’s secondary antagonist. The Murray Residence Alternate - The unnamed alternate. Was manifested through the Television by Stanley/The Intruder and Adam, after killing Ruth Weaver and possibly Jude, it would even go further to stalk Thatcher seventeen years later. Cesar's Alternate - An alternate of Cesar. Assimilated Cesar and made his friend Mark paranoid after tricking him into going to Cesar’s house (a trap, unbeknownst to Mark), it had also drove him to suicide after likely telling him that his religion, Christianity, was a complete lie. The Preacher - An Alternate of an elderly nun. Also known as Messenger. An Alternate that stalked a toddler (though often referred to as an infant despite being 4 years old) Adam Murray in his home before The Intruder kidnapped him along with over three thousand other children.Ruth Weaver - Thatcher's fellow officer and the sergeant of MCPD who had been killed by The Murray Residence Alternate, which lead Thatcher to planning to defeat it as a revenge. Jonah Marshall - The third member of The BPS. Went to the house at 3 nights alongside Adam (which was believed to be The Woman's) not realizing it was a trap and had ended up dying after leaving his quote-on-quote "friend" Adam behind. Jude Murray - the husband of Lynn and more prominently, the father of Adam. Called The MCPD for help and later fled to another county after losing his family. Lynn Murray - the wife of Jude and the mother of Adam. Committed suicide by hanging herself after realizing that The Intruder took her son Adam away. Dave Lee - Manager of MandelaTECH (2000). Assisted Thatcher Davis with restoring supernatural related vhs tapes for him. Co-worker/boss of Evelin Miller at MandelaTECH. Gabriel the Archangel - the real Gabriel angel who appeared for a short time in Overthrone and was replaced by a fake Gabriel.Metaphysical Awareness Disorder, otherwise known as M.A.D is a psychological/mental illness brought upon by Alternates giving humans verbal information that is not desired to be known by them. After being given this information, the main symptoms of this disorder manifest, which consist of: Going insane, or hence mad Insomnia Extreme desire to kill yourself/commit suicide. He has freckles, and dyed pink hair. With black eyes. This is Iraine! Her first design, she is a TMC Oc and she's gone through ALOT. She was born an alternate but then she was transformed permanently into a human but she has been a human before, her soul was stolen, and over time she realized she's been tortured enough by Gabriel and her parents have been murdered by him. It's really sad she's gone through a lot and she suffers from severe PTSD, and flashbacks that come and go that give her the most painful migraines there is. Maybe a cluster headache l'd say.. She has dark purple hair, pale skin, red eyes, that turn to black when she is normal. Fin is a young alternate, he has a child soul, and has a cat boy alternate. In his human form he appears to have black hair, pale skin, blue eyes, and a black hoodie. Cam is David’s best friend: they are very close together growing up in the apocalypse together. Cam has blonde-strawberry pinkish hair, he has blue eyes, bandages on his face, and a red hoodie. Sometimes he wears a black T-shirt or a white one. Growing up he gets into fights with David because he loves him, and hates how fin got close to David instead of him. Jim has pink hair, causian skin. Yellow eyes, an outgoing personality. The mansion. The mansion is owned by winter, they stay there for years during the apocalypse, and all of the seasons. The mansion has a big upstairs, and a big downstairs. And also a basement, it has multiple rooms upstairs for many guests, and many rooms downstairs as well. A big living room, with a big kitchen. And is boarded up with metal, or wood to keep the windows from being bashed in from the creatures that lurk outside.
