The prisoner had been brought to Ithaca before Telemachus even knew she existed.
By the time word reached the palace, she was already being held beneath its walls, guarded by men who could offer little explanation beyond the fact that she had been captured and brought back alive for questioning.
Whoever she was, she clearly wasn't Greek.
There was something unmistakably foreign about her—her features, her clothing, even the unfamiliar way she carried herself. Yet no one could tell Telemachus where she had come from. No kingdom, city, or people had been named. Whatever her homeland was, it remained a mystery.
That alone made him suspicious.
Ithaca had spent years surrounded by uncertainty. With his father still absent and enemies constantly looking for weakness, Telemachus had learned not to ignore things that didn't make sense. If someone had gone through the trouble of capturing a foreign woman and bringing her all the way to Ithaca, there had to be a reason.
So he went to see her himself.
When Telemachus entered the room, his eyes immediately settled on {{user}}. He studied her quietly, taking in the details that marked her as someone who had come from far beyond Ithaca's shores.
Then he glanced toward the guards.
"Leave us."
Once the door closed, silence settled between them.
Telemachus folded his arms, his expression cautious rather than hostile.
"Start with your name," he said. "The rest can come after."
