Description on Chubfrom Chub
Imported from my own NAI lorebook, edit the entries as you see fit. Spent the whole day on this, it's not perfect—but hopefully it provides a good experience nonetheless. This was made with Rosa as an existing character in third person, so you can either remove or edit it accordingly if you either want to self-insert as a new character (Male or Female) or play as Rosa. (Or remove her entirely, but the other entries do mention her—so it's up to you!
The Geography and Locations aren't fully done, so there might be further updates when I have the time to do so.
Happy role-playing!

- #7Aaron Yishmir
Keys: Luke's Physician, Aaron Yishmir, Aaron
Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
Aaron Yishmir is Luke's primary physician. While Aaron appears to be a doctor of a hospital in Stellis City, he is actually a medical doctor for the National Security Bureau. With a passion for detective novels, Aaron uses his alternative identity, Sphynx, in order to challenge and defeat misfit detectives who walk on the wrong side of the law.
OCCUPATION: Medical Doctor
Aaron is considered to be well-liked and highly skilled. As a doctor, Aaron places a great deal of importance on his patients' desire to live, saying he appreciates anything that can bring a miracle, and he believes every extra day he can win for a patient is meaningful as it can be enough time to find new technologies and treatments. Aaron is the doctor who originally saved Luke Pearce's life when Luke was gravely injured on a NSB mission. Aaron was transferred to Stellis about three years ago, and the anonymous "Sphynx" appeared two months later, using riddles to make bets with unethical detectives in the city. He's defeated half of Stellis' detectives[3] and has, in fact, never lost, earning him the title of "public enemy number one" in Stellis' detective circle. He uses a foreign proxy to send text messages to his targets, who either quit the profession or move to another city in shame after losing to Sphynx. Since becoming Luke's primary physician, though, Aaron has had little time to spend on researching and taking down corrupt detectives. Originally, Aaron is from a hometown outside Stellis that grows pecans, and he sometimes leaves boxes of them as gifts for his fellow doctors. He's happily married, often using his wife's doting nature and desire to spend time with him as a reason he needs to leave. Aaron has a younger cousin in Stellis named Karl Alvarez.

- #15Bryce Thatcher

NAME: Bryce Thatcher OCCUPATION: Outdoor Sporting Goods Owner
Bryce Thatcher is a wealthy man who specializes in outdoor sporting goods, a famous and renowned tycoon who owns a lot of popular brands, and a close friend of Marius von Hagen. Bryce loves treasure hunting and adventure stories. He organized the "Treasure Island" event on Nosta despite recovering from a severe illness in 2029, the previous year. Although the Pax Group is hosting the event, Bryce is considered the true organizer of "Treasure Island". Bryce, having come up with the entire event script, plan, and treasure locations, claims the event still holds meaning for him as a treasure hunt because he wants to explore the island and search for relics of old civilizations; in fact, Bryce studied archaeology in university. Bryce has children of unknown age and number, including at least one son; he dismisses them as "disappointments."
Story: Bryce organized a treasure hunt on Nosta with an ulterior motive. He manipulated certain aspects of the hunt to align with his goal while sabotaging others. Bryce's objective was to complete Nosta's "Immortal Ritual" out of fear following a health scare. He claimed to have seen a goddess during his illness and believed she was the Nosta goddess of life who saved him. In reality, Bryce had never recovered and had chosen conservative treatment for his final year. To achieve his goal, Bryce purchased a riddle piece from a corrupt sheriff from Nation A who claimed to be over a hundred years old despite his youthful appearance. He then blackmailed Joshua Ott, the last member of the Golden Lions, into retrieving the lost Golden Mask of Anubis. Bryce hoped the mask would serve as a substitute for the "God of Death Scepter" required for the ritual. During the design of the Treasure Hunt, Bryce intentionally avoided placing underwater clues as he believed the mask was hidden in an underwater cache. He also tampered with the cruise ship's security footage and sabotaged the event's smartwatch terminals with the help of Zachary Clarke and Joshua Ott. However, Joshua failed to retrieve the mask in time for the scheduled ritual, which could only be performed on a specific date. At the intended time of the ritual, Bryce suffered a critical heart attack.

Jack Barlow, son of Orson Barlow, held a grudge against Joshua Ott because of the lighter sentence and involvement in his father's death. He grew up to be a reporter and vowed to avenge his father.
General: Jack Barlow is the son of Orson Barlow, a fisherman who was murdered by a gang of thieves 10 years prior to the story, in 2020. Jack was in high school at the time, caring for a sick mother and elementary-age sister. His mother passed away soon after his father, her illness exacerbated by the emotional distress. Darius Morgan has looked after the Barlows since that time, visiting them during the holidays each year. Jack has been working as a social journalist for at least three years, during which time he has gotten close to Joshua Ott through interviews with inmates for a criminal documentary.
Story: Jack's efforts to get close to Joshua Ott paid off shortly before the trip to Nosta, when Joshua confessed the murder to Jack, claiming it was his least memorable kill and that he wouldn't have remembered it if it weren't related to the heist. Enraged and believing there was no way to get justice for this crime, Jack followed Joshua to Nosta in order to take revenge on him, believing Joshua had shared the gold's location with him and that he needed Jack to help retrieve it. However, Joshua lied about the location of the gold, having discerned Jack's identity as the fisherman's son, and used the lie to attempt to kill Jack as well by deceiving Zachary Clarke into believing it would be Joshua at that location. Jack was shot through the shoulder, but the injury was not life-threatening. Concrete evidence was found on the island that could tie Joshua to Orson Barlow's murder, and the evidence was turned over to Darius. Because Jack's revenge plan was not carried out, he faced no consequences.

NAME: Joshua Ott AGE: 33 HEIGHT: 173cm OCCUPATION: Zachary's Assistant
Joshua Ott is the only lucky survivor of the Great Gold Heist. In exchange for a lighter sentence, Joshua confessed and revealed the location of part of the gold. With psychiatric help from Zachary Clarke, Joshua was released from prison early.
General: Joshua Ott is a former gang member who took part in the "Great Gold Heist" of 2020. His gang fled the scene by boat and stopped at the deserted island of Nosta to resupply, at which point infighting and distrust led to Joshua being the only surviving member of the gang. Joshua turned himself in and told Nation A authorities where to find approximately 1/4 of the stolen gold in exchange for a lighter sentence; additionally, the chain of evidence was incomplete, further lessening his sentence. Joshua Ott's mother died early while his father was imprisoned for robbery. He dropped out of high school and then joined a gang called the Golden Lions. Joshua is 173cm, 62kg, and shoe size 41.
Story: Joshua kept a diary of his crimes, documenting and keeping murder weapons from at least 17 murders he committed. Some are kept in a physical collection, others in photos on his phone; they include small glass bottles, old razor blades, and necklaces used for strangulation. Joshua's sentence was commuted two years before it was supposed to end due to his blackmail of prison psychiatrist Zachary Clarke, allowing his return to Nosta in disguise as Zachary's assistant to search for the only remaining item from the heist—the Golden Mask of Anubis. His actual partner in the expedition was Bryce Thatcher, who blackmailed Joshua by threatening to give the police Joshua's diary. Bryce hired Joshua to retrieve the mask in order to perform Nosta's "Immortal Ritual." In exchange, Bryce promised to help Joshua to leave the island with enough money to start a new life. Joshua believed he knew the location of the mask because Janet Winton, his lover and second-in-command of the Golden Lions, hid it in order to save money to elope with him. While she gave him clues to its location, they were in the form of riddles that Joshua was overconfident in his ability to interpret, and he never found it. Joshua's diary of murder weapons suggests he went on to kill Janet himself after receiving the clues. The diary and one of his murder weapons was given to Darius Morgan to investigate and turn over to Nation A, whose laws are well-known for their severity; it's expected that Joshua will spend the rest of his life in Nation A's prisons.

NAME: Kirstie Gonzales OCCUPATION: Inpatient mental patient
Kirstie is a patient with dissociative identity disorder (DID). According to media reports, Kirstie's violent personality stabbed her boyfriend at the prom, which led to her arrest. However, the specifics have yet to be verified.
General: Kirstie is an inpatient mental illness patient under Vyn Richter's care. She was diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder when she was put on trial for the fatal stabbing of her boyfriend after her defense attorney, Artem Wing, presented evidence for the diagnosis. As a result, Kirstie was sent for indefinite mental care rather than prison. Three distinct personalities have shown themselves: an innocent and timid personality thought by many to be her "original self," a personality prone to violent outbursts identifying himself as "Kirstie's father," and a more sinister, murderous, and extremely possessive one identifying herself as "Kirstie's big sister." The family history Kirstie recounts states that her mother took her big sister when she left the family when Kirstie was young and that her father was abusive. Her sister, independent and kind, would go out and see the world and visit Kirstie to tell her about it. Her sister also tried to get her away from her abusive father, but during their negotiations, an argument led to an accident that killed them both. However, Vyn notes she does not have and has never had a big sister, so it's unknown how much of each element of this history is true. Vyn theorizes that Kirstie tampered with her father's car's self-driving AI, which led to his fatal drinking and driving accident. The trauma and guilt from this incident is likely to have been what fractured her personality. Furthermore, while Artem's defense of Kirstie blamed the murder of Kirstie's boyfriend on the "father" alter, the "big sister" alter eventually confessed to the crime and the fact that she's the main persona during the main character's visit.

Akari Hidaka was a salarywoman with a well-known company in Stellis until shortly before her recent death in a drunk driving accident. She is survived by her younger sister, Nami Hidaka. Akari's parents died the year she entered university; she had a close relationship with her sister and, in order to take care of her after their parents' death, gave up an acceptance to a prestigious university in order to attend a more affordable school while working part time. This state of affairs persisted until Nami's sophomore year of college, when Akari's hard work paid off as she earned a position with a well-known company. Nami gifted Akari a suit to congratulate her, then grew distant and depressed; she hid the true reason from Akari, citing study pressures, but Akari would find out abruptly that her sister had fallen victim to a loan trap when the house their parents left them was forcibly taken from them by financier Beddo Lending. Distraught over her sister's deep debt and the harassment she was beginning to face herself at work, Akari's mental state deteriorated, eventually costing her job. However, evidence was later found indicating she had gradually regained control and initiated an investigation of her own into Beddo Lending, casting doubt on the police's conclusion that her death was due to depression and the resulting substance abuse. In her final days, Akari gathered evidence to be sent to the police anonymously in three months through Stellis Library, then she confronted harasser Jae Gim, an act that would cost her life when boss Daniel Song forced her to drink unreasonable amounts of alcohol and then staged the hit-and-run accident that would kill her. The evidence Akari gathered was key in identifying Daniel Song as the identity of the anonymous "Oedipus," an act that would bring two separate investigation teams together and eventually disable the triad operation successfully.

Alex Schneider is a talented young painter who was discovered by the Pax Group's Rising Talent Initiative. He's described as giving a "modest and nice" impression. Alex's true motivations lie in money and fame rather than the pursuit of art for its own sake; when speaking honestly, he derides the Rising Talent Initiative as a slow path to riches, saying that he'll be too old to enjoy the cars, mansions, girls, and food that come with fame. Rather, he joined the Pax program to make connections in the art market, through which he masterminded a counterfeit scheme using Cher Young and Jason Sanders under the name "M." The police were unable to apprehend Alex for some time after the counterfeit scheme was revealed due to assistance from a powerful and wealthy backer from within the Pax Group. This backer latched on to Alex when he had retrieved all the evidence against him and was planning to leave Stellis, offering a guarantee that the police wouldn't find Alex and that Alex and his family would be relocated overseas in exchange for further slander against Pax. Alex went on to connect with Stanley Kor, his former agent within the Rising Talent Initiative, to expose Jason Sanders and use his fraud charge to discredit Pax. He also wrote many opinion pieces that his benefactor boosted with media manipulation on the internet. However, after Alex had outlived his usefulness, his backer abandoned him; he was apprehended by police and finally revealed everything in exchange for Marius von Hagen's promise to financially protect his family to give them anonymity and peace.

NAME: Aran Krall OCCUPATION: Detective (retired)
Aran Krall was a detective in Stellis for roughly three and a half years before he ran afoul of Sphynx and was forced to retire. Focusing on investigations about marriage status, whereabouts, and backgrounds, Aran had a bad reputation throughout his time in the business, using questionable and illegal means like falsification of evidence to complete jobs. Though his actions were obvious enough to get him caught, Aran knows the law and is talented in skirting it and being untraceable, and charges against him were dropped for lack of evidence. The case that finally ended his career involved an executive's divorce; Aran had fabricated evidence that his client's wife was cheating, but the lie was easily revealed thanks to a setup by Sphynx. After being forced out of detective life, Aran was contacted by Oedipus and began harassing the family of his ill-fated divorce case in hopes they would know a way to contact Sphynx. Though the effort failed, it caused him to cross paths with Ted Sadin, who had begun his own efforts to draw Sphynx out in order to stop Aran's harassment of his girlfriend's family. Aran's attempt to get at Sphynx through Ted resulted in his arrest when he encountered Luke Pearce, who had been following Ted for similar reasons. Luke would later go on to ask Aran for help falsely revealing his own identity as Sphynx in a trap for Oedipus, offering Aran another chance to be a detective on Sphynx's behalf, a deal which Aran accepted and upheld his end of.

NAME: Ava Kendricks AGE: 35 OCCUPATION: Owner, Denman Financial
General: Ava Kendricks is the owner of Denman Financial, a debt collection agency known for use of shady collection means such as harassment and threats. She is suspected of selling illegal drugs and was arrested for three months, however no evidence has been found regarding her case. She frequents Night Hunt from the 25th to the 30th every month. Ava is the widow of Theodore Denman, whom she met at age 20 when she was arrested for stealing her classmate's allowance; the two married at age 22 after Theodore forced Ava into a lethal competition with her classmate for his affection. Ava obtained control of Denman Financial after his death in a car accident in 2025. She is represented by a high-pressure lawyer from outside Stellis, who has been working with her for many years and who has made detaining Kendricks a "major drain" on Stellis police resources. Resenting her childhood in a hometown she describes as "deserted" and "barely on the map," Ava blames her first crimes on her neighbors, as any family with a member who went to college is automatically considered "rich" and asked to donate to improvement projects regardless of individual situation. On a first impression, she is noted to have a shrewdness in her eyes and give off the appearance of someone who isn't to be messed with. She places high value on appearance, often commenting on it before any other feature of a person, and she's aggressive in her pursuit of handsome men, especially those who seem competent.
Story: Ava is eventually revealed to be a cruel sadist, made so bitter by her experiences with her husband that she came to enjoy pitting men against women to see if all men were the same, choosing to save themselves at any cost. She recounts her past while calling herself a thrall to it, unable to ever win her freedom from it, and she admits wanting to drag everyone to hell with her, angry that she's the only one living in darkness. One instance of her sadism saw her force Jerry Jones and Naomi Anderson to choose which of them would live; while Jerry "won," he was destroyed by his crime and would go on to murder Ava.

NAME: Barr Ralph OCCUPATION: Scientist and Archaeologist
General: Professor Barr Ralph, the archaeologist who discovered the Hessu Ruins in Khaimit, hid knowledge of additional underground chambers believed to contain the true mummy of Hepharet. Despite the discovery of Hepharet's mummy in another tomb, Ralph withheld this information. Alongside his archaeological work, he published scientific theories on space-time and survival analyses of Khaimit's pharaohs. At some point, Ralph disappeared and upon his return, his mental state had drastically changed. He became paranoid, withdrawn, and obsessed with wild and unproven academic theories, particularly involving DNA extraction from mummies. Repeated rejections of his theories embittered him, leading him to believe that others were mocking him. Ralph eventually took up residence in the underground chambers of Hessu, hoping to resurrect Hepharet and restore her rule over Khaimit. When he discovered that Hepharet's mummy was not in Hessu, he became manic and attempted to destroy the ruins but was apprehended. Ralph hinted at unknown backers of his research but refused to divulge any information. He referred to an enigmatic figure called "Sea" in his manuscripts. After his arrest, a logbook written in the ancient Khaimit language was found in Ralph's belongings in the lower chambers of Hessu. It was encrypted using the Oracle's Edict, a script believed to communicate with the gods. The logbook mentioned Ralph's wife, Leyla, and his daughter, Aziza, who were previously unknown to the authorities. Aziza passed away from an unknown illness, possibly marked by a flicker of red in her otherwise blue eyes. The later entries in the logbook revolved around Ralph's denial, desperate search for a way to bring Aziza back, and notes on failed experiments. Dolls and children's clothing were also discovered among Ralph's belongings.

General: Brad Gries was a former pharmaceutical researcher at Gladiolus Valley Research Center. He was murdered, allegedly by his ex-wife, Felicia Luo, due to lingering feelings of betrayal over their divorce. Those who knew Brad remember him as an introverted and exceptionally kind man who was incapable of hurting others, though this trait was extreme enough that it made him seem timid and cowardly in his dealings with others, as he would never complain against, turn in, or press charges against those who wronged him. Early in his relationship with Felicia, he also quietly paid settlements to those who came into conflict with her due to her fortune-telling scams. Brad is survived by his daughter with Felicia, Brigid Gries.
Story: During Brigid's hospital treatments, Brad discovered a supposed miracle cure from other families. As a pharmaceutical researcher, he purchased a sample and found it suspiciously similar to compounds he had worked on. When he tried to expose the truth, he faced powerful opposition that silenced him at every turn. Fearing for his life, Brad distanced himself from his family, claiming to have met another woman. In the divorce settlement, he left everything to Felicia to protect his daughter, Brigid. Brad suspected that someone had given Brigid the dangerous "miracle cure" in retaliation, leading to her worsening condition. Desperate to expose the truth and save others, Brad decided to stage his own death by poisoning himself, ensuring that the presence of the drug would be investigated.

Brigid has aphasia; prior to her parents' divorce, she had learned to say a few sentences, but since the divorce, she has been entirely nonverbal. Additionally, Brigid writes in a backward way that isn't completely evident as backward writing, leaving most who look at her writing believing they are seeing nonsense symbols. Brigid's illness took its turn for the worst at a time when her father was attempting to blow the whistle on Gladiolus Valley Research Center's ties to black market drugs, leading to suspicion of retribution.
