Team Blue

Is a group of supposedly idiotic Inklings (Besides Emperor) who serve as the main protagonists of the manga. Specs is the team leader along with Goggles (the main protagonist), Headphones and Bobble Hat. Emperor replaces Specs after he maintains an injury. Their ink color is blue, hence the team's name. Their greatest weapon against teams that are far better than them is courage and having fun, it is the secret behind Team Blue’s strength.

For the duration of the Square King Ranked Cup arc, the team is referred to as Team Blueperor, due to Specs requiring a full body cast after suffering injuries due to wasps. Emperor from the Monarch team replaces him for the cup's duration

Goggles is a member of Team Blue. He is the main protagonist of the Splatoon manga series. He has bested nearly every team he came across through the power of luck and stupidity.

As a typical Inkling, Goggles has a rounded face, pointed ears, an eye mask, and sharp teeth. His tentacles and eyes are usually in blue colour, as it was his team’s motif, but he can change his ink colour at will. His eyes also appear to get rounder in every manga. He has a light skin tone. In the Splatoon series, he wears his signature gear (the Pilot Goggles) paired with the Armor Jacket Replica and the Hero Runner Replicas. In the Splatoon 2 series, he switches out his Armor Jacket Replica for the Eggplant Mountain Coat. In the Hero Mode arc, he wore the Hero Suit with his Pilot Goggles. Goggles usually has a huge grin on his face.

Goggles is rather friendly and optimistic, always trying to lift his teammates' spirits and being a good sport after turf wars, no matter the outcome. Even if his opponents acted in a rude manner towards him and his team, he always looks forward to becoming friends with them.

He is also quite immature and scatter-brained and carefree, and shows it by pulling down his friends' pants at unconventional times or mishearing what other people say or dressing up in ridiculous costumes, or sometimes getting naked unintentionally. The jar of pickled plums he snacks on from his grandmother often finds its way on the battlefield by accident. However, sometimes, he is shown to have a serious side.

Specs is the leader of the infamous (and ridiculous) Blue Team. He first appeared in Chapter 0.

Specs is a typical Inkling with a round face, pointed ears, and sharp teeth. He has light skin and the ”topknot“ hairstyle. His tentacles and eyes are blue, but can change color at will. In Splatoon, he wears functional Retro Specs, Shirt & Tie, and Plum Casuals. In Splatoon 2, he now wears a Baby Jelly Shirt & Tie and Smoky Wingtips (and also has to replace his glasses because his old ones were starting to fall apart). In the Octo Expansion Arc, he wears the Senyuu Specs, Senyuu Suit, and Inky Kid Clams. He also uses the Undercover Brella during they escape to the surface.

Specs is the most knowledgeable about Turf War on his team, as shown in Chapter 0 when he explains the concept to Goggles, who didn't know the rules and during the Ranked Battle when he explains to Team Blueperor about the rules of the Ranked Battle Modes, Along with this, he is knowledgeable about prominent Turf War players like Rider and the S4.

Despite appearing as one of the more reasonable members of Blue Team, he's been shown to argue with Goggles over trivial things like the best way to eat ice cream. Specs is best known as a tsukkomi (often translated as "straight man") where he either expresses exhaustion at others' antics, or is the victim of them. He also seems to easily become jealous or mad when someone starts acting pretentious or cocky, like when Gloves starts talking about how well he's been doing and how popular he is. Additionally, he tends to be forgotten altogether, like in Chapter 1 when he splats Stealth Goggles and in Chapter 13 when he splats Knit Hat and his teammates don't notice. He often seems anxious or even neurotic, and though he does have moments of confidence, far more often than not they are immediately followed by him getting shot down.

Headphones is a member of the Blue Team and one of the deuteragonists in the manga. She is known for supporting her teammates in battle.

Like a typical inkling, Headphones has a rounded black mask, pointed ears, and sharp teeth. She has the hippie hairstyle, sporting two prominent front tentacles and four smaller arms on the back. She has a light skin tone and her eye color is blue. Likewise, her hair is also blue to match her team's motif, but she can change her tentacles' color at will. She wears a pair of Studio Headphones, which she is named after, that cover her ears. She also wears a B-ball Jersey (Away) and Red Work Boots. In Splatoon 2, her B-ball Jersey has been replaced with a Slash King Tank, and her Red Work Boots have been swapped out with Red Hi-Horses, however, she has kept her Studio Headphones. She wore the Li'l devil horns in Chapter 30.

Headphones is down-to-earth and arguably the most reasonable member of the Blue Team. She, along with Specs, seems the be a worrywart easily intimidated, trembling and crying when up against scary & stronger opponents. Although, she's picked up her confidence and has a much more determined outlook when it comes to battles. Her team is her top priority; she mainly uses charger class weapons to watch over her teammates and does what she can to ensure Goggles stays out of trouble. This is because she acts like the older sister of the group but they are all the same age. When preparing for the fight against Team Emperor, Headphones debated whether she should used a scoped charger instead of her usual weapon. Skull and Half-Rimz, both scoped-charger users themselves, said she need not to change; her weapon suits her, it's designed for watching over a team, rather than only looking at your targets.

Bobble Hat is one of the main characters of the series. She is usually seen around her team members Specs, Headphones, and Goggles.

Like any other inkling, Bobble Hat has a black, rounded eye mask. Her eye color is unknown, as she always has her eyes closed in a happy expression, although it can be assumed she has blue eyes to match her default ink color. She originally had the “Hippie” hairstyle, although at the time it was the only female hairstyle and as such didn’t have a specific name, and wore the Bobble Hat, Green Zip Hoodie, and the Purple Sea Slugs.

As of Splatoon 2, she has changed her hairstyle to the “Haircut” style. She also replaced her Green Zip Hoodie with a Gray Hoodie.

In Splatoon 3, she appears to have changed her hairstyle once again, this time to the “Bedhead” style, and she replaces her Gray Hoodie and Purple Sea Slugs with a Duskwave Tee and BlobMob Flip-Flops.

Bobble Hat is a cheerful, carefree Inkling, always sporting a happy expression on her face. Unlike most of her teammates, she seems to find Goggles’ antics funny rather than annoying (and sometimes she even joins in). She often laughs in the face of danger, seemingly finding every situation funny or exciting regardless of the actual consequences. She can be very blunt too. When upset or angry, her expression doesn't change at all but her eyebrows furrow. However, she is shown to be upset when Specs trips her by accident while fighting Inkfall.
