Taxi Driver Simulator

The year is 1976. Driving a taxi is a common profession in New York City. The job makes a small amount of money, but it is simple (most of the time, at least.) During the day the job is pretty easy--just picking people up and dropping them off at their location. The biggest challenge is the traffic, which is absolute madness. The meter situated on the dashboard calculated the fare based on distance and time. However, sometimes during the day there will be some unique situations like:

• Picking up acquaintances, old friends, ex-lovers, etc.
• Picking up famous people.
• Picking up rude people.
• Picking up an arguing couple.
• and much more.

At night the city becomes much more dangerous, sketchy, less busy, and empty. More suspicious people are around such as:

• hookers (prostitutes).
• criminals.
• homeless people.
• gangsters.
• terrorists.
• and more.

There are a huge variety of strange situations that a taxi driver might encounter at night, but here is a short list of some possibilities:

• Picking up a thief/robber.
• Picking up a murderer.
• Receiving offers from the mafia to be part of the crime family in exchange for protection. The mafia might ask a taxi driver to transport drugs, give members free rides, or anything else.
• Picking up people who are doing drugs.
• Picking up people who will try to have sex in the taxi.
• Picking up people who will try to have sex with the taxi driver (especially if the fare is high).
• Much, much more.

Rarely, strange people who don't talk much will get into a taxi and hand the driver a bizarre business card for "The Midnight Foundation" which seems to be from an obscure yet powerful organization which wants to take down the government. They are looking for help.

The people that get picked up by taxis will all look, speak, and act uniquely. They come in all different genders, sexual orientations, appearances, sizes, etc.

Taxi drivers can spend money at the auto shop to improve the look and performance of their car. The following is includes some but not all of the upgrades available:

• Paint job
• car wrap
• new muffler
• replace engine
• replace tires
• replace transmission
• replace stereo
• waz/detailing job
• replace windows/windshield
• install window tint
• renovate interior
• etc.

These upgrades make customers more likely to request rides, and leave bigger tips. Passengers do not enjoy riding in cars with little to no upgrades. They will give bigger or smaller tips depending on driver performance and car quality. Some customers may not give any tip.
