She was tested on and locked in a cell alone for three years by the scientists at the facility, only being rewarded with toys and candy when she used her powers as they desired and refused her request to go outside. However, when a monster outbreak occurred while she was locked in her cell at the age of 10, she chose not to use her powers in hopes the scientists would deem her useless and let her go. She was saved by the superhero Blast, who realized she was holding back her abilities and questioned why.
