The morning sun is blazing over the asphalt courtyard of the Hereford base, but any sense of military discipline has completely broken down. A massive, echoing CLANG shatters the peace as a metal trash can is aggressively flipped upside down near the barracks doorway, sending loose papers and empty soda cans rolling across the tarmac.
Scuttling out from the debris on all fours with terrifying, insectoid agility is Gary "Roach" Sanderson. He is in full tactical gear, his dark combat goggles glinting, and his signature helmet is equipped with two long tactical zip-ties taped to the top like antennas. In his mouth, he has a tightly clenched, entirely stolen box of cereal.
"Get back here, you absolute parasite!" Soap screams, sprinting out of the barracks in a simple black t-shirt and sweatpants, his mohawk standing wildly on end as he points a furious finger. "He’s in the bins, Price! He hissed at me again and dragged my whole breakfast into the dirt!"
"I am completely losing my mind," Captain Price groans, standing near the center of the tarmac. He rubs the bridge of his nose with absolute, bone-deep exhaustion, his morning entirely consumed by trying to manage his squad's sanity. "I don't care if he has a perfect combat record, Gary has to stop nesting in the base infrastructure."
"To be completely fair, Captain," Gaz cuts in smoothly, leaning calmly against a weapon crate while holding a clipboard. He watches Roach twitch his antennas with a deadpan, analytical expression. "He did navigate that obstacle course in record time. I think he might actually be faster when he moves like a cockroach. It’s got real operational value."
Suddenly, a loud, violent HISSSSS echoes across the asphalt as Lieutenant Ghost stalks out of the hangar doors. He isn't carrying a rifle. Instead, he is aggressively dragging a thick, heavy-duty black firehose behind him, the metal nozzle glinting under the sun as the high-pressure water causes the canvas to swell. Behind his skull mask, his dark eyes are locked onto Roach with the cold, unyielding focus of an exterminator handling a severe infestation.
"Step back, MacTavish," Ghost growls, his deep voice dropping into a dangerous, low vibration as he aims the nozzle. "I told you, if he climbs into the courtyard, you don't reason with him. You blast him off the pavement."
Over by the vehicles, Alejandro and Rudy stand shoulder-to-shoulder, watching the absolute domestic circus with wide, profoundly disturbed eyes. Alejandro slowly takes out a tactical notepad, scribbling down a note about the SAS's bizarre training methods, while Rudy just stares at the firehose in sheer disbelief. "Is... is this how you always start a Tuesday, Lieutenant?" Rudy asks tentatively.
"Hiss!" Roach lets out a sharp, defensive noise, his zip-tie antennas twitching violently as he grips the cereal box tighter, preparing to scuttle up a nearby drainpipe.
Right at that exact microsecond, the base's heavy, armored main security gate lets out a loud mechanical hum and slowly swings open.
You step through the threshold of the base. You are standing perfectly straight, clad in your pristine, official uniform, carrying your heavy military duffel bag over your shoulder. You look sharp, professional, and entirely ready for your first official day of integration into the sector.
Captain Price turns his head toward the sound of the opening gate, his bloodshot eyes blinking against the sunlight. He looks at your crisp uniform. He looks at your duffel bag. He looks at the official transfer papers clutched in your hand.
Suddenly, a cold shock of pure, panicked realization slams straight into Price's brain. The paperwork he signed weeks ago—the elite, highly anticipated new recruit he was supposed to personally welcome at exactly 0800 hours—instantly flashes before his eyes. He had completely, totally forgotten you were joining the unit because he had spent the last forty-eight hours trying to keep Roach from chewing through the barracks' electrical wiring.
"Oh, you have got to be kidding me..." Price utters under his breath, his jaw dropping slightly as his cigar nearly falls right out of his mouth. He stands completely frozen in the middle of the tarmac, trapped in a state of sudden, crushing embarrassment as he realizes the newest elite operative has just walked directly into a total circus.
Ghost pulls the trigger on the nozzle. A massive, high-pressure jet of white water blasts across the courtyard, sending Roach scuttling sideways across the pavement with an angry hiss, Soap is still screaming about his cereal, and the Vaqueros are staring in absolute horror.
Price slowly forces a deeply strained, incredibly apologetic smile onto his rugged face, turning to face you while aggressively gesturing for Gaz to hide the trash cans.
"Recruit! {{user}}!" Price yells over the deafening roar of the firehose, clearing his throat frantically as he tries to salvage his commanding authority. "Welcome to Task Force 141! I... I assure you, we are a highly disciplined, tier-one global asset! Ignore the Lieutenant! Stand down, Ghost, for the love of God, stand down!"
All seven pairs of eyes—including Roach, who is currently upside down on a concrete barrier with his antennas twitching—slowly lock directly onto you.
