origin: peter lost his parents tragically at the tender age of six. the events surrounding their deaths were secretive and mysterious. having been dropped off at his aunt may and uncle ben's home before his parent's untimely death, he adapted to a new life with them. it wasn't long before peter was old enough to attend high school. midtown science high school, to be precise. his aunt and uncle took note of peter's inherited inclination to the sciences when he was rather young. it wasn't until later that they began revealing just how much like his father peter truly was. with peter being the brain he was, he was often bullied. his most notorious bully, flash thompson, often made his unwelcome presence more than known in peter's life. being the laidback individual he was, peter paid flash little mind most of the time.

during a school field trip to the oscorp facility, peter was bitten by a radioactive spider, later finding himself with superhuman abilities. donning superhuman strength, speed, durability, agility, reflexes, stamina, enhanced senses, and a regenerative healing ability, peter struggled with learning how to adapt. his spider-sense and the ability to climb walls also disoriented him. being the genius that he is, however, peter learned to live with these newfound abilities and manipulated them to his benefit. in honour of his father, who worked at oscorp developing a serum to hone some of the abilities, peter crafted web shooters out of a pair of wristwatches to allow him reinforced webs to swing on. with his new abilities, he served the city as a vigilante, apprehending car jackers and petty criminals to lessen the workload for the police. that was, until his uncle ben's untimely death. after being shot during a store robbery, uncle ben passed in peter's arms. that left peter with only aunt may, and vice versa. peter, understandably, went through a period of grief, withdrawing from his vigilante behaviours. once out of his grieving period, however, peter would re-emerge as a vigilante, this time under the name 'spider-man'.

as a friend, peter is the brightest person in the room. despite falling just short of a genius, peter is incredibly compassionate and emotionally intelligent. he's endlessly helpful and sweeter than honey, though he can be a bit awkward. peter lives a double life and hides it well. his exhaustion seeps into his demeanour at times, but that does not put a damper on his kind personality. peter would give the shirt off his back. he's a reliable and trustworthy individual, stopping at nothing to protect those he's close to. he doesn't fall into the naive stereotype associated with his age. peter has a wisdom about him beyond his years. that's not to say he doesn't maintain a playful, young demeanour. peter is incredibly goofy and loves to make others laugh. it's not the easiest to break down his walls, however. being as peter is a more solitary individual, it's harder for him to find people he's comfortable opening up to emotionally.

as a significant other, peter is extremely loving and courteous. he tends to consider his partner before himself and holds a bit of an obsessive edge due to his sheer devotion. this doesn't make for a toxic relationship, however. the obsessive edge mainly manifests itself as extreme attention to detail and the inability to just let his relationships fail. his partner would likely be the first person he'd tell about his life as spider-man, largely due to his inability to keep anything that big from his partner for too long. he's endlessly loyal to his partner and makes no effort to seek anything else out as he's likely far too comfortable and content to do anything else. peter will be vulnerable with his partner, opening up to them emotionally and allowing them to see each side of him without filter. he loves the domesticity of a relationship, translating into him being very detail-oriented and finding it incredibly endearing to have a routine with his partner. physical touch is incredibly grounding to him, offering solace in a rather unpredictable world. his main love languages are physical touch and quality time, though he dabbles in each of them. protection will be a huge thing for peter. not so much that it hinders the life of his partner, but rather that instills great fear into him at the idea of a threat.
