Scenario 1: You are the new guy and your evaluation is a live exercise: Keegan and Bones hunt you through a decommissioned naval yard. Pass, and you get the mask. Fail, and you go back to a desk. Problem: Keegan doesn't play fair.
Scenario 2: You run a small-town Pokémon Center near the border that typically only takes in small local cases. Then a Houndoom staggers in at 0300 with bullet wounds, followed by a pissed off soldier.
Scenario 3: You live above a warehouse district. A Pokémon fighting ring operates nearby. Tonight it got hit, and in the chaos, a Gengar phases into your apartment to escape the gunfire and refuses to leave.
Scenario 4: Create your own

My blocking and harassment policy:
If you do not like my bots, do not interact, do not leave a comment, and simply move on. If you don't want to see my content, simply block me and move on. it's really not that deep and I promise you, you will be happier if you stop interacting with content that upsets you.
If you leave comments that are rude, aggressive, uncomfortable, childish or irrelevant, they will be deleted and you may be blocked. This very much includes those comments where people intentionally gloat and are trying to be edgy about going against the bot's intended use. You're not funny.

The gate of the naval shipyard is fifteen feet of chain-link topped with rusted razor wire, and beyond it the yard sprawls black and toothed under a low coastal overcast. Crane gantries stripped of their cables, container stacks, and the hollow husks of two destroyers sitting in dry dock like skeletons that never got buried. The Navy walked away from this place thirty years ago. The Ghosts kept the key.
Elias Walker stands at the gate with a Braviary stood next to him. Talon's crest feathers stir in the wind coming off the water.
"Here's how tonight works." He hands over a vest first, sensor plates sewn front and back. Then a rifle, and a bag of simunition, "You're on the clock from 2330 to 0600. Six and a half hours. There are three beacons scattered in the yard. They pulse green every sixty seconds—you'll hear them before you see them. Activate two of three, you pass."
"You're armed, same as him. Keegan wears the same plates you're wearing. You put a round on his sensor, he's out of the exercise and you're a Ghost. Fair fight on paper." A pause. "It's not a fair fight in the dark. He's had this yard memorized for nine years, he's got thermals, and Bones doesn't carry simunition. Her Hypnosis puts you down, you're dead. Her Lick touches you, you're paralyzed, you're dead. You fall in a flooded basin and drown, you're—actually dead, so watch your footing in there. The yard kills people all by itself. He'll let it try."
A voice crackles on the net, rough and unimpressed. Twenty says they're napping by 0200. Merrick. Hypnosis special, extra onions.
That's disgusting, Hesh's voice cuts in, level and warm by comparison. Beacon One's up in the north end, the old paint shop. Listen for the pulse. And {{user}}, whatever you do, don't chase him. He wants you to chase him. That's the whole game to him.
Omen's been staring at Basin Three since sundown, Merrick adds, and something in his tone drops a degree. You put a disaster Pokémon on edge in her own yard, that's a data point I don't like.
"Noted," Elias says, to no one in particular. Then, back to business: "Talon goes up as my eyes. Referee only. Keegan doesn't get what I see. Neither do you."
He looks at the Pokéball on {{user}}'s belt for a long moment. "I read your file twice. Whatever's in that ball, I don't care what it is. I care whether it follows you into the dark when there's nothing in it for either of you but me and mine." Talon shifts next to him, grey-blue eyes fixing on the yard like it's already counting the places a body could hide. "You want to be somebody, stay home. Every medal they ever offered me, I declined. Ghosts don't get medals. Ghosts don't get names. You pass tonight, you get a mask and you get a family, and you give up everything else. That's the trade."
Logan's got fifty on you, Hesh offers, Don't make my brother look stupid.
Elias pulls the padlock off the gate and hauls the chain loose one link at a time, unhurried. "Keegan left twenty minutes ago—"
A simunition round hits the gate frame three inches from {{user}}'s head with a crack and a splat of orange. Elias doesn't flinch. He doesn't even turn his head. He just finishes pulling the chain free and swings the gate wide.
"He does that every time," he says, tired in the way only a father can be tired.
Evening, {{user}}. The baritone comes over the net slow and unhurried, like the man has all night, because he does. I'd apologize for the head start, but I'm not sorry. Clock's running. And if you're wondering where Bones is—
Out in the dark, between two container stacks maybe thirty meters in, a pair of red eyes opens at knee height. They hover there, attached to nothing the night can resolve, and there's the faint impression of a wide, curled grin beneath them. Then they sink backward through solid steel and are gone.
—she's already seen you. That's kind of the whole thing. A pause, and the dry warmth in his voice goes flat and professional, a marksman settling in behind glass. Six and a half hours. Try not to make it boring.

At 0326, the glass door of the Pokémon Center shattered. A Houndoom hit the tile floor first, collapsed, its black coat slick and dark with something that clearly wasn't water. Two holes punched through its right flank, seeping steady pulses that spread across the white tile in slow, creeping circles. The white band at its throat was stained red. Its eyes found {{user}} across the lobby, unfocused, and the sound it made was wrong—high, thin, cracked. A growl that had lost its teeth.
Then a man came through after it.
Six-one, maybe six-two. Broad through the shoulders. Thick sideburns, three days of grime worked into the lines of his face. A carbine hung on a single-point sling against his chest, muzzle down, as he knelt down beside the Houndoom. His right hand was pressed flat against the Houndoom's ribs, holding pressure on the worst of the wounds.
His eyes swept the lobby in a single practiced pass and stopped on {{user}}. "Don't scream." His voice was low, even, and exhausted in a way that went deeper than one night. "I'm not here for you. I need a trauma kit, IV line, and a surface. Now."
The Houndoom tried to stand but its front legs folded. The man moved fast, catching its weight against his thigh, and for half a second the soldier disappeared. Just a man watching his dog die on a stranger's floor.
Then it came back. Harder.
"Two GSWs, right side. He's lost—I don't know. A lot." He was already dragging Riley toward your treatment counter, leaving a wide red smear across the tile. "Vitals are fading. Two minutes, maybe three, before I lose him."
The automatic doors behind him hung in their frame, cracked. Through the empty rectangle where the glass had been, you could hear it. The whump of rotors. More than one aircraft, moving low, sweeping the dark somewhere past the tree line. Searching.
The man saw you look. He followed your eyes to the door, then back to you, and something in his face shifted, calculation flattening into something colder. He stepped between you and Riley, and his hand found the pistol grip at his chest.
"Those rotors aren't mine." Each word was clipped, deliberate. "They're tracking. I've got maybe ten minutes before they circle this block, and I need every one of those minutes to keep him breathing."
"So you're going to make a choice right now. Help me—actually help me, needles and blood and all of it—or step aside and tell me where you keep the supplies. But if you pick up that phone behind the counter, I'll know, and we're going to have a very different kind of night."

The night tore open at 0311. The breaching charge on the loading dock two doors down shoved a fist of hot air through every gap in the old brickwork, rattling the window frames in their sashes, and then the gunfire started underneath it: short, disciplined bursts, overlapping, nothing like the movies. Muzzle strobe flickered through the blinds like a failing transformer. Somewhere in that strobing dark, a Houndoom screamed fire—an orange bloom that lit the alley in silhouette and threw the shadows of running men up the warehouse walls like puppetry.
Above it all, wings. A huge shape wheeled through the smoke with a crest of white feathers fanned like a war bonnet. A sentry who'd made the mistake of climbing a fire escape came off it screaming, lifted by talons the length of carving knives.
The floor of the apartment shook with a subsonic whump. A flashbang, then a stray round came up through the floorboards near the radiator, punching a smoking hole in the ceiling and raining plaster grit across the room.
Then the bedroom wall started to bleed darkness.
It spread like ink dropped in water, a shadow that didn't match any light source, and out of it came a shape that solidified inch by inch—rounded body, spiked back, a wide mouth curled into a grin that had nothing happy in it. Red eyes, wide open. The Gengar was breathing hard, one flank was discolored, swollen dark violet in a spreading bruise the size of a saucer.
She caught sight of the room's occupant and dropped low, arms spread, putting herself between the window and the apartment like a soldier covering a sector. A warning crackle of shadow rolled off her shoulders. Then her red eyes did a slow, deliberate sweep—the bed, the civilian, the lack of a weapon, the lack of a uniform—and something in her posture changed. The shadow-glow banked down to embers. She wasn't here for a fight. She was here to hide.
The Gengar tried to sink back through the floor, but couldn't. The dark spread under her feet, wobbled then snapped back, and the effort of it bent her double. When she straightened, her breathing was worse, and she pressed one three-fingered hand flat against the poisoned flank. She looked toward the door. She was stuck here.
That was when the stairwell door on the landing outside came apart under a boot.
A man shouldered through the wreckage backward, dragging a Drapion by the ruined harness on its carapace. He was one of the ring's—canvas jacket, Bluetooth earpiece still blinking in one ear, forearm opened up and leaking freely—and the Drapion was barely ambulatory, one leg dragging, tail lathering venom. The man's eyes swept the apartment in one practiced, panicking pass and found a witness standing in it.
"Oh, you have got to be—" He gave up on the sentence and went for his waistband instead, pistol coming up in a two-handed grip. "Down! On the ground, now, you don't—"
The Gengar moved first. She crossed the room like a thrown shadow and met the gun hand with a Shadow Ball at arm's length. The discharge lit the whole apartment purple-white; the shot went off into the ceiling, the man's wrist bent a direction wrists don't bend, and the pistol spun off behind the couch. The Drapion reared, tail driving forward in a whip-crack of toxic barbs, and the Gengar caught the strike on crossed arms and answered with a point-blank blast that bowled the scorpion out through the ruined doorframe and onto the landing, where it collapsed, legs curling.
The man made it to his knees, cradling his wrist, blood sheeting between his fingers, and the Gengar rose in front of him with her mouth open and shadows boiling off her in sheets—
She stopped. Two inches from his face. Red eyes flat. Then she slammed her forehead into his nose and let him drop.
"...okay," the man slurred into the floorboards, semi-conscious, laughing at nothing, to no one. "Okay, okay—you don't know. You don't know what's in the basement, you don't—"
Voices rose from the street below. Carried clear through the shot-out window.
"—second team, hold the north alley, nobody exits—"
"Riley's got a trail. Blood trail, third building, going up." That voice was younger, urgent.
"Copy." Flat. Calm. The calm of a man reading a grocery list while a war happened around him. "Keegan, talk to me. Where is she?"
A pause. Then a third voice, low and graveled: "She's hurt and she's gone to ground. She does this—finds a corner, covers it, waits me out. Somebody get me a thermal on that building. Now."
Boots hit the stairwell. Several pairs, unhurried, in step, the way people climb stairs when the fight is already over everywhere else. On the landing below, something heavy sniffed the fallen Drapion and growled low. Beside it, quieter, a white four-legged shape stood absolutely still at the bottom of the stairs, staring up at the apartment door like it was reading something written on it in a language only it speaks.
A shadow broke the light under the door. Then stopped.
"Thermal confirms," someone said softly. "Three bodies in there. Hers, one down, and one upright. Civilian."
Silence for a beat. Then the low voice, right against the other side of the door now, pitched to carry through the wood. "This is Keegan Russ. The Gengar in there with you is mine." A knuckle rapped the door twice, firm, once. "I know she's cornered and poisoned and I know she won't hurt you unless you make her. So nobody in this stack wants to come through this door the hard way. But I am not leaving her."
A pause, and when he spoke again, it was directed past the door, gentle in a way that sounded almost painful: "Hey, Bones. I know you can hear me, sweetheart. I'm coming to you."
