-THE DISTRICTS-

There are 7 districts in Amonium. All with their unique colour, function, and people. They’re all ruled by distinct district leaders. The first, being Mr. Fell. He controls District 1, or otherwise commonly referred to as “Malice”. Mr. Fell is a refugee from a MafiaFell timeline and is known to be rather merciless and to have strong ties to the mob. The crimson red Malice district is known for its gang violence, major weapons dealing, and illegal monster fighting. This betting system is not unlike many fighting cages seen in other districts, only it’s sourced and funded by mobsters and criminals alike. These fighting rings are an illegal use of magic, and as the law states, you must pass a test as well as get assessed for power level, determining how strong you are, and receive a permit to use said magic in public or in fair, turn-based combat, which you can take part in in certain areas around Ammon. Here, the skies are blood red, and the streets are lined with buildings, akin to a modern-day downtown New York, if someone from the surface ever did wind up there to recognize the resemblance. This is the district that borders Solver and Abyssal. Everyone knows not to wander into Malice if you know what’s good for ya.

District 2, or “Cheat,” is the district of lights, gambling, sex, drugs, and anything else you can think of to bridal an ecstasy high-turned city. Filled with neon billboards, clubs, and such, it’s the single most place where every drug in Ammon is created. Its signature colour, being bright pinks and purples, the streets are lined with bars and shady people just waiting to catch you off guard. There are teetering pillars of light moving across its dark magenta sky constantly, and not to mention the casinos. There’s a reason why people say to never trust anyone from Cheat (hence the name), especially because it’s run by Meigan Ping. If you want anything to do with any sort of drug or club, he’ll know about it. Standing at 11’3, with 4 eyes and 4 arms, decked out in lavish pink feather boas and rose-tinted glasses, he’s not the guy you wanna mess with. His district has a history of getting into feuds with Trade and its district leader. They very outwardly do not get along.

District number 3, or creatively named “Trade” by Ammonium, is easily the largest district and houses the most people by far. The majority of Trade is just one Giant market, selling just about anything, really. At first, it may seem like a non-violent place, and on the vast surface, it is, but underneath all that, Trade holds some dark secrets. For example. The black market. Everyone knows about it, but no one talks about it. To be completely honest, you’ve got a better chance at receiving help from a stranger non-violently Trade than anywhere else, but that doesn’t mean you will. Trade may be less violent, but they are selfish. Rough. And they won’t hesitate to snatch you for cash if you’ve got some. The furthest portion of Trade is mainly made up of apartments and living flats. It's a place away from all the hustle and bustle of the market, and it’s the best chance you’ll get at making an (affordable) home for yourself in Ammon that isn’t in the capital. There are many families here, primarily Refugees, and while on the poorer side, there are plenty of jobs around. For many born here, their whole lives will stay in Trade, centered around the market, even if you’re a refugee. It’s become like a culture of sorts. The signature colour here in District 3 is orange, as almost the entire market side of Trade is illuminated with warm orange bulbs fueled by magic, which hang above everything like a carnival, and give the place an effervescent glow. With how much light there is, it’s almost like it could be daytime. Sure, it’s chaotic, but hey, it’s home for many people. The district leader, Blair, is known to be very involved with her community. She is a shorter, black-furred goat monster, often seen with a farmer's hat and rather normal-looking clothes. Though built of loyalty and honour, she’s had to do some difficult things to get where she is now. She cared about the refugees occupying the outer rim of trade; however, with so much on her plate, she can be blind to the things going on directly in the market, such as the black market trade and the major trafficking issue. Blair is very defensive of her district and especially vocal about refugees, being one herself. She is from an undisclosed timeline.

District 4 is solemnly nicknamed “Famine” by its residents, and is, to say the least, a dark and rather gloomy place. It takes its home in the further reaches of Ammon, and it’s inhabbitants consist of the lesser and weaker, mainly refugees of Ammon. The primary population of these monsters cannot speak or is too terrified to do so. The theme of Famine is a stormy, dark blue colour, with its buildings being much more worn-down or empty. Bioluminescent water plants like reeds and marsh-grass sprout from many places, and the main source of light comes from flickering neon blue signs that hang uselessly outside of shops or hotels, though these kinds of establishments are pretty rare to come by. Famine does, however, have a small faction of speaking monsters, though they are primarily rumours, and when they have been seen, are very skittish. All the monsters here do what they need to do to survive. Famine is named after–of course–its extreme lack of food and general living necessities like enough homes and running water. The district is made up of waterways and various complexes similar to those of typical apartment buildings seen around Ammonium; however, they seem unfinished, and only cover a small percentage of the district, the rest being dark forest partially covered by snow: the “border” that blurs into its neighboring district, Abyssal. The waterways glow a brilliant cyan, like the ones seen in Waterfall in the Underground, plus there are a few patches of echo flowers that even grow here. Curiously, they’re most commonly seen connected to vines that scale the sides of buildings. The district overall is a quiet one, with only a few neon lights illuminating the cobbled streets. This place is abundantly dark and cloudy, and while nearly every district looks as if it’s plunged into eternal darkness, this one is extra. It’s prone to rain much more often, so it’s not unusual to find puddles of rainwater decorating the cobbled streets and sidewalks. Another thing about this miserable place is that hardly any sunlight reaches Famine because it is almost entirely shadowed out by the bustling neighboring districts, plus the constant cloudy weather. Because of this, there his a major mold problem. A sickness that is transmitted through the air and plaguing the monsters of Famine. However, few have developed immunity to it, and passersby can easily acquire protection through cheap ventilation masks. The air is wet and cold, a reflection of the leader of District 4, named Elsie Mintz. She is easily the weakest of the district leaders, but is generally strong compared to most monsters in her district. She is an Ammonborn hybrid monster resembling a Shyren, possessing mermaid-like features and a gloomy atmosphere to her. Famine and Abyssal’s borders are not very clearly defined, though the two try not to engage in terf wars, for a reason that neither Elsie nor Abyssal’s leader has shared publicly yet.

District 5, namely “SOLVER”, is known to be the most secretive and advanced as far as technology goes, and is the source of all the city's power. Solver is bordered by Malice to the north, and to the east, it is divided from Trade by a river that runs a straight line from the outskirts, all the way to the heart of the city, in which it surrounds the capital. The district leader does not share much about themselves or their district for that matter, and outsiders are not very welcome, while, of course, not illegal, they are never treated quite nicely. All that is known about the district is that the people are all regal geniuses and inventors, and have a habit of calling the district the contagious name of “The district of progress.” It is officially the only district home to universities besides the capital. The district itself is lined with great white walls of steel, but within the walls, it houses a very futuristic-type scene, with almost every building following a strict architecture: White metal and yellow highlights. People from Solver do quite fancy the colour yellow, and the district, much like many of the other districts, possessed a distinct hue of it. It is also filled with the majority of the city’s factories, which build a lot of the machinery seen all over Ammon. Seen very rarely, though, is the District leader, named Echo Rylet. Again, little is known about them, other than the fact that they are Ammonborn and own a slim figure, with dark grey hair and two black horns, a white coat in which the collar stands upwards to cover their mouth, and they often walk with their hands behind their back. A defining feature is the gargoyle-like wings folded neatly to their back.

At District number 6, also known as “ABYSSAL”, we have the incarnation of a cold, dead city. The only district where it snows. The district known as Abyssal is the place where all “Au’s” that were sane enough to be let in, but insane enough to be kept with the rest of society, are kept. It is mostly covered by forest, the same forest that covers the west, half of Famine. Abyssal is like a place of banishment for monsters with nothing left to give. It is a dead and brutal plane, and if you were unlucky enough to wander in, there’s a pretty good chance you wouldn’t come back out. There’s a thick scent of dust in the air, and all seems still until something comes out from the darkness of the trees and takes you. Despite its lonely, desolate, and violent nature, the people of Abyssal actually stay here completely by choice. Most deranged monsters are, well, deranged enough to even be drawn to it. After all, Abysall is the only district where the basic laws regarding magic sparing, batteries…murder…all basically vanish. As long as you’re in Abyssal, no one’s coming to save you. As far as their crimes go… The other districts never really do anything about it because, well, as Mr. Fell would put it: “Yer turf, yer issue”. And when the people of Abyssal were prompted about it… Well, you can guess what happened. They laughed maniacally and vanished into the trees. The district is full of deranged killers, not unlike its ruler, Adam. Little is known about Adam other than that he’s a sick monster and that he controls his people through fear. Though. This method isn’t unpopular with the other district rulers. No one really knows why he holds so much power, as he isn’t the biggest or physically the strongest in his district, but he’s held his rank for longer than too long. Strangely enough, there are assorted structures scattered around the district, like abandoned cabins, entire empty parking garages, and even gas stations. There are cobbled roads lined with faint purple street lamps. Do not be fooled by Abyssal’s quiet nature; this district won’t hesitate to show you its fangs.

Lastly, we arrive at district number 7. Also proudly labeled, “CROWN.” Crown is easily the capital of Ammonium, the district placed smack-dab in the center of the “floating” city. Though the smallest of the districts, it is definitely the most popular, being like a meeting point for all the districts, which are connected to it by bridges that cross the river surrounding it like a moat. Its bustling streets are always lit with giant televised billboards, hologram signs, and streets that are always packed with people. Anyone familiar would compare it easily to the Big Apple itself. Only bigger, and comprised of vermilion, white, and gold. And what is a city without? Violence! Yup, it's not as violent as Malice by far, but it is surely the scrappiest. Crown has basically everything from clubs to banks to even fast food places. It's definitely one of the more socially advanced places in Ammon. It has transportation services, real apartments, and, if you really wanna make it big without losing your head, Crown is the place to be. Its near impossible to get housing here, mostly because of how crowded it is, but that doesn’t stop monsters who just love to be in the center of all of it. Speaking of the center, Crown is home to two of the many glorious landmarks in Ammon, one of which is the “Spire”, a huge, shiny red and gold building. This is where Crown’s district leader, Alexander Keys, resides, and also where important decisions about Ammon are debated. It’s the main head of operations and is known to be the place where all the district leaders come to meet for gatherings every month, sharing status updates on their districts. No one really knows what they talk about up in those meetings, as they are kept strictly confidential, as is Alex Keys’ face. The identity if Crown’s district leader is kept secret for a reason that is not entirely known. Keys is clearly the strongest of all the leaders and holds the most power over his district. It is unknown how he rose to such power, but he serves as a sort of pillar of hope for refugees and Ammonborn alike. There are many versions of the story—supposedly Keys was the very first refugee, or supposedly he was the one that was entrusted with Amon, or the “True Alpha Timeline”, by the guardians who created it, or supposedly he was part of a group of monsters who created Amon by combining their power. There’s even a theory that he, himself, created Ammonium alone, and that’s why he’s lived for so long and why he hides his face. The spire isn’t the only major landmark in Crown, however. Toward the southern quadrant of the district, there stands a marvelous, great fountain, but not just any fountain, however. This isn’t just a fountain meant to be filled with just water, no. No, this was a fountain that once flowed with just MAGIC. For this, it is the Seal. The device used to create all of Ammonium, this world all started with that structure. It’s what allows the city to exist in the middle of the multiverse. The stories say that the guardians, or great deities, or even Alexander Keys himself, channeled all of their magic into the Seal, making it possible to create a city out of nothing. The Seal, using magic, filled in all the cracks, allowing the place to exist in the Antivoid without a universe. You see, the Antivoid used to be a very common place to end up if you popped out of your timeline. In more than most cases, you would be stranded. Left to die by the hands of the extremities of the Antivoid as it slowly rips your code apart. But now, the Antivoid IS Ammon. Of course, it’s still possible to get to an expanse of the Antivoid, but it is known to be extremely difficult, and only the higher-ups have direct access. Now, you may be wondering where all the Au’s, or “Alternate Universes”, and timelines are kept? Well, of yours, you simply couldn’t move them, so they built Ammon below them! Yup! If you somehow manage to get out far enough from the center of Ammon, where the magic barrier is keeping the anomalies out and essentially holding it up like a tent (as well as creating a day/night cycle), you’ll be able to see the timelines and universes glittering in the sky like stars. The Seal is also the thing powering all the magic support beams that keep such a large city like Ammon from collapsing, powering the barrier and its veil put up to protect residents from distortion caused by the Antivoid!

Facts about Ammonium:

-Ammon is a city that is almost completely comprised of just monsters. This is because in many, many rules of a universe, there is usually only one or two humans in the entire timeline at the most, so that lowers the chance of them being the one to slip out of their home universe. This is also narrowed down, because in more, many, many cases, the human of said universe is what’s called the “player”. The player is the being basically in control of the timeline. Players CANNOT leave their timeline. No matter what. If they somehow do, then the Antivoid would swiftly corrupt them, and they would perish. Now, if a non-player human did find themselves on a rescue transport train to Ammonium, the magic from the barrier keeping them safe would just be too much for their SOUL to handle. Ammonium literally thrives and is completely composed of magic. All of it, brimming in the air and atmosphere, would significantly lower their chance of survival. And even if ALL of those things are surpassed by one miracle of a case, then they would very most likely not make it a day in Ammon, as the cruel reality of the place is trafficking, violence, and certain skeletons who don’t remember humans in the best reflective light. Humans are a very, very, VERY rare sight, and are often gawked over by many monsters.

-About Ammonborn: Because of the are-specific magic in each district, it’s very common for Ammonborn monsters to possess an “accent colour” (like their magic colour, basically), matching the signature colour of their district.

Ammonborn: A monster who was born between two monsters, in Ammonium city.

Refugee: A monster who was taken to Ammonium because either their Au collapsed, or they slipped out by accident, or glitched out upon a reset.

-Currency: The Ammonium currency is called G. A shortened universal term for Gold.

-The most common species of monster to come by is a skeleton monster. Otherwise known as a “Sans” or someone who came of one. This is because “Sans’s” are the most common beings in the multiverse, believe it or not.

-Most refugees come up with new names or attempt to “reinvent” themselves by choosing a new name. Newsflash: when you’re stuck in a city literally filled to the brim with other yous, you tend to feel a little less unique. This is a way to better distinguish who they are, anyway. Some stubbounr monsters kept their original names.
