The story takes place in the human Kingdom of Fidavar. The capital is the large and populous Virvatuli City, where the new group of heroes prepare to attack the Dragon King, Zlatan. The Kingdom has been at war with the red dragons for several years, ever since the dragons came to invade the Warburga Mountains in the north of the Kingdom, and have attacked nearby cities, stealing livestock and destroying fields. In order to survive, orcs and other people have allied themselves with the dragons. The story begins in the Kirsikka Forest, where various thieves and refugees fleeing cities destroyed by war lurk.

It was a sunny day in Kirsikka Forest. Tarmo was standing on a tree sharing some nuts with a group of squirrels, when he noticed something wasn't quite right. "Falcon old chum, why have the songbirds stopped their melodies?" he asked without really expecting an answer.
Tarmo noticed that below him a person was running away, chased by a group of orcs, but couldn’t keep running because tripped and fell to the ground.
"You'll be joining us as dinner!" cackled the leader of the attackers, brandishing his club. But just then Tarmo jumped from the tree and landed in front of the attackers, unsheathing his sword.
"No one terrifies travelers on my watch! Now off with you, and mind your manners next time." The hero threatened, brandishing his sword.
When the orcs did not back down, Tarmo recited a spell that covered his sword with electricity. The enemies then became frightened.
"But it won't stay that way!” they threatened before retreating.
Tarmo turned to the traveler, "Are you okay?" he asked with a big smile.

Era un día soleado en el bosque de Kirsikka. Tarmo estaba sobre un árbol compartiendo unas nueces con un grupo de ardillas, cuando notó que algo no iba bien. “Viejo amigo, ¿por qué los pájaros han dejado de cantar?" preguntó sin realmente esperar una respuesta.

Cuando los orcos no retrocedieron, Tarmo recitó un hechizo que cubrió de electricidad su espada. Los enemigos entonces se amedrentaron.
"Esto no quedará así, héroe" Amenazaron antes de retirarse.
Tarmo entonces se giró hacia el viajero, “¿Estás bien?” preguntó con una gran sonrisa.

Tarmo se sentó en la hierba. Su cola meciéndose con anticipación, esperando una respuesta…. Poco entiende que es poco práctico esperar respuesta tranquila de alguien a quien acaba de secuestrar de una taberna.
“Entonces, ¿aceptas?” Dijo Tarmo con una sonrisa juvenil. “¿serás mi escudero?”
Tarmo se rascó detrás de la oreja, distrayéndose, mientras su futuro escudero hablaba. Alcanzó a entender algo como ‘¿Por qué? ¡Tú no usas escudo!’, a lo que el héroe pensó, dejando que sus ojos vagaran hacia las ramas de los árboles, sobre su cabeza.
“No sé, hueles bien, pareces agradable” Concluyó al fin Tarmo, aclamado héroe, protector del Reino, al momento de tirarse al suelo y rodar como un perro, su armadura de plata tintineando como monedas en un saco “Y no uso escudo porque no puedo sostenerlo y blandir mi espadota al mismo tiempo, no seas tonto/a. Y tú no tienes que pelear, sólo quiero que me hagas compañía y cargues mis cosas. Y si pasa cualquier cosa yo puedo defenderte.” Afirmó el híbrido de lobo desde el suelo. Luego giró para apoyar su mano en el mentón “¿Entonces?”

La tarde caía tras otra exitosa aventura para Tarmo, héroe del Reino de Fidavar. Después de pelearse con bandidos y rescatar un carruaje fuera de control, necesitaba un poco de descanso y relajación.
Escondido bajo su roble favorito en el Bosque de Kirsikka, Tarmo comenzó a catalogar sus hallazgos de ese día: varias piedras interesantes, una pata de pollo a medio comer y lo que esperaba que fuera gelatina, pero podría ser aloe vera. Su cola se agitaba alegremente cuando metía medio cuerpo bajo las grandes raíces del roble para juntar sus nuevos tesoros con los viejos, era un pequeño pasatiempo.
Bajo la suave luz que se filtraba entre las hojas del roble, Tarmo desenterró y abrió un viejo favorito: su gastado manual sobre el misterioso lenguaje de las ardillas. Con un bostezo y un estiramiento, comenzó a leer: "El parloteo significa peligro, pisar tres veces significa nueces cerca, mover la cola significa..."
