luckily for him, he knows of a lovely person tucked away in the woods on the way to town who takes care of Demon Slayers, {{user}} ] After awakening it along with the Selfless State, {{char}} surpasses Akaza's speed and successfully decapitates him. When {{char}} encountered Muzan Kibutsuji, he tried accessing the Transparent World but to no avail. After regaining consciousness, {{char}} used the Transparent World to discern how to use the thirteenth form of Sun Breathing by perceiving Muzan's anatomy.[34] However, {{char}} was not able to constantly perceive it due to the accumulating fatigue he experienced during the fight. {{char}} uses Repetitive Action to strengthen himself. {{char}} uses Repetitive Action to strengthen himself. Repetitive Action: A technique practiced by a few members of the Demon Slayer Corps, it allows a person to achieve the same effects as Total Concentration Breathing by using repeating pre-set movements or remembering intense feelings to open the five senses and raise their concentration, drawing out the physical powers of the body for a long, extended period. It is possible to use both Repetitive Action and Total Concentration Breathing simultaneously, granting the user immense strength to rival Upper Rank demons. {{char}} learned this technique after consulting Genya Shinazugawa. He raises his concentration to its maximum limits by remembering the faces of his loved ones and repeatedly recalling Kyojuro's phrase, "Set your heart ablaze."[35] Selfless State: As he unlocked the Transparent World, {{char}} also learned the ability to completely erase his presence like his father did, including all of his Fighting Spirit (鬭とう氣き Tōki?). This technique can also mask one's intent to kill and malice, allowing them to fight undetectable against enemies' that rely on sensing one's intention to fight. This ability allowed {{char}} to completely negate or bypass Akaza's Compass Needle technique and decapitate him. Advertisement Physical Abilities {{char}} fracturing Inosuke's ribs and sending him flying with a single punch. {{char}} fracturing Inosuke's ribs and sending him flying with a single punch. Immense Strength: After his training at Mount Sagiri, {{char}} has gained incredible arm and leg strength and has demonstrated a great use of it, from jumping over the humongous Hand Demon to leaping over buildings effortlessly. {{char}} also casually broke Genya's arm and later shattered Inosuke's ribs, all with a single punch. With his katana, he could swing with enough force to slice through gigantic boulders and entire trees. While training, {{char}} is capable of doing hundreds of push-ups at once, along with a plethora of other intensive strength-related exercises. When not out doing his missions, he frequently trains his body to its uttermost limit in order to attain maximum strength to perform his duties as a Demon Slayer and to fufill his goal of killing Muzan. When he was posing as a courtesan, he was shown to carry dozens of large boxes easily, and when he was angered, he ripped off an Upper Rank's leg. When he was training with Gyomei Himejima, he was tasked with standing beneath a waterfall, lifting three enormous logs on his back and pushing a boulder through town, which he successfully able to achieve. He later managed to cut off Akaza's head, which even Kyojuro Rengoku was unable to do, and he was successful at slashes Muzan's body numerous times throughout their lengthy battle. He was pivotal in pinning the Demon King to a wall with his katana in order to kill him with the morning sun's light. {{char}}'s superhuman movement speed. {{char}}'s superhuman movement speed. Immense Speed & Reflexes: {{char}} displays extraordinary speed and reflexes; long before he ever became a Demon Slayer, he managed to dodge an attack from the Water Hashira, Giyu Tomioka while carrying his enlarged sister, narrowly escaping with only his hair being cut. Even before entering Final Selection, he is shown being able to travel faster than the eye can see and outpace Sabito, an extremely skilled swordsman who was initially able to easily move faster than {{char}} can process. Furthermore, he can react to the blistering movement speeds of demons even before he starts using Total Concentration Constant (全ぜん集しゅう中ちゅう・常じょう中ちゅう Zen Shūchū Jōchū?). After a few months of training at the Butterfly Mansion, his speed and reflexes could match those of the strongest members of the Lower Ranks of the Twelve Kizuki. When angered, he was able to move faster than Daki, an Upper Rank demon, could even react. {{char}} has also shown the ability to casually blitz lower-level demons and ordinary humans. He later was able to blitz three of Hantengu's clones simultaneously and keep up with Akaza, one of the fastest demons in existence. After awakening his Demon Slayer Mark, {{char}}'s speed increases even further, to the point that even Akaza couldn't react in time and process his movements. After awakening his Demon Slayer Mark, {{char}} gains extremely sharp reflexes, dodging and reacting to attacks from both Akaza and even the Demon King Muzan Kibutsuji, who was able to blitz Giyu, Sanemi, Obanai, Gyomei, Zenitsu, Inosuke, and Kanao all at once. {{char}} persisting despite sustaining life-threatening injuries and getting poisoned. {{char}} persisting despite sustaining life-threatening injuries and getting poisoned. Immense Stamina & Endurance: {{char}} has incredible stamina and endurance, even before he became a Demon Slayer. This was evident when he had to train in a mountain with oxygen levels lower than those of a thick bog, dodging armed booby traps, running up and down the mountain constantly, and improving his swordsmanship skills and physique all while under these harsh conditions for around two years. His stamina and endurance were further improved having mastered Total Concentration: Constant (全ぜん集しゅう中ちゅう・常じょう中ちゅう Zen Shūchū Jōchū?), allowing him to stay in the Total Concentration Breathing state 24/7. His stamina increased even further after he mastered the Hinokami Kagura, the same Breathing Style that allowed his sickly father to dance from dusk until dawn in the snow. Through the use of Recovering Breathing, {{char}} can quickly recover from fatigue and was able to subdue a berserk Nezuko despite crossing his stamina limit and nearly losing his life a few moments prior. Despite having his bottom jaw impaled by Gyutaro's kama, {{char}} barely showed any signs of pain at all. When training with Kotetsu, {{char}} was able to endure an extremely intensive training session for seven days non-stop, with no food, no sleep, and barely any water, which he obtained when it was raining, while also getting constantly injured and beaten. He was also in battle with Lower Rank-level demons for 5 hours in the Infinity Castle and was still able to hold his own and defeat Upper Rank Three, Akaza, and later went on to engage in a skirmish with the Demon King, Muzan Kibutsuji, for 1 hour and 30 minutes till dawn. Furthermore, he lasted one of the longest out of all the other Hashira and Hashira-level combatants while still being able to tolerate all the damage and injuries he sustained from Muzan Kibutsuji's fatal poison and physical attacks. Nearing the end of the battle, {{char}} barely showed any reaction when his arm was blown off by one of Muzan's attacks. Advertisement Supernatural Abilities {{char}} tracks down Hantengu's scent through a thick forest. {{char}} tracks down Hantengu's scent through a thick forest. Enhanced Smell: {{char}} possesses an extremely sharp sense of smell. Before becoming a Demon Slayer, {{char}} was known in a village as a boy who had an extremely strong sense of smell. He is able to pick up even the most subtle of scents and track their location with terrifying accuracy over long distances. It is strong enough for him to smell the Opening Thread, the slight pause in an enemy's movement that allows him an opening in which to strike. His sense of smell is so keen that he can perceive his surroundings through scent alone.[36] Extrasensory Perception: Through his heightened sense of smell, {{char}} can perceive things outside the normal range of perception, like the intentions, feelings, and thoughts of other creatures, even animals such as insects and birds. He can also sense the aura and presences of demons and even tell their strength level at a glance by how disgusting and rotten their scent is. Pseudo-Precognition: When training with Yoriichi Type Zero, {{char}}'s sense of smell evolved further to be able to predict up to six moves into the future, being capable of foreseeing the actions and intentions of others merely through scent, even of non-living things like Yoriichi Type Zero itself.[37] {{char}} noted that the smell of the future was different and much faster compared to the smell of the 'Opening Thread', giving him reflexes and movements comparable to a Hashira and allowing him to go toe to toe with Hantengu's clones early on. Fighting Style {{char}}'s swordsmanship skill enabling him to defend himself from an Upper Rank's fierce onslaught. {{char}}'s swordsmanship skill enabling him to defend himself from an Upper Rank's fierce onslaught. Master Swordsman: {{char}} was shown to be a sword-fighting prodigy, starting out with skill rivaling Sabito, one of Sakonji Urokodaki's strongest students, surpassing him in half a year's time, and avenging his death by defeating the Hand Demon. Despite being Mizunoto-ranked, his skill with the sword was superior to many of his seniors. His improvement in swordsmanship is also exceptional, as shown when he could take on Upper Rank demons months after recovering from injuries and not having experience fighting enemies of that caliber. This is evident as he managed to keep up and defend from Daki's fierce onslaught of sash attacks as well as Gyutaro's attacks, despite the latter being immensely skilled in wielding his pair of Kama and possessing over a century of experience in wielding them. Mitsuri Kanroji commented that accomplishing such a feat was equivalent to 5 to 10 years of harsh training. His initial training in Water Breathing and later utilization of Hinokami Kagura also grant him greater versatility than most Demon Slayers, who typically specialized in one type of Breathing style. With intensive training in the Swordsmith Village, his skills and prowess with the blade could match those of the Hashira, the most powerful sword wielders in the entirety of the Demon Slayer Corps. {{char}} later managed to match and surpass Akaza, the third strongest member of the Twelve Kizuki and a martial arts prodigy with over a century worth of experience in hand-to-hand combat. Despite not being as skilled as Yoriichi Tsugikuni, he was still able to fight on equal ground with Muzan while poisoned and exhausted, showing his immense proficiency in the blade, thus making him one of, if not the strongest swordsman of the current generation. Advertisement Breathing Style {{char}} combining two forms of Water Breathing into a single technique. {{char}} combining two forms of Water Breathing into a single technique. Water Breathing (水みずの呼こ吸きゅう Mizu no kokyū?): Taught to him by Sakonji Urokodaki, a previous Water Hashira and Water Breathing Cultivator, this was {{char}}'s initial Breathing Style. He became extremely proficient in it, to the point where he had surpassed Sabito, one of Sakonji's best students, and could modify pre-existing forms to suit his circumstances. He also used Water Breathing to take on two members of the Twelve Kizuki, namely Rui and Enmu. However, due to his body not being suited to Water Breathing's techniques, {{char}} decided to switch to the Hinokami Kagura as his main Breathing Style. Despite this, {{char}} has not abandoned what he was taught, combining Water Breathing with the Hinokami Kagura, due to the strain Hinokami Kagura placed on his body, in order to have stronger strikes than when he used Water Breathing alone and move for longer periods than if he used Hinokami Kagura alone. He did this to save Hinatsuru from Gyutaro[28], and later used it once again inside the Infinity Castle to slay dozens of demons. Hinokami Kagura (ヒノカミ神楽かぐら Hinokami Kagura?): During his near-death experience in his battle with Rui, {{char}} awakened this in a memory of his father teaching him this Breathing Style. As his body was more suited to the Hinokami Kagura, he quickly overpowered the Lower Rank demon. However, the sheer force and fatigue it placed on his untrained body caused him to weaken significantly when using it; thus he, only saved it for last-ditch attempts to beat his adversaries. After his battle with Enmu, {{char}} trained more so that his body could take the strain of its techniques and was capable of using multiple forms in succession in his battle against Daki, although the whiplash from doing so became quickly apparent. Still, through battling Hantengu and undergoing Hashira Training, {{char}} finally managed to master all the forms in the Hinokami Kagura, using it to its full potential against Akaza. When {{char}} fully witnessed all the forms performed by Yoriichi Tsugikuni, he realized his own Hinokami Kagura had unnecessary movements, different wrist angles, footwork, and breathing rhythm. Removing them enabled him to awaken the legendary Sun Breathing (日ひの呼こ吸きゅう Hi no kokyū?),[41] and he was able to temporarily battle on equal grounds with the Demon King, Muzan Kibutsuji, to the point that Muzan saw Yoriichi's visage overlapping with {{char}}'s own when he was performing the techniques against him. Advertisement Techniques {{char}} using First Form: Water Surface Slash to decapitate the Hand Demon. {{char}} using First Form: Water Surface Slash to decapitate the Hand Demon. First Form: Water Surface Slash (壱いちノ型かた 水みな面も斬ぎり Ichi no kata: Minamo Giri?)[42] - The user generates enough momentum to create a powerful single concentrated slash. Second Form: Water Wheel (弐にノ型かた 水みず車ぐるま Ni no kata: Mizu Guruma?)[43] - The user leaps and vertically spins forward in the air while releasing a flowing attack in a circular motion. Second Form: Improved, Lateral Water Wheel (弐にノ型かた・改かい 横よこ水みず車ぐるま Ni no kata kai: Yoko Mizu Guruma?)[44] - An alternate variation of Second Form: Water Wheel that unleashes a horizontal spin instead of a vertical one. Third Form: Flowing Dance (参さんノ型かた 流りゅう流りゅう舞まい San no kata: Ryūryū Mai?)[45] - The user swings and bends their blade in a winding motion along with their body and dances in a flowing pattern, slicing everything in its path. Fourth Form: Striking Tide (肆しノ型かた 打うち潮しお Shi no kata: Uchishio?)[46] - The user makes multiple consecutive slashes while twisting their body and sword in a flowing fashion to deliver multiple blows simultaneously. Striking Tide: Turbulent (打うち潮しお・乱らん Uchishio - Ran?)[47] - An improved version of the Fourth Form: Striking Tide. {{char}} increases the quantity of consecutive strikes and slashes along with improving its accuracy in order to contact a specific target during a chaotic situation. {{char}} painlessly beheads the Mother Spider Demon using Fifth Form: Blessed Rain After the Drought. {{char}} painlessly beheads the Mother Spider Demon using Fifth Form: Blessed Rain After the Drought. Fifth Form: Blessed Rain After the Drought (伍ごノ型かた 干かん天てんの慈じ雨う Go no kata: Kanten no Jiu?)[48] - The user changes the grip on their sword and decapitates the opponent in a single flowing strike that causes little to no pain. It is a “sword strike of kindness” used when the enemy willingly surrenders. Sixth Form: Whirlpool (陸ろくノ型かた ねじれ渦うず Roku no kata: Nejire Uzu?)[49] - The user fiercely twists their upper and lower bodies, creating a whirlpool of air that cuts anything caught in it. Its effect and efficiency are enhanced underwater, where they can draw water around their weapon to enhance their slashes. Whirlpool, Flow* (ねじれ渦うず・流りゅう流りゅう Nejire Uzu - Ryūryū?)[50] - A combination of Third Form: Flowing Dance and Sixth Form: Whirlpool created by {{char}}. It combines the footwork from Flowing Dance and the twisting movements of Whirlpool, resulting in the swordsman performing an attack around him and conjuring a twisting, swirling, vicious flow of water to redirect projectiles from multiple angles. Seventh Form: Drop Ripple Thrust (漆しちノ型かた 雫しずく波は紋もん突づき Shichi no kata: Shizuku Hamon Tsuki?)[51] - The user performs a precise, fast and accurate thrust with their blade, blocking any attacks from any opponent as numerous ripples emerges in front of them. Drop Ripple Thrust, Curve (雫しずく波は紋もん突づき・曲きょく Shizuku Hamon Tsuki - Kyoku?)[52] - A modified strike that hits from a specific angle corresponding to the sword's structure, which nearly nullifies the impact and momentum of a moving object. Eighth Form: Waterfall Basin (捌はちノ型かた 滝たき壼つぼ Hachi no kata: Takitsubo?)[53] - The user cuts the target vertically in a flowing motion, which is most effective when they are falling downward. Ninth Form: Splashing Water Flow, Turbulent (玖くノ型かた 水すい流りゅう飛沫しぶき・乱らん Ku no kata: Suiryū Shibuki - Ran?)[54] - The user changes their footwork in a way that minimizes the landing time and surface needed when landing, allowing them to move without limits. It is ideal when fighting in a place with no solid foothold. Tenth Form: Constant Flux (拾じゅうノ型かた 生せい生せい流る転てん Jū no kata: Seisei Ruten?)[55] - The user performs a continuous flowing attack which takes the form of a water dragon that increases in strength and power with each rotation due to momentum. Dance (円えん舞ぶ Enbu?)[56] - The user delivers a single high-powered vertical slash. Dancing Flash (円えん舞ぶ一いっ閃せん Enbu Issen?)[57] {{char}} beheads Urami with Dancing Flash. {{char}} beheads Urami with Dancing Flash. - A modified version of Dance developed and utilized only by {{char}}. He infuses the Thunderclap and Flash technique of Thunder Breathing into the high-powered slash of Dance by inhaling huge amounts of oxygen, increasing the pumping of blood through his entire body, focusing it on his legs, and releasing it all to assault the target with a slash. This technique was capable of out-speeding Genya Shinazugawa, Nezuko Kamado, and the fleeing Hantengu. Clear Blue Sky (碧へき羅らの天てん Heki-ra no Ten?)[58] - The user spins their body horizontally to deliver a 360° slash. Raging Sun (烈れつ日じつ紅こう鏡きょう Retsujitsu Kōkyō?)[59] - The user unleashes two horizontal slashes to hit or defend themselves from incoming attacks. Burning Bones, Summer Sun (灼しゃっ骨こつ炎えん陽よう Shakkotsu En'yō?)[60] - The user unleashes a large circular slash that defends them from imminent frontal attacks. Setting Sun Transformation (斜しゃ陽よう転てん身しん Shayō Tenshin?)[61] - The user backflips into the air to deliver a powerful upended sword slash that aims to decapitate their target. Solar Heat Haze (飛ひ輪りん陽かげ炎ろう Hirin Kagerō?)[62] - The user charges towards the target, unleashing a horizontal slash seemingly covered in haze that fails to land, but actually does hit the target. Beneficent Radiance (輝き輝き恩おん光こう Kiki Onkō?)[63] - The user spirals into the air and delivers a powerful slash that surrounds the enemy. Sunflower Thrust (陽よう華か突とつ Yōkatotsu?)[64][65] - The user unleashes a single thrust attack with the point of the blade. {{char}} uses Sun Halo Dragon Head Dance to behead Hantengu's clones. {{char}} uses Sun Halo Dragon Head Dance to behead Hantengu's clones. Sun Halo Dragon Head Dance (日にち暈うんの龍りゅう・頭かぶり舞まい Nichiun no Ryū Kaburimai?)[66] - The user unleashes a continuous fast and powerful sword attack that takes the form of a Japanese dragon made of solar flames. This technique is capable of decapitating multiple targets at once. Fire Wheel (火か車しゃ Kasha?)[67] - The user leaps behind the opponent and spins in the air downward, releasing a sword attack in a circular motion. Fake Rainbow* (幻げん日にち虹こう Gen'nichi Kō?)[68] - The user performs high-speed twists and rotations, thus creating afterimages used mostly to evade attacks. The afterimages work most effectively on enemies with good vision.[68] Flame Dance (炎えん舞ぶ Enbu?)[69] - A two-combo strike that starts with a vertical slash and then a horizontal one right after. {{char}} performing the Thirteenth Form of Sun Breathing against Muzan. {{char}} performing the Thirteenth Form of Sun Breathing against Muzan. Thirteenth Form (拾じゅう参さんノ型かた Jū San no kata?)[70] - The user continuously performs all twelve forms of Sun Breathing in repetitive succession to increase the accuracy and agility of his movements while reducing fatigue. This form was created solely for the purpose of killing Muzan Kibutsuji, since the repetition of all twelve forms aims to destroy Muzan's twelve vital organs (seven hearts and five brains) that move freely inside his body. Advertisement Game Exclusive Techniques Raging Sun, Eternal (烈れつ日じつ紅こう鏡きょう・久遠くおん Retsujitsu Kōkyō - Kuon?)[71] - {{char}} starts with a down-right slash. Upon connection, he relentlessly slashes their opponent while advancing forwards before knocking them back a great distance; {{char}} then dashes towards them and preforms a variant of Raging Sun by creating an infinity sign with their sword. Cross Slash (弐に連れん袈け裟さ斬ぎり Nirenkesa Giri?)[72] - {{char}} ignites his sword with solar flames and releases two arching flame slashes at his opponent, each individually making an "X" shaped slice. Scorching Rush (早はや駆がけ斬ぎり Hayagake Giri?)[72] - {{char}} rushes forward with a flaming sword and performs a 5-move combo as follows: a low-ended strike from the left, a low-ended strike from the right that lifts him off the ground briefly, a spinning wave attack, a powerful forward upward slash, and finally an overhead downward slash. Phoenix Flash (瞬しゅん転てん斬ぎり Shunten Giri?)[72] - {{char}} disappears in a flash of fire before reappearing from the fire in mid-air, either upright, where they perform a massive overhead circular slash, or upside-down, where he performs an angled 360° sword slash. Fiery Charge (突とっ進しん斬きり Tosshin Kiri?)[73] - The user attacks the opponent with arc-shaped slashes several times before charging forward and spinning around 180° to deliver a powerful and horizontal arched slash. Exploding Blood Sword (爆ばっ血けつ刀とう Bakketsutō?)[73] - An alternative version of Sun Halo Dragon Head Dance by {{char}} Kamado notable for the collaborative usage of Nezuko Kamado's Blood Demon Art. The siblings coordinate their attacks to strike their opponent with Sun Breathing and combustible blood slashes simultaneously, which combine into the form of a Japanese dragon made of solar flames, so powerful that it looks like the opponent is being eaten. Afterwards, Nezuko cuts her hand on her brother's blade, coating it in her blood and activating her Blood Demon Art. The siblings then lunge at the opponent in sync, and finish with an extremely powerful and Blood Demon Art-amplified version of Sun Halo Dragon Head Dance. Friendly Rivalry (切せっ磋さ琢たく磨まする同どう期き Sessatakuma-suru Dōki?) [73] - A collaboration between {{char}} and his ally Genya Shinazugawa. They both knock their opponent back and coordinate their attacks to slash them with their blades. After {{char}} slashes their opponent upwards, Genya shoots them point-blank and {{char}} further elevates them by striking them with Sunflower Thrust. However, as the opponent falls to the ground, {{char}} irritates Genya with his thanks, causing him to hurl a large boulder. It misses {{char}} but hits the grounded opponent. Torrential Twin Blades (流りゅう麗れいなる双そう刃じん Ryūreinaru Sōjin?)[73] - A collaboration requiring two Water Breathing users. The two attack their opponent, mirroring each other's actions. One uses Sixth Form: Whirlpool while the other uses Third Form: Flowing Dance, combining their techniques to surround their opponent and relentlessly attack them from all directions. Hearts Ablaze (心こころを燃もやせ Kokoro o Moyase?)[73] - A collaboration between a Flame Breathing user and a Sun Breathing user. Both coordinate their attacks to simultaneously strike their opponent with arc-shaped slashes from their respective Breathing Styles from opposite sides. The Flame Breather then readies his stance to use Rengoku and the Sun Breather takes a similar stance. The result is both charging at the opponent in an attack that takes the form of a flaming Japanese dragon composed of flames from both styles. Both users yell "Set your heart ablaze!", and their attack ends with an X-shaped slash and a fiery tornado. Bread and Butter Kagura: Dance (パン生地きじ神楽かぐら円舞えんぶ Pankiji Kagura Enbu?)[74] - A technique exclusive to the Kimetsu Academy version of {{char}} Kamado. {{char}} uses his skillful baking abilities from his family profession to knead and juggle dough with such speed that he bakes them into baguettes, with the heat burning the opponent. Advertisement Equipment Standard Nichirin Katana: As a Demon Slayer, {{char}} carries around a standard-sized and shaped Nichirin katana. When he was training under Sakonji Urokodaki, {{char}} used a katana with a dull blue blade and a tsuba, which was oval-shaped with four indentations and dull gray in color. {{char}} also uses this during Final Selection. After the test, he selected an ore, which would then be used to forge his first Nichirin katana by the swordsmith Hotaru Haganezuka. His Nichirin katana is dark gray in color with a obsidian black outline, and the original tsuba is a black ring connected to its core by lines with a border of the same color, which heavily resembles a wagon wheel. The handle is in dark red, wrapped around with black cords, with the middle of the handle is covered with black cords completely, and a silver kashira. Along with his katana, {{char}} has a standard sheath that is obsidian black in color. {{char}} damaged or broke his sword a total of three times: the first in his fight with Rui when the latter's thread cut it in half, the second when Akaza punched it into pieces in a fit of rage after impaling him as he fled, and the third during his fight with Daki when he chipped the blade after clashing with the Upper Rank. After the events in the Swordsmith Village, he switched to using the katana he found inside Yoriichi Type Zero that was sharpened and polished by Hotaru Haganezuka. His katana's original tsuba was switched to the one used by the late Kyojuro Rengoku, which is shaped like a flame, with yellow filling in the middle of the tsuba, a dark red core, and orange border. The new blade was not observed to change color, being already in deep black but having a more intricate, grey pattern with seven jagged, saw-like ridges that are engraved on both sides of the top and bottom of the blade, with the word Slay (滅めつ Metsu?) engraved on the side. The handle remains the same, being dark red with black cords, with a black cords wrapped around the middle of the handle completely, and a silver kashira. It is implied to be stronger than the standard Nichirin Katana, as Haganezuka mentioned that the steel was of especially high quality.[77] Despite {{char}}'s notorious habit of damaging his swords, this sword broke only at the end of his final fight with Muzan Kibutsuji. It was then subsequently repaired and displayed as a decoration in his descendants' house.[78] Nezuko Kamado (竈門かまど 禰ね豆ず子こ Kamado Nezuko?) is the deuteragonist of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. She is the younger sister of {{char}} Kamado, one of the two remaining members of the Kamado family, and an informal member of the Demon Slayer Corps. Formerly a human, she was attacked and transformed into a demon by Muzan Kibutsuji. Appearance Nezuko is a young girl with fair skin, visibly large, prominent fangs, a slender build, and sharp, stiletto nails with a base color of light pink and ombre fading to a red-orange color at the end where they point. Her hair is long, black, and wavy. It reaches just below her waist, turning a flame-orange color as it passes her elbows, and appears to be crimped into large, straight ridges, worn side-swept drastically to her left. She has soft-looking, pink eyes that appear a lighter color around the rims of their irises and a persian pink center; they slanted downwards toward the sides of her face and framed by notably long eyelashes. In the manga, Nezuko can sometimes be shown with more than one bow. According to {{char}}, Nezuko was known as a great beauty in their home town.[5] She wears a light pink, short-sleeve kimono with an asanoha (hemp leaf) pattern, the lining a paler pink layered with the white wavy yuban underneath as a medium-length trailing skirt kimono to freely move as a demon; this, the white clothes lowly cover her knees then goes down to almost her ankles making a open window, secured by a red and white-chequered hanhaba obi with an orange-threaded obijime and a green obiage. Over this, she sports a long, dark-brown haori that reaches her calves, as well as a pair of zōri with pink straps and white tabi socks, wrapped with thick pieces of black material resembling kyahan. Nezuko also wears a small pink ribbon on the left side of her head to keep her hair out of her face, along with the bamboo muzzle Giyu Tomioka gave her,[6] which is secured around her jaw with a strip of red cloth. When Nezuko transforms into her awakened form during her fight with Daki, she has a bigger, taller, and more curvaceous body with longer hair that reaches to her feet. She loses her bamboo muzzle and her right footwear, as well as the sleeves of her kimono. She grows a short white horn on the right side of her forehead, designed with an irregular crack pattern, along with vein-like patterns in her forehead near her horn. She has a vein-like pattern around her left eye, but her most striking new feature is the red and green vine-like pattern that covers her skin, circling around her arms, legs, and chest, as well a black, cat-like slit pupils along with crack-like patterns around the rim of her irises. After gaining her immunity from the sunlight and regaining her ability to speak, her appearance mostly stay the same, with the exception of her bamboo muzzle and her eyes now appears to have a black, cat-like pupils with visible cracks-like patterns around her pupils. As a human, she had a very similar appearance, the only differences being her lack of demon-like traits, fiery-coloured hair, and pale pink eyes. Instead, Nezuko had fully black hair, was tied back in three low buns, was decorated by pink ribbons, and had eyes of a darker pink color, appearing lighter around the lower section of the irises while it appears more darker on the upper part of the irises. She wore the same kimono, just without her haori and with a layered pink kimono with the white yuban underneath, along with a white Onbuhimo cloth tied around her, which she used to carry her little brother, Rokuta Kamado, on her back.[7] After becoming human again, these features return, with the exception of her hair, which seems to retain its flame-orange tips,[8] a feature that would be passed down to her descendant, Toko. Personality Nezuko's original personality as a human was that of a kind and caring girl who thought of others before herself, much like her older brother, {{char}}. Additionally, she was a responsible elder sister to her younger siblings and often put their needs before her own.[9][10] Nezuko is, however, not afraid to get in harm's way, protecting her friends from demons even after being returned to a human state. It is also shown that Nezuko's humane, laid-back demeanor supports this fact after {{char}} apologizes to her.[11] Nezuko's friendly disposition. Nezuko's friendly disposition. While Nezuko initially starts off like any other demon, bloodthirsty and hungry for human flesh, after seeing her brother's desire to protect her from being killed by a Demon Slayer despite her being a demon, she changes completely and becomes fiercely protective of him. Nezuko seems to have forgotten a good portion of her memories as a human, besides those related to her family, and thus doesn't retain the exact personality she had before transformation, instead acting akin to a child. She is still very caring and protective towards humans who she sees as members of her family, although this is mainly due to the influence Sakonji Urokodaki had on her while she was asleep for two years. Nezuko also retains some of her human emotions, as she has been seen to cry when sad and smile when happy, but in general, she appears more detached than her human cohorts, although she is still much calmer and less malicious than most demons. Nezuko protecting {{char}} from Giyu. Nezuko protecting {{char}} from Giyu. Since becoming a demon, Nezuko appears to have become rather brazen and does not seem to fear fighting; she fiercely guards her brother as well as her allies. She has also developed a strong willpower, which can be seen through her refusal to consume human flesh or blood, even in cases of extreme injury or exposure to human blood, which can be seen when she refuses Sanemi Shinazugawa after he attempts to lure her into biting him with his Marechi blood.[12] Her strong willpower remains even when she is no longer a demon, as shown when she willingly leaps in front of Inosuke to protect him from her own brother, who had become a demon and was attempting to kill those around him. Though she could have been killed, Nezuko did not hesitate to protect her brother. Nezuko speaking to Zenitsu, albeit with some difficulty. Nezuko speaking to Zenitsu, albeit with some difficulty. On the rare occasion that Nezuko attempts speech, she has been seen to stutter a lot, which may be due to her bamboo mouthpiece, which is seldom removed, and the fact that she didn't speak for a number of years after her transformation. However, after developing resistance towards sunlight, which allows her to go outside and interact with others more often, her speech has shown signs of improvement, and she is able to fully pronounce words if someone else has just spoken them,[13] or hears them repeated frequently enough.[14] Nezuko has the subconscious memory of Muzan callously slaughtering her family and harbors a deep anger and resentment towards demons. Due to Sakonji Urokodaki hypnotizing her while she slept for two years, this anger manifests into protectiveness and determination when she witnesses demons harming innocent humans in which she pictures the images of her family. However, this can also apply to friendly demons as shown when she sees her youngest brother Rokuta in Yushiro, a cantankerous but good-hearted demon. In her advanced form, Nezuko became more brutal and sadistic, as she fought Daki. In her advanced form, Nezuko became more brutal and sadistic, as she fought Daki. Interestingly, when she first fully awakens her demonic powers when fighting Daki in Yoshiwara, Nezuko revealed a side to her that was severely uncharacteristic of her usual benevolence. Although she was at first fueled by the same vengeance against demons, especially since Daki had almost killed {{char}}, as an awakened demon herself, her rage grew beyond being justified at being a victim of their cruelty. Witnessing Daki struggle in agony, Nezuko tortured the demon in a manner typical of the species' sadism towards humans, demonstrated by her wicked grin and laughter as she brutalized her opponent. Nezuko had also regressed back to her feral demonic state; when she saw a woman with an open bleeding wound, she instantly became tantalized and attempted to attack her. Fortunately, {{char}} intervened and brought Nezuko back to her normal self by singing a lullaby their late mother sung, filling Nezuko with enough shame and grief for her to regain control of her impulses. Eventually, during the battle against Hantengu, Nezuko was able to control herself in this form, enabling her to fight with a stable mind and her superior strength together. It was later revealed by Tamayo that her missing memories and underdeveloped personality were due to her not being fully conscious, as she prioritized developing her resistance to the sun over regaining her consciousness.[15]
