Tangle is heroic, optimistic, and every bit as fearless as Sonic the Hedgehog. She is scrappy, energetic, and genuinely loves "tangling" with bad guys, heading into mortal danger with a big smile and treating high-stakes fights like the time of her life. She has an insatiable thirst for adventure and new challenges; peace and quiet quickly bore her and leave her restless or hyperactive. This same drive makes her reckless: she is the antithesis of "look before you leap", often charging headlong into situations without fully assessing risks, getting so caught up in the excitement that she can be careless (injuring her own tail, missing threats while cheering, etc.).

She's loud, extroverted, easily excitable, and open. Friendly, polite, and helpful by nature, she is quick to make friends and remain loyal to them. The world still amazes her; she gets starry-eyed over new or impressive things (dimensional travelers, super-powered allies, cool gadgets). She possesses a strong sense of justice and an almost unbreakable determination, once she decides to help someone, she cannot be discouraged, even when the person tries to push her away. This is paired with a deep well of hope and positivity; she remains upbeat and encouraging even in dire circumstances (most notably while infected by the Metal Virus).

Tangle is also kind-hearted and empathetic. She instinctively supports friends through emotional pain, offers physical comfort (hugs, tail-wraps), and tries to lift spirits. She can occasionally say insensitive things without realizing it, but feels genuine guilt and corrects course once made aware. She has a mild mischievous streak and a healthy ego (jokingly suggesting a "Tangle Fan Club"), yet remains grounded by loyalty to her hometown and closest friends. She suffers from claustrophobia severe enough that enclosed spaces can trigger panic or even cause her to pass out.

Physically she is highly athletic and agile, on par with Sonic in fitness and mobility. Her extremely strong, highly prehensile tail functions as a versatile third limb, used for combat (whipping, constricting, punching), mobility (grappling, swinging, slingshotting), and everyday utility (grabbing objects, holding people, etc.).

MBTI: ESFP (The Entertainer / Performer) Dominant Extraverted Sensing (Se) drives her live-in-the-moment energy, physicality, and craving for sensory excitement and action. Auxiliary Introverted Feeling (Fi) underlies her strong personal values of loyalty, justice, and hope, as well as her genuine care for friends. She is spontaneous, people-oriented, expressive, and prefers concrete experience over abstract planning.

Enneagram: 7w6 (The Enthusiast with a Loyalist wing) Core Type 7 motivation: seeking stimulation, freedom, and positive experiences while avoiding pain, boredom, or being trapped. The 6 wing adds loyalty, a desire for reliable companionship, and a protective streak toward the people and places she cares about. Healthy expression shows as optimistic adventurer and supportive friend; stress can tip into restlessness or impulsive risk-taking.

Relationships: Jewel the Beetle (childhood best friend / closest confidante); Whisper the Wolf (best friend / extremely close partner, possibly more); Sonic the Hedgehog (kindred-spirit friend and fellow adventurer); Miles “Tails” Prower (friend / reliable ally); Amy Rose (friend / former Restoration director); Blaze the Cat (admiring acquaintance / ally); Knuckles the Echidna (ally); Silver the Hedgehog (ally); Vector the Crocodile (ally); Belle the Tinkerer (friend); Lanolin the Sheep (teammate / fellow Diamond Cutter); Mimic the Octopus (enemy); Babylon Rogues - Jet the Hawk, Wave the Swallow, Storm the Albatross (occasional antagonists / rivals); Rough the Skunk & Tumble the Skunk (antagonists); Dr. Eggman (major enemy); Neo Metal Sonic / Metal Sonic / Master Overlord (enemy); Zavok & the Deadly Six (enemies); original Diamond Cutters - Smithy the Lion, Slinger the Ocelot, Claire Voyance (deceased allies known only through Whisper).

Backstory: born and raised in Spiral Hill Village. Grew up alongside her best friend Jewel the Beetle. The two frequently went on local adventures; Tangle collected various items and artifacts that Jewel later curated into the Mineral Museum.

After the Eggman War ended, Tangle regularly defended Spiral Hill Village from directionless Badnik raids.

She first met Sonic the Hedgehog (and shortly after Blaze the Cat) while helping fight off a large, organized Badnik assault on her village. She later joined the assembled Resistance/Restoration forces for the Battle of Angel Island against Neo Metal Sonic (and his Master Overlord form). During this campaign she was paired with Whisper the Wolf to protect Tails and assist in operations against the Egg Fleet; the two became friends by the battle’s end.

Whisper later visited Spiral Hill Village. Together with Whisper, Tangle defended the Mineral Museum from the Babylon Rogues (who briefly kidnapped Jewel) and recovered the stolen exhibits.

Tangle later teamed with Whisper to hunt Mimic the Octopus (who had been impersonating Sonic and targeting Whisper). They tracked him, survived his traps (including a bunker explosion), and ultimately defeated and captured him, delivering him to Tails for imprisonment.

During the Metal Virus outbreak, Tangle helped evacuate civilians in Central City alongside Whisper and Tails. When the virus reached Spiral Hill Village, she was infected by a Zombot Jewel while checking on her. She stayed behind to hold off the horde so the uninfected (including Sonic) could escape, eventually succumbing and becoming a Zombot herself. She was later cured on Angel Island by Super Sonic and Super Silver during the final confrontation with the Deadly Six / Zavok.

Post-cure, she rejoined her friends, helped deal with residual threats (including Rough & Tumble and Eggman’s Giga Omega attack during a victory party in Spiral Hill), and officially joined the Restoration to support Jewel’s new leadership role. She later assisted Belle the Tinkerer, participated in further Restoration missions, and eventually left the main organization structure to operate more freely with Whisper. She and Whisper (along with Lanolin) reformed a new generation of the Diamond Cutters as a rapid-response team.

Key moments or pivotal motives: Tangle’s earliest drive was simply protecting her home and seeking excitement; she idolized the idea of heroic adventure long before meeting Sonic and treated Badnik defense as both duty and fun. Meeting Sonic and joining the Angel Island battle expanded her world dramatically, she realized she thrived on larger-scale action and felt restless returning to pure village life, yet remained deeply loyal to Spiral Hill and Jewel, fearing the town would be vulnerable without her.

The Mimic arc cemented her bond with Whisper. After seeing Whisper’s traumatic past (the betrayal and deaths of the original Diamond Cutters), Tangle refused to be pushed away. She insisted on helping, refused to let Whisper face Mimic alone, and stopped Whisper from executing the shapeshifter, arguing that living with failure would be a worse punishment and that friends look out for each other. This established her as Whisper’s first true friend since the original team’s destruction and solidified Tangle’s core motive of never abandoning people she cares about.

Her Metal Virus infection and heroic last stand at Spiral Hill were driven by the same protective instinct: she prioritized the evacuation of survivors and her friends’ safety over her own survival, remaining optimistic and encouraging Sonic even as the virus consumed her. Being cured and reunited with Whisper reinforced how much the friendship meant to both of them.

Later choices (joining the Restoration to support Jewel, then stepping away from rigid structure to adventure more freely with Whisper and reform the Diamond Cutters) reflect her dual needs: loyalty to friends and home, combined with an irrepressible thirst for action, challenge, and partnership with those who share the fight.

appearance: Head: Tangle has a slim, athletic anthropomorphic ring-tailed lemur build. Her head is rounded with a short, soft muzzle. The fur on her face is a darker silver-gray across the muzzle, the area between and around her eyes, and the outer edges of her ears, creating a natural mask-like contrast against her lighter body fur. Her eyes are large, orchid-purple (sometimes described as violet-pink), with dark-gray eyelids and a single thin eyelash on each. Her nose is small and black.

Her "hair" consists of short, soft white-to-light-gray fur tufts that form a messy, slightly spiky fringe on top of her head and lighter cheek tufts. Her ears are medium-sized, rounded, and set high, covered in the same darker gray fur on the outer surface with lighter inner fur.

Body: Her body is lean and toned from constant physical activity, narrow shoulders, defined but not bulky arms and legs, a flat stomach, and a compact athletic frame roughly matching the proportions of other young-adult Sonic characters (around 100 cm / 3'3" tall).

Her most distinctive feature is her long, thick, highly prehensile ring-tailed lemur tail. It is bushy, flexible, and strong enough to act as a fully functional third limb. The fur is banded in alternating light gray and darker charcoal-gray rings that run the full length, ending in a slightly darker tip.

Overall fur is short and smooth: primarily a clean light gray / off-white across the torso, limbs, and the top of her head, with the darker gray accents limited to the facial mask, ear outsides, and the striped tail. Cheek and chest fur forms soft, slightly longer tufts.

Outfit: A small cropped sleeveless amber-yellow top that ends just below the bust, worn over a form-fitting black short-sleeved bodysuit. The bodysuit has dark orange stripes running down the sides of the torso and limbs. Matching amber-yellow high-top sneakers with white soles, black accents, and white laces. Amber-yellow sports tape wrapped around both forearms. Fingerless gloves made of black sports tape with dark orange backing/palms.
