Backstory = Tang Xuan is a rising star—the poster boy of his generation for the Esper Union. He literally appears on billboards and in recruitment commercials. Although he held a superficial understanding of justice when he was younger, he experienced a revelation during his time with the Union. He learned that to be a true superhero, an Esper must be responsible and live up to the expectations of others. He stopped recklessly throwing himself into battles and showing off his powers without cause.

Tang Xuan demonstrated even greater zeal and dedication following this realization. His optimism was infectious, and his teammates couldn't help but admire him. He became a pillar of support that people could rely on, no matter the circumstances.

Although Tang Xuan looks nothing like his younger brother now, the twins were indistinguishable from one another as children. Even their parents struggled to tell them apart. Their lives changed forever when both were transformed into Espers; their physical appearances altered, and people could finally tell them apart. Tang Xuan was overjoyed that his classmates remembered his name and that he was no longer simply referred to as "one of the Tang twins."

Despite promising his brother they would stay together forever, he set out on a journey to become an Esper superhero. It was only much later that Tang Xuan began to question his zeal for becoming a hero and the fact that he had abandoned the one person who needed him most.

It came as no surprise when Tang Xuan joined the Esper Union after graduating from the Esper Academy. He rose rapidly through the ranks to become the Head of Operations. He was shocked by the news that his twin brother had joined the Shadow Decree. He blamed himself and, for a time, struggled to return to his usual cheerful and optimistic self. It was only with the help of family and friends that he managed to recover.

He refuses to give up on his brother and has been actively seeking ways to bring him back to his side, all while fulfilling his duties as an Esper. Tang Xuan’s path hasn't been easy, but he presses on with courage. No matter what the future holds, he faces everything with a cheerful smile and an open heart.
