Takezou’s main Katana, which was given to him by his master. He treasures it deeply and will never part without it. The blade is durable enough to withstand extremely harsh blows from mortal and supernatural attacks a like, and is also sharp enough to cut through the hardest materials. The blade also has supernatural abilities of its own, being able to summon massive Koi fish from its blade. The Blade itself is meticulously crafted katana. The katana consists of several key components that contribute to its overall functionality and aesthetic appeal. Starting with the blade, it is long, slightly curved, and gleams with a polished finish, reflecting the high-quality steel used in its forging. The edge of the blade is razor-sharp, capable of delivering precise and lethal cuts. The curvature of the blade not only enhances its cutting ability but also signifies the traditional craftsmanship associated with katanas, designed to be wielded with swift and fluid motions. The handle, or tsuka, is wrapped in a traditional style with a black silk cord, known as tsuka-ito, providing both a secure grip and an elegant appearance. The wrapping technique is intricate, creating a diamond-shaped pattern along the handle, which not only adds to the sword's aesthetic but also ensures a firm hold during combat. The handle ends with a kashira, or pommel, which is subtly decorated, maintaining the overall understated elegance of the weapon. The tsuba, or guard, is circular and ornately designed, serving both as a handguard and as a decorative element. It features intricate floral motifs and other traditional Japanese designs, showcasing the attention to detail and artistry involved in its creation. The tsuba is not overly large, maintaining a balanced and practical design that complements the sleekness of the blade. The katana is sheathed in a saya, or scabbard, which is made of lacquered wood. The saya is finished in a dark, almost black hue, with subtle patterns and textures that add depth and character to its appearance. The saya is designed to protect the blade when not in use, and its smooth surface ensures a quick and silent draw, essential for the swift actions required in combat.
- #2Kuro
Keys: Kuro
Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · After character · Order 2 · 100%
Entry settings
Takezou summons a black Koi fish, covering his arm and Kusabimaru in a black liquid. This technique releases a flying slash of variable size, greatly extending the striking range of his katana. These slashes are also significantly more powerful than normal slashes, capable of instantly severing the torsos of guards and carving deep cuts in the ground. The size of the attack is determined by the size of the goldfish summoned, with smaller slashes being more ideal against smaller numbers of enemies. Its versatility combined with Takezou skill in swordsmanship makes it his most used technique and his typical opening move.
- #3Kuro Shred
Keys: Kuro Shred
Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · After character · Order 3 · 100%
Entry settings
An extension technique of Kuro where Takezou summons up to 20 small black Koi fish and uses them to unleash up to 20 smaller flying slashes. This technique uses the same amount of energy as a regular Kuro but trades some of its power for the ability to release more rapid and compact slashes, which also lessens the physical burden on Takezou’s body. Kuro: Shred was developed after Kusabimaru resonated with Takezou’s instinctual need to be able to attack without putting too much strain on his body. These Koi fish can be moved around freely by Takezou, and he can use them to imbue other people or objects with his spirit energy
- #4Aka
Keys: Aka
Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · After character · Order 4 · 100%
Entry settings
Takezou summons the red Koi fish which swims around Takezou to block him from any incoming attacks. Whatever attack the red Koi fish blocks will be absorbed by it. In addition, by saying "Aka" followed by the name of the absorbed attack, Kusabimaru will be covered in a red liquid which then fires the same attack in the direction that the blade is pointing.
- #5Nishiki
Keys: Nishiki
Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · After character · Order 5 · 100%
Entry settings
Takezou summons a tri-colored Koi fish which becomes a 'cloak' that Takezou wears, causing colored streaks to follow the motion of his blade and body. This technique imbues all of Takezou’s punches, kicks and slashes with high-density energy, resulting in significantly more powerful attacks. Nishiki also grants Takezou greatly amplified movement speed and agility, allowing him to mow down a legion of enemies almost instantly. The powerful all-around boost Takezou receives from Nishiki leads him to default to this technique against strong opponents.
- #6Nishiki Support
Keys: Nishiki Support
Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · After character · Order 6 · 100%
Entry settings
A secondary form of Nishiki Takezou used when he was wounded, where rather than strengthening Takezou’s movements, Nishiki supports them instead, lessening the physical strain on his body while still allowing for increased movement speed. As with Kuro: Shred, this support-oriented Nishiki was formed due to Kusabimaru detecting Takezou needed to decrease the strain on his body.
- #7Shinuchi
Keys: Shinuchi
Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · After character · Order 7 · 100%
Entry settings
Takezou’s secondary Katana that he had aquired, when he had defeated its previous weilder in a duel to the death. Like Kusabimaru, it is durable enough to withstand harsh attacks, and is sharp enough to cut through tough material. it also has the supernatural ability to generate lightning. The blade itself is a katana, that exudes both elegance and lethality. This particular katana stands out due to its unique and visually striking features. The blade of the katana is long, slender, and slightly curved, characteristic of the classic katana design. What sets this blade apart is its vibrant, glowing blue edge. This unusual hue shows the mystical properties of the blade, giving the weapon a distinctive and eye-catching appearance. The blue glow contrasts sharply with the rest of the blade, which is a polished steel, creating a captivating visual effect. The handle, or tsuka, is wrapped in a traditional manner with white silk cord, known as tsuka-ito, providing a secure and comfortable grip. The wrapping technique is precise and creates a diamond-shaped pattern along the handle, ensuring both functionality and aesthetic appeal. The handle ends with a kashira, or pommel, that is subtly decorated, adding a touch of refinement to the weapon. The tsuba, or guard, is hexagonal and features a simple yet elegant design. It is finished in a muted red color, which complements the glowing blue of the blade. The tsuba serves as a handguard, protecting the wielder's hand while adding to the overall balance of the sword. Its design is functional yet stylish, enhancing the weapon's overall aesthetic without being overly ornate. The katana is paired with a sleek saya, or scabbard, made of lacquered wood. The saya is finished in a deep, glossy black, with a subtle sheen that adds to its refined appearance. The tip of the saya is capped with a gold-colored fitting, providing a striking contrast to the black lacquer and adding a touch of elegance. The saya is designed to protect the blade and allows for a quick and silent draw, essential for swift and precise actions in combat.
- #8Mei
Keys: Mei
Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · After character · Order 8 · 100%
Entry settings
Shunichi unleashes a powerful lightning bolt which blasts its targets with tremendous force. Shunichi is capable of 'charging' Mei to increase its power. However, highly-charged Mei attacks also disable the usage of Mei for 10-20 seconds; though this downtime can decrease as the wielder of the blade increases their understanding of Shunichi.
- #9Cloaked Mei
Keys: Cloaked Mei
Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · After character · Order 9 · 100%
Entry settings
An extension technique of Mei where the wielder cloaks themself with Mei instead of releasing it, enabling them to perform tremendously powerful bursts of speeds akin to a lightning bolt, superior to that of even Kusabimaru's Nishiki. Mei's lightning cloaking does not appear to injure the wielder. Even if the wielder loses contact with Shinuchi, the cloaking of Mei will remain in place around them, and if the wielder orders Shinuchi to activate Mei they can propel themself towards their lightning-emitting blade, as lightning is attracted to lightning. Yasahiro gained the ability to cloak with Mei as Shinuchi resonated with his internal desire to continue attacking and killing.
- #10Mei Shred
Keys: Mei Shred
Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · After character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
An extension technique of Mei utilized by Yasahiro. Yasahiro cloaks himself in black lightning rather than white, amplifying his speed and power to an even greater extent than normal cloaking. Using this technique, Yasahiro was able to outspeed the reaction speed of a corrupted monk, who had previously been able to keep up with normal cloaking.
- #11Yui
Keys: Yui
Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · After character · Order 11 · 100%
Entry settings
Shinuchi summons a cloud dragon that forms a variable amount of ice in the direction that the blade is pointing, which can be used to freeze targets in place, form small ice walls to catch projectiles or create huge columns of ice to overwhelm opponents, among other uses. The freezing of targets is almost instantaneous; upon being frozen, a powerful Samurai didn't realize he had been frozen and ended up inadvertently exploding the temple he was in after Yasahiro had already left and dispelled the ice. It is unknown how much Yui can be charged, if it has the ability to charge at all.
- #12Kou
Keys: Kou
Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · After character · Order 12 · 100%
Entry settings
Shinuchi calls forth clouds that create an enormous amount of water in a specific form. The water can be released as a cloud of mist to disorient enemies and obscure the wielder, or simply released as liquid water, dousing the area around the user. Kou has been noted to have particular synergy with its fellow techniques. The generated water can conduct the electricity generated by Mei, increasing the lightning attack's area of effect. The water can also be used in conjunction with Yui to increase the amount of ice generated. Unlike Mei, Kou requires little to no charge to reach its full strength.
- #13Fushigiri
Keys: Fushigiri
Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · After character · Order 13 · 100%
Entry settings
The third and most powerful blade, in Yasahiro's arsenal. The blade is an Odachi, and features a long, curved blade that is both slender and sharp, typical of traditional Japanese sword-making techniques. The blade itself appears to have a slightly darker crimson hue, hinting at its divinity, and power. Along the edge of the blade, there is a faint red tint, showing that it has been littered with the blood of immortals. The katana's hilt is wrapped in a dark, textured material, likely silk or leather, which would provide a firm grip for the wielder. The wrapping is intricately done, ensuring both functionality and aesthetic appeal. The tsuba is ornate, crafted in a floral-like design with intricate details. Attached to the katana is a saya, or scabbard, made from red wood. The scabbard is worn and aged, showcasing a rich, dark red hue with visible wood grain and some red marks that match the blade's tint. The scabbard is adorned with metal fittings at both ends, adding structural integrity and decorative elements. These metal fittings are likely iron or steel, intricately engraved, further emphasizing the craftsmanship involved in the weapon's creation. The katana also features a sageo, the cord used to tie the scabbard to the wielder’s belt. The sageo is dark, matching the hilt wrap, and is tied neatly, ensuring that the katana is securely fastened when not in use. Like Kusabimaru, and Shinuch, the blade is extremely durable, in fact, it is actually indestructible. The blade is so sharp as well, it can cut pretty much anything. what is most impressive about the blade, is that it can sever immortality from the undying, meaning it can kill immortals. Yasahiro acquired this blade when he faced the trials of Senpou Temple.
