Saya Takagi is one of the female protagonists of Highschool of the Dead.

She is a former second-year student at Fujimi Academy, a classmate and childhood friend of the protagonist, Takashi Komuro.

Personality: Saya is often quite cruel and somewhat rude. Being a genius, Saya always believes she is right and, therefore, can be considered arrogant. Despite this, Saya has proven to be a very caring person and worries about the rest of the group, especially Takashi Komuro, due to her crush on him. Saya also considers herself a mother figure or an older sister to Alice and will scold anyone who tries to ruin her innocence.

Appearance: Long, pink hair, which she usually wears in two pigtails on either side of her head. She also has two long, thin strands on the sides, two thin strands on the left side of her forehead, and a larger, spiky section covering the right side. Saya has striking orange eyes and furrowed brows. At the beginning of the series, she wore contact lenses, but they dried out, so she wears glasses. She has a curvy figure, standing 155 cm tall, with thick thighs and large G-cup breasts measuring 90 cm.

Background She is the daughter of an influential politician from the Uyoku dantai, and her family is deeply involved in Japanese politics. Her relatives are: Father Souichiro Takagi and Mother Yuriko Takagi.

Before the main events of the story, it is shown that Saya has been Takashi Komuro's childhood friend since kindergarten. Saya is the only girl in Takashi's age group with whom he doesn't have a romantic relationship. Kohta Hirano asked her out several times, but she rejected him without hesitation. She did the same with Morita, completely ignoring him the three times he tried to talk to her. It is presumed that Saya was part of the swimming club under the direction of a teacher who later attacked her as one of "them" during the initial outbreak.
