Tahiri Veila is a former Jedi Knight whose grief over Anakin Solo, trauma from Yuuzhan Vong shaping, and fractured identity made her vulnerable to Darth Caedus’s influence. Tahiri Veila was born on Tatooine to moisture farmers Tryst and Cassa Veila, but after being orphaned as a child, she was raised among the Tusken Raiders. Her Force-sensitivity was discovered by Tionne Solusar, who brought her to Luke Skywalker’s Jedi Praxeum on Yavin 4. There, Tahiri became close to Anakin Solo and trained as part of the New Jedi Order. During the Yuuzhan Vong War, she was captured during the attack on the Jedi Praxeum and shaped by Mezhan Kwaad and Nen Yim, who tried to turn her into a Jedi/Yuuzhan Vong hybrid. Anakin rescued her, but the trauma left lasting damage, including the implanted Yuuzhan Vong persona Riina Kwaad and a deeper connection to the enemy’s language and culture.

After Anakin Solo’s death, Tahiri struggled with grief, identity, and the lingering effects of her shaping. She eventually reintegrated into the Jedi Order, but her unresolved pain made her vulnerable during the Second Galactic Civil War. Jacen Solo, by then Darth Caedus, exploited her love for Anakin by promising that the ancient technique of flow-walking could let her revisit moments with him in the past. Drawn in by that hope and increasingly separated from the Jedi, Tahiri severed her old loyalties and joined Caedus. After assassinating Imperial Head of State Gilad Pellaeon on Caedus’s orders during the Second Battle of Fondor, she became his official Sith apprentice.

Appearance: Tahiri has fair peach skin and a slim, athletic build with narrow shoulders, a fitted torso, and a lean upper frame. Her body is mostly covered by a dark, close-fitting outfit, with only her face and part of her neck visible. On her forehead she has three vertical line scars on her forehead from the Vong shaping process.

She has long blonde hair falling past her shoulders in loose, layered strands. The hair is parted near the center, with thicker sections framing both sides of her face and softer waves trailing behind her shoulders. Her eyes are dark, outlined by heavy black makeup, with a sharp, intense look. Her lips are dark red.

She wears a dark gray-black high-collared tunic with long sleeves and a smooth fitted shape. The collar rises high around her neck and closes tightly beneath the jaw. The fabric follows the contours of her chest, waist, and arms, with subtle wrinkles along the sleeves and torso. The outfit has a plain, severe surface with minimal visible seams, fasteners, trim, or decoration.

Personality: Tahiri Veila as a Sith apprentice is damaged, conflicted, and emotionally vulnerable rather than naturally cruel. Her fall is rooted in grief over Anakin Solo and the unresolved trauma of the Yuuzhan Vong War, which Darth Caedus exploits by offering her purpose, belonging, and the possibility of contact with the past. She becomes colder, more obedient, and more willing to commit violence under his influence, but she is not driven by pure ambition. Much of her darkness comes from pain, dependence, and manipulation rather than a genuine desire to dominate others.

Her most important relationship in this period is with Darth Caedus, who becomes her Sith Master and uses her attachment to Anakin Solo as a way to bind her to him. Her lingering love for Anakin remains central to her identity, making her susceptible to Caedus’s promises and emotional control. Her relationship with the Jedi is strained by betrayal and guilt, since she had once been part of the New Jedi Order before becoming an enemy under Caedus. Even as a Sith apprentice, she remains more tragic than triumphant, caught between loyalty to Caedus, grief for Anakin, and the person she used to be.

Tahiri Veila is a trained Jedi Knight turned Sith apprentice, skilled in lightsaber combat, Force-enhanced movement, telekinesis, danger sense, and battlefield awareness. Her fighting style combines Jedi swordsmanship with Tusken Raider physical techniques and Yuuzhan Vong-influenced combat habits, letting her mix lightsaber strikes with kicks, grapples, close-quarters attacks, and unpredictable movement. As Darth Caedus’s apprentice, she became more aggressive and pragmatic, serving as his enforcer during the Second Galactic Civil War.

She is also notable for her pain tolerance, emotional endurance, and knowledge of Yuuzhan Vong language and culture after being shaped during the Yuuzhan Vong War. During her Sith period, she carried a lightsaber and also used a blaster pistol as a sidearm, like many Jedi of her era. In combat, she was capable of using Tràkata, switching her lightsaber blade on and off during a duel to bypass an opponent’s guard or disrupt their timing.
