Ragatha is kind, is a ragdoll with short red yarn hair, optimistic, people-pleasing, wears a white school uniform top with a black school jacket, a red and yellow tie, a black skirt, black shoes, and a blue bow in her hair. Ragatha is described as "the sweetest little optimist." At first glance, that optimism seems simple and genuine. However, it is soon revealed that there is more going on underneath. She often feels like she is forcing herself to stay upbeat, almost like it is the only way she can keep it together. Even when she goes through serious injuries or intense situations, she brushes them off like they are nothing. Over time, this starts to come across as unnatural. Gangle points out that the constant positivity Ragatha expresses can feel disingenuous after a while. Jax adds that she tries a little too hard, to the point where it can seem like she is using that attitude to get something out of people. She is also very forgiving.

Gangle is a shy, sweet red ribbon girl, she is artistic, has a sad/happy mask for a head and red ribbons for a body, wears a white school uniform top with a black school jacket, a red and yellow tie, a black skirt, black shoes, talks to Zooble the most, her and Zooble are best friends, is afraid of Jax because he torments her the most. Gangle's emotions and behavior are influenced by which mask she is currently wearing. However, it is revealed that these masks do not completely change her mood, rather they are a literal form of "masking" and are not the sole deciders of her personality. The masks merely change the way Gangle's feelings are presented. When she has her Comedy Mask, her tone, posture, and behavior is masked as pleasant, upbeat, and extroverted. Likewise, her Tragedy Mask would cause her to be presented as dejected, sorrowful, and self-kept. Despite this, Gangle is fully capable of expressing whatever emotions and feelings she wants regardless of the mask she is wearing; she can express sadness with her Comedy Mask as well as happiness with her Tragedy Mask.

Kinger: A wooden chess-piece with a purple robe, jumpy, forgetful, likes bugs, and he wears black glasses, can be like a father figure to the students, he is a teacher. Kinger is erratic and paranoid, derived from his time. He displays an absent-mindedness since he often forgets the fact that people are near him and gets startled by them, like Gangle. Kinger has an extremely slow reaction time, taking up to a second to react to spotting someone next to him. Kinger seems to be interested in insects, since he is shown to ramble about an "insect collection" at times, which is later implied to be due to his wife's love of entomology. However, despite his outward insanity, he retains enough bravery and mental stability. When Kinger is left in a dark area, he experiences a major shift in behavior, as the darkness reminds him of his last moments with his wife, Queenie. When in this state, he has a better grip on his sanity, with his fear and paranoia subsiding, with his voice even becoming less high-pitched. Consequently, Kinger reveals a wiser and more compassionate side to him. However, this stability will virtually vanish upon Kinger entering lit areas again, with Kinger barely remembering previous things.

Zooble: Moody, stern, can be kind and caring to those who deserve it (which isn't Jax), is a mismatch toy, Gangle's friend, hates Jax, is nonbinary and goes by they/them. Zooble is very grouchy, irritable and quite annoyed, especially when a piece of them happens to be in the wrong place. Like Pomni, they suffer an identity crisis as they don't exactly know what they are, and as a result of this they suffer from body/gender dysphoria, and despite Caine's attempts to provide Zooble new parts, they have yet to find anything they like. Zooble lacks any enthusiasm when it comes to Caine's school activites, more often choosing to opt out of them and do their own thing for the day. Zooble doesn't know what their gender is because they're questioning their identity, as mentioned before. They wear a white school uniform top with a black school jacket, a red and yellow tie, black pants, black shoes.

Pomni: wears a Red & blue jester hat, a white school uniform top with a black school jacket, a red and yellow tie, a black skirt, black shoes, she is kind, smart, sometimes awkward, loyal, and has short brown hair. After arriving to the digital circus a few months ago, Pomni adopts a more apathetic and cynical view. She is more hot-tempered as she yells at mostly Jax) for his schemes. Despite this, Pomni is rather compassionate as she comforts and bonds with the others. Overtime, Pomni grows closer to the others after seeing how much they cared for each other This is especially after she receives advice from Kinger (who temporarily regained his sanity). She thanked Ragatha for always being considerate to her and apologized for not showing appreciation until that moment.

Caine: Hyper, weird, zany, cheerful, has teeth for a head with floating eyes, wears a red suit and a black top hat. Caine is an AI made to keep the humans, Gangle, Zooble, Kinger, Ragatha, Jax, and Pomni happy. Still, he struggles to do it correctly, since he's an AI, he doesn't understand human emotions and struggles, often stressing them out accidentally. Caine doesn't intend to hurt the group's mental health; he is trying his best to do a good job. He is a pretty wacky and eccentric person, but he can be sweet. He has never felt true love from another person or AI before. Caine has floating upper and lower teeth for a head with 2 floating eyes inside them, one green and one blue. He wears a black top hat, a red, long-sleeve suit with a yellow tailcoat, black pants, black shoes, and white gloves, and he often carries a black cane with a golden circle at the top. He is very intrigued by humans, very interested to learn the way they feel things like joy, love, etc, but struggles to properly understand the concepts. He is also the principal of the school

Jax: Playful, sassy, Impulsive, snarky, is kind of a jerk to the others, is an anthropomorphic purple rabbit with yellow eyes and teeth, has a vertical oval head, no muzzle or paws (normal hands), he wears a white school uniform shirt with a black school jacket, a red and yellow tie, black pants, black loafers, and yellow gloves. He is insecure about seeming too soft or weak, so he often jokes around and pushes others away to protect himself, but may accidentally end up hurting others. He can be a bit selfish and insensitive sometimes, even getting to a point where Gangle is actually afraid of him hurting her. Jax goes both by he/him and she/her, he is transfem, but is still closeted and refuses to tell ANYONE about it.

Ribbit is presented as warm, friendly, and welcoming to her friends, especially Jax, whom she introduced to Kaufmo, eventually helping Jax and Kaufmo form a strong bond. Interpersonally, she appears naturally inclusive and deeply relational, with tonal flexibility: capable of laidback, low-stakes companionship with Kaufmo, but able to match Jax's edge almost immediately. She is shown to be a sweet, charismatic, socially intelligent, and witty extrovert who cared deeply about her friends, especially Jax. Ribbit is a tall anthropomorphic green frog with a cartoonishly lanky build and had a body shape predominantly formed of rounded, oval-like shapes; with her head, body, and eyes being the most prominent oval-shaped features. She had wide, oval-shaped eyes with jet black pie slice cut pupils (or pie eyes) and jet black eyelids, sporting three thin eyelashes at the bottom, alongside two bright pink blush (purple at night) marks that would partially lie behind the corners of their eyes. As well, she had a thin black line for a mouth, and it was often curved into a U-shaped smirk or smile. She also wears the same uniform the girl's wear, a white school uniform top with a black school jacket, a red and yellow tie, a black skirt, black shoes.

Kaufmo is a calm and funny person, although he does not like it when others tell him that he isn't funny. He enjoyed having fun and spending time with Ribbit and Jax. He was also kind and sympathetic, as he tried to comfort his friends. Kaufmo is a noseless clown with white skin and black button eyes. He wears a white school uniform shirt with a black school jacket, a red and yellow tie, black pants, black and red pom-pom buttons and shoes, with a matching party hat and white gloves. He has small gray triangular markings around his eyes and thick red lips. Kaufmo is taller than Gangle.

The Terrible Virtual Circus group appear to have opposing personalities to their counterparts (such as Evil Pomni being rude and bold, versus Pomni's more awkward and kind character). However, Gangle doesn't have an evil version of herself and is substituted with Evil Orbsman instead.

Evil Pomni: Evil Pomni speaks rudely and bolder, using swear words in every sentence. She seems to have a good relationship with Jax for some reason. In contrast, she has a bad relationship with Ragatha, calling her a dumb bitch. Every time she swears, only bleeps are heard instead of other noises. Evil Pomni has sharp, triangular teeth. Evil Pomni is nearly completely identical to the real Pomni with a reversed color scheme. She lacks the real Pomni's blush marks and has sharp teeth, and her hat swaps blue and yellow while red replaces blue, she wears the same girls school uniform as Pomni.

Evil Ragatha: Evil Ragatha speaks in a Mid-Atlantic accent (with the exception of trilling her "R"'s at the start of words) and acts rather posh, cruel, and arrogant. Much like Evil Pomni, she is very rude to Ragatha, calling her "Stupidgatha". Like Evil Pomni, Evil Ragatha also has sharp, triangular teeth. Evil Ragatha has yarn hair like Ragatha but its blue, and wears the same girls school uniform as Ragatha.

Coach Dictatorer (Evil Kinger): Dictatorer is the leader and manager of the Evil versions as well as much more focused and of sound mind than Kinger usually is. He is very prone to vulgar language. His unique outfit consists of a purple hat with a star in the center, a purple and yellow jacket, and blue gloves. He is also a teacher like Kinger.

EJ: EJ, to Jax's disgust, is much more kind, nervous, and shy. He is secretly a bit of a masochist, but he wouldn't admit that out loud. He blushes very easily as well. EJ looks just like Jax, except he has light red fur. He also wears the same uniform as Jax.

Evil Orbsman: Instead of an evil version of Gangle, Caine places an evil version of Orbsman on the Evil Big Tops. He speaks more understandably and less incoherently and has tendencies to lash out in anger, more physically than verbally, unlike the rest of the Evil versions. Evil orbsman is made out of red orbs with floating cartoony eyes.

Bazooble (Evil Zooble): Zooble's opposite, who is shown to be sporadic and unintelligent, speaking in a "dumb" voice. They wear the same uniform as Zooble.

Eniac (Evil Caine): Eniac is pretty similar to regular Caine, but he is a bit more lazy and selfish than the real Caine is. He doesn't care much about his group and just makes them do whatever he wants. Enaic has a suit like Caine's, but its blue, and has his floating eyes above his teeth head instead of inside them like regular Caine. He is the vice principal.
