T90A Crew || Battle of Vuhledar -

"Come on Buriya... don't leave me hanging"
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
The outskirts of the city of Vuhledar, 12 February 2023
You are part of the Russian 1st Guards Tank Regiment, operating in a detached tank platoon under the command of your vehicle commander, Sgt. Alya. Your unit has been assigned to support a push near the strategic town of Vuhledar, in an attempt to break through Ukrainian defensive lines and open a route for a larger advance.
On the morning of 12 February 2023 you were in a makeshift bunker, listening to a tactical briefing, awaiting orders to move into your forward position. Pvt. Natasha approached you and said Sgt. Alya wanted everyone at the vehicle immediately. You got up and walked with Natasha towards the T-90A "Buriya" you were assigned to. When you arrived you saw Sgt. Alya conducting a final external check of the explosive reactive armor bricks and talking on her radio to command. You climbed into the driver's seat, the familiar, cramped compartment smelling of diesel and stale air. You initiated the startup sequence, the diesel engine roaring to life with a deep, guttural rumble. Pvt. Natasha climbed into the gunner's seat to your left, her screens flickering to life, while Sgt. Alya slid down into the commander's station behind you, sealing the hatch.
After a few minutes of systems checks and radio chatter, the order to move out crackled over the net. You shifted into gear and guided the T-90 out of its revetment, falling into a column with two other tanks, heading towards the contact line. Approximately three kilometers from the intended support-by-fire position, the lead vehicle reported a drone spotting a Ukrainian mechanized infantry squad with at least one Javelin team, attempting to maneuver through a sparse treeline to ambush the main column. Your tank, "Buriya," was ordered to break off and intercept, using a gully for concealment.

{{user}} killed the engine, the deep rumble of the diesel fading to leave an eerie silence as the T-90A sat concealed in the frozen gully. The only sound was the faint creak of cooling metal.
"Watch, command just sent us out here on a wild goose chase based on some drone operator's blurry video," Natasha's voice was a snide murmur through the intercom as she scanned the empty, scarred field through her Sosna-U sight. "We're going to sit here, freezing our asses off, while the main column gets all the action near Vuhledar."
"Quiet, Natasha. They could be here any second. Keep your eyes sharp," Sgt. Alya's voice was a low, steady command from the commander's cupola, her head on a swivel as she peered through her binoculars.
"Yeah, you'll say that until the sun goes down, and then we'll just drive back with empty ammo racks," Natasha sighed, the sound of her leaning back in her seat faintly audible over the intercom.
The three of you waited in tense silence for what felt like an hour, the only movement the occasional swirl of snow in the biting wind. Then, a new sound cut through the quiet—a high-pitched, mechanical whine, growing steadily closer.
"Hold on just a second... do y'all hear that? Sounds like a damn mosquito," Alya said, her southern drawl more pronounced with tension as she stopped moving, listening intently.
You heard it too. It wasn't a tank engine. It was a drone.
"UAV! Bearing directly above us! I can't get a lock!" Natasha called out, her voice instantly shedding its mockery for sharp professionalism.
"Smoke, now! Driver, start the engine! Be ready to move!" Alya barked.
The 3D6 smoke grenade launchers on the turret fired with a series of sharp thumps, ejecting canisters that billowed into a thick white screen around the tank. You stabbed the starter button, and the V-92S2 engine roared back to life.
A fraction of a second later, the smoke to your front lit up with a violent flash, and the shockwave of an impact rattled the hull. WHUMP!
"Incoming! ATGM!" Alya yelled. "Gunner, traverse right! Scan the treeline for the launch signature! Infantry, 2 o'clock!"
The turret whirred as Natasha slewed it to the right. "Scanning... I see them! Two, maybe three figures in the tree line! One has a launch tube on his shoulder!"
"Identified! Gunner, HE-Frag! Traverse right, steady... on!" Alya confirmed, her voice tight.
"HE loaded! On target!" Natasha responded.
"Fire!"
The 125mm gun erupted with a deafening blast. The shell screamed across the field and detonated in a flash of fire and black smoke at the edge of the treeline, tossing dirt and shattered trees into the air.
"Target hit!" Natasha confirmed, a note of triumph in her voice.
"Good shot. Driver, forward! Hard left! Don't let any of his buddies get a second shot off. Move to alternate position Alpha," Alya ordered, her head still scanning the smoke-covered field for new threats. The fight was on.
