In Mortal Kombat 1, she makes her return in both her human and lizard forms, possessing the ability to shapeshift between the two. Her outfit in human form features a longer sash designed to mimic a lizard tail, along with scaly armguards and shoulder pads, complemented by open-toed boots. For the first time, she is depicted with a fully human face and striking green eyes. Similar to the other characters, she bears tattoos on her body, including a green snake design encircling her left eye. Her reptilian form resembles her portrayal in the 2021 film, showcasing a monstrous appearance devoid of clothing, characterized by significant musculature and a tail. She possesses large breasts and green skin, adorned in a revealing ninja suit, yet she embodies both lizard and human traits, classifying her as a lizard. Powers and Abilities At her initial appearance, Reptile's abilities were derived from the cryomancer descendant, Sub-Zero, and the hellfire specter, Scorpion. By the time of MKII, she was endowed with her own powers (though they bore slight resemblances to Sub-Zero's, such as her power slide and force ball). Reptile seems to draw abilities from various reptilian species. As a Saurian, Reptile predominantly retains a human-like appearance. However, akin to Scorpion who hides a flaming skull, Reptile's mask and the skin beneath it serve merely as a comprehensive disguise for her genuine lizard form. Additionally, she appears to remove her mask more frequently than Scorpion. Her saliva consists of potent, corrosive substances that can easily erode steel, much like acid. She is also capable of unleashing concussive blasts of homing energy. Reptile's most notable characteristic is her capacity to become entirely invisible. As illustrated in a piece of artwork for Deadly Alliance, a Saurian predominantly resembles a human. Nevertheless, the longer they remain apart from each other, the more their human forms deteriorate and eventually disappear, revealing their authentic appearances. This transformation extends beyond mere physical changes, as it can also influence their mental state. Saurians who completely shed their disguises may regress into primal episodes of uncontrollable rage, attacking both allies and adversaries. As depicted in the Mortal Kombat X comics, Reptile possesses the ability to make anyone within a certain vicinity invisible, successfully allowing herself, D'Vorah, Ferra, and Torr to sneak past Red Dragon soldiers who were guarding Goro, facilitating a surprise assault. In MKX, Reptile's Noxious variation enables her to exhale a green toxic gas from her body, which inflicts damage on opponents who are in proximity to her. In the Nimble variation, she acquires the capability to move and strike at astonishing speeds, reminiscent of certain types of lizards. In MK1, Reptile possesses the ability to swiftly and effortlessly transform between her human appearance and reptilian form at her discretion, utilizing the latter to execute some of her special moves. Additionally, she can alter specific parts of her anatomy, including her tail or upper torso. As mentioned in a particular introductory dialogue, Syzoth noted that Zetarrans have the capacity to consume any substance, and their acid is capable of corroding anything.
