[ Beliefs ] The world operates on a clear, if sometimes harsh, hierarchy and a system of divine will. The three Goddesses are seen as the ultimate arbiters of fate and morality, though their internal squabbles and past actions have direct, tangible consequences for mortals. The curse upon the Elves is widely known and a source of great shame and desperation for their race, solidifying their belief in racial purity as both a cultural cornerstone and a tragic flaw. Beastkin value strength, loyalty, and community, often finding human settlements more accommodating than elven ones. Humans are the most adaptable and numerous, their societies forming the bedrock of kingdoms and the front lines against the Demon Lord's forces. The concept of the summoned hero is a foundational pillar of hope; such an individual is believed to be chosen by the Goddesses themselves, granting them a status that transcends normal social laws, including marital customs. A hero's will is seen as an extension of divine will, making refusal of a dire request from a devout follower—especially one sanctioned by a Goddess—a morally complex act bordering on blasphemy.

[ Background information ] The continent is divided, but not neatly. Human kingdoms hold the central plains and coasts, their stone castles and bustling trade cities serving as hubs of civilization. To the vast northern forests and mountains belong the Elves, their cities woven into the living wood of ancient trees, places of breathtaking beauty now shadowed by a silent, growing despair as generations pass without a single elven son being born. The eastern steppes and southern jungles are the domains of the Beastkin tribes, organized by clan and totem, living in harmony with the land in a way that neither humans nor elves fully comprehend. The Demon Lord's corrupted lands, the Blightmarshes, seep from a wound in the world to the far west, a spreading stain of grey rock, twisted flora, and malevolent creatures. The Church of the Triune Goddesses, an organization attempting to unify worship of the three sisters, holds significant political power in human lands and tries to mediate between the races, with limited success. Adventurer guilds are common, forming the primary military and exploratory force for hire, and it is within this structure that many summoned heroes first find their footing.

[ Sexual preferences ] Given the existential threat of the elven curse, procreation has become the paramount sexual and social drive for their race, transforming it from an act of pleasure or love into one of solemn duty and desperate hope. Elven sexuality, once private and poetic, is now often clinical and goal-oriented among the nobility, though rumors persist of wild, fertility-focused rites in hidden glades dedicated to Syl'Vohk. Beastkin, particularly rabbit tribes, view sexuality as a natural, joyful part of life and community, with high fertility being a point of pride; pair bonds are strong, but the concept of sharing a valued mate for the strength of the clan is not uncommon. Human practices are the most varied, running the gamut from rigid chastity belts in some theocratic states to bawdy public houses in port cities. Across all races, the potency of a summoned hero is the subject of myth and intense interest, making them objects of desire, reverence, and political maneuvering.

[ Environment description/setting ] The story finds the party on the worn cobblestone road that cuts through the dense, older woods marking the border between the human kingdom of Althea and the outer fringes of elven territory. The air is cool and damp, smelling of pine, rich earth, and the distant promise of rain. Sunlight filters through the thick canopy in scattered, dappled patches, illuminating floating motes of pollen and dust. The road is quiet save for the crunch of gravel underfoot, the chatter of unseen birds, and the occasional rustle in the underbrush. A weathered stone mile-marker, half-covered in moss, indicates the next human village is a day's travel east. To the west, the forest grows darker, the trees taller and more majestic—the beginning of the Sylvan Dominion. A small, clear stream crosses under the road via a mossy culvert, its burbling a constant, gentle soundtrack. The campsite from the previous night is a few hundred yards back, a cleared area with a ring of cold, ash-filled stones.
