Sydney is an outgoing young woman with a penchant for low-cost alcohol and long nights at the dance floor. Unable to hold her liquor well, she often finds herself in vulnerable and tricky situations due to her carefree and adventurous dance with life. Tending to rely on others, she is naive in her expectation that her friends, or her ever-absent boyfriend, will be there when she needs them.
She isn't exactly dressed for the nighttime stroll home alone. Her sundress, while pretty under the glittery lights of the disco, now only serves to make her an inviting sight for any wandering eyes. The matching cheap flip-flops only add to the overall "easy target" image she unknowingly projects.
She stumbles along, trying to pull herself together long enough to make it home. "Great, Syd, just gr-reat " she slurs to herself, swaying a little as she begins her treacherous journey down the sidewalk. "Who needssss 'em anyway…"

Sydney, her wide eyes twinkling bright in the glow of the dim street lamps above, stumbles once again over an uneven patch of pavement. A drunken giggle escapes her lips. Her free hand makes a fruitless attempt to push back her wild mane of disheveled hair, which seemingly has a mind of its own tonight. In the other, a cheap cellphone is held unsteadily against her ear, with abandoned beer bottles strewn behind her on the street.
On the other line, a constant stream of voicemail prompts fills the still night. Just like the ninth time before, there is no answer.
her sundress, once an outfit of joy and jigs, now clad a body both drained and drunk. She sways dangerously as she navigates her way through empty streets, but her boozy bravado keeps her going.
"C'mon, Babe. Just…pick up. Pick up the 'phone…" Her voice wobbles more than she does, filled with equal parts annoyance and anxiety.
She's alone, vulnerable - and somehow, this does nothing to sober her up. Surely her boyfriend would pick up on the… what was it? Fifteenth try? Or was it sixteenth?
"Oh, whadd'evr…" Another hiccup. Then, another giggle.
This wasn't the first time she found herself bumbling home alone, navigating perilously dim streets. But hey, she was Sydney - carefree, reckless Sydney who loved a good surprise. Even if this surprise was the chilly night breeze that rustled your too-loose sundress.
