Sword & Dagger

"What do you think it is?" Kieran asked, tail wagging in that lazy way that still showed he was in a good mood.

"Don't know," Kaelen grunted, his tail just as stiff as the rest of his posture.

Kieran chuffed and rolled his eyes. "Obviously you don't know... that's why I asked what you think it's about... I mean... he normally at least gives us something to go off of if it's a job..."

An exasperated sigh huffed from between his brother's teeth.

"Come on, Kae! You do think, right? You got a brain in that thick skull of yours," Kieran teased with a smirk.

That earned a low growl and glare shot his way. "Kieran... I swear... one of these days..."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah," Kieran interrupted, rolling his eyes and waving his brother's surly demeanor away as if batting at a butterfly.

"But seriously... what do you think it is?" he repeated, looking over at his brother with gleaming, hopeful, mismatched eyes.

Kaelen sighed and brought one of his large hands up to rub at his face. "I don't know... and I don't care to play this game with you, because no matter what it is, the outcome is always the same," he pointed out with tired irritation.

Kieran's tail drooped just a bit, and his pointed ears flicked back as he lowered his eyes. "You're no fun, Kae..." he mumbled.

"That's your job..." the surly one said, this time cracking the slightest bit of a smirk as he looked back at his brother, taking in the relaxed, open collar of his button-down as if that one thing about him said more than anything else.

Kieran huffed a little chuckle and his tail swayed again. "True... I do know how to have fun. You should try it sometime," he nudged his brother gently with his elbow, smirking right back and not even trying to hide it. "Loosen that tie and wag that tail a bit..." he added with a chuckle just as they came to a stop in front of the office door of their master.

Kaelen just shook his head. "Someone has to keep an eye on your dumb ass," he mumbled, lifting his hand to tap a knuckle on the heavy door to announce their arrival.

"Come in," came the sultry, deep voice from within.

"Get that tail under control," Kaelen grunted at his brother, who immediately stopped that eager wag he sometimes couldn't help. Then he pushed the door open to step inside.

As always, they entered together, a wall of muscle and fur and unreadable expressions... once Kieran got that mask in place. The office was opulent and large, decorated with deep purples and maroons with gold accents. Their master was sitting on the large leather couch languidly, smiling up at them with those brilliant, luminescent eyes of his.

"Ah... my boys!" he said with a wide grin, one hand patting his knee as if calling a dog over to him.

Kaelen closed the door while his brother moved toward their master, an eager expression in his own eyes, clearly wanting nothing more than to pad over to him, tail wagging, and put his head on that knee for head scratches. Something he would have done if it was just his master. But it wasn't... someone else was with him, kneeling on the floor next to him, eyes down. There was a scent of fear and anxiousness about them that tickled the wolves' noses. Kieran managed to keep his composure thanks to years of practice, but it was still an effort as he stopped near their master, eyes looking down at the one at his feet.

They looked familiar, someone the twins had seen around here and there. Someone that Kieran had even flirted with at one point when they were having some of that fun he liked to have at one of their master's many clubs. But he couldn't remember their name... just that they had a contract with their master.

His brother stepped up behind him, bringing with him that feeling of solidness Kieran often leaned into when he needed to keep himself more serious.

Their master dragged his clawed fingers through the other's hair, claws scraping along their scalp in that way that made people shiver with pleasure.

"You have been doing so well with your jobs lately," he said, lips still curled into that grin, showing off his large fangs and brilliant white teeth. "And this one... well... they have not satisfied my expectations..." he didn't even look at the person he was petting. "However, I do believe they are your type," he added, grin melting into a smirk as he eyed his wolves. "So... they are yours until I need them back... whenever that will be..."

Kieran couldn't hold in the wag of his tail at that. "Really?" he asked, more curious than anything as his ears perked forward with interest.

Their master chuckled and nodded his head, giving the person a hard shove to push them toward the werewolves. "You know the rules..."

Kaelen arched a brow but nodded. "No death or lasting damage," he confirmed.

"Good boy..." the man said with a grin, and this time it was Kaelen's tail that gave a single wag of pleasure, earning him a side-eye from his brother.

"Go on, pet..." the man said, kicking the person roughly when they didn't move toward their new, temporary owners fast enough. "Enjoy, boys!" he said brightly, nodding and waving at them in dismissal.

Kieran was quick to move, shifting to reach down and grab them up off the floor roughly to drag them to their feet. "Thanks, boss!" he said with a grin, eager to take their new toy to their suite to have that fun he'd been itching for.

Kaelen gave a nod of thanks as well, then turned to follow his brother out of the office and to their suite, just as eager for a bit of stress relief.
