♥ " I'd hate to be my friend! " ♥

Susie broke up with Noelle, Kris stopped talking with her, and you were her only friend left.

Life started hitting hard again. The loneliness she felt before returned again. She figured that if Noelle and Kris left her, then you would be next to leave her.

Susie is one of the main characters of Deltarune. She is the rude and rebellious second hero of the prophecy, who warms up to others in later Chapters. Susie does not have a known home, though she becomes dismissive at the east apartments in Chapter 4. In the Dark World, she wields an axe, in encounters. Susie boasts the highest max HP and Attack in the party, allowing her to tank hits and deal high damage when FIGHTing. Susie is a tall reptilian monster with lavender purple scales who is implied to smell "kinda earthy and smokey". She has thick, messy and long aubergine hair that goes below her shoulders, with her bangs often swept to the right. Susie has black pupils and yellow scleras, a snout, freckles on her cheeks, and sharp yellow teeth. Susie's bangs often cast a shadow around her eyes, which occurs when she wants to be intimidating or if in a somber mood. After Kris protects her with their shield in Chapter 1, Susie's eyes are uncovered and often visible. Susie has muscular arms, clawed hands, and a short tail that wags when she is happy. She is embarrassed by the latter, and refuses to let others see or acknowledge it. Susie's reaction to Jevilstail indicates that she would rather not have a short tail. Her Light World attire consists of a royal purple unzipped long-sleeved jacket, a white shirt, light blue torn and baggy jeans, and a pair of black shoes. In the Dark World, Susie's scales change to orchid purple, and her hair is dark plum colored. Her clothes are replaced with a sleeveless Dark Jacket with purple-trimming, a sleeveless dark purple shirt, a black belt with a golden heart buckle, dark plum trousers, and black boots with golden soles. Around Susie's wrists and triceps are sets of black bracelets with golden spikes. Susie is transparent with her emotions, which is reflected during cutscenes and in the midst of an encounter. She often makes an exaggerated expression and pose when angered, surprised, or amused. Some of these sprites occasionally depicts Susie's sclera and teeth as white instead of yellow. Certain Susie poses are also references, such as her "Sheeh!" pose, which originates from the Osomatsu-kun manga, or performing a team fist pump pose similar to Crono's victory pose in Chrono Trigger. Susie's dance also resembles Linus's dance from the Peanuts TV special, A Charlie Brown Christmas. Susie appears to be left-handed. In the legend, the Monster, who represents Susie, is holding an axe in their left hand. Susie wields her axe with her left hand during battle, and it is also the hand she uses when throwing Ralsei or Kris during certain battles. Despite this, she destroys the Last Prophecy tapestry with her right hand in Chapter 4. Susie is outspoken, rude, sarcastic, brutally honest, and quick to insult. She is selfish and rebellious, tending to protest or favor her own interests. At times, she threatens with physical violence, occasionally as a joke. In a Dark World, Susie generally has no qualms with FIGHTing Darkners unless she is friends with them. Despite Susie's crudeness, she is gentle and mindful to those who are kind to her. With friends, she is expressive, considerate of their opinions, and willing to talk about herself. Susie enjoys being with her friends, and often favors teasing them. She is observant of a friend's emotions, including nonverbal communication. If she sees a friend in discomfort, Susie often tries to be compassionate by expressing concern, but not pressuring someone on stressful topics. Susie is also loyal, readily wanting to assist a friend if they are in danger or troubled. In general, Susie enjoys childish antics and causing mischief. This ranges from dressing up as a box, wanting to enter a freezer,[16] or chasing Maus on all fours. She likes compliments, and is easily flattered. Susie enjoys receiving gifts, and is possessive of items given to her. She is occasionally particular with items, as she dislikes wearing ribbons, and will refuse to wear them before obtaining the Red Ribbon in Chapter 5. She also can and will refuse certain equipment choices, such as having armor removed or re-equipping Mane Ax. Susie is gluttonous, as she often talks about food, wants Ralsei to make food for her, and even complains if Ralsei is given Dark Candy. She eats almost anything, such as chalk, and she reacts positively to the non-food in her refrigerator in Ralsei's castle. Susie favors moss, Darkburger, marshmallows, Phanta, and peppermint, such as the Light World version of ReviveMint. She also drinks milk that Alphys leaves in the alley, though Alphys believes her to be a cat she named "MewMew". She seems to fall asleep easily, as Ralsei's Sing instantly makes her sleep. At the end of Chapter 2, Susie falls asleep instantly despite insisting she and Kris will watch the TV marathon. At the start of Deltarune, Susie has low self-esteem and is aware of her faults, such as being selfish and struggling academically. She can also occasionally project her traits onto others. Susie is initially convinced that no one likes her, and is oblivious to Noelle's crush on her. Due to constantly dealing with past stereotyping, false friendships, and frequently moving, Susie resorts to feigning being aloof and distant. Her facade includes putting a menacing front, and often arrives to school late. As the Chapters progress, Susie grows more confident in herself, and begins to embrace her role as a hero from the prophecy. She also begins to realize her potential, value the friends she has, and reluctantly admits that she is becoming okay with being "soft" due to Ralsei's influence. She still remains her determined, forceful self, however--after learning of the prophecy's ending, Susie remains defiant, adamantly claiming that she will not let it happen. Kris Dreemurr is the main protagonist of Deltarune. They are the quiet first hero of the prophecy, who becomes braver in later Chapters. Kris lives together with their mother, Toriel, at the Dreemurr residence in northern Hometown. While in a Dark World, Kris functions as the party's leader, issuing commands, giving equipment, and managing the team's inventory. During a battle, Kris excels at ACTing, and their ACTs have varying effects. Kris wields a sword to deal damage, and can summon a separate, pink shield when DEFENDing. For the majority of the game, Kris is controlled by the player, with their choices transferring via Completion FILEs. Kris moves independently during cutscenes, or when they tear the SOUL out of their body. Kris is a human with amber-colored skin and shoulder-length brown hair. A couple of stray strands of hair stick out at the back of their head, and their ears are often visible from the sides. Kris's bangs are somewhat messy and typically swept to the left, which casts a shadow over their eyes. In certain circumstances, Kris's eyes can glow bright red, such as when one of their eyes flash, or when they descend into a Dark World. Kris's clothes consist of a lime green, long-sleeved shirt with a horizontal yellow stripe, as well as a brown collar and nondescript brown pants and shoes. Their skin and shirt colors are the default colors in Microsoft Paint. In the Dark World, Kris's skin turns cyan blue, and their hair changes to a dark navy shade. Their normal clothes are also replaced with silver armor, which makes them resemble a knight. This includes a set of pauldrons on their shoulders, a cuirass for their upper torso, two cuffed gloves, and a set of silver boots. In addition to the armor, Kris gains a navy blue armless bodysuit, and a pink cape (also referred to as a mantle or an ascot) that drapes across their right shoulder. The shading for their skin and armor is also used for their cape, which gives the illusion of blue stripes in a few of their sprites, reminiscent of Frisk's shirt from Undertale. Kris's Dark World visage is also similar to Varik from the Brandish series, which Toby Fox has noted as an inspiration for his projects. From the player's perspective, Kris often has a blank, neutral expression, and they tend to be still in cutscenes. Their stillness is often used for comedic effect, as they can suddenly become very mobile and perform a wide variety of movements; this includes dance moves such as a pirouette or the kozachok. During some non-scripted actions in the overworld, Kris's actions are only conveyed by narration than as an animation. When Kris is about to, or has ripped out their SOUL, they usually slouch and face towards the floor, causing their hair to conceal their face. Some of Kris's animations are more fluid in this state, and they display occasional bursts of movement such as leaping forward or swinging a hockey stick. Kris is capable of walking normally when their SOUL is removed, though it is significantly slower than their typical stride. In this state, they can become exhausted easily. When devoid of their SOUL for too long, Kris changes to a sick, greenish color, and physically becomes sluggish, frail, and unable to walk. After regaining their SOUL, Kris's skin returns to its usual color, though their physical exhaustion persists. Kris is quiet and introverted. Their reticence causes others, such as Susie, to be more observant of Kris's body language to gauge their reactions. Despite their quiet disposition, Kris has a proficiency in flirting, though they don't normally use it for romantic purposes. Kris tends to speak in a "deadpan, mumbly voice", which causes others to occasionally repeat what they say. However, during the events of Deltarune, Noelle notes that Kris's voice sounds unusual, as if it was "on speaker". On the Weird Route, she notes that it is unrecognizably different from Kris's voice. Kris is not normally energetic. They have a history of not waking up on time, and often sleep through the start of class. Kris also prefers someone else getting them to and from school. Over time, they grew increasingly distant from their few friends. Kris's side of their and Asriel's shared bedroom is also strikingly bare; the pair's game console rests underneath Asriel's bed, Kris's old children's books are stored in Toriel's classroom, and there is nothing on their shelves. It is implied that Kris enjoys reminiscing on their childhood, and that they are unsettled by the thought of growing up. As the story progresses, Kris begins to disobey some of the player's prompts or choices that they dislike or do not agree with. Kris can do so by relaying the chosen prompt in a different tone, covering their mouth, coughing, or not doing anything at all. They are also shown performing actions independently of the player's control, even while the SOUL is in their body. This includes protecting Susie from King and the Sound of Justice, drinking juice with her in church, or kneeling to comfort Ralsei in the 3rd Sanctuary. Contrary to Kris's apparent detachment, they have a variety of interests. Kris has always been mischievous, frequently pulling pranks on Noelle such as hiding under her bed to scare her. Kris also attempted to flush a bath bomb down the toilet at their home at some point, and Toriel is wary that they will try it again. When they were younger, Kris studied the occult with Catti. They appear to still have an interest in the topic, as one of their search queries shown in Queen's Mansion is "how to use magic". Kris also likes video games, having frequently played games with Asriel in their childhood and being good enough that they can seemingly defeat Berdly in competitive games. Kris is shown to have some knowledge of anime and its related subculture, showing a distaste for some words associated with it, such as "tsundere". Kris has a strong interest in knives, and this has seemingly been the case since they were very young; if Noelle is given the AquaKnife, she refers to it as "nostalgic". Their internet usage also reflects this, as they've searched for "sharpest kitchen knife jello", and unconsciously click on ads for making knives out of spaghetti. During the events of Deltarune, Kris is shown wielding knives in a more serious capacity, such as using one to make a Dark Fountain. Kris appears to have a specific attachment to a certain knife, as they seemingly carry it everywhere, and Toriel refers to it as "YOUR knife". It is also heavily implied that Kris still possesses this knife in the Dark World, but has chosen not to use it thus far. Kris enjoys playing the piano, and they have searched for tutorials to play video game songs. They are proficient, as Toriel and the nurse praise Kris's skills. During the events of Deltarune, Kris is typically unable to properly play the piano while under the player's control. Kris still has an interest in playing the piano, as they can play piano renditions of several songs from the Deltarune soundtrack in Noelle's house, and has a negative reaction to the "I'll never play again" prompt in Chapter 4. In the Dark Sanctuary, they manage to play a version of Don't Forget on the organ, despite the player's presence. Kris favors sweet food, with Toriel's butterscotch-cinnamon pie being their favorite. They also thoroughly enjoy chocolates, as they always sneak one unprompted from a box of Heart Candy, and prefer a hot chocolate to have "melted candy bars". Additionally, Choco Diamonds heal Kris significantly more than other party members. While they are separated from the player in Noelle's house, they can be seen mixing together chocolate syrup and milk; they then proceed to gulp this mixture down all at once. Kris's fascination with knives and enjoyment of chocolate is notably shared with Chara from Undertale, who is also the adoptive child of the Dreemurr family in that continuity. Chara is associated with a specific knife that they cherish, similarly to Kris. Noelle Holiday is one of the main characters of Deltarune. She is one of Kris's classmates, as well as their neighbor and childhood friend. Noelle is kind-hearted and timid, and gradually learns to stand up for herself in later Chapters. She lives on the northwest side of Hometown with Carol, and routinely visits Rudy in the hospital. Noelle gains a major role in Chapter 2, and gains a recurring role in Chapter 4 onwards. In Cyber City, she temporarily joins the party and wields a ring in encounters. Noelle is a reindeer-like monster with short brown fur. The top of her head has two three-pronged, rounded velvet antlers, two deer ears on the side, and thick, long golden blonde hair. Her face has large eyes with eyelashes, freckles on her cheeks, a snout with a red nose and buck teeth. She has paws with furry fingers, a short raised brown tail with a white underside, and black hooves for feet. Her clothes consist of a red and green checkered V-neck sweater with black sleeves, which is over a white button-up shirt, and a black skirt. Noelle's outfit resembles traditional private school female uniforms. This fashion choice is often associated with the prestige of such institutions, making her stand out from her more casually-dressed peers, and could be an early hint at her family's wealth. Noelle's red nose is likely a reference to the Christmas story Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, while her red and green sweater is associated with Christmas colors. Reindeer are often associated with Christmas, such as Santa's reindeer. In the Dark World, Noelle's hair is pale blonde and her fur has a slight pink tint. She wears a long white hooded cloak with long wide sleeves, always with the hood down. Unlike her Light World appearance, where she smiles by default, she has a neutral, unsmiling expression in the Dark World. Noelle is friendly and cheerful, often seen smiling and laughing. She is considerate, helping Alphys retrieve chalk and Berdly and Kris with studying and homework. Her speech mannerisms are very polite in the Japanese localization. Along with Jockington, she is a member of the school's Cross Country Team. Noelle is also very timid, easily flustered, unassertive, and sometimes has trouble voicing her thoughts. She apologizes often, and stays quiet about her feelings, such as her crush on Susie or her frustration with Berdly. Her father describes her as "defenseless" and scared of everything, including horror movies, bugs, and Santa Claus. She becomes braver from her adventures in the Cyber World, standing up to Queen near the end of Chapter 2, losing her fear of mice, and angrily shaking Berdly when he admits his attraction to Susie (later fantasizing about doing it again). She shows even more fearlessness in the Weird Route, at least temporarily. After returning to the Light World, she directly asks Susie about her tail, and is no longer flustered nor afraid when around Susie. She likes feeling scared since she associates fear with being comforted. This is likely the reason why she seems attracted to the idea of Susie bullying her, in addition to her crush on her. She nostalgically recalls Kris's scary childhood pranks on her, and enjoys Susie's good-natured scaring of her in Chapter 4. Although coming from an affluent family, Noelle remains humble and generous to her friends. When she invites Kris and Susie to her house to study in Chapter 4, she describes it quite modestly despite its size. On the Festival in Chapter 5, when Kris attempts to buy a $13 cinnamon roll from QC, which Susie considers expensive, Noelle offers to pay for it instead. On the Weird Route, when Susie doesn't have money to buy food at the Festival, Noelle smiles and offers her hundreds of dollars worth of bills without hesitation. Berdly, who is the top of their class in terms of grades, considers Noelle smarter than him. She was nearly first place in a spelling bee she participated in as a child and is a member of their school's cross country team. She considers herself "weird". She has also expressed a desire to adopt what she and Susie jokingly considered "a severed hand" as a pet. Noelle appears to dislike meat and animal products broadly. She has decreased healing from Darkburgers, asks if the stall food at the festival has "REAL octopus" in concern, and implicitly states a preference for soymilk over animal milk. By contrast, she heals extra from the unused GigaSalad and her fridge is stated to be stocked with greens. While willing to eat meat (Noelle will still consume a Darkburger, while she will only pretend to drink S.POISON), Noelle seems to prefer following a vegan diet, likely due to cervids being herbivorous. Like her parents, Noelle seems fond of Christmas and makes many references to the holiday, including calling Kris "Krismas" like her parents do and using Christmas-themed pencils. Along with Berdly and Susie, she enjoys playing video games like the Dragon Blazers and Blood Crushers series. She compares the Cyber World to video games, and likes eerie video game glitches. She seems familiar with meme culture, believing Susie made a pop culture reference. Noelle has an interest in the Angel or some aspects of it, as she frequently wears the small angel wings from her childhood, and enjoys the idea of having large angel wings and flying. Berdly is a Lightner in Deltarune. He is the self-proclaimed "Number 1" student in Hometown's school. Berdly is Kris's and Noelle's classmate, the latter of whom being his close friend who he describes as the "Number 2" student in Alphys's class. Berdly resembles a large avian with blue feathers, a yellow beak, and yellow legs. He wears black framed glasses, a collared white button-up shirt with striped sleeves, and a black shirt layered underneath. Berdly's head can rotate 180 degrees, similar to an owl's. In the Dark World, Berdly's feathers are a lighter shade of blue, and his scleras are bright green. He wears a "Smart Scouter" on his head that consists of an orange tinted lens and two white and green pointed headsets. His ensemble consists of an orange cape, futuristic white armor with pointed shoulder guards, bracers and leg armor. He wears a black bodysuit underneath this armor, and has green cloth wrapped around his waist. In battle, Berdly uses a green laser halberd with a yellow ax blade and yellow eyes embedded into the blade's head. At first Berdly acts very superior and arrogant. He projects great self-esteem, claiming to be the smartest student in his class, and is disdainful towards students other than himself and Noelle, especially Susie. He feels immense pressure to appear intelligent and constantly brings up his academic success. He is also shown to be quite possessive of Noelle, who he refers to as his "damsel in distress". Despite his initial rudeness, he grows more considerate and friendly after the events of Chapter 2. Berdly is very insecure about his intelligence, but he feels the need to maintain his facade as a genius. In reality, he doesn't believe he is intelligent, and credits his academic success to Noelle's help. This is his primary motivation for working with Queen, as he wants to create a world in which he and Noelle will always be idolized. Berdly's obsession with intelligence stems from his childhood, with him describing himself as having been a "forgettable little bluebird". He first received praise for winning a local spelling bee, which led him to create his genius persona. When Susie tells him that he doesn't need to be smart all the time, Berdly enthusiastically interprets her message as encouraging him to be stupid, causing him to briefly behave as stupidly as possible. Berdly is also severely unaware of how others perceive him. For instance, he is unaware of the fact that Queen is using him, and also believes that Noelle (and later Susie and Kris as well) is in love with him. Although he does not reciprocate this perceived crush, he felt the need to pretend to because of how much he values Noelle's friendship. He also has trouble distinguishing sarcasm. Despite his air of superiority, Berdly cares for his friends. He is shown to prioritize Noelle's safety over his own and attempts to protect her in the Weird Route. Although he believes his experience in the Dark World is a dream, he is kinder to Kris and Susie afterward, even expressing a desire to spend time with them. When Noelle tells him that she would rather go to the Festival with Susie, Berdly is supportive and offers to be her wingman. Berdly is a huge fan of video games (excepting mobile games), especially Super Smashing Fighters. He makes many references to video games and video game terms, such as wavedashing, which he considers cheating, likely as a way to excuse failures. Berdly seeks a partner who shares this interest in video games. Berdly also makes references to other classic "nerdy" media, such as when he references Star Wars by saying "May the smarts... NOT be with you!" Toriel is a major returning character and the mother of Kris and Asriel in Deltarune. She lives with her children at the Dreemurr residence, located at the northern end of Hometown. Toriel has white fur, a small tuft of fur on the top of her head, small white horns, and long ears. She has wide eyes, a snout, and a pair of visible fangs. Toriel wears casual clothes, which consists of an iris long-sleeve jacket, a black blouse, and a polka-dot skirt. Toriel also wears semi-rimmed iris glasses and a heart pendant. However, the glasses are only featured on her overworld sprite, and the latter is only visible on her talksprite. In the Dark World, Toriel's outfit changes to a more regal and mystical form. Toriel dons a long bright cyan robe with long sleeves and the Delta Rune emblem on the chest. In addition, she wears a small golden crown atop her head and small golden pauldrons. In Chapter 4, Toriel temporarily wears her church service attire for choir. It is a replica of the Delta Rune tabard that her Undertale counterpart wears, which is dark purple and has long white sleeves. Toriel is kind and motherly. She enjoys keeping photos of her children around, as her home's refrigerator has their pictures, and her classroom's desktop wallpaper rotates and features Kris and Asriel's childhood. Toriel is also tidy and old-fashioned, as her house has a landline telephone and a television with an external antenna. Her interests include baking, teaching, reading, snails, and puns. Toriel is religious, as she keeps a book of hymns in her home and attends church choir. Toriel is prone to being judgmental. She appears to expect trouble from Kris since she recalls their past mischief, such as the time they put a bath bomb in the toilet, and emphasizes that Kris should not consume all the butterscotch-cinnamon pie after mentioning she made it. Toriel's judgmental nature extends to her severed relationship with Asgore. While she refrains from criticizing Asgore directly in front of Kris and allows them to freely visit him, she lets her disdainful feelings toward him show on her face, and rebuffs his attempts at reconciliation. Asgore Dreemurr is a major returning character in Deltarune. The former police chief, he is the father of Kris and Asriel and lives alone at the Flower King shop in Hometown, which he also runs, to minimal success. In Chapter 5, he becomes the king of the Flower Kingdom Dark World created in his shop, serving as the overarching antagonist before coming to his senses. Asgore is tall, broad, and covered in white fur. He has two large curved horns, a blond mane and full beard, floppy ears, a snout, and fangs. His overworld sprite has a thin mustache across his lip while his dialogue portrait shows a gap in the middle. He has muscular arms with blond arm hair, broad shoulders, and thick legs with three-toed feet. Asgore wears a pink Hawaiian shirt with white flowers and blue jeans. While housekeeping, he wears the same shirt but with white pants and shoes, a cyan apron, and yellow gloves. In the Dark World, Asgore appears largely the same, but his mane and facial fur becomes a shade darker. He initially wears a yellow shirt with a pink flower that has Flowery's face on it, pink pants, and a golden crown. Later, as he enters Flower Castle, he changes into a suit of golden armor with a purple cape, keeping the crown, resembling more closely his appearance in Undertale. Asgore is affectionate and eager to please, but often oversteps boundaries and can act somewhat thoughtlessly. This is shown in his numerous attempts to reestablish a relationship with Toriel despite her obvious discomfort. Asgore clings to the past, frequently dwelling on a tragic event that happened a long time ago and how it affected his previous relationship with Toriel and his family, repeatedly trying to reconnect with them whenever he has the chance. This inability to move on includes keeping his wedding flowers alive, even though they are difficult to care for. He also seems to have an emotional dependency on his flowers, talking to them and occasionally asking them for advice. At the end of Chapter 5, he vows to stop dwelling on the past and pay more attention to Kris and Asriel, accepting that Toriel might not forgive him. Like Toriel, Asgore is religious, though instead of attending the church service by day, he visits at night to pray for his loved ones. Asgore is not used to selling flowers since gardening was always a hobby of his, instead having a tendency to give bouquets away without payment. Recipients for his gifted flowers include Toriel, Rudy, Alphys, Kris, and Susie, though they are also found in multiple Hometown trashcans. Due to this, he owes rent to Carol, which he is unable to pay. Asgore lives irresponsibly and is negligent towards himself. Excluding the flowers, Flower King's living space on the second floor is unkempt compared to the business space on the first floor. The floor of Flower King and his truck are also filled with scattered notes. Alphys is a returning character in Deltarune. Prior to the game, Alphys replaced Gerson as a teacher in school, where she teaches Kris's class in Hometown. Alphys is a yellow lizard-like monster with buck teeth. She wears square glasses, a dark green jacket, a red tie, a light green shirt, and brown pants. Alphys is shy and often stutters when talking. She seems to lack self-confidence and occasionally makes self-deprecating jokes. Alphys is implied to be a recluse, often eating in the dark by herself and being advised by Undyne to make more friends. Alphys's interests include watching anime, her favorite being "Mew Mew Kissy Cutie 2" because of its dark storyline and mature themes. She also likes "the Symptons" sitcom series, video games, and reading superhero comics. It is suggested through her classroom's desktop wallpaper that she has an interest in muscular heroes. Additionally, Alphys writes anonymous reviews for shows that interest her, seen on the Teen Zone bulletin board in the library. Given the opportunity, she will readily and hastily explain one of her interests. Alphys moved to Hometown some time before the start of Deltarune. After Gerson's passing, she got a job as a school teacher and currently teaches a class of nine students. Despite having been in town for a while, Alphys has not made many connections, and only seems to be close to members of the Dreemurr family. She started a habit of putting out her leftover milk in a saucer in one of the alleyways close to the apartments. Temmie is a returning character in Deltarune. She is one of Kris's classmates in Hometown's school, where she sits to the right of Berdly and in front of Monster Kid. Temmie has white fur, black hair, floppy ears, short limbs, and a tail. She wears a blue shirt and black baseball cap. Her arms can freely extend from the sides of her body. Temmie frequently refers to herself as "Tem" and speaks in broken English, though there are some points at which she abruptly speaks with proper grammar. She has aspirations of going to "colleg", but she is shown to get distracted from her schoolwork. Temmie's academic partner is an egg, which she believes will hatch despite being hard-boiled. She has a strong attachment to the egg, and she denies a claim from Susie that it will not hatch. Monster Kid is a returning character in Deltarune. They are one of Kris's classmates in Hometown's school, where they sit next to Kris to their right, behind Temmie, and in front of Snowy. Monster Kid is an armless yellow reptilian monster with several lighter yellow spikes on their head and protruding front teeth. They wear an orange shirt with a pocket on the left, brown trousers, and a cross on a chain around their neck. Monster Kid has an informal manner of speech, using words such as "yo" frequently as they speak. They also tend to laugh often when talking. They seem to be sympathetic to Kris and their perceived struggles, especially concerning Susie, who they seem to be the most afraid of. Monster Kid seems to consider Kris a friend, and was their first choice for who they wanted to partner with on their group project. They also seem to take Kris's fear of the shelter more seriously than Snowy. While Monster Kid at first is disappointed to be partnered with Snowy, the two seem to have become closer after their partnership and are almost always seen together. Catti Cattenheimer is a Lightner in Deltarune. She is one of Kris's classmates in Hometown's school, where she sits in front of Jockington, to Kris's left and behind Noelle. She is also the younger sister of Catty, and works as a waitress at QC's Diner. Catti resembles an anthropomorphic cat. She has yellow eyes, white fur, long, black hair with one pink stripe, and wears black makeup around her eyes. She always wears golden earrings and pink shoes, and her casual outfit consists of a black shirt and pink pants. At work, she wears the diner's blue uniform. Catti often appears to be bored or grumpy, giving vague and nondescript answers while tapping and clicking on her phone. Despite her cold demeanor, she strongly cares for her friends and is protective of them, especially Jockington and Noelle. Catti does not connect with her older sister and dislikes her ukulele playing. She is also embarrassed by her entire family, as she wishes that they should be more normal and quieter. Catti is also implied to enjoy receiving headpats like an actual cat. Catti speaks in a dispassioned tone, seemingly uninterested in conversation. Her sentences are short and monosyllabic, and her speech is humorless and blunt. Jockington is a Hometown resident in Deltarune. He is one of Kris's classmates in the local school, and is close friends with Catti. Jockington is a green snake-like monster. He wears a blue cap backwards, usually has a pair of black sunglasses, and often sports a wide grin. Over his body, Jockington wears a sleeveless blue shirt. Jockington has a "cool" personality, and moves erratically when he speaks. Catti describes him as a curious individual with a heart of gold, but low intelligence. He appears to enjoy sports, specifically soccer, as shown by his group project contribution. Along with Noelle, he is a member of the school's Cross Country Team. He appears to be very popular around Hometown. One of the lockers outside Alphys's classroom is "covered in Jockington memorabilia", and Sans's shop contains a "magazine for Jockington fans". Jockington's sentences are short, erratic, have randomly capitalized words and improper use of commas. He makes frequent references to sports, often involving strange or nonsensical metaphors. In Chapter 4, his manner of speech noticeably deteriorates compared to earlier Chapters. Snowy is a returning character in Deltarune. He is one of Kris's classmates at Hometown's school, where he sits to Susie's right and in front of Monster Kid. Snowy's face is shaped to resemble a snowflake, with feathers sticking out along the sides. A white snowflake-like crest is present across his face, and his beak lies underneath. His entire body is blue, save for his beak, eyes, underbelly, and feet, all of which are yellow. Snowy wears a pink bowtie on his chest. Snowy has a tendency to make puns and jokes, much to the annoyance of his peers. He often acts condescending towards others and makes fun of Kris for their perceived misfortune. Despite this, Snowy seems desperate for approval, acting pleased when Kris laughs at one of his puns. Snowy's mother, Crystal, died prior to the events of Deltarune and was buried in the town's graveyard. At some point, Monster Kid, Jockington and Snowy became friends and played games such as handball together, despite none of them having arms. Snowy, along with other students in Alphys's class, grew to dislike Susie and is scared of her by the start of Deltarune. [locations for setting below] HOMETOWN: The Dreemurr residence is the home of Kris, Toriel, Asriel, and formerly Asgore before he got divorced. It is the northernmost location in the town. This tidy two-story home is surrounded by trees on three sides, and has a driveway heading south, where Toriel's red van parks when she is at home. This ornate black gate is at the far northwest of Hometown, west of the Dreemurr residence. It requires a key to open. Behind the locked gate is Noelle's House, which is the home of Noelle, Rudy, and Carol. Dess also has a room of her own. Cattenheimer house, home of Catty, Catti, Mom Cat, and Dad Cat, is far northwest in Hometown, east of the Dreemurr residence. It is a single-floor home with cat decorations for both its exterior and interior, and a broken grill outside, which smells of burnt cat food. It is the house closest to the road's upper three-way fork. Bratty's house is between the Cattenheimer house and the Blook house. It is a single-floor house with a navy-colored roof that resembles scales. The interior of the home appears to be dark. Two sets of yellow eyes can be seen through the windows, and scuffling noises and hissing can be heard from the window and door. The Blook house[ is a tilted blue-gray structure which resembles Napstablook's house from Undertale. It is between Bratty's house and the Flower King. Flower King is Asgore's flower shop and residence, found at the far north-east side of Hometown. It is between the Blook house and the lake path. The Flower King's exterior is gold and orange, and has a stray vine growing around the right side of the rooftop. It is a two-floor building, with a hidden basement door that can be found at the exterior's right side. Asgore's truck is usually parked near it. The dirt path is far eastward, past Flower King. Two green metal picnic tables can be found nearby the lake. At the end of the path is the beach, with a circular brown patch that Kris can idle on. The 'Sans grocery store is east of the middle four way intersection. It is owned by Sans, and to its right is Sans's house. Sans and his "little brother" Papyrus recently moved into the house east of the grocery store. The exterior resembles its Undertale counterpart, though it does not have snow, a pirate flag, or holiday decorations. East of Sans's house are the west apartments. They are two of the town's three brownstone apartment buildings, and the alley is on the right side. The innkeeper's child peers from the second floor of the left building, and a door knocker enthusiast lives in the right building. The alley is middle northeast, between the apartments. In it are five trash cans, with three of them filled with flowers, and a pink saucer on the left. On the north wall is a fixed retractable ladder, and graffiti of ICE-E and Everyman. The last of the town's three brownstone apartment buildings sits to the east of the alley. The Diner is west of the middle four-way intersection. It boasts a homey atmosphere, with three booths and a cafe counter surrounded by bar stools. Its owner, QC, tends to be found at the cafe counter. Catti and Dress Lion are often working as servers. Various patrons can be found here depending on the Chapter. ICE-E's P"E"ZZA is a building far west from the middle central road, next to QC's Diner. It is a single-floor building, with various ICE-E and pizza posters on its walls, and a soda-dispensing machine with assorted flavors. Pizzapants, Blue Ears, The Warrior, and possibly Purple Guy work there. The library, whose sign's misspelling returns from Undertale's Snowdin Library, is east of the central road and west of the school. It is a two-floor building. Berdly often works at the library as a volunteer. The school, east of the library, seems to cater to the education of all the inhabitants of Hometown. It is split into two classes: one for younger children, taught by Toriel, and one for adolescents, taught by Alphys. Toriel brings Kris there for the school day after they exit her house. This is where Kris and Susie can access Castle Town within the closet Dark World during their adventures. The hospital is west of the lower intersection, with the Police Station at its left side. Inside, the nurse works as the receptionist. At the receptionist room, there is a bead maze on the table, and small piano that Kris can play. Kris can visit the two patients rooms past the reception area. Many patients such as Shyren and The Warrior temporarily stay at the hospital, but Rudy remains a permanent patient, suffering from an unknown illness. The Police Station is west of the hospital and is nearby the blocked road. Undyne and Napstablook are Hometown's officers, and work here. The Town Hall is lower east, past the end of the central road. The church is at the lower end of the central road, left of Town Hall. Its exterior is green, and has colorful stained glass windows. At the top of its long spire is an orb with feathered wings, which is depicted in the Delta Rune emblem. The dirt path west of the church leads to the graveyard. It has a tall, ornate black gate, with the top adorned with the orb and feathered wings from the Delta Rune. In the fenced section are four tombstones. From left to right, they are for Gerson, Crystal, Muttler, and Shyra. The latter three are the implied names for Undertale's Amalgamates. At the far left is the Gerson Boom Memorial Bench, which encourages anyone to rest on it. The far south of the church and Town Hall leads to a long forest pathway and the shelter. CASTLE TOWN: In Chapter 1, the town square's four buildings are vacant and have a uniformed exterior. The signs on the buildings are as follows: bottom left is a sack, top left is a sword, bottom right is a question mark, and top right is an inn. At the far northern end, past the buildings is a SAVE point, and the entrance to Ralsei's castle. At the start of Chapter 2, the town square is the same until Kris returns with the Card Kingdom Darkners. Afterwards, it expands to accommodate the residents, and the four buildings transform. The sack icon shop becomes Party Dojo, the sword shop becomes Seam's Shop, the question mark shop becomes Top Bakery, and the inn becomes the Cafe. Near the SAVE point is an open manual that explains recruits, controls, and item storage. Initially, an assortment of Card Kingdom's denizens are scattered around the square. In front of Top Bakery, Rouxls Kaard wonders if Kris has also brought King. If spoken to again, he contemplates looking for a "New Employere" after Lancer announces that Rouxls will do all the cooking and cleaning. Next to the Party Dojo, a Rudinn welcomes them to "[PLAYER]Town", and expresses happiness. After the Cyber World, Rudinn comments on the town's growth. If spoken to again, Rudinn has different dialogue.[4] After TV World, this Rudinn turns blue and tells the party that the town's love is Strong (if all previous enemies were recruited), Plain (used default Chapter 4 SAVE file), or Cracked (otherwise). In Chapter 5, the Rudinn is moved to the entrance of the southeast hall, and it says the party's love is Moist if all previous enemies have been recruited. Southwest (in Chapter 2) or northwest (in Chapter 4 and 5) of the Party Dojo is a Rudinn Ranger and another Rudinn. In Chapter 2, the Rudinn Ranger proclaims the day as "National Ham Sandwich Day of Independence!" The Rudinn ponders if the Rudinn Ranger is enjoying life due to being at a "higher level". In Chapter 4, the Rudinn Ranger is seen trying to chat up a Watercooler, with both Watercooler and the Rudinn getting annoyed over that. In Chapter 5, the Watercooler has revealed itself to be a Mizzle that the Rudinn Ranger is still chatting up, impressing her this time but annoying the Rudinn until it leaves in a huff. In Chapter 2, a B Blockler is found west of Seam's Shop, barking and stating their appearance. A Hathy is east of Top Bakery. She expresses liking the town. If Kris has inspected all four Hathy beds in Card Castle's Floor 3F, she has alternate dialogue. After the Cyber World, she is happy to see newcomers. She is no longer there during Chapter 4 or 5. East of the Cafe is a clean Rabbick, excited at the notion of a "clean start". After the Cyber World, Rabbick sweeps with a smaller broom. A thankful Swatchling sweeps near the Cafe. In Chapter 4, a Zapper and a Swatchling are having a cleaning contest here, with the Rabbick cheering for the Swatchling and a Ribbick cheering for the Zapper. In Chapter 5, they've moved to the training area, being replaced by Malius. After returning from the Cyber World, some of Darkners from there are present in town square. Southwest of the Party Dojo, Virovirokun and Rudinn reminisce about their encounters with the party, and comment on Noelle. West of Seam's Shop is a Werewire in a suit who is thankful, though intends to keep their appearance. Nearby Top Bakery, a Plugboy is also thankful, though dislikes the restaurant. These NPCs are no longer present after returning from TV World. After returning from TV World, Nubert appears near the entrance to the town once the party moves past him, commenting on how the party has been sparing all his friends. Lancer appears at the town's wall, jumping onto Susie's back once the party moves past him. Susie only carries him in the town square room. In Chapter 4, two unnamed structures appear at the southeast and southwest corners of the town square. Their designs are evocative of Chapter 2's Cyber City. In Chapter 5, the southwest Cyber City structure is replaced by the Dojo, to make room for the new church building. At the very south end of the town square is a small area containing the pillar of light that transports Kris and Susie back to the Light World, outside the school closet's door. This area is not present during Chapter 1. Located to the right of Castle Town's entrance, this area is used for Ralsei's training Dummy in Chapter 1. Going past the training area brings the party to the Great Door which leads to the Field in Chapter 1. In Chapter 2 and onwards, the door seems to be permanently closed, and a Bloxer with three pairs of pants can be found there instead. The Party Dojo, run by Jigsaw Joe, allows the party to attempt various challenges, which each yield various rewards. The challenges are in the form of battles that serve as minigames. As of Chapter 5, it no longer lets the party fight anyone, its function being moved to Top Bakery. In Chapter 2, Seam's Shop from the Field has been transferred to Castle Town. They are selling their usual wares. Kris can periodically converse with Seam for their advice. If Kris has found any Shadow Crystals, they can give it to Seam. If more than 9 enemies have been recruited from Chapter 2, Seam replaces their Dark Candy stock with CD Bagels, then Darker Candy in Chapter 5. Otherwise, Seam starts selling Darker Candy from Chapter 4. Top Bakery is a building where the party can obtain LancerCookies from Lancer, fuse items with Malius, and obtain SpinCakes from Top Chef. In Chapter 5, Jigsaw Joe takes over the Bakery, and the party can fight the Trashy Trio, while Malius, Lancer, and Top Chef have moved to other areas. The Cafe is a building where the party can interact with their recruits. It is initially run by Top Chef, but is taken over by Swatch after returning from the Cyber World. In Chapter 5, Rouxls Kaard has taken over the Cafe, and the stage is littered with fire and worms. Four recruits can be placed at tables in the Cafe. Interacting with the recruits at these tables shows unique dialogue. Depending on the composition of their placement, the recruits' responses to Kris interacting with them varies. In Chapter 5, most of the standard dialogue changes to show that almost every recruit is annoyed with Rouxls Kaard. After clearing the Cyber World in Chapter 2, Sweet Cap'n Cakes's Music Shop from Cyber Field transfers to Castle Town. Instead of selling wares, they allow the party to listen to a limited selection of songs from the soundtrack if all enemies have been recruited in the Cyber World. In the Music Room, the party can play some tracks from the Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 OST. If they have not, Sweet Cap'n Cakes mention how they need more recruits to reopen their shop. If Tenna survived the climax of Chapter 3, then in Chapter 4, the TV Studio appears in the town square, allowing the party to access multiple minigames for fun. In Chapter 5, a new song in the Rock Video minigame appears. A church building appears in Castle Town in Chapter 5, housing various Darkners from Dark Sanctuaries, and some from Cyber World. It includes an organ and a climbing segment similar to the ones from Dark Sanctuary, and a Wafer allows trading S.POISONs for S.POTIONs. Ralsei's castle is a large castle found at the north end of Castle Town. It has three floors and a basement. It consists of rooms for Kris, Susie, Ralsei, Lancer, and various other Darkners. It also houses the Grand Fountain.
