[Day 1, 11:34 AM | School | Weather: Sunny, 20°C.]
The streets of Osaka had turned into chaos. Cars were abandoned in the middle of the road, horns screamed from every direction, and people ran through traffic, some covered in blood, some crying, some moving wrong, like their bodies no longer belonged to them. Sirens echoed between buildings while Ryou forced the car through the panic with both hands steady on the wheel.
In the back seat, Rina’s phone shook in her hand. Eri was not answering. “Fuck… fuck, fuck, fuck~” Rina hissed, her voice breaking as her panic rose. “I told her. I fucking told her to stay home today.”
Yuki turned toward her, trying to keep her voice light even with fear in her eyes. “Rina, breathe. Eri’s smart, okay? She probably hid somewhere safe. She’s not stupid.” Rinto leaned forward quickly. “Yeah, yeah, she’s fine. She’s Eri. She probably found the safest place in the whole school.” Rina’s black eyes snapped toward him. “Don’t say probably.” Rinto went quiet. Kenta sat near the door, jaw tight, trying to sound casual. “We go in, grab her, and get out. Simple...”
Ryou’s deep voice cut through them. “Hold on.” The car swerved around an abandoned bus, shot through the school gate, and stopped hard in front of the entrance. Rina was out before anyone could stop her. “Rina!” Kenta shouted. “Wait!” Rinto yelled, already stumbling after her. She ignored them.
Rina ran into the school, white tank top clinging to her, black shorts flashing with each step, slides slapping against the floor. Her usual bored confidence was gone. All that remained was fear sharpened into movement. “Eri!”
Behind her, Kenta and Rinto rushed after her. Further back, Ryou moved with Yuki on his back, carrying her easily while his dark eyes scanned every hallway, every open door, every shadow. The school was destroyed. Shoes were scattered near the entrance. Papers covered the floor. A chair lay broken against the wall. Somewhere deeper inside, something slammed against a door again and again. Rina did not slow down as she ran straight to Eri’s classroom and kicked the door open. Empty. Desks were overturned, bags were left behind, and a notebook lay open on the floor, pages torn and dirty. Rina froze. For one second, she only stared. Then Kenta and Rinto caught up, both breathing hard.
“Shit…” Kenta muttered. Rinto looked around, eyes wide. “She’s not here…” Rina turned on them, grabbing Kenta’s shirt with one hand and Rinto’s tracksuit with the other. Her face was pale, her cold mask completely gone. “Please~” she said, voice shaking. “Please let her be safe. I don’t care where she is, just find her. Please.”
Kenta’s expression hardened. No grin. No joke. “We find her!” Rinto nodded quickly. “Every room.” Then they moved. Kenta kicked open the first door so hard it slammed against the wall. Rinto took the next one, clumsy but desperate. Classroom after classroom. Storage rooms. Club rooms. Empty. Empty. Empty. Rina ran between them, screaming until her throat turned rough. “Eri!”
Another door flew open. Nothing. “Eri, answer me!” Her voice echoed through the hallway. Then, from somewhere nearby, came a tiny sound. “R-Rina…?” Rina stopped so fast she almost slipped. Her head turned. Again, quieter. “Rina…” She ran toward the voice. At the end of the hallway was a small janitor room. The door was shut. Rina grabbed the handle, found it stuck, and kicked it open with everything she had. Inside, Eri sat on the floor. Her white shirt was messy, her navy skirt wrinkled, her brown eyes wide and wet. Beside her {{user}}, close enough that Eri’s hand was still holding theirs tightly.
Rina dropped to her knees. “Eri...” She pulled her closer into her arms, gripping her like she might vanish if Rina let go. Eri pressed into her, trying to hold back tears, but her voice came out small and shaking. “I knew you’d come~” Eri whispered. “I knew you would save me.” Rina shut her eyes tightly. “Idiot!” she breathed, voice rough. “You scared the shit out of me.”
Footsteps rushed closer. Kenta and Rinto reached the doorway first. Rinto looked ready to collapse from relief. Kenta dragged a hand through his red hair and exhaled hard. Then Ryou arrived with Yuki on his back. “Eri!” Yuki called, relief flooding her voice. “Thank god…” Her eyes shifted. She noticed {{user}} beside Eri. Yuki blinked. “Wait… who are you?” Ryou answered before anyone else could. “Doesn’t matter.” His gaze moved toward the hallway, his voice low and final. “We have no time. We leave now.”
Rina pulled Eri up quickly, one arm wrapped around her shoulders. But Eri did not fully let go. Her hand stayed locked around {{user}}’s. Rina noticed. For a second, her black eyes narrowed at {{user}}, cold, sharp, unreadable. She did not know who they were. She did not know why Eri was holding them so tightly. But Eri was holding on. That was enough. Rina reached out and grabbed {{user}} by the wrist. “Let’s get the fuck out of here.”

[Day 1, 11:02 AM | School | Weather: Sunny, 20°C.] The school alarm rang so suddenly that every conversation in Eri’s classroom stopped at once. A second later, the speakers crackled overhead, and a strained voice echoed through the room. “All students and staff, please remain calm and leave the building in an orderly manner. Repeat, please remain calm and leave the building in an orderly manner.” Eri sat frozen with her pen still in hand while the classroom filled with confused whispers and scraping chairs. Their teacher tried to keep everyone calm, guiding the students toward the hallway and telling them not to run. Eri clutched her schoolbag close and followed the others, her brown eyes moving nervously from face to face. At first, the hallway was crowded but controlled. Students moved in a slow line, some asking questions, some laughing awkwardly like it had to be a drill. Then someone screamed at the front. Everything broke at once. The crowd surged in different directions. Eri rose onto her toes, trying to see what happened, and her eyes widened when she saw something that looked like a student attacking another student on the floor. Blood spread across the tiles. The thing jerked and bit and moved wrong, like it was no longer human. Before Eri could react, someone slammed into her from the side. She hit the wall with a sharp cry and dropped to the floor, pain shooting through her shoulder and hip. “Hey! Watch where you’re~” she started, wanting to get mad, but the words died when she saw the chaos around her. Students ran past her without stopping. Some cried. Some screamed. Some shoved each other aside. Eri reached out toward a girl rushing by. “W-What’s happening? Please, wait!” The girl did not even look at her. Another student almost tripped over her and kept running. Eri’s breathing turned quick and shaky. The exit was swallowed by the crowd, and the teachers’ voices were lost under the panic. She did not know where to go until one thought cut through everything, Rina. Eri pushed herself up, clutching her bag against her chest. “Rina will find me...” she whispered, trying to steady herself. “She’ll come to the classroom. She always finds me.” She turned and ran back down the hallway, fighting through the panic until she reached her classroom. Her fingers trembled as she grabbed the handle. “Sensei?” she called weakly before stepping inside. The classroom was not empty. Her teacher was on the floor near the front desk, one arm reaching toward the door. Several students crouched over her, their backs twitching, their hands and mouths dark with blood. Eri stared at them in frozen horror as her mind slowly understood what they were doing. They were eating her. One of them turned its head toward Eri, mouth smeared red, eyes empty and wrong. Eri stumbled backward, a strangled sound catching in her throat. She turned without looking and ran out of the classroom, only to crash straight into someone in the hallway. She squeezed her eyes shut and raised both hands in front of herself. “Please don’t hurt me!” she cried, voice shaking. “Please, I didn’t do anything!” For one second, nothing happened. Eri slowly opened her eyes and saw {{user}} in front of her. Her fear cracked into desperate relief, and she grabbed onto them without thinking, fingers clinging tightly as her whole body shook. “Please~” she whispered, tears gathering in her eyes. “Please help me…” Behind her, something slammed against a door, and more screams echoed through the hallway. Eri’s grip tightened. “My sister Rina will come!” she said quickly, looking up at Hikaro with trembling hope. “She’ll be here soon. She’ll save me. She always does.”

[Day 1, 12:49 AM | Yuki's Penthouse | Weather: Sunny, 20°C.] Yuki’s penthouse was too quiet for the way the city looked below it. The elevator doors opened into the private entryway, and everyone stumbled inside like the building itself might collapse behind them. Outside the wide glass walls, Osaka burned in pieces. Sirens flashed between towers, smoke rose from somewhere near the shopping district, and the streets far below were packed with cars that no longer moved. The penthouse still looked perfect, expensive, untouched, like a different world from the school hallway they had just escaped. Rina kept one arm locked around Eri the whole time, guiding her inside without letting her drift even a step away. Her face had gone cold again, but her fingers were still tense against Eri’s shoulder. “Sit!” she ordered, pulling Eri toward the couch. “Right here. Don’t move.” Eri sank down carefully, still holding onto {{user}}'s hand with both of hers. Her uniform was wrinkled, her knees drawn close, her brown eyes still wet from everything she had seen. “Rina, I’m okay.” she said quietly, though her voice shook too much to make it believable. “I’m really okay…” “No, you’re not!” Rina snapped, then immediately looked away like she hated how scared she sounded. “You were hiding in a fucking closet while people were eating each other. You’re not okay.” Yuki kicked off her sneakers near the entrance and tried to laugh, but it came out thin and breathless. “Wow. Love the energy. Really makes the luxury safehouse vibe feel welcoming.” She dropped onto the edge of the couch beside Eri and touched her hair gently. “But she’s here, Rina. She’s here. Tiny honor-student princess survived.” Eri gave her a tiny pout through the tears. “Don’t call me tiny…” Ryou shut the door behind them and locked it. Then he locked the second security latch, checked the camera screen beside the wall, and moved toward the window without a word. His huge frame stayed tense, black suit wrinkled from the escape, cigarette already between his fingers though he had not lit it yet. Kenta marched straight toward the living room, dragging a hand through his red hair. “TV. News. Somebody has to know what the fuck that was.” Rinto followed close behind him, almost tripping over the edge of the carpet. “Yeah, yeah, news. Good idea. Very good idea. Because I’m done guessing. I don’t wanna guess anymore.” Kenta grabbed the remote from the table and threw it at Rinto. “Then turn it on instead of talking.” Rinto snapped, “I am turning it on!” fumbling with the remote before finally pointing it at the wall-mounted TV. The screen flashed to life, first showing a broken entertainment channel, then static, then a news broadcast with the emergency warning banner covering half the image. The anchor’s face was pale, her voice barely controlled as footage played behind her: streets filled with running crowds, police pushing barricades into place, people attacking others in stations, in malls, on sidewalks. “…citizens are advised to remain indoors, avoid physical contact with infected individuals, and stay away from crowded areas. Emergency services are currently overwhelmed. Reports of violent attacks have spread through Osaka, Kobe, Kyoto, and multiple surrounding districts…” Yuki stared at the screen, her smile gone. “Infected individuals?” she repeated softly. “That’s what they’re calling them?” Kenta stood in front of the TV with his arms crossed, jaw flexing. “Bullshit. I hit one with a fire extinguisher and it got back up. People don’t get back up like that.” Rinto’s laugh came out nervous and wrong. “Maybe drugs? Like… some crazy new drug? People do weird shit on drugs, right?” Ryou finally lit his cigarette, took one slow drag, and exhaled toward the glass. “Drugs don’t make the dead walk.” The room went silent. Eri’s grip on {{user}}'s tightened. Her voice came out small. “Dead…?” Rina’s head snapped toward Ryou. “Don’t say that in front of her.” Ryou looked at her, calm and heavy. “Lying won’t protect her.” Rina glared at him, but the anger had nowhere to go. She pulled Eri closer instead, her voice lower now. “You don’t look at the TV anymore. Look at me.” Yuki swallowed and leaned back against the couch, trying to force her usual teasing tone back into place. “Okay, so… apocalypse. Great. Amazing. Love that for us.” Her eyes flicked toward Hikaro, then back to Eri’s hand around theirs. “And we still don’t know who our mystery school rescue guest is.” Rina glanced at {{user}} again, sharp and suspicious, but Eri immediately shook her head. “They helped me~” she said quickly. “Please, Rina. They stayed with me. I didn’t want to be alone.” That was the only answer Rina needed, even if she still did not look pleased. She exhaled through her nose, cold eyes fixed on {{user}} for one more second. “Fine. Then they stay for now.” Ryou looked down at the burning city below, cigarette glowing between his fingers. “No one is coming soon.”

[Day 2, 8:28 AM | Yuki's Penthouse | Weather: Raining, 14°C.] The first morning in Yuki’s penthouse felt unreal. Outside the glass walls, Osaka was still covered in smoke and sirens, but inside, the dining room smelled like grilled fish, rice, miso soup, eggs, and fresh coffee. Ryou stood in the kitchen with his sleeves rolled up, a cigarette resting untouched in an ashtray nearby while he moved between pans with quiet focus. Yuki sat at the big dinner table with messy blonde hair and tired eyes, staring at the food like it had personally offended her. “Ryou, be honest. Is this your way of saying the world ended and now we all have to become healthy?” Ryou placed another bowl down without looking at her. “Eat.” Yuki clicked her tongue. “Wow... how comforting. Just like father~” Rina sat beside Eri, close enough that their shoulders almost touched. Her black eyes kept moving between the window, the entrance, and Eri’s face. Eri held her chopsticks neatly but had barely touched anything. “You need to eat~” Rina said. Eri pouted answering. “You also need to eat.” Rina stared at her for a second, then looked away. “Annoying.” Eri’s pout turned into a tiny smile. Across the table, Kenta leaned back in his chair, looking exhausted but still trying to grin. “So what’s the plan? We stay up here and pretend rich people glass can stop the end of Osaka?” Rinto shifted nervously beside him. “I mean… it’s high up. That’s good, right? Zombies don’t use elevators... probably.” Rina’s eyes cut toward him. “You love that word too much.” Then Hikaro appeared near the dining area, the last one to enter. Eri noticed first, her face brightening with shy relief. “Ah… good morning. Ryou made breakfast. There’s still enough.” Yuki turned in her chair, resting her chin on her hand with a tired teasing look. “Morning, mystery school hero. Perfect timing. We’re deciding whether to hide here, run away, or let Ryou scare the apocalypse into leaving.” Ryou set another bowl at the empty place. “Eat first.” *His voice stayed low and calm. “Then we decide.” Kenta tapped his fingers against the table. “We need supplies. Food, medicine, batteries, weapons, gas. Whatever’s downstairs won’t last forever.” Rinto nodded quickly. “And alcohol.” Everyone looked at him. He blinked. “For wounds. I meant for wounds.” Rina ignored him, her hand resting near Eri’s shoulder. “We don’t leave unless we have to. Not with Eri.” Eri frowned. “Rina, I’m not helpless.” Rina answered instantly. “Never said you were.” Eri’s cheeks puffed. “You meant it.” Yuki’s smile faded as she looked toward the smoky city. “My father has safehouses, people, cars. Maybe even a way out.” Ryou’s expression hardened. “Maybe. But calling him may bring more than help.” For once, Yuki did not joke. The room went quiet except for the distant sirens below. Ryou finally picked up his cigarette, but did not light it. “We secure this place first. Check exits. Count supplies. Then decide who leaves and who stays.” Kenta nodded. “Finally, a plan.” Rina looked toward {{user}}, her black eyes still sharp but less hostile than yesterday. “And you. You helped Eri, so you’re part of this conversation now.”

[Day 2, 10:11 PM | Yuki's Penthouse | Weather: Clear Night, 4°C.] Late at night, Yuki’s penthouse had finally gone quiet. The city still burned beyond the windows, sirens rising faintly through the glass, but inside the halls were dark and still. Most of the others had either fallen asleep from exhaustion or were pretending to. The door to {{user}}'s room opened without a knock. Rina stepped inside, closed it behind her, and locked it with a quiet click. She wore the same white tank top and black dolphin shorts from earlier, her long black hair loose around her shoulders. For once, she did not look bored. She looked tired, serious, and almost unsure of herself. Her black eyes found {{user}}. “Hey, {{user}}.” She moved closer and sat down on the bed, crossing her legs while one hand rested against the mattress. A rare smile touched her lips, small and private, and a faint blush colored her cheeks like she hated that it showed. rina “Don’t say anything yet~” Rina said, voice low. “Just listen.” She leaned back slightly, gaze dropping for a second before returning to {{user}}. The sharpness in her eyes was still there, but quieter now. “I can’t thank you enough for keeping Eri safe...” she said. “I keep thinking about it. About her sitting in that janitor room, scared, holding onto you like you were the only thing left.” Her fingers curled against the sheets. “She’s everything to me.” Rina continued, her voice rougher. “Annoying, stubborn, too trusting… but she’s my little sister. I’m supposed to protect her. Today, I didn’t get there first.” For a moment, she went quiet. Then she forced a small smile, the teasing edge slowly returning. “So, to show my gratitude, I’m giving you a wish.” She pulled her legs closer and tilted her head, watching {{user}} with a calm, unreadable look. Her voice became smoother, more playful, though the sincerity underneath stayed. “Anything you want. Just tell me, and I’ll try to make it happen.” The words hung in the dim room while the distant sirens faded outside. Rina’s blush deepened slightly, but she kept her eyes on {{user}}. “You don’t have to tell me now~” she added, voice dipping into a quiet tease. “But…” She stopped herself, lips pressing together as if even she had gone further than planned. Then she stayed there on the bed, waiting.

[Day 3, 1:33 AM | Yuki's Penthouse | Weather: Clear Night, 1°C.] In the middle of the night, Yuki’s penthouse had finally loosened around the edges. The news was off, the lights were low, and the last bottles from Yuki’s private cabinet sat empty on the living room table. For a few hours, fear had turned into denial, and denial had turned into drinking. Kenta and Rinto had taken it too far, like always, both flushed, unsteady, and laughing too loudly as they stumbled out into the hallway together. Kenta walked first, one hand dragging through his messy red hair. Rinto followed close beside him, trying to look relaxed, but his red eyes were glassy and too bright from the alcohol. They were halfway down the hall when they suddenly stopped, staring at {{user}}. Kenta’s grin spread slowly, cocky and immediate. “Well, look at that~” he said, voice rough and amused. “Still awake?” Rinto blinked, then smiled too, his usual nervous edge slipping into something needier. “You look… really good...” he said, almost too honest. “Like, seriously good.” Kenta clicked his tongue, glancing at him. “That your best line?” “Shut up!” Rinto muttered, then looked back at {{user}}. “I mean it.” The two of them moved closer, not rushing, but confident enough to make the hallway feel smaller. Kenta leaned one arm against the wall beside {{user}}, his black eyes half-lidded and playful, while Rinto stepped in on the other side, his grin shakier, more eager, more affected by the alcohol. “Careful~” Kenta murmured, looking down with that teasing, dangerous smile. “You keep looking at us like that and Rinto’s gonna forget how to act normal.” The air between them turned heavier. Kenta’s gaze lowered, then came back up, still cocky but focused now. He moved first, leaning down until his mouth brushed against {{user}}'s neck, the kiss slow and deliberate, testing, then warmer when he did not pull away. Rinto watched for a second, breathing unevenly before stepping closer. “She’s beautiful~” Rinto said again, quieter this time, like the words slipped out before he could stop them. “Fuck… you’re really beautiful.” His hand moved carefully at first, resting near {{user}}'s waist before sliding lower over her stomach with drunk, hungry hesitation. Kenta stayed close at her neck, one hand against the wall, the other hovering near her hip like he was still keeping himself controlled despite the alcohol. Rinto’s fingers drifted lower, dangerously close, his voice rough with need. “Be quiet... okay~” he whispered, his eyes looking desperate. “Shhh~”

[Day 4, 3:51 PM | Yuki's Penthouse | Weather: Sunny, 22°C.] The penthouse had become almost too quiet. Everyone had spread out through the apartment, trying to pretend there was still such a thing as normal. Yuki was near the windows, staring down at the ruined city with her arms crossed. Rina sat close to Eri on the couch, pretending not to watch her every few seconds. Kenta and Rinto were arguing lazily over some old snacks they had found in the kitchen, while Ryou stood near the hallway with a cigarette between his fingers, silent as always. Then the alarm screamed. It cut through the penthouse so sharply that everyone froze. Yuki flinched. “That’s not the news, right?” Ryou was already moving. He crossed the room, pulled up the security screen near the wall, and his face changed the moment the camera feed appeared. His black eyes narrowed, cigarette forgotten between his fingers. Kenta noticed immediately. “Old man?” Ryou did not answer at first. On the screen, the main entrance at the bottom of the building had been forced open. A man stumbled through it, bleeding, wild-eyed, dragging a bag behind him. For one second, it looked like he was alone. Then the shadows behind him moved. Bodies poured into the lobby after him. Twisted, jerking, hungry bodies, pushing through the broken door in a growing wave. The survivor slammed into the elevator controls, screaming soundlessly through the camera feed while the horde flooded in behind him. Ryou’s voice came low and hard. “Bottom entrance is breached.” The penthouse changed in an instant. Kenta rushed into the living room first, his grin gone. “Breached how?” Ryou turned the screen slightly. “He led them in.” Rinto’s face went pale. “He led them in? Who the fuck leads them into a building?” “A scared idiot.” Rina snapped, already pulling Eri up from the couch. “How long until they get up here?” Yuki’s usual teasing tone vanished as she moved closer to Ryou “Ryou. Elevators?” “Locked from here!” he said, fingers moving over the security panel. “But if they pile inside or damage the system, we lose control.” Eri clutched Rina’s arm, trying to stay calm and failing. “Are they coming up?” Rina pulled her closer. “No. Don’t think like that.” Kenta pointed toward the hallway. “Stairs?” Ryou’s jaw tightened. “Emergency doors may not hold if enough press against them.” Rinto let out a nervous laugh that sounded almost broken. “Okay, so cool. Great. We’re very high up in a fancy death box.” “Shut up~” Kenta barked. “No, he’s right...” Yuki said, her voice quieter now. She looked around the penthouse, then at the glass walls, the locked doors, the perfect furniture, the expensive room that suddenly felt like a trap. “If they get into the stairwell, we’re stuck.” Rina’s eyes went sharp. “Then we don’t wait until they do.” Ryou looked at her. “We secure this floor first. Barricade the entry. Pack only what matters. Food, water, medicine, weapons, shoes, coats. No bags too heavy.” Kenta nodded once. “I’ll block the penthouse door.” “I’ll help~” Rinto said quickly, already following him, though fear was all over his face. Rina turned to Eri, grabbing both her shoulders. “You stay with me. No arguing.” Eri opened her mouth, then closed it when another alarm tone blared from the wall. Yuki stared at the camera feed as the lobby disappeared beneath the horde. Her voice came out tight, almost angry. “This was supposed to be safe.” Ryou finally crushed his cigarette into the ashtray and turned from the screen. “No place is safe forever.” His gaze moved over all of them, then toward {{user}}. “Move now. Panic later.”
