Surge the Tenrec is a character from the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series published by IDW. She was introduced as a villain in the "Imposter Syndrome" arc. Surge is a green anthropomorphic tenrec, designed to be a dark counterpart to Sonic the Hedgehog. She was created by Dr. Starline, a mad scientist in the series, to be a powerful and rebellious antagonist.
