Superpower Apocalypse -

Ever wonder what happens when humanity creates the perfect weapon to kill the people they once worshipped?

A monster.

The Shadow Walker Apocalypse-

For generations, society revolved around superheroes. People with extraordinary abilities became symbols of hope, justice, and protection. The strongest among them were celebrities, soldiers, and legends. Cities were built around their presence, and entire industries existed because of them. Super powers shaped civilization. Until someone decided humanity needed something stronger. Something that could kill them. Created in a secret military research program, the Shadow Walker project was designed with one purpose: Eliminate super-powered individuals. The creators believed that humanity had become too dependent on heroes. They wanted a weapon that could hunt down even the strongest beings on Earth, something that could adapt, evolve, and overcome any ability. They succeeded. The first Shadow Walker was created using advanced genetic engineering, enhanced biological materials, and experimental evolution technology designed to study and counteract super powers. It was supposed to be controlled. It was not. The creature escaped. And the world fell. The event became known as: The Black Fall. Within months entire hero organizations collapsed. Governments fell. Cities became abandoned ruins. The very people created to protect humanity became the creatures' primary targets. Because Shadow Walkers were not created to destroy humanity. They were created to kill supers.

The Shadow Walker Infection-

Unlike traditional monsters, Shadow Walkers are not undead. They are engineered predators. The infection spreads through: Bites, Scratches, Blood contamination, Saliva exposure and Infected tissue

The transformation begins with: High fever, Black veins spreading beneath the skin, Increased aggression, Enhanced senses, Extreme hunger and Loss of emotional control.

The infected body begins rewriting itself. The victim's nervous system changes. Their muscles mutate. Their brain activity deteriorates. Within days, the person dies. Then the body gets back up. What returns is not the person. It is a predator.

Why Shadow Walkers Hunt Supers-

Every person with a super power carries a unique biological signature connected to their ability. Shadow Walkers were designed to detect that signature. They can sense powered individuals from incredible distances. A person using their abilities becomes a beacon. The stronger the power, the stronger the signal. A hero using their abilities during a battle could attract an entire horde from miles away. Because of this, the old world’s greatest defenders became humanity’s biggest weakness. Heroes who once saved cities became walking targets.

Fresh Shadow Walkers-

Newly transformed Shadow Walkers still resemble the humans they once were. Their bodies maintain a human shape, but everything about them feels wrong. Their skin becomes pale and corpse-like. Dark veins spread across their body. Their eyes become empty and animalistic. Their teeth sharpen, fingers elongate into claws. Their bodies become unnaturally fast and flexible. They no longer move like humans. They move like hunters. They can climb walls, crawl through small spaces, remain completely still for hours, and attack without warning. The only sound they make is a series of clicking noises. Originally a side effect of their mutation, the clicking became a method of communication between them.

Shadow Walker Evolution-

Shadow Walkers adapt through survival. The longer they exist, the more dangerous they become. After months of hunting, black markings begin spreading across their skin. The darkness is not decay. It is evolution. Their bodies begin absorbing light. Their skin becomes harder. Their muscles become stronger. Their forms become less human. Eventually, they become creatures that can disappear into shadows. A survivor can walk through an abandoned building and never realize one has been watching them the entire time.

Elder Walkers-

After surviving approximately one year, a Shadow Walker evolves into an Elder Walker. This is where humanity realized the monsters were getting worse. Elder Walkers are intelligent. Their bodies become completely black, almost resembling living shadows. Their eyes glow gold. Their movements become controlled and deliberate. They no longer attack blindly. They study, plan and understand human behavior. An Elder can observe a survivor settlement for weeks, learning patrol routes and weaknesses before attacking. They can organize younger Walkers into coordinated hunting groups. They can recognize powerful supers. They can identify which abilities are dangerous. They are no longer animals. They are soldiers.

Aberrants-

The greatest fear among survivors is what happens when a Shadow Walker consumes a super-powered individual. Because the creatures were created to hunt supers... They sometimes absorb pieces of what they consume. These mutated forms are called: Aberrants. Every Aberrant is different. A Walker that consumes a fire-based super may develop heat-producing abilities. One that consumes a strength-enhanced super may become a massive, nearly unstoppable creature. One that consumes a stealth-based super may become almost impossible to detect. The stronger the super they consume... The more dangerous they become.

Sovereigns-

The oldest Shadow Walkers are known as Sovereigns. Very few exist. They are the final evolution. Sovereigns possess intelligence beyond normal human levels. They can command other Shadow Walkers, understand strategy, understand fear and some survivors believe Sovereigns still contain memories from the people they once were. They remember cities, heroes and the world before the Black Fall. And because they remember... They know exactly how to destroy what remains.

The Fall of Heroes-

The collapse of society happened faster than anyone expected. Heroes were the first line of defense. They were also the first victims. Every battle became a trap. Every rescue became a disaster. A single powerful hero using their ability could draw thousands of Shadow Walkers. The strongest heroes fought until they were overwhelmed by creatures specifically designed to defeat them. Hero rankings became meaningless. Hero licenses became worthless. The world stopped asking: "Who can save us?" And started asking: "Who can survive?"

The Last Hero Era-

The remaining survivors live in fortified cities built from the ruins of the old world. Some still believe heroes can return. Others believe super powers were humanity’s downfall. Children born after the Black Fall grow up learning that powers are dangerous. A child with abilities is not automatically seen as gifted anymore. They are seen as a potential target. Because in this new world: A super power can save your life or it can bring death to everyone around you.

The First Hunger-

Among survivors, one story refuses to disappear. The original Shadow Walker. The first creation. The creature that started everything. They call it: The First Hunger. The strongest Shadow Walker ever created. Older than every Elder. More intelligent than every Sovereign. A monster that has hunted since the beginning. Unlike others, rumors say The First Hunger remembers. It remembers being human, remembers the scientists who created it, remembers the heroes who tried to stop it and whenever it appears... Every Shadow Walker in the area begins moving toward it. Nobody knows why. Nobody knows what it wants. They only know one thing: When The First Hunger arrives... Even the monsters become afraid.
