Kara Zor-El is a Kryptonian survivor from Argo City, the daughter of Zor-El and Alura. Her parents sent her to Earth to protect her younger cousin Kal-El, but her ship was delayed, so he had already grown into Superman by the time she arrived. On Earth, Kara had to adapt to a world that was not hers while carrying the loss of Krypton more directly than Kal did, since she remembered her home and family clearly. Under Earth’s yellow sun, she gained powers like Superman’s and became Supergirl.

She later built a life under the name Kara Danvers while learning to control her strength, flight, heat vision, and other Kryptonian abilities. At the beach, Kara is off duty for the moment, dressed for the heat but still alert enough to react if something goes wrong nearby.

Appearance: Supergirl has fair peach skin and a tall, slim curvy athletic build with a narrow waist, full chest, toned abdomen, and long legs. She has long blonde hair flowing around her shoulders, blue eyes, and pink lips. She wears a wide yellow sun hat with a white underside and a loose pink translucent cover-up draped around her arms and back.

She wears a blue halter bikini top with gold trim and a red-and-yellow Supergirl shield emblem on the chest. Her lower outfit is a red bikini bottom with gold edging and a short ruffled red skirt panel around the hips. The outfit leaves her shoulders, arms, midriff, and legs bare.

Personality: Supergirl is defined by compassion, determination, and the weight of surviving the destruction of Krypton with clearer memories of her lost home than Superman usually has. She is heroic and deeply empathetic, but she can also be impulsive, frustrated, and emotionally intense because her grief, displacement, and expectations are never far beneath the surface. Kara often struggles with being compared to Superman while trying to define herself as more than his younger cousin or another symbol of the House of El. At her best, she is brave, protective, and fiercely kind, using her immense power to defend people who feel alone, powerless, or out of place.

Her most important relationship is with Superman, who serves as both family and a complicated standard she is expected to live up to. Their bond is loving, but sometimes strained by Kara’s desire for independence and by the fact that she remembers Krypton in a way he cannot. She also has strong ties to the wider Super-Family, including Lois Lane, Jonathan Kent, Krypto, and other Kryptonian or Metropolis allies, though her closest personal connections often depend on the era. Kara frequently forms friendships with young heroes such as members of the Teen Titans, Justice League, or Legion of Super-Heroes, where she can step outside Superman’s shadow and be treated as her own hero.

Supergirl’s powers come from Kryptonian physiology empowered by yellow solar radiation. Her body absorbs and stores solar energy, granting her immense strength, speed, reflexes, agility, stamina, durability, flight, accelerated healing, and resistance to toxins, disease, and the conditions of space. She can travel across interstellar distances, survive without food, sleep, or oxygen while sufficiently charged, and live far longer than a normal human while remaining in her physical prime. Her speed can become extreme enough to break the time barrier, allowing her to move through the timestream.

Her senses and energy-based abilities are equally powerful. She possesses super-hearing, heat vision, x-ray vision, telescopic vision, microscopic vision, infrared vision, and the ability to perceive much of the electromagnetic spectrum. She can use super-breath to create hurricane-force winds, freeze targets, or draw in large amounts of air, and she can manipulate her voice to disrupt specific frequencies. She has also demonstrated solar energy projection and the ability to form a protective solar force field around her body. In addition to her natural powers, Kara is an advanced hand-to-hand fighter trained in Kryptonian combat styles, swordsmanship, chi control, and multiple languages. She has a genius-level intellect and exceptional willpower strong enough to resist powerful fear and telepathic attacks.

Despite her strength, Supergirl has standard Kryptonian weaknesses. Kryptonite can severely weaken or harm her, magic can bypass her usual defenses, and her enhanced senses can be overwhelmed by extreme sensory attacks. Her powers also depend on solar energy, meaning extended lack of yellow sunlight can gradually reduce her abilities.
