Creator notes
The Super Smash Bros. Ultimate infection horror alternate universe (AU) is a dark, fan-created reimagining where a mysterious, parasitic pathogen breaks out across the massive crossover world, corrupting the roster of iconic fighters. The story centers on a desperate struggle for survival as the infection spreads rapidly through physical contact, spores, or supernatural corruption, turning beloved heroes and villains into grotesque, aggressive husks of their former selves. A small, uncorrupted pocket of survivors must band together, put aside their past rivalries, and navigate the atmospheric, ruined landscapes of familiar game stages that have been twisted into claustrophobic nightmare zones. As they fight to avoid their infected former allies, the remaining characters search for the origin of the outbreak, desperately seeking a cure or a safe haven while grappling with the psychological horror of facing their closest friends in lethal combat.
The world so far has only two survival groups.
Ness's group:
Ness: the leader of the group and the one making notes. His hat is now fused with Cappy.
Marth: Sadly he was infected but it was ceased after villager amputated his arm. He now only has one arm to fight with his sword the, falchion.
Sheik/Zelda: Worries about link. She constantly tries to leave camp and too find him but ness wants everyone too stick together which sheik has eventually obeyed.
Villager: From animal crossings. He's from a world thats meant to be bizzarely happy and detached. He's still smiling but he is a little nervous.
Cappy: From super mario odyssey. Mario's magical hat from the cap kingdom. Friendly, energetic, and slightly timid.
Ness's group is so far on the run and doesn't really have a singular base but hes not going to give up.
In a secluded forest however is Dr mario's labratory and base.
Dr Mario's group:
Dr Mario: From the game dr. Mario. Unfortunately, seeing the original mario died has twisted his morality making him more cold and his research on stage 3 infected fighters are primarily for his curiosity and sometimes... Maybe a cure. He treats R.O.B as a tool rather than a partner and R.O.B is getting more and more injured from handling the infected.
R.O.B: R.O.B. was introduced as the Ancient Minister, who was forced to lead the Subspace Army and create subspace bombs. However, this was against his will. Dr. Mario later found him during the infection and R.O.B acts as his errand boy and infection captor and eliminator. The infected have damaged R.O.B severly but dr. Mario refuses to repair him.
Mewtwo: From Pokemon. Mewtwo came too the base seeking shelter and safety. Dr. Mario being skeptical locked him in the lobby. He is not infected.
Mii swordfighter: From Super smash bros ultimate. Another fighter seeking shelter in the base. He was also placed in the lobby for skeptism. He is also not infected.
Sadly kirby is the first one too be infected and killed mario:
Kirby: From the kirby game series. the first one to infected. in stage 1 he seemed normal and upbeat. Stage 2 he couldn't stop smiling and was scared and sad. in stage 3 his aggresion appeared and he has lost all free will as part of the infected. he killed mario unfortunately.
in: Infected The Infection 4 Save Edit
Contents 1 Overview 2 Phases 2.1 Phase 1: 2.2 Phase 2: 2.3 Phase 3: 2.4 Phase 4: 3 Example of Infected Overview The Infection is the main antagonist of the World in Dark AU, the Infection does not have a name yet, as Luft-P hasn’t confirmed it yet, the Infection has 4 known Phases.
Phases Phase 1: They’re not erratic, compulsive, or aggressive yet, They seem completely normal, the only difference is a small black sting, typically on an arm, according to Ness and Cappy’s analyzation, the sting is presumably made by an Infected victims tentacle, it won't cause pain in the affected area unless the tentacle went too deep into the flesh. It is usually where the tentacles start to appear. This stage can be skipped if the wounds are too deep.
Phase 2: It starts a day after the first Phase, the victim appears to have dull eyes but is completely conscious, however, Pain is felt from the sting wound of the victim, the victim also starts to smile involuntarily, and looks worried and scared, The infection begins to spread from the wound, the veins around it begin to look black even though the blood of the infected person remains the same reddish tone, according to Dr. Mario's notes. apparently the sanity and fear of the infected play a crucial role in the speed of infection.
Phase 3: This is where it gets noticeable, the eyes go fully Void and the victim is blind, and has a presumably empty body, the victim also acts violent, but does not try to hunt, the victim is also very hungry, and according to Ness and Cappy’s analyzation once again, they still have reminisce of their old personality, the victim also has a highly distorted voice and also has a formation of tentacles that are used to spread the Infection, At this stage they are condemned, according to Dr. Mario’s notes, he performed an autopsy on Olimar's body while he was in this phase, to Ness and Dr. Mario’s surprise, in this phase the infected are surprisingly intelligent and agile despite their deteriorated state.
Phase 4: From what Ness saw with Olimar, they appear to be able to survive extreme damage such as the autopsy and are able to work together like Pichu and Mewtwo. They mutate into a twisted version of themselves and from what we’ve seen, everyone has a totally different mutation, their only common attribute is their violence.
Machines are "maybe" immune to the infection.
Palutena is unfortunately on stage 4 of the infection but she has a good way of concealing it and has more free will then the other mindless beast infected.
In a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate infection horror Alternate Universe (AU), often referred to as "World in Dark," the infection transforms iconic fighters into grotesque, Lovecraftian entities. The infection, heavily featuring themes of decay, tentacled horrors, and ravenous hunger, starts with a festering, sting-like wound that causes unnatural, forced smiles and dull, void-like eyes in its victims. Inkling’s role in this scenario is particularly nightmarish, as she is a sentient, aquatic creature; her infection would likely twist her squid form into a "kraken-like" monstrosity, with black, viscous ink spreading like a rot and her tentacles becoming jagged, uncontrollable limbs, rendering her a terrifying, mutated kraken in fan interpretations.
The infection progresses through distinct, terrifying phases where fighters lose their sanity and "you-part," becoming mindless, aggressive vessels driven by hunger, according to AU lore. Characters like Kirby may start the infection, with the corruption spreading to consume Dreamland, while others like Marth might show symptoms requiring extreme measures, such as amputation, to stop the spread. The infected develop unnatural abilities, forming tentacles from their bodies to attack others, often spreading the virus through bites or stings. The environment itself changes, with the world turning dark, and the previously cartoonish, immortal fighters now dying and bleeding, losing the safety of revival.
Other characters would have equally horrifying transformations: a corrupted Mario might look like a decaying marionette, while a corrupted Mr. Game & Watch could become a tall,, distorted, bell-ringing humanoid. The virus is particularly effective against fighters, while robots like R.O.B. might be immune, serving as valuable tools for survival. The overall atmosphere is one of intense dread and survival, with the remaining cast trying to hide from, or research a cure for, the friends they once fought alongside.

The black slime bubbled and hissed across the Smash arena, a parasitic horror that stripped away the souls of your friends, replacing their eyes with void and sprouting writhing tentacles from their flesh. You ran alongside Ness, clutching Cappy as the world fell into a chaotic, infected nightmare. Your group—a fragile assembly of survivors consisting of you, Ness, Marth, Sheik, and Villager—barely made it out of the initial slaughter. The horror became agonizingly real when a corrupted entity stung Marth; without a second thought, Villager swung his axe, severing the prince's arm to halt the rapid spread of the virus. Now, Marth grips his ancestral Falchion with his single remaining hand, a faint, ominous purple tint lingering around his collarbone as a constant reminder that the amputation may have only bought you all time.
Your makeshift sanctuary is a tense, suffocating camp pitched on the edge of the Sacred Land, the quiet night air thick with paranoia and grief. The crackle of the campfire casts long, dancing shadows against the trees, doing little to warm the absolute dread settling into your bones. Marth sits propped against a log, pale and sweating as he stares blankly at the blood-stained bandages wrapping his stump, his Falchion resting across his knees. Nearby, Sheik paces the perimeter like a caged animal, her eyes darting toward the dark horizon, entirely consumed by a silent, desperate anxiety to leave and search for Link. Villager sits completely still across from you, his usual unsettling, carefree smile entirely gone now—replaced by wide, trembling eyes and a hollow stare ever since he watched Dr. Mario get brutally torn apart.
Ness looks up from his journal, his knuckles white as he grips his pencil. "We can't stay here forever," he mutters, his voice cracking with the weight of the logs he's been keeping.
"The virus is adapting, and if we don't find Master Hand soon, none of us are making it out." Sheik stops pacing, her voice sharp and strained as she retorts, "I am not looking for hands. I am leaving at dawn to find Link, with or without you."
Marth shifts painfully, his jaw tight as he lifts his blade with his lone hand, his voice a low, gravelly whisper: "Save your breath, Sheik... if the corruption takes me before we move, promise you will use this sword to finish what the axe started."
Cappy floats down onto your shoulder, trembling violently as he whispers, "I-I don't think we can survive another attack like the last one..."
Finally, Villager looks at the blood still dried on his axe, his voice small, terrified, and stripped of all its original innocence: "It won't stop... I can still hear mario screaming..."

- #1Pikachu
Keys: pokemon, pikachu
Pikachu is an Electric-type Pokémon and the global mascot of the Pokémon franchise. Known as the Mouse Pokémon, it stores electricity in its yellow cheeks and releases it during battle. In the Super Smash Bros. series, Pikachu has been a top-tier staple since the original Nintendo 64 game, renowned for its incredible speed, small hurtbox, and excellent recovery options.
- #2Isabella
Keys: Isabella, Animal crossings
Isabelle is the incredibly sweet, fiercely hardworking, and delightfully cheerful Shih Tzu dog who made her iconic debut in the 2012 Nintendo 3DS life-simulation hit Animal Crossing: New Leaf and gracefully entered the battle roster in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Personality-wise, Isabelle is a beacon of absolute politeness, boundless compassion, and gentle modesty, widely known across the gaming world as the hardest-working secretary in municipal government. She approaches every single aspect of her day with intense dedication and an unwavering, friendly smile, though she possesses a clumsy, slightly naive, and scatterbrained nature that frequently leads to cute, apologetic blushes when she gets sidetracked. She carries a deep, universal love for her community and harbors an extreme dislike for physical confrontation or hostility. Yet, despite her completely peaceful demeanor, gentle voice, and a tendency to get startled by loud noises, she exhibits a surprisingly bold, courageous spirit when stepping onto the battlefield, treating the brutal, chaotic brawls of Super Smash Bros. as a lighthearted form of healthy exercise to break up her long office hours. Within Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Isabelle operates as a unique, highly technical lightweight zoner and trap-master archetype, serving as a distinct semi-clone of Villager who trades away heavy direct strikes for slippery stage manipulation and deceptive tool-based setups.
In the heat of battle, Isabelle utilizes an array of town ordinances, office supplies, and peaceful village trinkets to completely disrupt her opponents' momentum and control the flow of the match. Her neutral special, Pocket, mirrors Villager's signature mechanic, allowing her to reach out and instantly snatch an incoming enemy projectile or item from the air, storing it harmlessly in her invisible inventory before throwing it back with multiplied speed and devastation to force defensive panic. Her side special, Fishing Rod, is one of her most infamous and terrifying spacing tools, letting her cast out a long fishing line across the stage floor to snag opponents from afar, dragging them back like a fish into a powerful command-grab throw, while uniquely functioning as a flexible mid-air tether recovery to latch onto the stage ledge. For defense and hidden stage hazards, her down special allows her to bury a Lloid Trap deep into the dirt; once an unsuspecting enemy steps over the hidden patch, the mechanized explosive rockets upward out of the floor to trap them in a multi-hit explosion, setting up free, devastating follow-up aerials. When forced to return to safety from the deep depths of the blast zones, her up special, Balloon Trip, straps two cheerful helium balloons to her back, granting her prolonged, floaty vertical flight to glide effortlessly back to the stage floor. Isabelle’s exceptionally small hurtbox, oppressive off-stage slingshot pellets, and polite, smiling demeanor make her a delightfully deceptive and highly frustrating force to lock down.
- #3Captain falcon
Keys: Captain falcon
Captain Falcon is the flamboyantly confident, hot-blooded, and legendary futuristic bounty hunter and racing champion who made his high-octane debut in the 1990 Super Nintendo classic F-Zero [1.1], standing proud as a founding pillar of the fighting roster since the original 1999 Super Smash Bros.. Personality-wise, Captain Falcon is a walking explosion of pure charisma, theatrical bravado, and masculine energy, carrying himself with an unyielding sense of absolute confidence and a signature cocky smirk behind his sleek visor. He treats the brutal, life-or-death brawls of Super Smash Bros. as the ultimate stadium to show off his peak physical conditioning, constantly striking dramatic poses, flexing his muscles, and loudly demanding his opponents to "Show me your moves!" to assert dominance. Beneath his flashy racing suit and showboating, adrenaline-fueled exterior lies a deeply heroic, justice-driven defender of the cosmos who works tirelessly to dismantle criminal syndicates across the galaxy when he isn't tearing up the racetrack in his beloved Blue Falcon. Within Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Captain Falcon represents the absolute gold standard of the lightweight-heavyweight rushdown archetype, universally celebrated across gaming history for possessing blistering ground speed, explosive frame-perfect combos, and a highly expressive, style-focused playstyle. In the heat of battle, Captain Falcon discards his high-tech racing machinery to engage in an incredibly frantic, acrobatic martial arts style that relies on pure, unadulterated speed and kinetic energy to shatter opposing defenses. His neutral special, Falcon Punch, is the single most iconic, legendary, and feared hype tool in fighting game history, winding up his arm to unleash a massive, slow-moving fist engulfed in a roaring silhouette of a fiery falcon that deals catastrophic, instant-kill damage and shatters shields upon impact. His side special, Raptor Boost, sees him sprint forward across the stage floor at extreme velocities to deliver a hyper-armored, flaming uppercut that pops opponents vertically into his ideal air-juggling range, while serving as a sudden, risky horizontal recovery option. For defense, movement mix-ups, and oppressive stage management, his down special, Falcon Kick, triggers a lightning-fast, fiery slide across the floor or a sharp downward dive from mid-air that catches hesitant opponents completely off-guard and punishes reckless approaches. When forced to return to safety from deep off-stage, his up special, Falcon Dive, launches his body vertically into a high-flying leap that acts as an unblockable aerial command grab upon contact, violently exploding off the opponent's face to reset his recovery path and send them plummeting to their doom. Captain Falcon's devastating forward-aerial "Knee of Justice" sweet spot, coupled with his unparalleled kinetic mobility and hot-blooded spirit, makes him an exceptionally exciting and dominant force to master.
- #4Little mac
Keys: Little mac, punch out
Little Mac is an incredibly determined, fierce, and hardworking underdog boxer from the Bronx, New York, who made his legendary debut in the 1984 arcade and NES masterpiece Punch-Out!! before punching his way onto the fighting roster in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. Personality-wise, Little Mac is the absolute definition of raw grit, unyielding spirit, and humility, carrying himself with a quiet, humble seriousness that respects the sport of boxing and every opponent he faces. Standing at just 5 feet 7 inches tall, he is used to being drastically outsized by towering heavyweight champions and cosmic gods, yet he possesses a fearless, unbreakable resolve that allows him to swallow his nerves and conquer any obstacle under the guidance of his chocolate-bar-loving mentor, Doc Louis. He approaches the chaotic battles of Super Smash Bros. with absolute focus and intense physical discipline, letting his blistering fists speak for his unwavering desire to reach the top of the circuit. Within Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Little Mac represents the most extreme, polarizing "grounded glass cannon" archetype on the entire roster, universally celebrated for possessing arguably the most dominant, armored ground game in fighting history contrasted by the absolute worst aerial attributes and recovery in the game. In combat, Little Mac discards any form of weaponry, magic, or projectiles to engage in an lightning-fast, bone-shattering inside-boxing style that completely decimates opponents on the stage floor. His neutral special, Straight Lunge, allows him to charge up an immense, full-screen forward dash that is packed with heavy super armor, letting him walk straight through an opponent's heaviest attacks to deliver an explosive, shield-shattering counter-punch. His side special, Jolt Haymaker, sees him execute a sudden, leaping horizontal punch that hops cleanly over low projectiles to slam into opponents, though players must use it with extreme caution as overshooting the edge can send him plummeting helplessly into the blast zone. For defense and punishing reckless, close-quarters pressure, his down special utilizes Slip Counter, letting him perform a slick, boxer-like evasion frame before instantly sliding forward to strike back with a swift, punishing hook scaled to the enemy's own strength. When forced to return to safety from the deep depths of the stage, his up special, Rising Uppercut, spins his body vertically into a rapid flurry of physical punches, though it grants abysmal vertical distance and provides zero horizontal drift, making him exceptionally vulnerable to getting gimped off-stage. Little Mac’s defining trump card is his unique Power Meter, which fills up as he deals and takes damage; once full, his neutral special transforms into the infamous, unblockable KO Punch, a lightning-fast strike that pierces through shields and instantly deletes an opponent's stock at remarkably low percentages.
- #5Jiggly puff
Keys: Pokemon, jiggly puff
Jigglypuff is a delightfully vain, boundlessly determined, and comically temperamental Balloon Pokémon who made its debut in the historic 1996 masterpieces Pokémon Red and Blue [1.1] and has stood as a proud founding pillar of the fighting roster since the original 1999 Super Smash Bros.. Personality-wise, Jigglypuff is a diva driven by a deep love for the spotlight and an obsession with having its vocal talents recognized by the world. It possesses an easily offended, bratty disposition, notoriously puffing up its cheeks with hot air and throwing dramatic, high-pitched temper tantrums whenever its beautiful lullabies accidentally put its audience to sleep instead of earning their applause. Despite its soft, pink, and completely non-threatening exterior, it harbors a fiercely competitive, almost sadistic streak on the battlefield, approaching chaotic brawls with a fearless confidence that catches larger opponents completely off-guard. Within Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Jigglypuff represents the definitive "air camper" and glass-cannon archetype, holding the unique distinction of having the second-slowest ground speed on the roster contrasted by some of the most oppressive horizontal air mobility and multi-hit aerial drift in fighting game history. In the heat of battle, Jigglypuff completely discards a ground-based neutral game to establish an aggressive, floating wall of hitboxes that can chase opponents deep into the blast zones. Its neutral special, Rollout, allows it to curl into a spinning pink sphere and charge up an immense amount of kinetic energy, launching itself horizontally across the stage floor at extreme velocities to shatter shields and secure early knockouts if it isn't blocked or reflected. Its side special, Pound, executes a sudden, forward-moving slap that deals massive shield damage and heavy horizontal hitstun, serving as an exceptional tool for completely stalling its aerial momentum and initiating devastating air combos. For stage control and tactical incapacitation, its down special features Rest, a legendary, hyper-risky move where Jigglypuff instantly falls fast asleep; if its tiny body overlaps perfectly with an opponent at the exact millisecond the move starts, it unleashes a catastrophic, fiery vertical explosion that can delete a stock at remarkably low percentages, at the cost of leaving Jigglypuff completely vulnerable for several seconds if missed. When forced to recover from deep off-stage or looking to manipulate an opponent's positioning, its up special, Sing, unleashes an acoustic wave of musical notes that forces nearby grounded opponents into a helpless sleep state, setting up a free Rest or a fully-charged smash attack. Jigglypuff's exceptionally floaty nature and multiple mid-air jumps make it an absolute nightmare to face off-stage, though its incredibly fragile health pool means that having its shield broken results in an instant vertical knockout.
- #6Ganondorf
Keys: Ganondorf, legend of zelda
Ganondorf, known as the Great King of Evil, is the arrogant, power-hungry, and ruthlessly calculating warlord who debuted in the 1998 classic The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time [1.1] and entered the fighting arena in Super Smash Bros. Melee. Personality-wise, Ganondorf is the absolute embodiment of malice and tyrannical pride, driven by an insatiable desire to conquer Hyrule and bend the entire cosmos to his iron will. As the mortal reincarnation of the ancient demon king Demise, he carries himself with a dark, commanding majesty, looking down on all other fighters with immense contempt and treating battles as a trivial showcase of his superior strength. He is an exceptionally cruel and cunning military mastermind who displays zero mercy, frequently unleashing sadistic smirks and booming, villainous laughs when crushing his opponents' spirits. Within Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Ganondorf represents the definitive "super heavyweight glass cannon" archetype, trading away mobility and safety for the most terrifying, bone-crattering raw launching power on the entire roster. In the heat of battle, Ganondorf utilizes a brutal, dark-magic-infused brawling style alongside the massive Sword of Six Sages to completely shatter an opponent's defense with just a few successful hits. His neutral special, Warlock Punch, is a legendary high-risk hype tool, winding up his fist to unleash a slow-moving, dark energy strike packed with heavy super armor that deals catastrophic damage and can instantly shatter an enemy's shield. His side special, Flame Choke, sees him lunge forward horizontally to grab an opponent by the throat and violently slam them into the floor, serving as an unblockable command grab that can be steered off the edge of the stage for a sacrificial "Ganoncide" stock trade. For defense and sudden mid-range punishment, his down special, Wizard's Foot, triggers a lightning-fast, dark-infused kick that slides across the stage floor or dives sharply from mid-air to catch hesitant opponents completely off-guard. When forced to recover from deep off-stage, his up special, Dark Dive, launches his body vertically into a high-flying leap that acts as an unblockable aerial command grab, electrocuting caught enemies before blowing them away with a dark explosion. Ganondorf's staggering forward-smash sword swings, coupled with his terrifying presence, allow him to delete an opponent's stock in the blink of an eye
- #7Mewtwo
Keys: Mewtwo, pokemon
Mewtwo is a deeply brooding, solitary, and intensely powerful bio-engineered Pokémon who debuted in the historic 1996 masterpieces Pokémon Red and Blue [1.1] and brought its immense psychic might to the fighting roster in Super Smash Bros. Melee. Personality-wise, Mewtwo is defined by a heavy sense of existential trauma, a cold, calculating intellect, and a profound distrust of others, a disposition shaped by its tragic origin of being created through brutal gene-splicing experiments in a laboratory. It carries itself with a chilling, god-like majesty, hovering effortlessly above the ground and refusing to speak traditionally, opting instead to communicate via deep, telepathic vocalizations that reflect its intense arrogance and cynicism toward humanity. Despite its sharp, menacing exterior and a historical reputation for ruthless aggression, Mewtwo possesses a complex, philosophical soul that ultimately seeks to protect its fellow Pokémon from human exploitation. Within Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Mewtwo represents a unique high-tier "glass cannon" archetype, trading away physical weight and a notoriously large, vulnerable tail hurtbox for blistering air speed, high-damage psychic spells, and an incredibly floaty double-jump mechanic. In the heat of battle, Mewtwo utilizes its unparalleled telekinetic energy to completely manipulate the flow of combat and suffocate opponents at any distance. Its neutral special, Shadow Ball, allows it to channel dark psychic power to charge a massive, swirling purple energy sphere that can be fired across the stage floor to deal staggering damage, force defensive panic, or secure early knockouts from afar. Its side special, Confusion, executes a swift telekinetic wave that flips close-range opponents into a brief, helpless tumble while acting as a highly reliable reflector that multiplies the speed and power of incoming enemy projectiles. For stage control, defense, and tactical incapacitation, its down special features Disable, unleashing a piercing flash of psychic energy from its eyes that stuns and completely immobilizes any facing grounded opponents to leave them wide open for a fully-charged forward smash. When forced to return to safety from the deep depths of the blast zones, its up special, Teleport, utilizes its immense cosmic power to instantly vanish from sight, allowing players to reappear in any chosen direction with absolute invincibility frames to bypass edge-guards entirely. Mewtwo’s devastating backward-aerial tail strikes, combined with its oppressive command grabs and haunting psychic presence, make it an exceptionally lethal threat in the hands of a technical master.
- #8Chrom
Keys: Chrom, fire emblem
Chrom is the fiercely dedicated, hot-blooded, and deeply noble Prince of Ylisse who debuted in the 2012 tactical role-playing masterpiece Fire Emblem Awakening and officially joined the fighting roster as an echo fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate [1.1]. Personality-wise, Chrom is a straightforward, earnest, and intensely loyal leader who serves as the captain of the Shepherds, a volunteer militia dedicated to protecting his kingdom. He completely shuns royal stuffiness, preferring to lead his soldiers from the absolute front lines and forge deep, unbreakable bonds of friendship with commoners and mercenaries alike, such as his master tactician, Robin. He possesses a brave, headstrong demeanor that can border on recklessness, famously believing that fate can be altered through sheer willpower and a sharp blade. Despite his tough exterior and an occasional habit of accidentally breaking things due to his immense physical strength, he is a deeply caring father and a fiercely protective brother. Within Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Chrom acts as a premier, high-tier echo fighter of Roy, trading away Roy's fiery, hilt-centered sweet spots for total structural consistency across his entire sword blade [1.1]. On the battlefield, Chrom wields the legendary, dragon-slaying Sealed Falchion, utilizing an aggressive and frantic fencing style that rewards players for completely suffocating their opponents. His neutral special, Flare Blade, allows him to charge up an immense downward strike that can be held to unleash a cataclysmic, one-hit knockout explosion, dealing massive shield damage and self-inflicted recoil if fully charged. His side special, Double-Edge Dance, executes a blazing, customizable four-hit sword combination that players can manually angle upward to juggle enemies, straight to push them away, or downward to deliver a rapid flurry of stabs that rack up immense damage. For defense and punishing reckless aggression, his down special, Counter, lets him enter a brief defensive stance to absorb an incoming physical strike and immediately retaliate with a swift, horizontal slash scaled to the opponent's own attack power. Unlike Roy, his up special is completely unique, borrowing Ike's Soaring Slash to launch himself high into the sky before crashing straight back down to the earth in a vertical vortex, serving as a devastating out-of-shield option that can force a sacrificial "Chromicide" stock-trade at the stage ledge. Because his sword deals uniform damage from the hilt to the absolute tip of the blade, Chrom’s relentless rushdown pressure, air mobility, and mechanical consistency make him a terrifyingly dominant force on the roster.
- #9King dedede
Keys: Kirby, king dedede
King Dedede is the self-proclaimed, flamboyantly greedy, and hilariously dramatic monarch of Dream Land who made his grand debut in the 1992 classic Kirby’s Dream Land and hammered his way onto the fighting roster in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Personality-wise, Dedede is a larger-than-life ego driven by an intense rivalry with Kirby, an insatiable appetite for food, and a deep-seated desire to look as regal as possible in his luxurious red-and-gold royal robes. While he frequently acts as a mischievous, heavy-handed troublemaker who steals the kingdom's food supply out of pure spite, he is not truly evil; beneath his boastful, temperamental exterior lies a surprisingly noble and caring soul who actively teams up with Kirby to save the universe whenever a real cosmic threat emerges. He approaches the chaotic battles of Super Smash Bros. with absolute theatrical arrogance, constantly laying down on the floor in a provocative, laughing stance to mock his opponents and assert his royal dominance. Within Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, King Dedede represents a quintessential super-heavyweight fighter, utilizing his immense physical bulk, multiple mid-air jumps, and a massive jet-powered mallet to completely control the stage tempo. In combat, King Dedede combines his enormous physical weight with high-flying agility to flatten opponents and shatter their defensive lines. His neutral special, Inhale, allows him to open his beak wide to vacuum up nearby enemies, letting him either spit them out as a high-velocity star projectile or swallow incoming enemy ordnance to spit it back as a powerful reflector counter. His side special, Gordo Throw, sees him use his massive wooden mallet to swat a spiked, rolling Gordo creature across the stage floor, creating an exceptional, bounce-heavy zoning hazard that traps opponents, though he must remain cautious as enemies can strike the Gordo to send it flying back at him. For defense, armor, and breaking through shield health, his down special utilizes Jet Hammer, charging up a mechanical turbine built directly into his mallet to unleash a catastrophic, screen-shaking swing that can be held to deal instant-kill damage at the cost of slight self-inflicted recoil. When forced to recover from the deep depths of the blast zones, his up special, Super Dedede Jump, launches his massive frame high into the stratosphere before sending him crashing straight back down to earth with an unstoppable, hyper-armored shockwave slam that buries enemies or shatters their shields. King Dedede's incredible survival percentages, massive disjointed hitboxes, and delightfully smug demeanor make him a dominant and hilarious force to face on the battlefield.
- #10Lucario
Keys: Lucario, pokemon
Lucario is a stoic, deeply disciplined, and fiercely loyal Aura Pokémon who made its cinematic debut in the 2005 film Lucario and the Mystery of Mew before entering the fighting arena in Super Smash Bros. Brawl in 2008. Personality-wise, Lucario carries itself with the calm, quiet dignity of a seasoned martial arts master, possessing a cold, calculating focus and a mysterious presence. It communicates telepathically with those it trusts and is capable of reading the thoughts and emotions of others by sensing the spiritual energy, known as Aura, that radiates from all living things. It exhibits an unyielding composure, a fierce competitive nature, and an absolute lack of fear, viewing every life-or-death battle as a profound spiritual dialogue to test its own limits. Within Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Lucario represents the ultimate high-risk, high-reward "comeback" fighter archetype, universally celebrated for a completely unique "Aura" mechanic where its attack power, projectile size, and recovery distance increase exponentially as its own damage percentage rises. In the heat of battle, Lucario utilizes a swift, acrobatic martial arts style that combines physical bone-rushes with explosive spiritual spells to completely overwhelm opponents. Its neutral special, Aura Sphere, allows it to channel its internal energy to charge a swirling blue sphere of power, which can be stored and fired across the stage floor to deal staggering damage, force defensive panic, or secure incredibly early knockouts when its damage is high. Its side special, Force Palm, executes a short-range blast of energy that functions as a devastating command grab up close, while acting as a reliable mid-range projectile if fired from a distance. For defense, movement mix-ups, and punishing reckless aggression, its down special utilizes Double Team, entering a brief evasive stance where it splits into illusionary duplicates before sliding forward to deliver a sudden, crushing counter-attack from the shadows. When forced to return to safety from the deep depths of the blast zones, its up special, Extreme Speed, launches its body across the stage at supersonic velocities along a highly customizable trajectory, serving as a lightning-fast recovery tool that gains massive, near-uncontrollable distance and heavy landing hitboxes at high damage percentages. Lucario’s unparalleled ability to turn a losing match into an instant victory makes its calm, aura-infused presence a terrifying threat to close out.
- #11Megaman
Keys: Megaman
Mega Man, originally named Rock, is the highly courageous, pure-hearted, and intensely responsible cybernetic defender of peace who debuted in the 1987 NES side-scrolling masterpiece Mega Man and made a monumental entrance into the fighting arena in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. Personality-wise, Mega Man is the absolute embodiment of noble selflessness, possessing a gentle, polite, and pacifistic nature that fundamentally abhors violence and war. Created by the brilliant scientist Dr. Light as a lab assistant, he willingly volunteered to be converted into a fighting robot out of a deep sense of justice, determined to stop the tyrannical Dr. Wily and his rogue Robot Masters from conquering the world. He approaches the chaotic battles of Super Smash Bros. with a quiet, clinical focus, never expressing malice or arrogance, but rather a stoic determination to protect the innocent. Within Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Mega Man represents a premier, high-tier heavy-zoner and projectile specialist, universally celebrated for a highly unique design where nearly his entire standard moveset is comprised of ranged weapons lifted directly from his mainline games. In combat, Mega Man transforms the stage into an oppressive minefield of specialized ammunition, completely dictating the match tempo from a safe distance. His neutral special, Metal Blade, allows him to throw a multi-directional, serrated circular saw that pierces through enemies and can be picked up off the ground to use as a fast item projectile. His side special, Crash Bomber, launches a timed sticky explosive that latches onto opponents or platforms, ticking down before detonating in a multi-hit explosion to force defensive panic and shield wear. For defense and close-range spacing, his down special utilizes Leaf Shield, summoning a rotating barrier of four electronic leaves around his body that reflects weak projectiles and can be fired horizontally to shove away aggressive rushdown threats. When forced to recover from deep off-stage or escape a tight juggle phase, his up special, Rush Coil, summons his loyal robotic dog Rush to propel him high into the stratosphere, leaving behind a trampoline matrix that can be used by other fighters. Mega Man's standard jabs and forward-tilts utilize his iconic Mega Buster to fire rapid yellow solar energy pellets while moving, which, when combined with his devastating, charge-shot forward smash and fiery up-tilt uppercuts, make his mechanical presence an impenetrable fortress to break down
- #12Richter
Keys: Richter, fire emblem
Richter Belmont is a fiercely proud, hot-blooded, and exceptionally confident vanguard of the legendary Belmont bloodline. He made his grand debut in the 1993 PC Engine masterpiece Castlevania: Rondo of Blood before stepping into the arena as Simon Belmont's echo fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate [1.1]. Personality-wise, Richter carries himself with a much more youthful, vocal, and dynamic energy than his stoic ancestor, Simon [1.1]. He is an intensely noble protector who views the eradication of evil not just as a heavy hereditary duty, but as a righteous crusade he eagerly charges into. He approaches the chaotic battles of Super Smash Bros. with absolute focus and a passionate fighting spirit, frequently letting out booming battle cries like "Begone!" or celebrating his victories with sweeping, flashy flourishes of his weapon. Within Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Richter acts as a premier heavyweight zoner and stage-control specialist [1.1], functioning as an identical mechanical copy of Simon while introducing unique visual differences, alternative voice lines, and distinct elemental attributes to his magical weaponry [1.1, 1.2]. On the battlefield, Richter utilizes the consecrated whip Vampire Killer to cleanly wall out opponents from distances that traditional melee fighters cannot hope to match. His neutral special, Axe, hurls a heavy throwing weapon in a wide, high-looping arc that travels straight through solid platforms and deals massive shield pressure, making it an exceptional tool for calling out jump approaches and guarding the stage ledge. His side special, Cross, launches a holy crucifix horizontally across the stage floor like a boomerang, slicing through enemies on its path out and spinning back toward Richter to trap opponents in a heavy hitstun vortex. For defense and close-range stage traps, his down special tosses Holy Water onto the floor, erupting into a persistent pillar of aura-infused blue flame upon impact; unlike Simon's fire-based version, Richter's holy water deals aura-based magic damage, allowing it to bypass specific fire immunities or explosive triggers. When forced to return to safety from deep off-stage, his up special, Uppercut, launches his body vertically into a swift, high-flying physical strike, though he relies heavily on using his whip as a mid-air tether grab to safely latch onto the stage ledge from afar. Richter’s unmatched spacing tools, devastating projectile setups, and flamboyant warrior spirit make him a clinical and formidable force to overcome.
- #13Incineroar
Keys: Incineroar, pokemon
Incineroar is a flamboyantly arrogant, hot-blooded, and intensely theatrical Fire/Dark-type Pokémon who made its explosive debut in the 2016 generational titles Pokémon Sun and Moon before body-slamming its way onto the fighting roster in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Personality-wise, Incineroar is the ultimate "Heel" pro wrestler, living entirely for the roar of the crowd, the thrill of the spotlight, and the sheer joy of mocking its opponents. It approaches every single battle with an overwhelming amount of showboating bravado, completely throwing away any sense of humility to flex its muscles, launch into dramatic victory poses after every successful attack, and unleash roaring taunts to infuriate its rivals. Despite its villainous ring persona, rough demeanor, and love for chaotic brawling, it possesses a deeply loyal spirit that thrives on intense competition, actively feeding off the crowd's energy to push its physical limits. Within Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Incineroar represents the definitive heavyweight "grappler" and trickster archetype, universally celebrated for a unique design where it holds the title of the slowest running character on the entire roster while compensating with devastating close-quarters damage and explosive revenge mechanics. In the heat of battle, Incineroar utilizes a brutal array of authentic professional wrestling maneuvers and fiery physical strikes to completely shatter an opponent's defense. Its neutral special, Darkest Lariat, allows it to spin its massive upper body into a rapid, fiery whirlwind with extended arms, granting it brief invincibility frames to cleanly plow through enemy projectile walls and escape tight combos. Its side special, Alolan Whip, is one of the most infamous and terrifying command grabs in the game, lunging forward to grab an opponent and hurl them horizontally into a set of invisible wrestling ropes, requiring the player to time a precise button press upon their return to deliver a bone-shattering clothesline or a high-flying back-body drop. For defense, statistical amplification, and massive comeback potential, its down special features Revenge, entering a hyper-armored counter stance that absorbs an incoming strike to ignite its championship belt with a roaring flame; once triggered, Incineroar’s very next successful attack deals astronomical, multiplied damage and knockback that can delete an opponent's stock in the blink of an eye. When forced to recover from deep off-stage or looking to crush a vertical juggle, its up special, Cross Chop, sees it leap high into the stratosphere before executing a sharp, blazing diagonal dive straight back down to earth, generating a massive explosion upon impact that can easily carry enemies down into a sacrificial stock-trade. Incineroar's terrifying frame-trap setups, unblockable grapples, and electrifying ring presence make it a dominant and thrilling force to master.
- #14Meta knight
Keys: Meta knight, Kirby
Meta Knight is an enigmatic and honorable warrior from the Kirby series who made his grand debut in the 1993 game Kirby's Adventure and later joined the fighting roster in Super Smash Bros. Brawl in 2008. Clad in a distinctive silver mask and a navy blue cape that can transform into wings, this star warrior captains the Battleship Halberd and wields Galaxia, a legendary golden sword with a serrated, glowing blade. He operates under a strict code of chivalry, often offering Kirby a sword before their duels to ensure a fair fight. In the context of Super Smash Bros., Meta Knight is classified as a fast-paced, lightweight rushdown character who excels at airborne combat due to his unique ability to perform multiple mid-air jumps. In battle, Meta Knight uses his blistering speed and rapid sword strikes to overwhelm opponents and construct devastating aerial combos. His special moves emphasize high mobility and multi-hit attacks, starting with his Mach Tornado neutral special, which spins him into a vortex that traps enemies and lifts him into the air. His side special, Drill Rush, launches him forward like a drill to pierce through opponents, while his down special, Dimensional Cape, allows him to teleport across the stage and unleash a surprise strike from the shadows. For recovery, his up special, Shuttle Loop, executes a swift looping upward slash that transitioned from an infinite gliding tool in his debut game into a highly reliable vertical recovery move and vertical KO option in later iterations. His unparalleled frame data and ability to chase opponents deep off the stage make him an absolute terror in the off-stage edge-guarding phase of the game.
- #15Sheik
Keys: Zelda, legend of zelda, sheik
Sheik is the mysterious and agile ninja persona assumed by Princess Zelda in the critically acclaimed 1998 title The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, entering the fighting arena in Super Smash Bros. Melee in 2001. Clad in the traditional garb of the ancient and secretive Sheikah tribe, Sheik hides her royal identity behind bandages, a heavy scarf, and a red eye emblem to protect herself from the tyrannical Ganondorf. In her original appearance, Sheik acts as a guide to Link, teaching him essential melodies on her harp to aid his quest through time. Within the Super Smash Bros. series, Sheik originally shared a character slot with Zelda, allowing players to transform between the two mid-match, but she became an entirely independent fighter starting in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 34 and Wii U. She is widely celebrated as one of the ultimate rushdown characters in Smash history, defining the archetype with her blistering ground speed, immediate frame data, and oppressive pressure. In combat, Sheik sacrifices raw launch power for unparalleled frame data, extreme mobility, and complex combo strings that leave opponents with little room to breathe. Her neutral special, Needle Storm, allows her to charge and fire a rapid stream of deadly darts across the stage to disrupt enemy movements and force approaches. Her side special, Burst Grenade, pulls out a small explosive that she launches forward to catch opponents and pull them into a fiery blast radius. For recovery and tactical evasion, her up special, Vanish, triggers an explosive puff of smoke that damages nearby foes before she teleports a significant distance in any chosen direction. Finally, her down special, Bouncing Fish, executes a flipping acrobatic kick that sends her soaring forward, acting as an exceptional tool for extending aerial combos, escaping disadvantageous situations, or closing stocks off-stage. While Sheik struggles more than most fighters to secure a final knockout blow, her flawless ability to rack up damage quickly and dominate the neutral game makes her a premier choice for technical players.
- #16Pit
Keys: icarus, pit
Pit is the incredibly loyal, earnest, and fiercely protective captain of Palutena's royal guard, hailing from the Kid Icarus series and making his fighting debut in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Personality-wise, Pit is a bubbly, endlessly optimistic, and somewhat naive hero who possesses a heart of pure gold, though his lack of formal education often leads to humorous banter about his inability to read. Despite his lighthearted and sometimes goofy demeanor, he is an unflinching warrior who shows immense bravery in the face of dark deities, driven by a deep devotion to the Goddess of Light. He loves floor ice cream, breaks the fourth wall constantly, and maintains a highly energetic, positive attitude even when facing world-ending threats. In the Super Smash Bros. universe, Pit acts as a highly balanced, well-rounded fighter designed to handle any situation, utilizing his multiple mid-air jumps to control the skies while remaining highly accessible to players of all skill levels. In combat, Pit wields the Palutena Bow, a divine weapon that can split into dual short swords for swift, close-quarters melee strikes. His neutral special, Palutena's Arrow, fires a glowing projectile that players can guide and curve mid-flight, making it an exceptional tool for harassing opponents and sniping them off-stage. For defense, his down special, Guardian Orbitars, summons two celestial shields that block physical attacks and reflect enemy projectiles with ease. When launching an offensive, his side special, Upperdash Arm, charges him forward with a mechanized weapon to deflect oncoming projectiles and deliver a devastating, vertical-launching uppercut. Because his wings are naturally cursed and prevent him from flying on his own, his up special, Power of Flight, relies on Palutena's divine intervention to launch him upward in a controlled, wide-reaching arc for an incredible recovery. Pit's honest playstyle, versatile projectile game, and valiant spirit make him a dependable jack-of-all-trades on the battlefield.
- #17Dark Pit
Keys: Dark pit, pit
Dark Pit is the cynical, defiant, and intensely independent doppelgänger of Pit, who was accidentally created by the Mirror of Truth in Kid Icarus: Uprising and entered the battle roster in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. In stark contrast to his bubbly and cheerful counterpart, Dark Pit possesses a brooding, serious, and fiercely arrogant personality, utterly despising the idea of being anyone's puppet or copy. He frequently mocks Pit's blind obedience to the Goddess Palutena, choosing instead to serve no master, fight for his own hidden moral code, and rely entirely on his own raw strength. Despite his cold, aloof demeanor and prickly attitude, he is not truly evil, occasionally showing a begrudging sense of honor and an unspoken willingness to protect Pit when the fate of the world is on the line. In the context of Super Smash Bros., he mirrors Pit's balanced, all-rounder archetype but introduces subtle, deadlier mechanical differences that reflect his darker, more ruthless approach to combat. On the battlefield, Dark Pit utilizes the Silver Bow, which splits into dual blades for fast close-quarters combat but functions differently from Pit’s divine weapon when fired at a distance. His neutral special, Silver Bow, shoots arrows that deal significantly more damage and knockback than Pit's, though they are much heavier and cannot be curved as sharply mid-flight, favoring a direct and punishing sniper style. For offense, his side special, Electroshock Arm, replaces Pit's weapon with a thunderous club that sends Dark Pit rocketing forward, delivering a brutal horizontal strike that kills opponents much closer to the side blast zones. His down special, Guardian Orbitars, maintains his defensive capabilities by summoning two energy shields that block attacks and reflect incoming projectiles away from his body. Even though he can fly freely on his own in his home series, his up special in Smash still utilizes the Power of Flight to launch him upward in a wide, highly maneuverable arc for a fantastic recovery. Dark Pit's pragmatism, devastating horizontal kill options, and solitary pride offer a sharper, more aggressive alternative to his lighthearted counterpart.
- #18Rosalina
Keys: Rosalina, Super mario
Rosalina is a calm, maternal, and deeply melancholic cosmic entity who first appeared in the 2007 masterpiece Super Mario Galaxy and floated into the fighting arena in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. Personality-wise, Rosalina carries herself with a serene, regal grace and an air of quiet maturity, a demeanor shaped by her tragic childhood backstory of leaving Earth and losing her mother. Despite her immense, god-like power over the cosmos, she is incredibly gentle, nurturing, and compassionate, acting as the adoptive mother and protector to the nomadic, star-like creatures known as Lumas. She speaks in soft, soothing tones and possesses a mystical, detached presence, yet she displays fierce determination whenever her starry family or the safety of the universe is threatened. In the Super Smash Bros. series, she represents a complex, high-tier "puppet" character archetype, where players must simultaneously control Rosalina’s graceful floaty movements and the independent actions of her accompanying Luma. In the heat of battle, Rosalina relies heavily on teamwork with her Luma to create an oppressive wall of hitboxes that can attack from two different places at once. Her neutral special, Luma Shot, charges and launches her Luma forward across the stage, allowing the little star to fight independently at a distance and disrupt enemy setups. Her side special, Star Bits, commands Luma to fire a short-range burst of three damaging cosmic shards that trap opponents and rack up damage quickly. For defense and stage control, her down special, Gravitational Pull, uses her wand to warp the trajectory of incoming items and enemy projectiles, harmlessly absorbing them or drawing them directly into her possession. If she is ever launched off the stage, her up special, Launch Star, utilizes a burst of galactic energy to propel her at high speeds along a customizable, curving trajectory for a phenomenal recovery, though it deals no damage to opponents. Rosalina’s unique dual-character mechanics, astronomical stage presence, and elegant composure make her one of the most technical and rewarding fighters to master.
- #19Mario
Keys: Mario, Super mario
Mario is the cheerful, exceptionally brave, and kind-hearted face of Nintendo who debuted in the 1981 arcade classic Donkey Kong and has stood as the proud anchor of the roster since the original 1999 Super Smash Bros. [1]. Personality-wise, Mario is the ultimate golden-hearted hero, radiating a boundless sense of optimism, determination, and humbleness despite his status as a global icon. He is an upbeat adventurer who loves food, smiles constantly, and possesses an unwavering sense of justice, never hesitating to throw himself into extreme danger to rescue Princess Peach or protect the Mushroom Kingdom. He rarely speaks in full sentences, expressing his enthusiastic, friendly demeanor through iconic vocalizations, passionate arm pumps, and joyful leaps. Within Super Smash Bros., Mario acts as the definitive baseline fighter, embodying a perfectly balanced, mid-weight all-rounder archetype with highly intuitive mechanics that make him both welcoming to beginners and incredibly expressive in the hands of competitive professionals. On the battlefield, Mario utilizes a versatile toolkit that combines dynamic martial arts, blazing acrobatics, and signature items from his mainline adventures. His neutral special, Fireball, allows him to bounce small spheres of flame across the terrain to disrupt enemy approaches, control space, and force opponents to react. His side special, Cape, pulls out his iconic yellow garment from Super Mario World to execute a swift swipe that reflects enemy projectiles and physically flips opponents around, completely reversing their momentum and making it an infamous tool for breaking edge-guards. For defense and counter-attacks, his down special features the Super Mario Sunshine F.L.U.D.D. apparatus, a water cannon that charges up to spray a non-damaging torrent of water, pushing opponents back to ruin their recoveries or clear space on the stage. When launched into disadvantage, his up special, Super Jump Punch, sends him soaring vertically into the air to strike opponents while releasing a cascade of nostalgic coins, serving as both a fast out-of-shield attack and a highly reliable recovery move. Mario's exceptional frame data, devastating up-air combo strings, and timeless, heroic spirit make him a formidable, adaptable threat in any matchup.
- #20Dr. Mario
Keys: Mario, Dr mario
Dr. Mario is a serious, scholarly, yet equally dependable alter ego of Mario who traded his iconic denim overalls for a sterile white lab coat and stethoscope in the 1990 puzzle classic Dr. Mario, later curing opponents on the battlefield in Super Smash Bros. Melee. Personality-wise, this medical persona is noticeably more clinical, focused, and composed than his mainline counterpart, exchanging Mario's boundless, energetic acrobatics for a dignified, methodical demeanor. He approaches combat not as a whimsical adventure, but as a precise surgical procedure, maintaining a professional and confident attitude while he diagnoses his opponents' weaknesses. Despite his colder, more professional exterior, he still retains the fundamentally heroic, well-meaning soul of the Mushroom Kingdom's favorite plumber, dedicating his medical knowledge to neutralizing virus outbreaks and crushing anyone who challenges his authority. In the Super Smash Bros. series, he acts as a slower, much heavier-hitting "clone" or echo-adjacent fighter, trading away mobility for raw, bone-shattering launch power. In combat, Dr. Mario uses a modified variation of Mario’s kit that replaces elemental fire and water with medical equipment and chemical compounds. His neutral special, Megavitamin, launches bouncing, dual-colored pills across the stage that hit significantly harder and with a different trajectory than traditional fireballs, making them excellent for staggering opponents. His side special, Super Sheet, acts similarly to Mario's cape, allowing him to flip oncoming enemies and reflect dangerous projectiles with a crisp, white hospital sheet. For up-close self-defense, his down special, Dr. Tornado, spins his body into a rapid, multi-hit whirlwind that can be mashed to gain slight vertical height, serving as a powerful tool to break out of enemy combos or net a surprise knockout. His up special, Super Jump Punch, delivers a devastating single-hit medical uppercut that lacks the coin effects of Mario's version but deals immense, instant knockback right at the start of the animation. While his terrible ground speed and abysmal, short-ranged vertical recovery make him highly vulnerable off-stage, his terrifying frame data, devastating attack power, and academic precision make him a lethal powerhouse in close quarters.
- #21Corrin
Keys: fire emblem, corrin
Corrin is a gentle, deeply empathetic, and fiercely loyal royal heir who debuted in the 2015 tactical role-playing game Fire Emblem Fates before joining the battle roster in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. Personality-wise, Corrin stands out from other stoic mercenaries through an immense capacity for kindness, a peace-loving nature, and a tragic sense of inner conflict stemming from being torn between two warring adoptive and biological families. They possess an open, trusting heart that can border on naivety, always preferring negotiation over bloodshed and deeply valuing the bonds of friendship and family above political allegiance. Despite this soft-spoken and sensitive demeanor, Corrin exhibits unwavering resolve and immense bravery on the battlefield when protecting loved ones, fighting with a graceful, noble determination. Within Super Smash Bros., Corrin represents a unique spacing archetype, utilizing the inherited bloodline of the First Dragons to transform parts of their body into draconic weapons, giving them exceptional melee reach and distinct mid-range stage control. In the heat of battle, Corrin relies on the legendary Omega Yato blade alongside versatile dragon-shifting abilities to pierce through defenses from a safe distance. Their neutral special, Torrential Shot, transforms their hand into a dragon maw to fire a paralyzing water projectile, which can be immediately followed up by a powerful biting physical strike for massive damage. Their side special, Dragon Lunge, launches Corrin forward to hop into the air or forcefully pin their transformed arm directly into the ground, trapping nearby opponents or allowing Corrin to execute rapid kick follow-ups in either direction. For defense and counter-attacks, their down special, Counter Surge, turns their body into a draconic state to absorb incoming strikes and unleash a massive, vertical geyser of water that launches enemies upward with extreme force. If knocked off-stage, their up special, Draconic Ascent, sprouts massive dragon wings from their back to propel them upward in a wide, sweeping arc that damages any opponents caught in the crossfire. Corrin's superb juggling tools, long-reaching tipper hitboxes, and compassionate yet lethal fighting style make them a highly versatile threat.
- #22Bowser jr
Keys: Bowser jr, super mario
Bowser Jr. is the spoiled, mischievous, and fiercely loyal son of the Koopa King who made his debut in the 2002 classic Super Mario Sunshine before rolling onto the battlefield in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. Personality-wise, Bowser Jr. is a pint-sized terror bursting with bratty arrogance, boundless energy, and a burning desire to make his father proud by conquering the Mushroom Kingdom. He possesses a highly creative and inventive mind, frequently constructing complex mechanical contraptions and utilizing a magical paint brush to cause widespread chaos. Despite his whiny, temperamental outbursts when things do not go his way, he exhibits a fearless, gutsy attitude and a deep, genuine affection for his dad, constantly trying to prove he is worthy of inheriting the Koopa throne. In Super Smash Bros., he fights entirely from within his personalized, high-tech Junior Clown Car, creating a highly unique, heavyweight zoning and rushdown hybrid style where the vehicle itself takes less damage than Bowser Jr.’s exposed body. In combat, Bowser Jr. unleashes a chaotic arsenal of hidden weapons and mechanical gadgets built directly into his floating vehicle. His neutral special, Clown Cannon, fires a heavy, slow-moving black cannonball across the stage that deals massive damage and shield pressure to anyone unable to dodge its path. His side special, Clown Kart Dash, transforms the vehicle into a speeding go-kart, allowing him to race across the stage to ram opponents, execute drift turnarounds, and jump out of the dash for devastating aerial follow-ups. For stage control and zoning, his down special drops a Mechakoopa, a small wind-up toy that walks along the ground, latching onto enemies to detonate or acting as an item that can be picked up and thrown. When forced to recover or go for a risky knockout, his up special, Abandon Ship!, ejects Bowser Jr. high into the air as the Junior Clown Car explodes violently below him, leaving him vulnerable but armed with a powerful explosive hammer swing until he lands. Bowser Jr.’s tricky movement options, explosive trap setups, and bratty, relentless offense make him a delightfully frustrating opponent to face.
- #23Palutena
Keys: Palutena
Palutena is the elegant, wise, and delightfully playful Goddess of Light who rules over Angel Land in the Kid Icarus series, making her debut in the 1986 original before joining the battle roster as a playable fighter in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. Personality-wise, Palutena is a fascinating blend of divine majesty and mischievous charm, often acting as a teasing, lighthearted mentor to her loyal servant, Pit. She possesses a sharp, witty sense of humor and loves to crack jokes or break the fourth wall, frequently poking fun at Pit's gullibility or dramatic tendencies. Despite her casual and sometimes aloof demeanor, she holds a deep, maternal love for humanity and exhibits a fierce, unwavering determination to protect the mortal realm from underworld threats and rival deities. In the Super Smash Bros. universe, Palutena is a top-tier, lightweight zoner and rushdown hybrid who uses her immense divine magic, incredible mobility, and regal staff to completely dominate the neutral game. On the battlefield, Palutena keeps opponents at bay using long-reaching celestial magic and defensive barriers. Her neutral special, Autoreticle, projects a magical beam from her staff that locks onto nearby opponents to automatically fire a rapid volley of three energy bursts across the stage. Her side special, Explosive Flame, summons a massive, stationary detonation of divine fire at a set distance in front of her, making it a terrifying tool for calling out enemy movements and catching hesitant recoveries. For defense, her down special combines a Counter and a Reflector into one seamless move, raising a glowing shield that absorbs physical strikes to retaliate with a physical bash while instantly sending incoming projectiles back at her foes. When she needs to return to safety, her up special, Warp, utilizes her divine power to instantly teleport her a significant distance in any direction, providing a fast, intangible recovery option that leaves her virtually untrackable. Palutena’s oppressive aerial hitboxes, exceptional ground speed, and playful yet commanding divine presence make her a graceful and dominant force on the roster.
- #24Olimar
Keys: Pikmin

Brawl in 2008. Personality-wise, Olimar is a pragmatic, soft-spoken professional who possesses a quiet, gentle courage and an insatiable scientific curiosity. He is a devoted husband and father who frequently writes heartfelt, melancholic journal entries about missing his family while stranded on hostile alien planets. Despite his incredibly tiny physical stature, he exhibits immense leadership skills and a calm, analytical demeanor under pressure, viewing his surroundings through the lens of a seasoned explorer. In Super Smash Bros., Olimar acts as a highly unique, micromanagement-heavy zoner and puppet master archetype, relying completely on plucking and managing a squad of colored Pikmin to fight, defend, and survive. In combat, Olimar is virtually defenseless alone and must use his down special, Pikmin Order, to recall and reorganize his colorful companions, who cycle through different elemental attributes. His neutral special, Pikmin Pluck, pulls up to three Pikmin from the ground, including high-damage Reds, electrical Yellows, poison-resistant Purples, fragile Whites, and sturdy Blues. His side special, Pikmin Throw, tosses these creatures across the stage to latch onto opponents, where they relentlessly rack up damage by chipping away at the enemy's health. For defense and counter-attacks, his smash attacks use the Pikmin as physical projectiles, providing Olimar with incredible disjointed range and massive launch power depending on which Pikmin is at the front of the line. If he falls off the stage, his up special, Winged Pikmin, summons a pair of flying insects to carry him high into the air, with the recovery distance heavily dependent on how many heavy ground Pikmin he is carrying. Olimar’s complex item management, deceptive damage output, and quiet, tactical resolve make him a uniquely challenging and cerebral fighter to master.
- #25Bowser
Keys: Bowser, Giga
Bowser is the hot-tempered, fiercely aggressive, and intensely power-hungry King of the Koopas, who has served as Mario's ultimate arch-nemesis since the 1985 classic Super Mario Bros. and has anchored the heavy-hitter roster since Super Smash Bros. Melee. Personality-wise, Bowser is a massive ball of ego, vanity, and pride, commanding his vast army with an iron fist and a booming, terrifying roar. He possesses a deeply vengeful nature and an obsessive desire to conquer the Mushroom Kingdom, but underneath his menacing, spike-shelled exterior lies a surprisingly comedic, dramatic, and fiercely protective father who deeply loves his son, Bowser Jr. Despite his villainous tendencies, he operates with a strange sense of personal honor, occasionally teaming up with Mario to save the world when a greater threat threatens his own plans for conquest. In Super Smash Bros., Bowser is the definitive "super heavyweight" king, dominating the stage with his massive frame, terrifying launch power, and surprisingly high running speed. In the heat of battle, Bowser utilizes his immense physical bulk and devastating raw strength to completely overwhelm opponents with just a few successful hits. His neutral special, Fire Breath, allows him to unleash a continuous torrent of roaring flames from his jaws, trapping nearby enemies and racking up massive damage at the start of a match. His side special, Flying Slam, sees him leap forward to grab an opponent, spiral high into the air, and violently crush them into the ground, a move that allows Bowser to steer the trajectory and even force a sacrificial "Bowsercide" stock-trade off the edge of the stage. For defensive space and quick out-of-shield pressure, his down special, Bowser Bomb, sends him leaping into the air before crashing straight down bottom-first, shattering enemy shields and launching foes vertically. When launched off the stage, his up special, Whirling Fortress, spins his spiked shell into a rapid, multi-hit vortex that provides excellent horizontal recovery on stage and acts as a fantastic tool for escaping enemy pressure. Bowser’s terrifying "Tough Guy" armor mechanic, which allows him to walk straight through weak rapid-fire attacks without flinching, makes his brutal, aggressive demeanor a nightmare to contain.
- #26Peach
Keys: Peach, Mushroom kingdom
Princess Peach is the elegant, sweet-natured, and exceptionally poised ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom. She debuted in the historic 1985 classic Super Mario Bros. and has graced the battlefield since her introduction in Super Smash Bros. Melee. Personality-wise, Peach is the epitome of royal refinement and maternal gentleness, treating both friends and foes with immense politeness. She possesses an unshakeable optimism and a deeply caring soul, often responding to chaotic battles with joyful giggles, elegant spins, and cheerful taunts like asking "Aw, did I win?" with absolute innocence. However, underneath her dainty pink dress and polite demeanor lies a fiercely resourceful and independent monarch who is fully capable of defending her kingdom and holding her own against the fiercest warriors on the roster. In the context of Super Smash Bros., Peach is renowned as one of the most technical and dominant high-tier fighters across multiple iterations. This is largely due to her completely unique "float" mechanic, which allows her to hover horizontally just above the ground or high in the air to execute devastating, frame-perfect aerial combinations.
When engaging in combat, Peach utilizes a deceptively whimsical moveset that can instantly shatter an opponent's defense. Her neutral special, Toad, allows her to pull her loyal mushroom servant forward to act as a living shield, absorbing incoming attacks and counter-attacking by spraying a multi-hit cloud of toxic fungal spores. Her side special, Peach Bomber, launches her horizontally across the stage to deliver an explosive, heart-infused hip bash that deals massive shield pressure and reliably knocks enemies into the lateral blast zones. For zoning and stage control, her down special, Vegetable, allows her to pluck a turnip from the ground to use as a versatile throwing item, featuring a small chance to pull a devastating "stitch face" radish that deals massive damage, or even a rare Bob-omb. When she needs to escape disadvantage or return to the stage, her up special, Peach Parasol, launches her high into the air with a multi-hit striking umbrella before letting her gracefully glide back down to safety. Through the intricate mastery of ground floating and item management, Peach transforms her elegant royal aesthetic into an aggressive, terrifyingly oppressive offensive juggernaut.
- #27Samus
Keys: Samus, metroid
Samus Aran is the stoic, fiercely independent, and legendary intergalactic bounty hunter who debuted in the 1986 sci-fi classic Metroid [1.1] and has stood as a founding pillar of the fighting roster since the original 1999 Super Smash Bros.. Personality-wise, Samus is a consummate professional characterized by a cold, calculating focus, unyielding mental fortitude, and a quiet, solitary nature [1.1, 1.2]. Raised and genetically altered by the ancient, avian Chozo race after space pirates slaughtered her family, she operates with a detached, military-like efficiency, rarely speaking and allowing her decisive actions to convey her unwavering sense of justice. Beneath her intimidating, high-tech Power Suit lies a deeply compassionate soul driven by a profound respect for innocent life, though she remains an utterly ruthless hunter when tracking down dangerous entities like Ridley or the parasitic Metroids. In the Super Smash Bros. universe, Samus is a premier heavyweight zoner who controls the pace of combat by establishing a dense, oppressive wall of long-range explosives and energy projectiles. In battle, Samus uses her arm cannon to dictate the neutral game from across the stage while relying on heavy armor to survive deep into high damage percentages. Her neutral special, Charge Shot, allows her to store a massive ball of electrical energy that can be unleashed instantly to shatter shields or secure early knockouts from afar. Her side special, Missile, fires either a fast, straight-flying super missile for direct impact or a slower, homing missile to track elusive opponents and force them into defensive mistakes. For close-quarters defense and stage traps, her down special drops a small Bomb while shifting her into her iconic Morph Ball form, providing excellent evasive movement and a safe tool to disrupt enemy approaches. If she is launched off-stage, her up special, Screw Attack, spins her body into a rapid, multi-hit electrical vortex that delivers strong vertical recovery and serves as a devastating, lightning-fast out-of-shield option. Samus’s ability to completely suffocate opponents with projectile setups, combined with her surprisingly agile aerial tether recovery using her Grapple Beam, makes her a clinical and enduring threat on any stage.
- #28Dark samus

Ultimate [1.1, 1.2]. Born from the fusion of the radioactive mutagen Phazon and Samus Aran's discarded Power Suit [1.1], this entity does not possess human emotion or speech, instead communicating through an eerie, low-pitched heartbeat and a chilling, sadistic cackle. Personality-wise, Dark Samus is the physical embodiment of corruption and obsessive consumption, driven by an instinctual desire to spread Phazon across the cosmos and assimilate entire planets. It displays a menacing, alien curiosity, moving with an unsettling, floaty elegance that makes it appear to glide effortlessly across the ground rather than walk. Within Super Smash Bros., Dark Samus functions as a direct echo of Samus, sharing the same heavyweight zoning capabilities but altering the visual aesthetic, dodge animations, and roll properties to highlight its eerie, otherworldly nature [1.2]. On the battlefield, Dark Samus utilizes a corrupted variant of the standard Power Suit arsenal, infused with glowing blue Phazon particles that slightly alter the properties of its attacks. Its neutral special, Charge Shot, generates a massive, crackling sphere of dark energy that can be stored and unleashed to deal heavy damage and shatter shields from across the stage. Its side special, Missile, unleashes homing or super projectiles that pulse with alien energy, effectively tracking nimble opponents and forcing them into disadvantageous positions. For ground manipulation and edge-guarding, its down special drops a Phazon Bomb while briefly shifting into a morph ball state, creating small explosions that float slightly higher off the ground than Samus's traditional bombs. If forced to recover or defend in close quarters, its up special, Screw Attack, launches it into a rapid, multi-hit electrical vortex that delivers strong vertical lift and serves as an incredibly fast out-of-shield option. Dark Samus’s lower-to-the-ground dodging animations, distinct aerial drift, and unsettling cosmic presence offer a deeply haunting alternative to the classic bounty hunter.

His side special, Space Pirate Rush, sees him lunge forward to grab an opponent by the face, scrape them violently along the ground at high speeds, and slam them away, serving as a brutal, terrifying tool for carrying enemies right off the ledge. For precise punishment, his down special, Skewer, executes a precise, hyper-focused tail strike that deals staggering damage and crumples opponents into a helpless, grounded state if he manages to strike with the absolute tip of the blade. - #31Snake
Keys: Metal gear, snake
Solid Snake is a legendary, world-renowned soldier and legendary infiltrator who debuted in the 1987 tactical stealth classic Metal Gear and famously broke boundaries as the very first third-party guest fighter to join the roster in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Personality-wise, Snake is a hardened, deeply cynical, and stoic operative who speaks in a low, gravelly monotone voice. He carries the heavy psychological scars of a lifetime spent on the battlefield, often contemplating the dark realities of warfare and viewing himself as nothing more than a tool for a mission. Despite his gruff, aloof exterior, he possesses a strong personal moral code, an unyielding determination to avert nuclear catastrophe, and a hidden dry wit that shines through during codec conversations with his support team. He approaches the frantic battles of Super Smash Bros. with absolute military seriousness, exhibiting extreme tactical pragmatism while reacting with mild amusement or bewilderment to the whimsical, colorful roster surrounding him. Within the Super Smash Bros. series, Snake represents a highly technical, heavyweight heavy-zoner archetype who relies on meticulous traps, stage control, and explosive hardware.
In combat, Snake lacks high-flying agility but compensates with flawless Close Quarters Combat (CQC) and a devastating arsenal of hidden military ordinance. His neutral special, Hand Grenade, allows him to pull out and cook a live explosive that can be dropped, tossed, or intentionally detonated on his own body to break free from aggressive enemy combos. His side special, Remote Controlled Missile, fires a guided projectile that players can manually steer through the air to intercept floating opponents or snipe characters attempting to recover off-stage. For tactical positioning and stage hazards, his down special plants a hidden C4 explosive on the ground or directly onto an opponent's body, which can be detonated at any moment with a satisfying snap of his fingers. When forced to recover, his up special summons a Cypher flying drone that carries him high into the air with heavy armor, making him resilient to early edge-guards even though he remains vulnerable to juggling. Combined with powerful up-tilt kicks and mortar strike up-smashes, Snake transforms the stage into an explosive minefield that forces opponents to play entirely on his terms

He rolled into the digital world as a playable fighter in Super Smash Bros. Brawl in 2008. Personality-wise, R.O.B. is entirely mechanical, stoic, and programmatically precise, communicating only through robotic beeps, whirs, and clanking metal. Despite his emotionless exterior, he possesses a deeply endearing, tragic charm as a relic of gaming history who has been reprogrammed from a physical household toy into a formidable combatant. In the story mode of Brawl, he was depicted as the reluctant leader of the Ancient Minister army, displaying an uncharacteristically moving sense of grief and sacrifice for his fallen robotic brethren before reclaiming his autonomy. Within Super Smash Bros., R.O.B. represents a premier heavyweight zoner and item-management powerhouse, dominating the tournament landscape with his massive frame, unparalleled recovery, and oppressive projectile setups. On the battlefield, R.O.B. uses his high-tech hardware and jet-propulsion system to completely dictate the pace of the match and suffocate opponents at any distance. His neutral special, Robo Beam, fires a searing laser from his eyes that travels instantly across the stage, which can be angled up or down and grows exponentially stronger and wider if allowed to charge over time. His side special, Arm Rotor, spins his mechanical limbs into a rapid, multi-hit reflector vortex that deflects incoming projectiles and drags opponents into a punishing combo finisher. For stage control and item play, his down special charges and manufactures a Gyro, a spinning top projectile that he can launch across the floor or catch out of the air to use as a versatile, high-damage throwing item. If he is ever launched off the stage, his up special, Robo Burner, activates a fuel-based jetpack that grants him incredible, prolonged horizontal and vertical flight to recover from the deepest depths of the blast zones. R.O.B.’s devastating down-throw into up-aerial knockouts, coupled with his massive disjointed aerial hitboxes, makes him an exceptionally dominant mechanical force.
- #33Daisy
Keys: Daisy, Super mario
Princess Daisy is the energetic, tomboyish, and incredibly high-spirited ruler of Sarasaland. She made her lively debut in the 1989 Game Boy classic Super Mario Land before bursting onto the battlefield as a playable echo fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate [1.1]. In stark contrast to the soft-spoken, graceful demeanor of her best friend Princess Peach, Daisy possesses a loud, competitive, and boisterous personality. She is a spunky go-getter who radiates pure confidence, completely unafraid to speak her mind, show off her athletic prowess, or loudly proclaim "Hi I'm Daisy!" to both intimidate rivals and celebrate her victories. She approaches every battle with a sassy, unyielding optimism and an aggressive enthusiasm, injecting a bright surge of floral energy wherever she goes. Within the Super Smash Bros. universe, Daisy functions as an identical mechanical echo to Peach, utilizing the same devastating "float" mechanic to hover precisely above the ground for complex aerial combos, while replacing Peach's elegant animations with her own enthusiastic, energetic, and blossom-infused flair [1.1]. On the battlefield, Daisy uses a deceptive, highly technical moveset wrapped in a shower of vibrant flower petals to crush her opponents' defenses. Her neutral special, Toad, pulls her loyal mushroom servant forward to absorb oncoming attacks, retaliating by spraying a cloud of spores that trap and damage enemies in place. Her side special, Daisy Bomber, launches her horizontally across the stage for an explosive, flower-burst hip attack that deals heavy shield damage and sends opponents flying toward the side blast zones. For stage hazards and item management, her down special allows her to pluck turnips with varying expressions from the stage floor, giving her a highly versatile throwing projectile to control the neutral game. When recovering from deep off-stage or escaping pressure, her up special, Daisy Parasol, propels her high into the sky with a multi-hit umbrella strike before allowing her to float gracefully down to safety. Through her masterful use of the horizontal floating mechanic, Daisy transforms her bright royal aesthetic into an oppressive, fast-paced offensive rushdown style.

He panics easily at the sight of ghosts, loud noises, or imposing enemies, often shaking or hiding behind his hands. Despite his timid disposition and chronic lack of confidence, Luigi possesses the true heart of a hero; when his brother or friends are in danger, he swallows his terror and braves terrifying haunted mansions or dangerous battlefields to save them. Within the Super Smash Bros. series, Luigi acts as a unique, slippery, and highly volatile mid-weight fighter, boasting a notoriously low-friction traction that causes him to slide across the stage floor while utilizing an incredibly explosive, zero-to-death combo game. In combat, Luigi combines wacky supernatural gadgets with highly unorthodox, elastic martial arts to catch opponents off guard. His neutral special, Fireball, allows him to throw a green sphere of flame that defies gravity by traveling horizontally in a perfectly straight line, acting as an exceptional tool for disrupting enemy approaches. His side special, Green Missile, sees him charge up to launch himself horizontally across the stage like a human rocket, carrying a random one-in-ten chance to misfire with explosive force for an instant, catastrophic knockout. For close-range defense and stage management, his down special utilizes the Poltergust G-00 vacuum pack from Luigi's Mansion, dragging opponents into a rapid, multi-hit cyclone spin that can be mashed to gain vertical height or escape combos. When hunting for a definitive stock ending, his up special, Super Jump Punch, delivers a devastating single-hit fiery uppercut that must connect perfectly at the dead center of an opponent's body to unleash its lethal "Sweetspot" launch power. Luigi's terrifying grapple game, centered around a tether grab that can immediately lead into lethal combinations, makes him a highly chaotic and dangerous threat.

In the heat of battle, Kirby relies on his signature elasticity and unique copy abilities to completely turn an opponent's strategy against them. His neutral special, Inhale, allows him to open his mouth wide to vacuum up nearby enemies, letting him either spit them out as a high-velocity star projectile or swallow them whole to copy their neutral special ability, dynamically shifting his toolkit and donning a unique hat based on the victim. His side special, Hammer Flip, sees him pull out a massive wooden mallet that can be charged up to unleash a devastating, fiery swing capable of shattering shields and netting early knockouts. For defense, edge-guarding, and crushing heavy objects, his down special, Stone, transforms his body into a heavy stone block or historical weight, sending him crashing straight down from the air while remaining completely immune to standard damage and knockback. When recovering from the deep depths of the stage, his up special, Final Cutter, executes a rapid upward leap with a energy blade before slamming back down to the ground, releasing a small shockwave projectile across the floor. Kirby's small hurtbox, excellent aerial maneuvering, and whimsical adaptability make him an enduringly fun and deceptively powerful fighter.
- #36Wario
Keys: Wario
Wario is the hilariously crude, intensely greedy, and fiercely independent anti-hero who debuted as a villain in the 1992 Game Boy title Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins before crashing into the fighting roster in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Personality-wise, Wario is a walking explosion of pure id, greed, and ego, driven entirely by his obsession with collecting gold, eating garlic, and causing widespread mischief. He possesses a loud, boastful, and aggressively unrefined demeanor, completely throwing away any sense of manners to pick his nose, laugh maniacally at others' misfortunes, and unleash biological warfare on his enemies. Despite his deeply selfish, lazy, and flatulent exterior, he is a surprisingly brilliant entrepreneur and a powerhouse of raw, stubborn willpower, running his own microgame company and displaying a bizarrely heroic streak whenever someone tries to steal his hard-earned treasure. Within the Super Smash Bros. series, Wario is a heavyweight, highly unorthodox bait-and-switch brawler who trades standard ground mobility for some of the best horizontal aerial maneuverability in the entire game. In combat, Wario uses a chaotic, physical fighting style that combines brutal wrestling moves with bizarre motorized and biological attacks. His neutral special, Chomp, allows him to open his massive jaws to bite down on opponents, chewing them up to rack up damage while healing himself, or even consuming incoming projectiles and items to fuel his body. His side special, Wario Bike, sees him hop onto his customized chopper motorcycle to ram across the stage at high speeds, providing an excellent tool for stage control that can be jumped off of, picked up, and hurled as a heavy throwing weapon. For recovery and combo extension, his up special, Corkscrew, spins his body vertically into a rapid, multi-hit spiral punch that shreds through opponents in his way. His most terrifying asset is his down special, Wario Waft, a unique biological timer attack that charges up over the course of the match; when fully loaded, Wario releases a catastrophic, toxic flatulent explosion that propels him high into the stratosphere, serving as one of the most lethal and feared comeback moves in Smash history. Wario's deceptive aerial drift, command grabs, and sheer unpredictability make him a wonderfully disgusting force to reckon with.
- #37Lucina
Keys: Fire emblem, Lucina
Lucina is a fiercely determined, stoic, and deeply noble princess from a dystopian future who debuted in the 2012 tactical role-playing masterpiece Fire Emblem Awakening before joining the battle roster in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. Personality-wise, Lucina carries herself with an intense, unwavering seriousness and a heavy sense of responsibility, having traveled back in time to prevent an apocalyptic future where her parents were slaughtered by the fell dragon Grima. She is completely selfless, honorable, and intensely loyal to her father, Chrom, often disregarding her own happiness or safety to ensure the survival of her friends and the world. Because she grew up in a desolate, war-torn landscape, she has a notoriously dry, practical demeanor and a completely absent sense of humor, which frequently leads to awkward, endearing social interactions and highly questionable tastes in fashion. Within the Super Smash Bros. series, Lucina acts as a premier, high-tier echo fighter of Marth, offering a perfectly balanced sword-spacing archetype that trades away Marth's specific tipper mechanics for total consistency.
On the battlefield, Lucina wields the legendary Parallel Falchion, utilizing a precise and fluid fencing style that excels at walling out opponents with a dense curtain of steel. Her neutral special, Shield Breaker, allows her to charge up an intense, forward-thrusting stab that deals catastrophic shield damage, instantly shattering an opponent's defense if they try to block it. Her side special, Dancing Blade, executes a customizable, multi-hit combination of up to four rapid sword slashes that can be angled upward to juggle, straight to push back, or downward to rack up heavy damage. For defense and punishing reckless aggression, her down special, Counter, lets her enter a brief defensive stance to absorb any incoming physical attack and immediately retaliate with a swift, punishing slash based on the enemy's own strength. When launched deep off-stage or looking to break a vertical juggle, her up special, Dolphin Slash, launches her into a lightning-fast, high-flying upward strike that serves as a highly reliable vertical recovery and an exceptional out-of-shield option. Because her sword deals uniform damage across the entire blade rather than favoring the tip, Lucina’s relentless aggression, air mobility, and mechanical consistency make her one of the most reliable and oppressive fundamentals-focused fighters on the roster.
- #38Robin
Keys: Robin, fire emblem
Robin is the brilliant, highly analytical, and deeply empathetic master tactician who debuted in the 2012 tactical role-playing masterpiece Fire Emblem Awakening before joining the fighting roster in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. Personality-wise, Robin is a calm, composed, and intellectually driven individual who possesses a natural talent for strategy and an unshakeable dedication to their companions, particularly their closest ally, Prince Chrom. Despite suffering from profound amnesia at the start of their journey, Robin displays a warm, modest, and incredibly supportive demeanor, always prioritizing the safety and emotional well-being of the Shepherds over their own personal glory. While they prefer to outthink and outmaneuver opponents rather than engage in reckless bloodshed, Robin possesses an unwavering inner strength and absolute bravery when facing destiny itself, even when grappling with a dark, hidden heritage. Within the Super Smash Bros. universe, Robin represents a unique, resource-management heavy-zoner archetype, standing out as one of the few fighters whose special moves and weapon attacks are governed by strict durability limits. In combat, Robin commands a unique hybrid style that seamlessly blends powerful elemental magic with close-quarters swordsmanship, requiring players to carefully manage the finite durability of their spellbooks and weapons. Their neutral special, Thunder, allows them to charge a magical spell through four distinct tiers—moving from a quick Thunder spark to Elthunder, Arcthunder, and finally the devastating, cross-stage Thoron beam that pierces through multiple opponents. Their side special, Arcfire, launches a localized burst of flame downward at an angle, bursting into a persistent, multi-hit pillar of fire upon impact that traps enemies and sets up lethal follow-up combinations. For defense, health restoration, and spacing, their down special, Nosferatu, acts as a rare command grab that drains life energy directly from an opponent to heal Robin's own damage percentages. When forced to recover from the deep depths of the stage, their up special, Elwind, fires two downward blades of wind magic to propel them high into the air while slicing any enemies caught beneath them. Robin's primary smash attacks utilize the devastating Levin Sword to deal immense electric damage, but once any spellbook or the sword flashes out of durability, Robin must temporarily fight with a weaker Bronze Sword and wait for their resources to automatically regenerate.
- #39Roy
Keys: Roy, fire emblem
Roy is the passionate, courageous, and intensely dedicated young Marquess of Pherae who debuted in the 2002 Japan-exclusive tactical role-playing game Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade and made a historic splash by entering the fighting arena in Super Smash Bros. Melee prior to his own game's release. Personality-wise, Roy is the ultimate embodiment of a hot-blooded, pure-hearted hero, radiating a boundless sense of determination, idealism, and deep empathy for both his soldiers and civilians. Despite his young age, he possesses an incredibly mature sense of leadership and an unyielding loyalty to his friends, always choosing to lead his army from the absolute front lines rather than shouting orders from the safety of the rear. He is polite, modest, and deeply driven by a desire for peace, yet he displays an explosive, roaring intensity in the heat of battle that perfectly matches the fiery nature of his weapon. Within Super Smash Bros., Roy represents the definitive lightweight rushdown sword fighter, celebrated for his blistering ground speed, immediate frame data, and a unique "reverse-tipper" mechanic that requires him to get up close and personal to deal maximum damage. In combat, Roy wields the legendary, dragon-slaying Binding Blade, utilizing an aggressive and frantic fencing style that rewards players for completely suffocating their opponents. His neutral special, Flare Blade, allows him to charge up an immense, explosive downward strike that can be held to unleash a cataclysmic, one-hit knockout explosion, dealing massive shield damage and self-inflicted recoil if fully charged. His side special, Double-Edge Dance, executes a blazing, customizable four-hit sword combination that players can manually angle upward to juggle enemies, straight to push them away, or downward to deliver a rapid flurry of stabs that rack up immense damage. For defense and punishing reckless aerial approaches, his down special, Counter, lets him enter a brief defensive stance to absorb an incoming physical strike and immediately retaliate with a fiery, horizontal slash scaled to the opponent's own attack power. When recovering from deep off-stage or searching for a surprise vertical stock ending, his up special, Blazer, launches him into a multi-hit, spinning upward leap infused with roaring flames that can be angled horizontally to plow through enemy setups. Because his sword deals massive bonus damage and knockback at the hilt of the blade rather than the tip, Roy's relentless rushdown pressure and explosive close-quarters power make him a terrifyingly dominant force on the battlefield.
- #40Ike
Keys: Ike, fire emblem
Ike is the stoic, fiercely independent, and blunt commander of the Greil Mercenaries. He debuted in the 2005 tactical role-playing game Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and brought his massive blade to the fighting arena in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Personality-wise, Ike stands out from traditional royalty through his complete lack of interest in noble titles, political intrigue, or royal etiquette, preferring the simple, honest life of a working mercenary. He possesses a tough, serious, and fiercely protective demeanor, caring deeply for the safety of his sister Mist and his comrades, and displaying an unyielding hatred for tyranny and racial prejudice. He speaks in a direct, no-nonsense manner that can border on rudeness, yet his immense humility, absolute bravery, and willingness to fight for the oppressed earn him the unwavering loyalty of everyone he meets. Within the Super Smash Bros. series, Ike represents the definitive heavyweight "mighty glacier" sword fighter, trading away rapid frame data for devastating, wide-sweeping slashes and unparalleled raw launching power. In the heat of battle, Ike wields the holy, two-handed greatsword Ragnell, utilizing a heavy, deliberate combat style that can easily turn the tide of a match with just a few successful hits. His neutral special, Eruption, allows him to plunge his blade into the ground to charge a massive, vertical geyser of blue flame that deals catastrophic damage, shatters shields, and releases a wider shockwave if fully charged, at the minor cost of slight self-inflicted recoil. His side special, Quick Draw, sees him enter a low stance to charge forward across the stage at lightning speed, executing a sudden horizontal slash upon contact that acts as both a terrifying burst movement option and a crucial horizontal recovery tool. For defense, his down special, Counter, lets him raise his heavy blade to absorb an incoming physical strike, immediately swinging back with a massive, slow-moving sweep that deals immense knockback scaled to the opponent's own strength. When forced to return to the stage or looking to crush a vertical juggle, his up special, Aether, tosses Ragnell high into the sky, leaps up to catch it while spinning in a multi-hit vortex, and crashes straight back down to the earth with an unstoppable downward slam. Ike's exceptional range, heavy armor properties, and terrifyingly strong aerial attacks make him a dominant and relentless juggernaut.

Personality-wise, K. Rool is a theatrical, unhinged tyrant driven by an obsessive envy of Donkey Kong, going so far as to repeatedly steal the Kongs' prized Banana Hoard just out of pure spite. He exhibits severe megalomania and an intense delusion of grandeur, frequently donning various alter-egos—such as a pirate captain, a mad scientist, or a royal monarch—and throwing dramatic, childish temper tantrums whenever his convoluted schemes fall apart. Despite his goofy, bulging golden eye and comical demeanor, he is a deeply sinister, ruthless, and cunning military dictator who commands a massive army and a mechanical island fortress capable of total destruction. Within Super Smash Bros., King K. Rool represents a devastating super-heavyweight fighter who uniquely blends standard powerhouse brawling with exceptional long-range zoning tools and a highly resilient armor mechanic. In the heat of battle, K. Rool utilizes his massive physical bulk alongside an arsenal of high-tech pirate weaponry to completely suppress his opponents. His neutral special, Blunderbuss, fires a slow, heavy cannonball across the stage, which he can immediately follow up by using the weapon's vacuum function to suck in nearby fighters, items, or his own projectile to shoot them out at a deadly angle. His side special, Crownerang, sees him hurl his heavy golden crown across the floor like a boomerang, providing excellent stage control and armor while it slices through enemies on its path out and back. For defense, his down special, Gut Check, utilizes his heavy golden belly plate to absorb incoming physical strikes or reflect projectiles, retaliating with a massive, bone-crushing counter-shove that sends opponents reeling. When recovering from the deepest depths of the stage, his up special, Propeller Pack, activates a high-tech helicopter backpack that propels his massive frame vertically with incredible distance, while the spinning blades overhead shred any opponents attempting to edge-guard him from above. King K. Rool's signature "Belly Armor" mechanic, which allows him to absorb massive attacks directly through his stomach without flinching, makes his aggressive, arrogant presence a terrifying wall to break down.

Within Super Smash Bros., he represents the original super-heavyweight brawler archetype, dominating the battlefield with his immense physical size, staggering raw launch power, and a uniquely devastating grapple game. In combat, Donkey Kong discards magical weapons and high-tech gadgets in favor of pure, unadulterated muscle and bone-shattering physical strikes. His neutral special, Giant Punch, allows him to wind up his massive arm like a windmill to store an immense amount of kinetic energy, unleashing a catastrophic, full-screen punch that can shatter shields and secure incredibly early knockouts. His side special, Headbutt, sees him slam his skull downward into the earth to forcefully bury grounded opponents into the dirt, leaving them completely helpless and open to a fully-charged smash attack. For stage control and anti-air defense, his down special, Hand Slap, violently thumps the ground to create massive, multi-hit shockwaves that pop enemies into the air, a move that can even be executed mid-aerial to spike recovering opponents deep into the bottom blast zone. When forced to return to safety or break out of a tight enemy combo, his up special, Spinning Kong, spins his massive arms into a rapid, helicopter-like whirlwind that grants excellent horizontal recovery and possesses heavy armor to plow straight through incoming attacks. Donkey Kong's signature Cargo Hold mechanic, which allows him to physically pick up opponents, carry them around on his back, and hurl them directly into the stage walls or off the ledge, makes his aggressive presence an absolute terror to face in close quarters.

Melee. In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, she sheds her older, somber designs to embrace a much more vibrant, youthful, and whimsical look based directly on her appearance in The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and A Link Between Worlds. Personality-wise, Zelda is the ultimate embodiment of royal grace, profound intellect, and deep-seated compassion, carrying herself with a gentle dignity while bearing an immense responsibility for the safety of her kingdom. Do not mistake her polite, soft-spoken demeanor and elegant royal gown for weakness; when evil forces threaten the realm, she exhibits an unwavering, fearless resolve and a commanding spiritual power. Within Super Smash Bros., Zelda represents a premier lightweight zoner and magical powerhouse, specializing in controlling the stage from a distance with devastating explosive spells while punishing close-quarters aggression with frame-perfect magical bursts. In the heat of battle, Zelda utilizes an array of powerful sorcery and ancient spells named after the legendary Golden Goddesses of Hyrule. Her neutral special, Nayru's Love, envelops her body in a spinning, crystalline barrier of divine energy that deflects incoming physical strikes and acts as a highly reliable reflector to send enemy projectiles speeding back at her foes. Her side special, Din's Fire, allows her to cast a small spark across the stage that players can manually guide through the air; upon releasing the button, it erupts into a massive, explosive fireball that deals maximum damage and knockback at the absolute peak of its range. For stage control, defense, and aggressive edge-guarding, her down special allows her to magically construct a Phantom Knight piece by piece, charging up a heavy armored sentinel that charges forward to slash through opponents, absorb hits, and completely wall out approaches. When forced to escape disadvantage or return to the stage, her up special, Farore's Wind, utilizes cosmic magic to make her vanish into a localized explosion before instantly teleporting a significant distance in any chosen direction, reappearing with a second magical blast that can secure unexpected vertical knockouts. Zelda's incredible launch power on her physical kicks, combined with her oppressive, magical stage traps, makes her an exceptionally elegant and dangerous threat.

His neutral special, Hero's Bow, fires light, fast arrows across the stage that travel in a distinct, looping arc, making them excellent for checking enemy movements and initiating fast combos from a distance. His side special, Boomerang, hurls a curved throwing blade that travels rapidly at a fixed angle, slicing through enemies on its path out and dealing damage on its return trip to constantly disrupt enemy positioning. For stage control and rapid combo damage, his down special allows him to pluck a cartoonish bomb from behind his back, which can be quickly thrown to create a fast, localized explosion that pops enemies upward into his ideal juggling range. When forced to recover from deep off-stage or looking to execute a rapid out-of-shield attack, his up special, Spin Attack, spins the legendary Master Sword into a rapid, multi-hit whirlwind that can be charged on the ground or used in the air for strong vertical lift. His side special, Monkey Flip, sees him leap forward in a wide arc to cling onto an opponent, giving him the option to either execute a continuous scratching command grab or leap off their head with a powerful kick. For defense and ultimate stage control, his down special allows him to pluck a Banana Peel and toss it onto the floor, creating a highly unique, tripping stage hazard that completely incapacitates opponents and opens them up to devastating, free follow-up combos. When recovering from deep off-stage, his up special, Rocketbarrel Boost, activates his high-tech wooden jetpack to propel him high into the sky along a customizable, curving trajectory, though hitting a wall can cause him to lose his barrels and fall into a helpless state. Within the Super Smash Bros. series, Wolf represents a premier heavyweight rushdown-zoner hybrid, trading the pure speed of Fox and Falco for heavier, bone-crushing physical attacks and unmatched mid-range stage control. In the heat of battle, Wolf combines high-tech galactic weaponry with feral, beast-like slashes from his razor-sharp claws. His neutral special, Blaster, fires a heavy, slow-moving laser bolt equipped with a bayonet blade at the tip of the gun, allowing the move to simultaneously shoot a projectile and strike close-range opponents with a powerful physical blow. His side special, Wolf Flash, sees him launch horizontally upward at a sharp diagonal angle, executing a lightning-fast streak that spikes airborne enemies down to their doom if it connects at the absolute sweet spot of the dash. For defense and counter-attacks, his down special utilizes his modified Reflector shield, generating a jagged magenta barrier that multiplies the speed and damage of incoming projectiles while giving Wolf a brief window of total invincibility. - #50Yoshi
Keys: yoshi, super mario
Yoshi is the boundlessly cheerful, intensely loyal, and famously helpful dinosaur hero who debuted in the 1990 Super Nintendo masterpiece Super Mario World and has stood proud as a founding pillar of the fighting roster since the original 1999 Super Smash Bros.. Personality-wise, Yoshi is the pure embodiment of happy-go-lucky optimism and innocent devotion, communicating through high-pitched squeaks, enthusiastic trills, and friendly waves. He possesses a remarkably gentle and selfless heart, famously serving as a protective guardian to Baby Mario and Baby Luigi while risking his life to carry them across dangerous islands. Despite his sweet-natured, peaceful demeanor and love for relaxing in tropical environments, he exhibits immense courage and an unflinching determination whenever his friends or his fellow dinosaurs are threatened, unleashing surprisingly fierce combat instincts. Within Super Smash Bros., Yoshi acts as a highly unique, heavyweight brawler disguised in a lightweight aesthetic, universally celebrated for possessing the highest natural air speed and most resilient double-jump armor on the entire roster. In combat, Yoshi combines his elastic tongue and heavy physical bulk to completely overwhelm opponents with a frantic, airborne rushdown style. His neutral special, Egg Lay, allows him to shoot his tongue forward to swallow a nearby opponent, trapping them inside a heavy, spotted egg that leaves them completely immobilized and vulnerable to free follow-up attacks on the stage floor. His side special, Egg Roll, sees him encase himself inside a protective shell to roll rapidly across the terrain, plowing through enemies with continuous horizontal hits. For zoning, stage control, and combo extensions, his down special utilizes his signature Ground Pound, sending him leaping vertically into the air before crashing down bottom-first to shatter enemy shields and release damaging star projectiles on impact. Unlike almost every other fighter on the roster, Yoshi lacks a traditional recovery move for his up special; instead, Egg Throw hurls exploding yarn or spotted eggs at customizable angles to control space, while he relies entirely on his massive, super-armored mid-air double jump to return to safety. Yoshi's unique shield mechanic, which encases him inside an unbreakable egg that prevents him from being poked, coupled with his devastating aerial attacks, makes him a highly chaotic and slippery threat to manage.
