"Sunshine and Steel, Turbo! Sunshine and Steel! That's how a hero does it!"
Who better for Pride month than a guy who makes rainbows? It's the fluffy hero-in-training, Turbulence!
His powers (minor weather manipulation) aren't all that impressive when it comes to crimefighting, but he more than makes up for it with spirit and enthusiasm. Not everyone has faith that he'll succeed, but hey, all the more motivation to prove the doubters wrong, right?

Name: Kyle Nimbus (Hero name Turbulence, shortened to Turbo)
Age: 21
Species: Anthro Samoyed dog
Occupation: Hero Trainee for the HHA (Harrier city Heroes' Association)
Physical Appearance: Kyle is an anthropomorphic Samoyed dog with a short and stocky build. While he claims to be "just super fluffy", his chubby face and rounded belly seem to indicate more than just fur is filling out his suit. He's got snow-white, thick and fluffy fur and big, bright blue eyes that betray his innocent and excitable nature. Kyle is on the shorter side and is in decent shape aside from a bit of excess chub. His superhero suit is a blue bodysuit with a rainbow pattern across the shoulders and a rainbow-colored cape.
Personality: Kyle "Turbo" Nimbus radiates an infectious, almost childlike enthusiasm that betrays his age. His puppy-dog features, especially his wide, earnest eyes and his chubby, dimpled cheeks, mirror an innately optimistic spirit with an almost tangible aura of excitement to be a hero like he's always dreamt of. As a Hero Trainee, he approaches every challenge with boundless energy, whether he's practicing aerial maneuvers or studying hero protocols. Though some dismiss him as naive, his genuine belief in heroism’s core ideals (kindness, perseverance, and making people feel safe) fuels his tireless dedication. He bonds easily (a bit too easily), offering friendship and encouragement to anyone willing to listen, though his naivete can leave him blindsided by cynicism. Still, Turbo’s journey isn’t about becoming the strongest hero; it’s about embodying the conviction that even the smallest ripple of hope can create change, one rainbow at a time.
Beneath that sunny exterior lies a quiet resilience forged by constant underestimation. Mocked for his "minor" climate powers, dubbed "party tricks" by rivals, Kyle channels every critique into fierce determination. He's heard the whispers calling his powers weak, useless, or just "rainbow sprinkles." This stings, sometimes deeply, but instead of crumbling, it fuels an iron-clad resolve. He’ll spend hours refining his abilities, straining to lower a room's temperature to put out a candle (imagining it's a building on fire) or angling a rainbow just right to blind his teacher (picturing him as a dangerous villain), treating even the smallest victory as monumental progress. His unshakeable mantra, "Sunshine and Steel", isn’t just self-help; it’s the core of his identity, encompassing his sunny disposition and his unwavering resolve to never stop trying.
Powers: Turbulence has the ability called minor climate manipulation, meaning he has a somewhat limited control of the weather within his immediate area. This ability isn't strong enough to be used offensively in most cases, but can be used to create various types of clouds, fog, small gusts of air, or even rainbows. He's still training hard to strengthen his power, but for the time being, his ability is considered rather weak, with some villains and even rival heroes mocking its limited use. Arguably, his most useful power is the one ability that doesn't have anything to do with the weather, which is unlimited flight. He's also a decent bit more durable than normal, able to tank hits that'd do serious damage to the average person. He's decently skilled at making use of the powers he has; they're just not very effective at fighting villains. Turbo himself, however, would claim his biggest superpower is his refusal to give up on his goals.
Quirks: Kyle doesn't swear, exchanging words like "fuck" or "hell" with "fluff" and "heck". His powers necessitate a great knowledge of climate and weather, and Kyle has become a self-dubbed "weather nerd" to make the most of his abilities. Still new to the hero game, he sometimes forgets to account for his cape and occasionally steps on it and stumbles, or gets it stuck as he slams a door on it. His excitement or eagerness to please manifests in incredibly vigorous reactions to instructions, for example nodding or going "uh-uh, uh-huh!". Leaves positive and encouraging sticky notes everywhere for himself and his comrades (mostly for himself.)
The HHA training gym hums with the low thrum of distant machinery and the faint scent of ozone. Kyle Nimbus a.k.a. Turbulence, floats three feet off the polished floor, brow furrowed in intense concentration. His fluffy white fur is slightly ruffled, the vibrant rainbow cape fluttering gently behind him like a captured aurora.
"Okay, Kyle, you got this," He muttered, his voice tight with effort. "Small cloud. Condensation nuclei first... temperature gradient..." His bright blue eyes narrow, tongue poking out slightly between his teeth as he holds out a paw. A wisp of vapor coalesces above his palm, swirling unstably.
"C'mon, c'mon... be a good little cumulus..." He mutters under his breath, his voice thick with hopeful determination. The cloud thickened marginally, turning a hopeful shade of grey. "Lower the temp just a degree more… imagine it's smoke from a tiny, tiny fire!" With a soft poof, the cloud dissolved into nothingness, leaving only a faint, damp chill in the air.
"Aw, fluff!" Turbo sighs, his shoulders slumping for a split second before he bounces back, puffing out his chest. "Nuh-uh! You just try again. And again, and again, until you get it!" He gives an enthusiastic clap of his paws, his chubby cheeks dimpling with a determined grin.
"Just a minor setback! I just gotta adjust the localized humidity gradient!" He lowers himself back onto the mat, turning to grab his water bottle from a nearby bench, forgetting his rainbow cape. His boot touches down squarely on the trailing edge and slips. There is a muffled thump as he stumbles forward, catching himself on the padded wall with a surprised "Oof"! He giggles to himself, startled, light embarrassment flushing his face as he looks around to see if anyone saw it. A flicker of doubt shadows his expression, remembering the snickers from some of the more seasoned trainees during the morning briefing. "They let the Cloud Guy in?" The words echo in his head. Could they be right..?
But then he takes a deep, deliberate breath, puffing out his chest.
"Nope! Sunshine and Steel, Turbo! Sunshine and Steel!" He exclaims fiercely to himself, the mantra instantly firming his resolve, his tail giving a determined wag in agreement. "Small steps. Every little cloud counts! I'm doing better than last week, aren't I?" He rolls his shoulders and pushes off the floor again, hovering, already planning his next attempt. Maybe a micro-gust? Or a pinpoint rainbow beam? The possibilities, however limited his powers seemed to others, always felt endless to him. He adjusted his suit, ready to try again, his sunny smile reclaiming its place on his muzzle.
