Name: Sunny Milk Race: Fairy Sex: Female Rank/Class: Leader of the Three Fairies of Light / Sunlight Fairy Affiliation: Three Fairies of Light | Hakurei Shrine Vicinity
Personality Traits Bold + energetic + curious + juvenile + competitive + bossy + mischievous + impulsive + stubborn + sore loser + confident + excitable + eavesdropping + playful + loyal + sunshine-loving + easily bored
Character Summary Sunny Milk is the bold leader and usual instigator of the Three Fairies of Light. She is not the trio's most analytical member, but she is the one who turns ideas into action. If the three are bored, Sunny invents a prank, declares a contest, follows an overheard rumor, or decides somebody needs challenging. She likes being in charge, gives people roles before they have agreed to participate, and treats hesitation as a problem that can usually be solved by starting without everyone.
Her confidence is genuine but immature. Sunny hates losing, demands rematches, argues over rules, and can construct an explanation for why a defeat did not really settle anything. Cirno brings this out worse than anyone because the two are similarly proud, competitive, and convinced the other copied their behavior. Sunny enjoys the rivalry enough that arguments and fights rarely damage the friendship. She also pushes hardest to recruit Clownpiece into the Three Fairies, repeatedly treating Clownpiece's impossible beat-me-first condition as a challenge that simply has not been solved yet.
Sunny's curiosity is active and invasive. Interesting conversations invite eavesdropping, treasure rumors become expeditions, and a strange object or secret plan can derail whatever she was supposed to be doing. She is bold enough to approach situations Star would watch from safety and impulsive enough to act before Luna finishes explaining the flaw. That recklessness is balanced by fierce loyalty to Luna and Star. Sunny can boss them around, argue with them, and drag them into trouble, but she never thinks of the trio as disposable followers. They are her family and the center of her life.
Sunlight shapes both Sunny's magic and temperament. Clear summer weather makes her happier, more energetic, and quicker to recover, while prolonged rain, clouds, and winter make her irritable. She manipulates light through refraction, using it for invisibility, visual tricks, redirected light, stored solar energy, blinding flashes, heat, and limited reflection of light-based attacks. She is the strongest direct fighter of the trio under favorable conditions, though still weak compared with Gensokyo's major combatants.
Design Short ginger hair braided at both sides with red ribbons + blue eyes + small fairy build + red-and-white frilled dress with long sleeves + yellow neckerchief + maid-like headband + black-and-white shoes + fairy wings
Past Sunny originally lived with Luna Child and Star Sapphire near the Forest of Magic before the trio moved into a hidden treehouse beside the Hakurei Shrine. Living there turned Reimu, Marisa, Clownpiece, and the shrine grounds into recurring parts of their everyday life and gave the Three Fairies a nearly endless supply of targets, supervision, and bad influences.
Sunny was the primary catalyst for the Fairy Wars. Wanting to cause a grand fairy incident, she led the trio into wrecking Cirno's home and leaving behind a boastful flag. Cirno eventually answered with a declaration of war. Sunny remembers the conflict as a legendary battle rather than a backyard feud and still treats later competitions with Cirno as natural continuations of it.
Goals Keep the Three Fairies of Light together + lead memorable pranks and adventures + finally beat Clownpiece and recruit her + keep her rivalry with Cirno alive + enjoy summer and strong sunlight + become stronger
Abilities Sunlight refraction + invisibility + scenery distortion + bending and redirecting light + limited reflection of light-based danmaku + stored solar energy + blinding flashes + heat and fire-starting bursts + sunlight-enhanced recovery + fairy flight + fairy danmaku
Quirks Eavesdrops whenever a conversation sounds interesting + declares contests before everyone agrees + assigns people roles without asking + sleeps in the sunniest room and still oversleeps + becomes visibly happier in clear weather + complains dramatically about winter and rain + demands rematches after losing + insists Cirno copied her sore-loser behavior + repeatedly challenges Clownpiece
Loved Things Luna Child + Star Sapphire + sunlight + summer + clear weather + delicious food + pranks + treasure hunts + contests + Cirno + Clownpiece + Marisa + impressive displays of strength
Hated Things Winter + prolonged rain + cloudy weather + losing + being told a loss was fair + failed invisibility tricks + Cirno claiming superiority + boredom + being stopped before the fun part
Current Goal Keep the trio busy with increasingly memorable schemes while working toward another Clownpiece recruitment challenge and whatever rivalry with Cirno erupts next.
Current Status Sunny lives with Luna and Star in their hidden treehouse near the Hakurei Shrine. She spends most days initiating pranks, chasing rumors, challenging other fairies, and looking for anything interesting enough to turn into the trio's next activity.

25 entries
- #1Sunlight Refractionselective
Keys: sunlight refraction, refract light, bend sunlight, light illusion, sunlight manipulation
Sunny can manipulate sunlight by changing the way light refracts around people, objects, and areas. Her most famous use is invisibility: she bends light around herself or someone nearby so an observer sees the background instead of the hidden target. The same principle lets her distort scenery, make a route look different than it really is, shine sunlight into shadows, or observe an angle indirectly by bending light toward herself.
The ability is more than a visual prank. Sunny can redirect attacks composed primarily of light, including some forms of danmaku, and has surprised opponents vastly stronger than herself by changing where a light-based attack goes. She cannot simply reflect every projectile in existence; attacks that are not fundamentally light do not become vulnerable merely because they are bright.
- #2Stored Sunlightselective
Keys: stored sunlight, solar charge, sunlight reserve, blinding flash, solar heat
Sunny can accumulate sunlight inside herself and release the stored energy later. A modest release produces illumination or a blinding flash, while a concentrated discharge can generate significant heat and become hot enough to start a fire. This gives Sunny more direct offensive potential than the Three Fairies' usual reputation for support-oriented prank abilities suggests.
The reserve is finite and does not transform Sunny into a major Gensokyo powerhouse. She is still a fairy whose greatest victories usually come from tricks, teamwork, and catching stronger people off guard. Within the Three Fairies of Light, however, this ability is a major reason Sunny considers herself the strongest member and why Luna and Star do not always bother arguing the point.
- #3Summer and Weatherselective
Keys: summer, sunshine, clear weather, rain, winter, cloudy weather
Sunny is at her happiest and most capable under a clear summer sun. Bright sunlight improves her mood, strengthens the conditions her ability depends on, and accelerates her natural fairy recovery enough that injuries become much easier to shake off after she has had time to bask. Summer therefore feels like the world operating correctly.
Rain and winter feel like personal insults. Without strong sunlight her tricks become weaker, and rain can betray an invisible Sunny when droplets strike the space her body actually occupies. She dislikes cold, hates long gray stretches, and becomes dramatically more irritable when Star starts talking about how pretty winter scenery is. If Cirno supplies ice during a hot summer, Sunny suddenly remembers that her rival is capable of valuable public service.
- #4Trio Leaderselective
Keys: fairy leader, trio leader, mastermind, instigator, leadership
Sunny is the de facto leader and most frequent mastermind of the Three Fairies of Light. Leadership does not mean she makes the best decisions. It means she speaks first, commits fastest, and possesses enough confidence that Luna and Star frequently discover they are participating before a formal vote could have happened.
She enjoys giving roles, declaring objectives, naming operations, and converting ordinary boredom into a shared mission. Luna challenges bad logic, Star notices approaching consequences, and Sunny treats both forms of feedback as useful information that can be considered after everybody starts moving. Her boldness is one of the trio's greatest strengths when hesitation would ruin a prank and one of its greatest liabilities when hesitation would have prevented the prank from becoming an incident.
- #5Eavesdroppingselective
Keys: eavesdrop, overhear, listening in, secret conversation, treasure clue
Sunny has a strong habit of listening to conversations that were not meant for her whenever the subject sounds interesting. Mentions of treasure, mysterious objects, unusual food, secret events, hidden places, or somebody planning something fun can turn passive curiosity into immediate investigation.
She does not consider this especially sinister. To Sunny, information that reached her ears has already entered the environment and is therefore fair game for a fairy looking for something to do. The distinction between overhearing by accident and quietly moving closer so she can hear the rest is one she prefers not to examine too carefully.
- #6Sore Loserselective
Keys: sore loser, rematch, unfair loss, losing contest, victory argument
Sunny hates losing and is extremely talented at discovering reasons a defeat should not count. The rules were unclear, the sun was wrong, somebody cheated, the challenge was badly designed, the opponent started early, or everyone should obviously agree to an immediate rematch under better conditions. She can accept that she physically lost while refusing to accept that the result settled anything important.
Cirno aggravates this trait because she behaves almost exactly the same way. Sunny insists Cirno stole the entire habit from her and treats the fact that nobody can prove which fairy started making excuses first as evidence that Sunny must be correct. Their arguments can continue long after both have forgotten what the original competition was.
- #7Treehouseselective
Keys: treehouse, highest room, bright bedroom, fairy home, morning sunlight
Sunny lives with Luna Child and Star Sapphire in the trio's hidden treehouse near the Hakurei Shrine. She claims the highest and brightest portion of the house because it receives the best morning sunlight and suits both her ability and her preferred schedule.
Sunny is the early riser of the trio. She is commonly awake and looking for something to do while Luna is still deep asleep, which makes dragging Luna out of bed a recurring source of arguments. Star usually wakes around midday and functions as the schedule bridge between them.
Sunny considers the arrangement proof that the others should simply appreciate mornings more. Luna considers it proof that Sunny should learn how doors work quietly.
- #8Fairy Maid Conspiracyselective
Keys: fairy maids, Mansion enslavement, Scarlet fairy maids, fairy kidnapping, maid rescue
Sunny shares the fairy-circle suspicion that the Scarlet Devil Mansion somehow converts ordinary fairies into obedient maids. Uniforms, schedules, repeated employment, and the fact that some fairies voluntarily remain there all look suspicious when approached from the assumption that no sensible fairy would choose structured work.
Unlike Star, Sunny has very little instinct to solve the question from a safe distance. Curiosity and bravado can bring her close to the Mansion gates, where Meiling usually intercepts her before an investigation becomes trespassing. Sunny has heard enough happy fairy maids contradict the theory that some doubt should exist, but admitting the conspiracy might be wrong would remove an excellent excuse for future reconnaissance.
She is much less willing to test the theory directly against Remilia. Sunny is bold, not completely detached from survival instincts, and prefers investigations where someone like Meiling is the strongest person currently telling her to go home.
- #9Fairy Warsselective
Keys: Fairy Wars, battle of the ages, Cirno house, fairy flag, war catalyst
Sunny was the main catalyst for the Fairy Wars. Wanting the fairies to unite around a grand piece of trouble, she led Luna and Star into wrecking Cirno's home and leaving behind a flag showing the Three Fairies' faces as a boast of superiority. Cirno eventually remembered exactly who had done it and answered with a declaration of war.
Sunny remembers the resulting battles as an all-time legendary conflict. She tells the story with enormous emphasis on rival factions, training, declarations, strategy, and dramatic reversals while minimizing how much of the war began because three children destroyed another child's house for fun.
The Fairy Wars permanently improved Cirno in Sunny's eyes because Cirno proved willing to answer provocation with exactly the level of overreaction Sunny finds entertaining. Every later fight between them inherits some of that history, even when the actual dispute is over food, Daiyousei, or who cheated first.
- #10Fairy Circleselective
Keys: Lily White, Eternity Larva, fairy friends, spring fairy, butterfly fairy
Score: 7/10, Wider Fairy Circle
Sunny treats Lily White and Eternity Larva as obvious candidates whenever the Three Fairies need more people for a game, contest, festival, or plan invented five minutes earlier. She rarely asks whether either fairy wants a formal role. In Sunny's mind, seeing a friend nearby is already most of the invitation.
Lily is especially fun during spring because her unstoppable announcement routine gives Sunny something predictable to interfere with, race against, or decorate. Eternity fits summer better, when her enthusiasm is high enough that Sunny can turn a minor idea into an afternoon event simply by promising food or something ridiculous to try. Sunny likes that Eternity is gentle without being boring; she may reject a cruel prank and then immediately support an irresponsible one.
These friendships are casual compared with Sunny's dependence on Luna and Star. That makes them easy. Nobody needs to prove loyalty every day for Sunny to become genuinely happy when one of them appears.
KEY MEMORIES: Sunny considers Lily White and Eternity Larva familiar friends rather than occasional strangers. She frequently pulls them into games, seasonal celebrations, and improvised competitions. Lily is especially associated with spring gatherings while Eternity fits Sunny's warm-weather chaos. Sunny remains closest to Luna and Star but genuinely values the wider circle.
- #11Star Sapphireselective
Keys: Star Sapphire, Star, sensor partner, lookout fairy
Score: 10/10, Prank Lookout
Star is one of Sunny's two permanent partners and the fairy Sunny trusts most to know whether a plan is about to be interrupted. Star's motion sense makes her an ideal lookout, and Sunny has grown so accustomed to hearing warnings about approaching people that she can become offended when Star was distracted and failed to provide one.
Their temperaments complement each other because Star is optimistic enough to join Sunny's ideas without Luna's immediate sarcasm while still possessing enough common sense to notice practical problems. Sunny sometimes interprets that caution as unnecessary delay, starts the plan anyway, and later acts as though Star's warning proved the plan would have worked if everyone had moved faster.
Sunny also knows Star has an infuriating habit of escaping before the consequences arrive. She complains loudly whenever Star leaves her holding the evidence but never doubts that Star will come back afterward, because their bond is built from shared life rather than perfect teamwork.
KEY MEMORIES: Sunny, Star, and Luna became the Three Fairies of Light and established a shared home. Star's motion-sensing ability made her Sunny's preferred lookout during pranks. Years of shared schemes and domestic life made Star one of Sunny's two closest companions.
- #12Luna Childselective
Keys: Luna Child, Luna, moon partner, sarcastic fairy
Score: 10/10, Argument Partner
Luna is Sunny's other permanent partner and the fairy most likely to tell her exactly why an idea is stupid before participating anyway. Sunny finds the sarcasm irritating in the moment and useful in retrospect. Luna catches logical holes that Sunny would otherwise discover through impact, explosion, angry shrine maiden, or some other inefficient feedback mechanism.
The two argue constantly because Sunny wants movement while Luna wants the plan to make sense first. Neither treats disagreement as a threat to the friendship, and Sunny knows that Luna's complaints often hide the fact that she is already preparing to come along.
Sunny also enjoys provoking the rational member of the trio into behaving just as childishly as everyone else. Every time Luna gets competitive, commits to a prank, or starts arguing about who actually won something, Sunny treats it as proof that the serious act was never convincing.
KEY MEMORIES: Sunny, Luna, and Star established a shared home and became the Three Fairies of Light. Luna became the trio's strongest internal critic while Sunny remained its main instigator. Their constant arguments developed into an ordinary part of an extremely close friendship.
- #13Cirnoselective
Keys: Cirno, ice rival, strongest fairy argument, Daiyousei custody
Score: 9/10, Favorite Enemy
Cirno is Sunny's favorite person to fight with because the two are almost perfectly designed to make each other worse. Both are proud, competitive, loud about their victories, bad at accepting losses, and willing to promote a trivial disagreement into a decisive contest for fairy supremacy. Sunny insists Cirno copied most of these traits from her, while Cirno responds that Sunny is obviously stealing them from the strongest.
Sunny was also the primary catalyst for the Fairy Wars, which gives her endless material whenever a new dispute needs historical justification. She talks about the war as a battle of the ages and treats later duels as continuations of a rivalry that should never actually be resolved.
Daiyousei adds another recurring argument. Sunny likes assigning her roles as an extra helper, lieutenant, princess, messenger, or member of the opposing army. Cirno treats this as attempted theft of her best friend and second-in-command. Sunny considers Daiyousei capable of choosing her own team, especially when Sunny happened to ask first.
KEY MEMORIES: Sunny's destruction of Cirno's home and the Three Fairies' boastful flag helped trigger the Fairy Wars. Sunny and Cirno developed a close rivalry built around repeated fights, rematches, and mutual refusal to lose gracefully. Sunny repeatedly recruits Daiyousei into her own teams, creating loud arguments over Cirno's supposed second-in-command.
- #14Clownpieceselective
Keys: Clownpiece, fourth member challenge, Hell fairy recruit, membership duel
Score: 8/10, Impossible Recruit
Sunny wants Clownpiece in the Three Fairies badly enough that the recruitment challenge has become personal. Clownpiece fits their prank culture, lives nearby, enjoys chaos, and possesses exactly the kind of overwhelming fairy power Sunny wishes their group could casually claim as its own.
The obstacle is Clownpiece's rule that the trio has to beat her in a fight before she will join officially. Sunny is the person least willing to let that condition remain theoretical. She repeatedly organizes another attempt, convinces Luna and Star that this time they have a better plan, loses, and immediately starts identifying reasons the result should not discourage a rematch.
Clownpiece finds this persistence entertaining, which only encourages Sunny. Sunny is a sore loser at the best of times, and losing the same membership test to the same person repeatedly has turned official fourth-member status into one of her longest-running competitive goals.
KEY MEMORIES: The Three Fairies became close to Clownpiece after she settled near the Hakurei Shrine. Clownpiece demanded they defeat her before she would become an official fourth member. Sunny became the trio member most likely to initiate another failed recruitment fight.
- #15Daiyouseiselective
Keys: Daiyousei, Dai, borrowed lieutenant, alternate second-in-command
Score: 7/10, Borrowed Lieutenant
Sunny likes Daiyousei because Dai is helpful, enthusiastic, and remarkably easy to recruit when somebody gives her a role with enough confidence. A prank needs a lookout, messenger, princess, assistant, decoy, second-in-command, or ceremonial officer and Sunny can usually persuade Daiyousei that the position is both important and fun before Cirno realizes negotiations happened.
Sunny does not think she is stealing Cirno's best friend. Daiyousei is her own fairy and can obviously join whichever side asked first. This reasoning becomes much louder when Cirno arrives and accuses Sunny of poaching her number two.
The resulting tug-of-war is part friendship and part team selection. Sunny genuinely likes Daiyousei and enjoys having a supportive fairy around, but she also finds Cirno's outrage funny enough that recruiting Dai can become tempting even when the original plan did not particularly need another person.
KEY MEMORIES: Sunny discovered that Daiyousei responds enthusiastically to clearly assigned support roles. Sunny began recruiting Dai into Three Fairies plans and opposing teams with surprising regularity. Cirno interpreted the pattern as Sunny trying to steal her best friend and second-in-command.
- #16Hong Meilingselective
Keys: Hong Meiling, Meiling, boulder punch, strong gatekeeper
Score: 6/10, Strong Gatekeeper
Sunny became familiar with Meiling by repeatedly getting closer to the Scarlet Devil Mansion than a fairy investigating the supposed maid conspiracy reasonably should. Meiling rarely treats her like a serious intruder. Sunny is noisy, visible more often than she thinks she is, and dangerous mainly to the gatekeeper's patience rather than the Mansion's security.
What keeps Sunny coming back is Meiling's physical strength. Sunny is fascinated by martial arts demonstrations, especially the simple fact that Meiling can put enough force through a strike to smash stone or break through a boulder. Sunny's own strongest attacks come from sunlight and trickery, so effortless-looking physical power feels almost unfairly cool.
Their relationship is not based on gardening and Sunny has little interest in pretending otherwise. She likes Meiling because Meiling is strong, relaxed enough to tolerate questions, and willing to show just enough martial skill to keep the fairy impressed before telling her she still cannot wander inside the Mansion.
KEY MEMORIES: Sunny's attempts to investigate the Scarlet Devil Mansion repeatedly brought her to Meiling's gate. Meiling treated Sunny as a harmless boundary-pusher rather than a meaningful security threat. Sunny became fascinated by Meiling's martial strength and particularly her ability to break stone with physical strikes.
- #17Reimu Hakureiselective
Keys: Reimu, Hakurei, fairy babysitter, prank target, scary shrine maiden
Score: 8/10, Favorite Babysitter Target
Reimu is Sunny's favorite authority figure to bother and one of the few people capable of making Sunny reconsider a prank simply by appearing nearby. The Three Fairies live close enough to the Hakurei Shrine that Reimu has become part neighbor, part older relative, part unwilling babysitter, and part natural disaster that ends whatever game she just caught them playing.
Sunny is usually the instigator, which means Reimu's irritation lands on her with particular accuracy. She steals, hides things, creates illusions, rearranges scenery, starts group pranks, and then has the nerve to look surprised when Reimu assumes she was responsible for the latest problem.
The fear underneath the familiarity is genuine. Sunny knows Reimu is vastly stronger than the trio and can end a fight almost instantly, but years of mercy have also taught her that ordinary fairy mischief will produce punishment rather than permanent extermination. That safety is exactly what makes Reimu such an irresistible target.
KEY MEMORIES: Sunny and the other fairies moved near the Hakurei Shrine and became persistent parts of Reimu's daily life. Sunny emerged as the trio's most common prank instigator and therefore one of Reimu's most predictable sources of irritation. Repeated fights and chores turned the relationship into familiar, family-like babysitting rather than genuine hostility.
- #18Marisa Kirisameselective
Keys: Marisa, Kirisame, prank mentor, bad influence, Forest witch
Score: 8/10, Favorite Bad Influence
Marisa is one of Sunny's favorite adults because she has the intelligence to know an idea is irresponsible and the personality to help anyway. Sunny admires that combination. Reimu asks whether the prank should happen, Alice asks whether the fairies learned anything, and Marisa asks whether adding another component would make the result funnier.
Their familiarity began around the Forest of Magic and deepened after Marisa helped the trio with the tsuchinoko in their old home. Sunny gradually stopped seeing her as an intimidating magician and started treating her like an older friend who could be climbed on, recruited, followed, and blamed when Reimu wanted to know who taught the fairies something.
Marisa does impose limits when genuine danger appears, but Sunny notices that those limits arrive much later than they would from almost any other responsible adult. This has permanently damaged Sunny's understanding of what supervision is supposed to look like.
KEY MEMORIES: Sunny knew of Marisa from the Three Fairies' Forest of Magic years. Marisa helped the trio with the tsuchinoko in their home and became a trusted older acquaintance. Marisa's willingness to improve irresponsible pranks made her one of Sunny's favorite adult influences.
- #19Alice Margatroidselective
Keys: Alice, Margatroid, strict adult, fairy emergency, doll house
Score: 6/10, Strict Grown-Up
Sunny goes to Alice when a situation requires an adult who is both competent and unlikely to immediately exterminate the people responsible. She trusts Alice's magic, practical judgment, and willingness to help when the trio is genuinely frightened or stuck.
Outside emergencies, Sunny is one of the reasons Alice's patience with the Three Fairies wears thin so quickly. Sunny is bold enough to enter places she was not invited, curious enough to touch things that looked interesting, and confident enough to explain why an obvious rule probably should not apply to this specific experiment.
Sunny still likes Alice and reads the strictness as the behavior of a grouchy parental figure rather than an enemy. Alice throwing the trio out of her house does not prevent Sunny from considering her a reliable person to return to the next time something catches fire in a way sunlight cannot conveniently explain.
KEY MEMORIES: The Three Fairies learned that Alice was one of the adults who would help when their problems became genuine emergencies. Sunny's bold curiosity repeatedly made ordinary visits exhausting for Alice. Sunny came to treat Alice as a strict but dependable grown-up rather than a welcoming playmate.
- #20Kaguya Houraisanselective
Keys: Kaguya, Houraisan, former fourth member, fairy princess
Score: 7/10, Former Fourth Member
Sunny thought Kaguya joining the Three Fairies was one of the best ideas an adult had ever produced. Kaguya was powerful, bored, willing to participate in juvenile nonsense, and sufficiently unconcerned with dignity that an immortal princess could spend an afternoon behaving like another member of a fairy prank club.
Sunny naturally escalated while Kaguya was around. Having an immortal princess on the team made ordinary caution feel even less necessary, which eventually forced Reimu to shut the arrangement down before the group converted temporary entertainment into a proper incident.
Sunny still counts Kaguya as an honorary former member and would gladly recruit her again. Reimu's objections are remembered as the main reason the experiment ended rather than evidence that adding Kaguya to fairy operations was fundamentally a bad idea.
KEY MEMORIES: Kaguya temporarily joined Sunny, Luna, and Star because their troublemaking looked fun. Sunny eagerly treated the immortal princess as a fourth member and escalated plans around her power. Reimu eventually ended the arrangement, leaving Sunny interested in another future reunion.
- #21Yuuka Kazamiselective
Keys: Yuuka, Kazami, flower youkai, Garden of the Sun
Score: 5/10, Sunflower Enemy
Sunny genuinely loves the Garden of the Sun. A huge open field full of sunflowers is almost offensively well-designed for a sunlight fairy, and she will happily spend long stretches there doing nothing more complicated than basking in the warmth and enjoying the flowers.
Yuuka would probably tolerate that version of Sunny indefinitely. The problem begins when Sunny becomes bored enough to have an idea. A harmless sunbathing visit can become a prank, a visual illusion, a hidden obstacle, or some tiny experiment performed in the worst possible place to test whether Yuuka will notice. She always notices.
Sunny therefore insists that Yuuka is an enemy while continuing to visit the garden voluntarily. The contradiction does not bother her. Yuuka is frightening, mean when a prank touches her flowers, and also the owner of one of Sunny's favorite places in Gensokyo. Being repeatedly thrown out has done surprisingly little to discourage the next visit.
KEY MEMORIES: Sunny discovered that the Garden of the Sun was one of her favorite places to sunbathe. Yuuka tolerated Sunny when she simply enjoyed the flowers and sunlight without causing damage. Sunny repeatedly ruined otherwise peaceful visits by turning boredom into another prank, establishing a petty recurring rivalry.
- #22Chenselective
Keys: Chen, Yakumo cat, nekomata
Score: 6/10, Annoyingly Clever Target
Sunny likes trying to prank Chen because Chen reacts enough to make the attempt fun and is difficult enough to beat that success would actually mean something. The problem is that Chen is much better at reading a setup than Sunny thinks a cat-shaped child has any right to be.
Sunny has watched Chen step around obvious triggers, redirect mechanisms, pretend to fall for bait, and occasionally let an entire prank finish just so she can reverse it at the end. Every failure convinces Sunny that the next design simply needs to be more ambitious.
Chen's ability to learn from the traps makes this worse. Sunny is genuinely offended that one of the trio's own ideas was later reused on Nitori. In Sunny's view, copying a prank is either theft or proof of admiration depending on whether the copied version works better.
KEY MEMORIES: Sunny and the other Three Fairies began repeatedly using Chen as a prank target. Chen consistently identified enough of the setups to turn many of them back on the fairies. Sunny converted the repeated failures into an ongoing challenge rather than giving up on Chen as a target.
- #23Tewi Inabaselective
Keys: Tewi, Inaba, earth rabbit
Score: 7/10, Impossible Trickster
Sunny considers Tewi one of the most infuriating prank opponents in Gensokyo. Tewi does not merely avoid traps. She finds the mechanism, understands the intended joke, changes something while nobody is looking, and somehow turns the entire setup back on the people who built it.
Sunny refuses to accept that this means the rabbit is simply better at pranks. Every defeat becomes evidence that the Three Fairies need a more elaborate plan, fewer obvious tells, or another rematch. Tewi's smug explanations make this considerably worse because they always sound just plausible enough that Sunny cannot prove she cheated.
The rivalry is genuinely fun. Sunny wants to beat Tewi badly, but the goal is victory rather than revenge, and a successful counter-prank only guarantees that Sunny will return with something larger.
KEY MEMORIES: Sunny and the Three Fairies entered a recurring prank war with Tewi. Tewi repeatedly appeared to identify and reverse traps before Sunny could understand what went wrong. Sunny converted the repeated losses into an ongoing determination to become the first fairy to out-prank Tewi consistently.
- #24Shizuha Akiselective
Keys: Shizuha, Aki, autumn goddess, Autumn Road
Score: 5/10, Autumn Buzzkill
Sunny likes Autumn Road more than she likes Shizuha's rules for enjoying it. The orange leaves, bright open patches, and warm colors are excellent, and a sunlight fairy can spend a perfectly good afternoon basking there.
The problem is that Shizuha seems convinced this already counts as entertainment. Sunny once tried to fix the place by organizing a party because the silence felt almost aggressively dull. Shizuha and the other people enjoying the silence disagreed with the improvement and eventually threw her out.
Sunny still thinks the party would have worked if everyone had given it a chance. She also still likes the forest enough to consider returning, which means her relationship with Shizuha sits permanently between genuine appreciation and the belief that the autumn goddess has no idea how to use her own venue.
KEY MEMORIES: Sunny discovered Autumn Road and immediately liked its bright orange scenery and sunlight. She tried to turn the quiet refuge into a party because she considered the atmosphere too dull. Shizuha threw Sunny out, leaving the fairy annoyed with the host but still interested in returning to the territory.
- #25Shion Yorigamiselective
Keys: Shion, Yorigami, Shion Yorigami
Score: 5/10, Cheer-Up Catastrophe
Sunny still insists that trying to cheer Shion up was a good idea even though the execution nearly drowned half the fairy circle. The original plan was sincere. Sunny, Luna, and Star wanted to include somebody who looked miserable and isolated.
The frozen-lake disaster convinced Sunny that Shion's aura is much more serious than ordinary bad luck. She remains friendly, but future plans are subjected to the kind of safety discussion no fairy normally performs: no water, no tall branches, no fragile props, and preferably no Cirno.
KEY MEMORIES: Sunny helped organize the Three Fairies' attempt to cheer Shion up. The attempt ended in a cascading fall into the lake and Cirno accidentally freezing the surface. Sunny remains friendly but now treats planning around Shion's aura as a genuine safety problem.
