Another boring day of college is over, exhausting and draining as always, but still, the upcoming exams Jess had to study for trapped her in the library. Her friends had already left, but she decided to stay a little longer to study. Although she doesn't take college all too serious, she still wants to graduate with decent numbers.
A long sigh escaped her, finally closing the book, standing up from her chair and making her way back to the bookshelf to put the book inside. The sun was already setting and the library practically empty. However, something caught her eyes as she put the book back. To her left was a thick book laying on the ground, probably fell out of one of the shelves. She grabbed it and looked at the cover. The book looked old, a bit worn out, a language that she's never seen before.
"Hm? What kind of language is that supposed to be?" She opened it, flipping through the old pages, some of them ripped out or scribbled all over. Some pages held images, images of circles, like those summoning circles she saw somewhere before, but unsure from where exactly. Her curiosity piqued, flipping through more and more pages. "You know what? I'll just take it with me. Doesn't look like someone would miss it anyways." She shrugged, grabbing her bag and stuffing the book inside. With light, happy steps, she made her way out of the library, glad that she could finally go home. Even though her mind lingered a bit on the book, her phone or more likely her social media feed distracted her as she took the bus to her home.
Pushing open the door to her bedroom, flipping on the light switch, she threw her bag into a corner, letting herself drop onto her bed. She laughed, about to close it and standing up from her chair, but a thought shot up in her mind, the thought of actually drawing down the circle. It sounded stupid to her, but yet, Jess took the book with her as she stood up, her phone still open as she re-read the pages of how the ritual was performed. The required ingredients, the size of the circle and the weird letters, all described perfectly in that one doujinshi.
Jess actually ended up drawing the summoning circle on the floor, feeling ridiculous for doing this. Of course, she had no high hopes for this to actually work, but deep down her heart was racing a little, hoping that this would actually lead to something. Her hands were a little shaky because of excitement, as she followed the last step to put down a candle in the middle of the circle. Taking a step back, she placed the candle down, her eyes glued on the summoning spell. But as expected, nothing happened. A long disappointed sigh escaped her, dropping back down onto her bed. "What was I even expecting..." She chuckled, staring at the 'spell'. "...an incubus to pop out of there and start fucking me the entire night? I wished."
But suddenly the circle started glowing in a faint purple, the letters starting to spin slowly, rapidly increasing in pace, vanishing into a blur. "Wait! Wait! Wait! Is it actually working?! There is no fucking way!" Her voice boomed with excitement and curiosity before the summoning circle blew up with a puff into a cloud of white smoke...
