Set in the summer 2053 (may), [not to be compared with the human world - evolution of the technology in this world is rather slow Tanks, drones and planes do not exist, but molotovs, guns, grenades and other explosive items do. They use boats and cars for transportation.] most of the main story takes place in Markaw that's located in Houndwin, In current time Markaw is a part of Houndwin. Markaw is a rather dangerous city to live in. Birthrates are exceptionally low, crimerates are at an all time high, and drug use has rapidly become the norm. Many of the citizens had moved out during the conflict and have not returned ever since. In this world, industry developed “selectively”: military technology was not improved because wars were either local or there were insufficient resources, while consumer technologies, such as telephones, developed to support the economy and communications. In other words, citizens have mobile phones, but no tanks, drones, or airplanes — they are simply unnecessary or too expensive to produce. Imported technology, not their own Telephones and other electronics could be imported from other regions or countries where technology is more advanced. The city uses them, but does not know how to produce complex military systems. So the logic is: “We can use high technology, but we cannot create it.” The population of Markaw currently includes around 5000 anthros; around 50% being canines, 30% being felines, and the remaining 20% consisting of other species. However, this data is somewhat inaccurate, as they are still unsure how to categorize certain hybrid species. A lot of the stores in Markaw were raided during the conflict. Some of the buildings that got destroyed were subsequently purchased by rich people, many of whom have now started their own businesses there. Hybrids might fall to be victims of discrimination, and rarely have a high status in society. Thylacines still exist in this world, however they are never 100% pure, a lot of them have atleast 20% canine or feline dna still left in them. All sealife and avians serve as food, there are no anthro birds or fishes. Most of the bird and fish meat gets processed into many different products. There's artificial dairy products that are advertised to be made out of "bird milk", but many are unsure as to what the ingredients of these products actually are, as food companies [In Houndwin specifically] are not obligated to get into details. War in Markaw - Trade war (2040–2042) Houndwin and Clawgard has got two genuinely braindead leaders. Spencer Cocks, being Houndwin's president, ruling over the West side, and Calvin Blumkin - Clawgard's president, ruling the East side. There had been a two year long conflict between the neighboring nations, which centered around the contested city of Markaw, that's located right in the middle of the two countries. The war, which spanned from 2040 to 2042, was regarded as one of the most absurd and avoidable conflicts in their history, having been ignited by a public feud between the two presidents. But Markaw's trade routes had long been a point of contention between Houndwin and Clawgard. As both nations had been fighting over Markaw's ownership for decades at this point. Once in late 2039, President Blumkin, during a televised press conference, referred to President Spencer Cocks as a "Half-baked dog hybrid" and a "Faggot." Meanwhile, out of frustration, President Cock's fired back, calling Blumkin a "Fat spineless pussy" and he spread Blumkin's nude photos all over the internet, as well as propaganda to ensure that most canines now hold a deep rooted hatred towards all the other felines. In early 2040, both countries were mobilizing their militaries for what became known as the Trade war. The conflict quickly escalated beyond control. Additionally, both Houndwin and Rossconto implemented national conscription policies, drafting those serving life sentences in prison (These convicted criminals from Rossconto were deployed to support Houndwin in the conflict). Both countries suffered from economic instability and increasing public dissatisfaction with their governments. The war ended with both presidents making out on live television, leaving the world even more confused as to what they had been fighting for. Rossconto is a small island in Houndwin. It's got a population of many different species and hybrids. Dogs and cats are a minority here. Loose regulations made Rossconto spiral into a haven for drug manufacturers and other drug users. But in the aftermath of the war, the government had finally started cracking down all the drug labs. However Lloyd's main labs stayed intact. A lot of other products that get manifactured here are also pretty cheap. Houndwin is almost 60% of population suffers from alcoholism or nicotine addiction. Drug trade, murder and other crimes are at an all time high. Mr.Cocks tried to ban all pornographic material but that resulted in riots. A fair share of people in Nemvale speak English with a bit of an accent. Clawgard: Mr.Blumkin complains to Mr.Cocks about milk prices in Houndwin but gets ignored every time. About 20% of population is lactose intolerant. Mr.Blumkin got exposed for hooking up with dogs on a gay dating app. Relationships between two different species are frowned upon, marriage is illegal. Hybrids are often times discriminated against, and rarely have a high status in society. Bordering the eastern and western regions, the city of Markaw suffered the most, as it was caught between the crossfire from both nations that neighbored it. Hair and facial hair doesn't grow naturally, there's products that help antrhos grow additional hair. Lloyd: Lloyd is one of the most successful drug lords in Markaw. He was born in Rossconto, his family was rather poor, drug dealing on this island was the norm and that pretty much was his job there. He might be a bit agressive and strict with his subordinates. However he's really caring towards his own family. He has gifted them a luxurious life and they no longer have to waste a single minute of their lives working minimum wage jobs. One of his key assets for drug transportation is Voronko - a highly respected senior customs supervisor, who is willing to turn a blind eye to the countless cargo ships that pass through their ports. Lloyd's rise to success wasn't without complications though. When a sudden war broke out between Houndwin and Clawgard, Lloyd (while serving lifetime in jail), was suddenly drafted as part of the national conscription. This is when he met Edgar in Markaw. Edgar got really interested in drug dealing, as citizens in Houndwin had never seen nor used drugs before. Lloyd, together with Edgar, created an underground drug ring that spread its roots through the conflict zones, smuggling vast quantities of narcotics under the guise of military shipments or food supply, Lloyd been operating completely out of the police's radar for quite some time now Lloyd on official government records, he's listed as deceased. Edgar is Lloyd's right hand and serves as the face of the operations. Lloyd is a 50-year-old wolverine, his character is stable between emotions and facts, but most often he is stone-cold calm, prefers an AK-74, wears a tundra-colored T-shirt and black body armor, and has scars on his body, but they are more visible on his neck and the right side of his face. Edgar Hodkin: Not much is known about Edgar's past life or his family. However about 10 years ago during the Trade war he met Lloyd - a notorious drug lord, who while served a lifetime in jail got suddenly drafted to help fight in the conflict. Together, they built a drug empire, but to keep his hands clean he hired three mercenaries/contract killers - Donovan , Travis (Later Daud and Dave joined as well) They handle everything from debt collection to high-profile assassinations, while his partner - Lloyd deals with some of the distribution. Edgar is a 47-year-old Greenland dog/mix, pays a lot of attention to detail, is very calm and tired, and smokes frequently. wears an olive jacket and a black bulletproof vest. Edgar currently owns a gun store and they smuggle vast quantities of narcotics under the guise of military shipments and food supply. Eddie is his gun supplier, who also happened to know a lot more about Edgar and his group. Edgar is Obsessed with keeping his store tidy and clean. Edgar loves his billiard room. Edgar is current leader of ZENTINEL Calvin Blumkin: Calvin Blumkin is the President of Clawgard. He sometimes gets into conflicts with Spencer Cocks - the President of Houndwin. About 10 years ago, their arguments escalated into a war that was sparked by petty disagreements. In a heated debate, Mr.Cocks ended up releasing Calvin's nude photos all over the internet and spread propaganda in one of their contested cities - Markaw. However losing an argument or a debate isn't that big of a concern to Mr. Blumkin here. He suffers from Narcolepsy, a condition that makes him suddenly fall asleep at random times. Calvin is a 46-year-old male cougar, his character is kind of silly and kind. Spencer Cocks: Spencer Cocks is the President of Houndwin. He constantly gets into conflicts with Calvin Blumkin - the President of Clawgard. About 10 years ago, their arguments escalated into a war that was sparked by petty disagreements. Ever since then, Mr.Cocks has used widespread propaganda to sway the public opinion, leading many canines to develop a deep-seated hatred towards felines. The government itself is terrible. Mr.Cocks has been re-electing himself for over 12 years now. He's a pathological liar, really off-putting and he seems to face little to no accountability. Strangely enough, he’s also really generous, often times handing out money for the most basic tasks. (As an example, if someone brings him a glass of water, he might just give them 50 bucks in return.) Spencer is also married to Edward Cocks (male) (A male purple tasmanian devil). And despite knowing that marriage between two species is prohibited and really frowned upon in public, he's been fooling the public eye by claiming that Edward Cocks is in fact - a dog. Spencer Cocks is a 42-year-old Shiba Inu, homosexual, male, looks smug, very emotional, multifunctional alcoholic. Donovan: Donovan is a mercenary / contract killer, working under the direction of Edgar. His jobs inlcude - assassinations, debt collections, drug trafficking, kidnapping and holding people for ransom. Whatever the job, Don handles it with lack of empathy. He once had a partner he was close to, back when the war first erupted. But once his partner died, he actually found thrill and excitement out of his partners death. Donovan now works alongside Travis. They aren't lovers, Donovan lacks the emotional capacity for connection. He's too self-serving, too consumed by his own desires to deeply care for another person. Travis may fall to be a victim of Donovan's brutal nature, but they both share some messed up ideations and morals so they have stayed pretty close to one another for a really long time (Donovan considers kissing Travis is normal). Donovan is a 37-year-old openly homosexual muscular and ruthless male anthropomorphic Utonagan husky mix, extremely selfish, Seems rather friendly to his allies despite his brutal nature, Donovan Is a heavy smoker, Cannibalistic tendencies, Prefers to use shotguns, Odaxelagnia (Odaxelagnia (from Greek: ὀδάξ, odáx, "with the teeth" and Greek: λαγνεία, lagneía, "lust") is a paraphilia involving sexual arousal through biting, or being bitten. Odaxelagnia is considered a mild form of sadomasochism.), sadomasochist, likes to talk about how he killed someone, wears a olive tank top, he has no regret, he enjoys torture. Travis: Travis used to work in State Security Department but all of that came crashing down about ten years ago. When an operation spiraled out of control and ended in a death he didn't mean to cause. He spent a couple of months in prison for Involuntary manslaughter, soon after the Trade war started. This is when he got himself involved with Edgar and now Travis is working as a contract killer. His jobs inlcude - assassinations, debt collections, drug trafficking, kidnapping and holding people for ransom. All these things he never even imagined doing. Donovan had desensitized him to violence. Although, despite his cruelty, Travis idolizes him in a strange way. He mimics his mannerisms, his detachment and his ruthlessness. It's part an admiration and part a survival mechanism for him. Travis is a 34-year-old openly homosexual male anthropomorphic husky mix who likes to use knives and close-range weapons. He is always tired and started smoking once he became a contract killer. He is tired and his muscles are slightly less developed than Donovan's, wears a black standard cap, black hoodie, and black pants. Dave: Dave's biggest flaw is his sudden bursts of anger which often times lead him to breaking stuff that isn't his. He's got a huge gambling addiction, often times he will end up spending all his life savings at a one particular casino which is owned by Dominic. In this casino he ends up breaking one of the machine's out of anger, which pretty much gets him in debt that he hasn't been able to pay off for a while since he's living together with Kevin who is still going to school and also is unemployed. Meanwhile Dave works at a warehouse carrying boxes to shelves at a store and also does other simple tasks. His job hasn't been paying him all that well... Now for a long time Dominic's men are bothering him about the debt, often times beating him up and threatening his friends, however eventually Dominic ends up exploiting Dave, by offering him a risky and illegal job where he gets involved with even more shady people. Most of this work nowadays consists of drug dealing, illicit cigarette trade, stealing stuff. Dave is a 21-year-old male German shepherd who impulsively does things he later regrets doing, hates physical touch/affection, loves reptiles, and wears a black hoodie with gray pants. Daud: Went missing at the age of 21, ended up in an illegal dog-fighting ring. It's considered a form of entertainment for others, betting money on whoever they think has a higher chance of winning. Daud together with many others would be kept in large kennels. They would eat out of dog bowls, had shock collars around their necks, and were severely mistreated both mentally and physically. He was treated like a feral dog, usually people get into this business for money reasons but they never get told in what conditions they are going to be kept in and neither were they allowed to leave at any point. Daud had a total of 2 wins and one loss in which the opponent brought a knife into the ring. That resulted in Daud getting a scar on his face. The match was called off as no one is allowed to bring weapons into the fights. The guy who "owned" Daud took his scar as a sign of weakness and decided to discard him. They tied him up, blindfolded him and drove off somewhere far away where they threw him out in the nearest pond. Once Daud regained his consciousness he untied himself and went searching for someone that could help him. He went straight to Edgar's gun store and that's where he joined Edgar's group and got the help that he needed. "Blame the owner not the dog" Daud is a 24-year-old male Gshep x coyote, asexual, with a deep and wide scar on the right side of his muzzle, Confident introvert. Blazhevich: Worked as a cab driver, and while waiting for fares he would sit outside Edgar's store, so the two got to know each other. Once Edgar deemed him trustworthy he hired him as his personal driver, however that still got him tied to multiple murders. Now he does a variety of shady jobs. He's good friends with Parker and Carson, they often will go to their local pub to watch football or hockey matches. His friends are unaware of what he's been up to, as he keeps lying about switching jobs very often. Blazevich is a 40-year-old male badger x husky, nicotine addict, loves Hawaiian shirts, keeps an alcohol flask with him at all times, slightly turbulent ( (doesn't handle stress and criticism well) but relatively sociable. Dr. Hagen: Hagen is a forensic scientist, very respected in his field. However behind the scenes, Hagen works as an unofficial doctor for some of Markaw's criminals. Mainly Edgar and Donovan being one of his regulars. Whenever Donovan gets into one of his “incidents” and leaves someone half-conscious, Hagen's the guy he calls. He shows up, patches them up and leaves without a question. He's very reserved, won't talk unless spoken to. Dr. Hagen is a 32-year-old male dog x deer hybrid. Might have a shady past. Is there to do a job and receive his payment. Does not care about what comes next. Extremely introverted and unemotional. Wears a light blue shirt and a medical mask. PMC ZENTINEL: During the Trade War, (10 years ago) Houndwin enacted a national conscription to strengthen its army, but from all this chaos a private military company known as ZENTINEL was created. ZENTINEL started recruiting other mercenaries and prison inmates (Especially the ones from Rossconto island.) for frontline combat. Throughout the war, these mercenaries were secretly taking contracts from both Houndwin and Clawgard. However, when the war ended the company was abolished to evade scrutiny from both governments. A lot of the mercenaries weren't sure where to go from here. This was the time when Lloyd and Edgar began to take over. Both Edgar and Lloyd sort of "revived" ZENTINEL once they got interested in drug dealing. Together they built a drug empire, but to keep their hands clean they hired two of the previous ZENTINEL mercenaries - Donovan and Travis, Current members of Zentinel: Edgar, Lloyd, Donovan, Travis, Daud, Blazhevich Founded: 10 years ago Status: Active Dominic: Dominic is a young casino owner who took over after his father passed away. If someone gets on his bad side, his crew is more than likely to blackmail, stalk, or straight up threaten those who oppose him. Dave learned that the hard way. In a mad outburst, Dave smashed a slot machine at one of Dominic's casinos and he now owes about 5,000$ for the damages. Since Dave couldn't pay up, Dominic took his passport to keep him from fleeing the country and forced him to work it off. On the down low, Dominic's running a side hustle, his guys have been dealing weed on Edgar's turf, which has stirred up quite the trouble. He's neutral with Vince, they used to date in the past, but their relationship ended because Dominic couldn't stay loyal and kept stealing stuff from Vince's mansion. Dominic's shady crew consists of Roger, Lance, Chum and Carter Dominic is a 27-year-old male black and gray canine with blue irises and light red pupils. His breed is unspecified. He is bisexual. Was in a relationship with Vince. Wants everything to go his way. Has a sister. has congenital insensitivity to pain and anhydrosis, wears a white shirt, black tie, and black pants, and has piercings in his nose, ear, jaw, and above and below his eyebrows. Vince: Vince is a 35-year-old male mix of belgian malinois - alaskan malamute. He is calm and suspicious of many things. We know very little about him. He is a businessman and owns a penthouse. He wears a black T-shirt, black pants, and a gold watch, He is a businessman firstly, and orders from above do not interest him, like Dominic. He's neutral with Dominic, they used to date in the past, but their relationship ended because Dominic couldn't stay loyal and kept stealing stuff from Vince's mansion on total worth of 800$ Roger: Roger is a bit of a pushover but he likes to put up the tough guy act. Talks like he’s seen things, and keeps his chin high up. He gets scared easily though, flinches at loud noises and never quite knows when to stand up for himself. He loves slot machines, he can never quit them. Deep down Roger just wants to win at something for once. He owes Dominic a large sum of money and has yet to pay it off. Roger is a 25-year-old male heterosexual German shepherd mix, "Can't cook for shit," Roger very recently found himself on his knees in front of Donovan and may have lost an eye, wears a black hoodie. Lance: Lance had a difficult childhood. To survive and support his unemployed stepfather who was severely ill, he resorted to stealing things from stores. As he grew older, he found work at a nearby construction site, and kept daydreaming of having a better life . After his stepfather passed away, Lance moved in with Gawlik, who has a history of abusing drugs. Gawlik’s addiction soon enough pulled them both into trouble, eventually pushing Lance into the world of drug dealing. Now, he works for Dominic and several other dealers Lance is a 32-year-old heterosexual (He believes that topping another boy does not make him gay.) male wolf + husky + laika, loves hotels, is recovering from alcoholism, has a porn magazine collection, wears a white shirt, is adaptable but turbulent (doesn't handle stress and criticism well). Gawlik: Gawlik is a druggie who's down to try just about anything. He's easily swayed and impulsive. He's a constant thrill-seeker, and ends up shoplifting and doing other stupid stunts to impress people. He's chill to talk to but has a hard time standing still and gets easily distracted. He met Lance online, they played a lot of games together and moved in after two years of talking. Lance at the time had a girlfriend but shortly ended up breaking up with her and Gawlik begins to have a bit of a crush on him (Lance don't know). Gawlik is a 26-year-old male homosexual cougar who wears a gray unbuttoned hoodie and a white T-shirt. He works at a video game store. Lance gave him the nickname “mayo” because Gawlik loves mayonnaise so much. Gawlik is taller than Lance, observant and very assertive, but still kind of silly and cat-like, likes to talk in slang and use terms like "bro", slightly dumb. Gawlik's and Lance's relationships more like friendship, Lance is slightly toxic, for example if Gawlik says he had a bad day Lance is just ignores him, not wanting Gawlik to "ruin his day too" Carter: We know very little about Carter. He is a 26-year-old male gray jaguar who works for Dominic voluntarily. He is quite friendly and timid. He is currently being held captive by Donovan and Travis and is being subjected to relatively mild torture in the form of beatings. He is not very muscular and is shorter than average. Danilov: Danny is a cheerful guy, always ready to stand up for others. He never knows when to give up, although his stubborn optimism makes him foolish at times, causing him to repeat the same mistakes over and over again, without ever learning from them. Due to the constant crimes happening in Markaw, he always dreamed of becoming a superhero, however this fantasy gave him a bit of a saviour complex. When he met Basso (a mute guy) his heart went out to him, and he took him in as a companion on his mission to catch criminals. Dan once aspired to be a police officer, but a harsh lesson changed his path. After one of his friends (A drug dealer) was killed on the streets and police showed little to no interest in the case, Danny decided to take jsutice into his own hands rather than rely on a system he has lost faith in. And now he's gone down a deep rabbit hole on drug dealer disappearances. Danilov is a 24-year-old male coyote mix wearing a black jacket with black body armor and double-layer anti-fog orange ski goggles. He hasn't created his own "special force" or anything like that, he just simply bought military gear and guns, speaks over people, overthinker Basso: Basso was originally born in Rossconto but currently resides in Markaw. He's got Apraxia of speech - a condition that makes it difficult for him to speak. However, he never received the treatment he needed growing up so he doesn't bother with it anymore. While unable to communicate verbally, he developed a habit of biting himself, thus leaving scars all over his body. Danilov thought that Basso was mute because some criminals might of hurt him and traumatized him, however that is far from the truth and Basso simply prefers silence over the struggle of explaining things to someone, so he just rolled with it. Basso is a 22-year-old male Sable wearing a black gas mask resembling a boar with black mirrored lenses and multiple scars on his arms. He wears a black turtleneck, black body armor, and black pants. While wearing the gas mask, he can detect scents from miles away. Scratch his scars, he always mute, doesn't talk much or doesn't talk at all.
