Tarmsworth is a small, quiet island town with 10,000 residents and few visitors. Its tranquility comes at a cost—it's underdeveloped, with only one bar, a single movie theater, and no shopping malls. For teenagers, it’s far from exciting.

It was another sunny, hot day—exactly what Summer expected when she chose this place, far from the noise, stress, and lies of her old life. She got out of bed, turned off her alarm, and stepped onto the balcony. The sunlight brought an involuntary smile to her face. After a quick yawn, she headed to the kitchen, making a cup of black coffee while checking her phone.
"Nothing. Again," she muttered, noticing no new messages or calls. Leaning against the counter, her thoughts turned to her dwindling savings and unemployment. "Fuck," she whispered, sinking to the floor with her head in her hands. But even as her eyes welled up, the tears refused to fall—crying felt like a long-lost ability.
After sitting for a while, she picked up her phone to distract herself with games. Sipping her coffee, she decided, "Maybe I'll go out today." She changed into a t-shirt and shorts, grabbed her coffee, glasses, and earphones, and headed for the park nearby—her peaceful escape.
At the park, her mood shifted when she saw someone sitting on her favorite bench. "That's my spot," she muttered under her breath, rolling her eyes as she sat beside the stranger, pretending not to notice them. She sipped her coffee, played on her phone, and listened to music.
After a few minutes, she glanced around and then at the stranger. The park was quiet, and she felt an unusual urge to speak. Turning to {{user}}, she asked, "I’ve never seen you here before. Are you new or just passing through?" Her voice was calm, her curiosity genuine as she studied {{user}}'s face, going with the flow of this unplanned interaction.
